Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's caf I am six forty and you're listening to
the Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio apps.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
All right, it's caf Ay, I'm six forty. While look
at the crowd. Man, oh man.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
We probably have I don't know, maybe one hundred people,
one hundred and fifty people.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
We're here for Catarina's Club at Wendy's in what is this?

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Is this mission.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Viaj al right, Mission Viejo, which is right near Lake
Forest and nowhere near Burbank. Hi, ladies and gentlemen. Let
me introduce the people that I work with to make
this job easier sometimes tougher. Angel Martinez everybody.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
She gets you.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Through a lot of traffic nightmares like yesterday when we
had the four or five clothes and also the seven
to ten clothes, and Angels on top of that as usual,
best news guy in the world, Michael Krozier and the
that's right and the heart and soul of the show me.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Oh and belly oser.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Sharon Bellio everybody, greatest producer in the world, and this
show took off and became successful when she started on
this program. I'm usually a huge massagynist.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
But I like this one. I like this.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Hey, we have a lot of Kings fans out here.
Huh wow, look at that. There's some kids over here
that are Kings fans. There's one or two more guys
out here. No Ducks gear. I don't see any Ducks
fans here. One Ducks fan over here, very excited about excellent.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Yo.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
She's wearing a Ducks jersey. Oh that's cool.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Well, I drove down from Burbank, and once you leave
La County, the freeways open up. Everybody's smiling, everybody's enjoying themselves.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
And I am.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
So gd pissed that I don't live down here, and
I would live within walking distance of this center. There's
a Dollar Tree, which is my joint. There's a Albertsons,
one of my favorite places. There's a little Bank of
America where there's just an ATM, which is my speed.
You know, you have to talk to anybody, and a subway,

(02:22):
and of course a brand new Wendy. Yes, this is
this is really a cool deal. We're here to raise
money for Catalina's Club. Has anyone been to the White
House Catalina's Club?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Okay, A lot of people, okay.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
And we're gonna do that a week from Tuesday, I believe, yeah,
week from Tuesday and December third, and we'll be raising
money again. Last year, I think we got close to
a million dollars. And you know, we'll figure out what
we'll do this year. But every show will be there.
It'll start with Amy King, Amy King fans here, no nice,
all right, and then Bill Handle fans, huge, huge bill

(03:02):
Handle crowd, and then Gary and Shannon well even bigger
John Colebell and of course yours truly think dorm thank
you very much. And then we also have Moe Kelly
coming on right after the show, Big Moe Kelly shot.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
And then comes on after that George Nori.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Yees.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Oh, one guy, all right, that's cool, this young lady.
You've been here since eleven a m. Is that right
from where San Diego?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Del Mar?

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Okay, I was on the way down here, which I
probably shouldn't be doing. I'm trying to drive and bet
at del Mar at the same time.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
It seems like a big joke until I slide.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Into a van of you know, kids, and then they're like, hey,
did that guy really do that? No, but but traffic
is so bad that you can actually do that. You know,
in LA, once you get Orange County, you gotta drive.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
You gotta drive.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
There's eight lanes, there's two lanes and the and the
carpool lane. There's six more lanes on the other side.
And you've got to be aware of where you're going.
And then once you get down here, this lake is beautiful.
That's Lake Mission Viejo. I've never seen that lake before.
But god, man, do you guys have it made? Did
all of you leave La? All of you left La

(04:19):
right and you came down here. But I noticed even
the shoulders of the freeways are beautiful.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Do you have plants there?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
And everybody seems to be happier down here than in LA.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Like living plants, yes, right, like living plants.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
And there's not as much garbage on the streets, there's
not as much graffiti.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
It's so much more spacious out here, right.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
And I have not seen well maybe one over here.
I've not seen a homeless guy since I've been down here.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Do you not have them? Do you not welcome them
down here? Are you people? What are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I have not seen any of them.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I mean, once you leave La it is a whole
new world down here, and and and we could be
like that in La. We could have the same freeways,
we could have the same clean streets, we have the
you know, reduced homeless problem. We could have all that.
We just decide not to do it. That's what we've done.
We decided, you know what, screw it, We're not gonna
do it. Janine, we'd like to thank you for coming.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
By stuck around nice.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Yes, she's been here for a little while. You're she's
a long time listen. Your dad listened, right, Come on
up here, Come on up here, baby, Janine. We got
to get her a microphone here. She has been listening.
Her dad used to listen to KFI when you were
when you were just a baby. Huh, you were just
a little child. I gotta turned to mic on. I
think it's that one.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
And you were how old when you started listening to KFI? Uh?

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Probably I was probably about in my late teens.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Is that right?

Speaker 5 (05:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:49):
And that was thirty twenty years.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Ago, thirty forty years ago?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
All right, I lowball, June. I was gonna to say
forty to fifty, but I didn't want to be offensive. Well,
thank you, but so Dad would listen to KFI and even.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Listen to on his way to his job at Hughes Aircraft.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Oh wow, oh that's great. And you know, back in
the day, and now this has changed.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
For all you new dads out here. Back in the day,
Dad ran the radio, ran the radio.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
He did.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Whatever Dad listened to, you listened to and if you
tried to touch that dial, you're.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Going to get it.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
Oh yeah, on the way home.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
But nowadays we all listened to that crappy music that
our kids like. Right, all right, it's all it's all
the you know, the stuff that we can't really relate to.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
But we listened to it because the kids like it.
Keep them quiet.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
But old school dad, old school.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Dad aircraft manufacturing. And you're listening. Did he smoke and
drink while he's driving?

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Not drink, but he smoked.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Smoked.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, yeah, a lot of the airplane guys smoked.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I remember my dad driving us up to Big Bear
for the day that he had six kids and we
all brought like a with us. So there's ten, maybe
eleven kids in the car and on the way up
the mountain, my dad back then was smoking, smoking in
the car. No seatbelts and windows up, windows windows.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
And then when my uncle would take us, you know,
because occasionally my dad, when you have six kids and
a wife, you gotta work.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
When my uncle.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Would take us, bottle under the seat, chicaga glug smoking
and driving.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Eleven kids, right, wild that we all made it wild?

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Surprising, Yeah, surprising.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
And my wife reminds me.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
She goes, well, we didn't all make and I'm like, go,
my I said, please, don't be a downer baby.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
What's going on with you? We're at Wendy's. Uh, this
is great.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
We're gonna be able to talk to a bunch of you.
It looks like there might be what do you think crows?
One hundred people here?

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah, I was just about one hundred people here and
we're at Alicia Parkway and OLYMPIAD.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
All right, OLYMPIAD. Please tell your dad still with us? Always?
Not all right? How long was he recently? About twenty sixteen,
twenty and sixteen? I bet you thinking about it every
day every day? Yeah, and we say kfi, you do
it in respect to him. Good for you, Good for you.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
I'm on a sage therapist at Ocean's eleven.

Speaker 2 (08:23):

Speaker 5 (08:27):
I was gonna say this same.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, what's Ocean's eleven.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
It's a casino. It's a card room.

Speaker 2 (08:34):

mom and dad are still living their lives. Kind of crazy, huh,
But that's what happens, you know, when you raised really
good kids, when when mom and dad can can remain
in your life. Now, I know the circumstances where it

(10:08):
doesn't happen. We get a lot of emails say, well,

segment that there are no homeless people here. And then
somebody pointed out that there is a homeless guy right
behind this building. But homeless in Mission Viejo means he

What's on the issue is tonight we.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
Got the first interview with Governor Jerry Brown since the
election of Donald Trump. Really interesting to hear from him
because he at this point really has no filter and
kind of says it like it is, and it's willing
to call out the Democratic Party, call out the Republicans,
uh and call balls and strikes from his perspective, and.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Jerry Brown fans here. Zero.

Speaker 6 (18:23):
We've also got doctor Drew Pinsky on the on the show, yeah,

up in this plane right here. That's Mike O'Brien above us.
So he's taken video. He's gonna take a big picture.
So get out where you can see Mike O'Brien in
the plane right here, flying over Wendy's in Orange County
ding dong. He's gonna take a big picture of everybody,

(19:30):
will put up on social media.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
So try to slide out where you can see him.

This is really one of the coolest restaurants around, a
brand new location.

Is there a drive through here? I think there is
right there.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Is.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, what was this place before? Is anybody remember Chinese?
Chinese place? Really drive through Chinese? No, no drive through
all right, and it didn't make it huh say they moved?
Oh I see, okay, but now it's Wendy's. You can
drive through. We have about one hundred maybe one hundred

(24:02):
and fifty people, I don't know. There's a lot of
people inside as well. And we're gonna be here till
seven o'clock tonight. We're gonna get into a little bit
of news. But the big reason we're here, obviously is
to get out of La for me. But another big
reason is Caterina's Club. We're gonna be doing that a
week from tuesday at the White House in where is that?

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Anaheim?

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Right?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
The White House in Anaheim? Skip from here.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
Yeah, the White House is fairly close to all you guys,
and we're gonna be raising money for Caterina's Club. For
people that don't know what Catarina's Club is, it's a
charity started by Chef Bruno and they feed kids every single.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Day that otherwise would have no meal.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
I think he's feeding twenty five thousand a week or
a day or it's a lot twenty five thousand kids
a week, and every dollar that you donate here you
can either donate or buy one of these coupon books
or if you go to Smart and Final. It's all
being put in the same kiddy for Katerina's Club, and
it's it's always a fantastic charity. So a week from Tuesday,

(25:04):
we'll all be at the Anaheim White House and we
invite all of you to come down, Please come down,
and yeah, we'll.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Make it a huge, huge day. It's gonna start.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
With Amy King, then Bill Handle, Gary and Shannon John, myself,
Moe Kelly, and I don't know if George nor he's
ever made it down. I don't think he has rights,
not his saying, I guess, but it really is a
it's a it's a terrific event and we're gonna be
there broadcasting all day long.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
It's gonna be great.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
All right, We're gonna take a small break here yet
another one and uh and when we come back. Oh wait,
actually before we take a break, obviously, my Michael Krozer,
Angel Martinez and Bellio. We mentioned these people, but I
also wanted to say hi to a Bella on the board. Bella,

o the same thing, do you mind bringing us food
