Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another episode of I Tell You What. So
last night the CMA Awards Country Music's biggest night. It
was a big, big night. There's a lot to the
night last night. Yes, let's just cut right to it
to what I know. If you're just waking up, maybe
you missed it and you're like, Okay, what's the little

(00:22):
guffaw or maybe big gufa or maybe you know. Right now, listen,
it's the end of the night. People have everyone's won
their awards except for one.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yep, it's the biggest one.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, the full climbax event is right here, right in
front of you. Who is going to be Entertainer of
the Year. The dude Jeff Bridges takes the mic to
tell the world who won Entertainer of the Year and
who was up for Entertainer of the Year.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Sam So, the people that were up for Entertainer of
the Year, you had Luke Calm's Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton,
Lady Wilson, and Morgan Wallen.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Okay, it's quite a lineup.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
The dude Jeff Bridges gets out there and he mentions
to the world who the Entertainer of the Year is and.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
The CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year goes too,
Morgan Whalen.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
No, dude, Morgan wasn't even there or after that, maybe
he just hit in a closet because he wasn't there
last night.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
In honesty, he wasn't there. But you got one job?

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah, yeah, man, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I just I don't get it.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
He's got five names, and the rest of them are
all really easy to pronounce.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
They're all They're really easy to pronounce. I agree with you,
especially given the past number of years Morgan.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
People know, yes, yeah, apparently not not Jeff Bridges. But
I'm like, okay, if you're not sure on any of
the names how to pronounce him, maybe check or maybe
he felt.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Like he was sure. It doesn't look like Whalen.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
There's nothing about it that looks like Whalen. Is w
A L L E N?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Then Morgan Wallan? But Whyalon made a nice returnast night?
But you got one job man?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yah?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Now, And it's the guy who this this This argument
goes lots of different directions, but he's been through a ton.
Morgan Wallen has a lot of it due to Morgan Wallen.
Morgan Wallen has been through a lot because of Morgan Wallen,
the chair, the you know, choice of vocabulary, caught on

(02:37):
the ring camera, lots of things. But obviously the country
world has come to a point of forgiveness and this guy,
easily without I think all the interruptions in the past,
could easily have been Entertainer of the Year years past.
I'm not saying that all of this prevented it from him,
just speculation. Who knows, right, he's been up for this

(02:57):
stuff before, sometimes not even up for it.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
We all know how this works. But maybe just get
the name.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Right, Yeah, make sure whoever's announcing it. At least I.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Mean, at least it was Jeff Bridges. He's the dude,
I mean, the big Lebowski.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I mean, I get it, but is he the dude?

Speaker 5 (03:15):
I just feels the dude he doesn't make.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
It right, okay to me, and I'm a different.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
When do you hear the audio half for you coming
up about six twenty this month, that's the audio that
you got that you want to hear.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
I'm not I'm not. I'm not blowing it right now
coming up at six twenty.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
To me, Jeff Bridges is like, I don't know, he's
a dude to me.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Well, he's iconic because of The Big Lebowski. Not everyone
appreciates that movie. It's you know, like like so many others,
it's not necessarily it wasn't some say it was mainstream appeal.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
I kind of I beg to differ. Yeah, I just
as a cult following, right.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I think for me, it's like when it comes to
Entertainer of the Year, which is like the award of
the night, why don't you have like an iconic country
star like anybody I don't even know, I just Dolly
or somebody. Why don't you have them present entertainment?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Well?

Speaker 5 (04:06):
Is he doing something for ABC? I don't even know.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm just is he doing is there something coming up?
Is he on a show bringing Jeff Bridges back?

Speaker 5 (04:14):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I don't know. I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Or maybe he just somebody's buddies with him and he
didn't have anything to do.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I don't know who knows.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I mean, Simone Biles was there last night, yeah, you know,
and there's other people that were there that were that
aren't necessarily country music but have a lot going on
to ABC and other shows and stuff.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
So for sure, and I think Simone Biles is incredible.
I just don't think that she should have Like, I
don't think that it would have been fitting for her
to do Entertainer of the Year either.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
My question is is what if you were to go
to Facebook and let a rip, or you want to
go to talkback. I'd love to hear your inflection on
this on talkback the iHeartRadio app. You're listening to camon
Le till you hit the microphone, let her rip your
thoughts on anything? And the CMA show last night, CMA
Award Show. But is there anything that you had one job?
Let this just be vulnerable. You had one job that

(04:58):
easy reading and and one of the more popular, if
not the most popular name in country music outside of
Chris Stapleton obviously every year. But you had one job,
one thing to do, and you biffed it.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Talkback iHeartRadio App? Let it rip something kind of cute
if you want to drop there. I've had so many
I don't even think I can narrow down, narrow it
down to one. I'm just coming up with this on
the fly. But I mean, I mess up a lot
of the little things, some of the complicated stuff. I
find a way to fall up the ladder. So I
have that worked. I don't know how what I do? Wow,
I just I fixed my car, you know whatever. It's

(05:33):
like something more complicated, but the easy stuff. You know,
I've I've biffed.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
But what did you do?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Or you could put it on the Chris Corring company
Facebook page. I'll have examples coming up. I just like
I said, I just popped this out and I'm trying
to think of a like a doozy.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
I know, I've got some doozies, you know.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I remember working with somebody once who was this wasn't
my deal. He had one job cut off a tree
limb and he was sitting on the wrong side of
the tree limb. Oh no, he was cutting off the
tree limb next to the tree and he was hanging
on the thick, this thick limb away from the tree.
He was about to chop the limb that was supporting him.

(06:12):
And I'm like, dude, you got one job. Yeah, you know,
that's kind of a big one that comes to mind.
I'm trying to I know that I've done just I
do a lot of stupid crabs.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Well that's the thing, like for me, I know.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
Put the wrong gas in my car something.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Somehow I think that I haven't done that one.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
But it's hard to do. Actually, the nozzles are different,
but I gave it a good hearty go.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
I feel like I messed so many things up.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
It's like most tasks that I'm responsible for in general,
I feel like I find out.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
But Jeff Bridges had one job last night. Just go
read this name.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
Just read it. Entertainer of the Year. That's all you
have to do.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
And the CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year goes too, Morgan.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
I wish Morgan was there. The only thing to make
it better is if he was out there to take it.
I know, Jeff, I worked hard for this. He changes
his name to Whalen from now on, that'd be epic.
That's what he should do. I am now Morgan Whalen.
Jeff Bridges, the dude changed my name. It's the power
of the dude. That's what he should do. Yes, and

(07:15):
then all of us disjockeys have to change all of
our imaging Morgan Whalen.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
It would work. I think it'd be fine. Jeff Bridges
has declared it.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
