(00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you'relistening to the Conway Show on demand on
the iHeartRadio app. We have anupdate on Steph Busch's car. It has
been found in Burbank. He wouldn'tsee a movie. Then he couldn't find
his car this morning. Then hetook an uber to work and he was
depressed out of his mind. EricSklar from the John Colbelt Show left the
(00:24):
station shortly after John Show ended, went to Burbank, went to the theater,
went to the parking area and foundit in less than ninety seconds.
It is found. You have allyour stuff in it, and man it
what a great way to end theweek. That's definitely true because you couldn't
have handled that. You've had somebad luck with that car included. Is
(00:46):
that the same car that the catalogicconverter was stolen on? No, that's
what I was worried about too.Is the other one? Oh yeah,
that one's gone now? But yeah, wow, all right, so you're
gonna be good. You'll be ahome in about eleven o'clock tonight when it
starts raining. It's gonna start ataround ten o'clock tonight, ten o'clock tonight
is when the rain starts, andit's not gonna stop until late Sunday.
(01:07):
Here's an interesting thing that I realizedwhen he found it. Eric said he
found it on the first floor.Yeah, and Stephan all this time had
said he had thought that he hadleft it on P two, which means
if he had left it on Ptwo, he would have had to have
gone downstairs. Right he didn't.I didn't. You didn't even remember not
going downstairs. I just like tookoff from the car once they parked,
So I yeah. Well, butit's weird though, because it's on a
(01:32):
hill. So if you're on ifyou pull in and go to the parking
lot, still have to go likeup, you gotta go up. Yeah,
yeah, and so that's why.So I don't know, but it's
still But in your defense, okay, I'll take it. I've been in
that parking lot plenty of times andlost the car plenty of times. Walking
(01:53):
around You'll feel You'll see people walkingaround Burbank just clicking their their button looking
for their car all day. Yeah. I think everybody can relate to not
And you know where the second mostconfusing parking lot in the world is right
under where we're sitting right now,got him. People will get lost here
too. When I first started here, for the first year, I had
no idea where the hell I parkedand then to go out of this building.
(02:15):
This is a weird thing about thisparking lot. If you're parked,
I'm like the guest area. Youhave to go down in this parking lot
and then go back up to getout. Yeah, it's I've never had
that experience in any parking lot inthe world, where you have to go
down, back down into the parkinglot structure and then drive and then go
back up to get out. It'sweird. Yeah, Because I was even
(02:36):
telling Eric, like, I goto Dilomo all the time, and if
I didn't know that area, Iwould get lost there too. But this
place, I've only been there literallythree times. This is my third time
there. Buddy, you are notalone with losing a car in Burbank.
There are people that walked around formonths look at you trying to make it
feel better. It's true. Itis absolutely true. It is a very
very confusing parking lot. And youknow what sucks is, you know there's
(03:00):
a saying about Burbank. I don'tknow if it's still true, but you
know, five, ten, fifteenyears ago, it certainly was. Burbank
is a place where old people goto visit their parents. So the average
age of people who live in BurbankI think now, or it was I
think eighty seven and so people tohave that kind of parking structure in an
(03:21):
area where there's a lot of seniorcitizens is really unfair and outrageous that people
have to look for their car likethat. But it happens all the time,
all the time. Have you learneda lesson at all from this?
I don't know. Yes, I'mbuying an air tag tomorrow. Okay,
all right, but I heard onyou can do the same thing on ways.
Can't you track from ways where?Yeah? But I didn't. Yeah
(03:44):
but I didn't. You didn't putthe location there. I say, okay,
it close into my ways automatically.I don't do it like like if
I go in like if I parkin here, I can pull up my
ways right now. It'll tell mewhere my car is. And I didn't
do anything to ways. It's kindof like an almost an automatic thing.
Yeah. I think it is foron mind too, But I'm gonna choose
not to bang on, Steph Foushanymore today, Oh come on, I'm
(04:05):
gonna wait till Monday to show themexactly how easy it is to You're gonna
load up over the weekend. Takein the world my daughter has been doing
since she was twelve. She knewwhere your car was before Scar left the
(04:26):
building. It was really all right, let's get into the weather. It's
gonna be raining this weekend. Crozier'savocado tree is gonna get wiped out,
wiped out. We're gonna start offon this good Friday. Temperatures are gonna
be quite cool, cooler than normal, but mostly drawn seasonably cool this weekend,
(04:47):
the early half of today, andthen we're gonna start to see additional
clouds rolling. And yes, rainchances do increase later tonight, and we
will be dealing with floodwatches that willgo into place ten PM southern California ahead
of this atmospheric river storm. Sothis eastern storm will continue with the rain
drops all the way into your EasterSunday. So just to heads up,
(05:09):
you know, uh Crozier, youlived on the East coast for a while,
they used to call that the northeaster. I don't think you do with
eastern, which is the northeastern storm. It is absolutely correct. Would this
be the wee easter West Eastern, the weaster weaster the easter storm areas from
downtown LA to Burbank to Irvine. We're expecting a big weaster coming in weaster
(05:30):
easter more chicken easter areas from downtownLA to Burbank to Irvine, Orange County.
Yes, the Inland Empire communities andall our local mountains and foothill areas,
as well as our desert communities willbe impacted by rainfall. One to
three inches of rain is possible,of course, higher for those hillside Did
you hear that. I know alot of people listen half ass getting I'm
(05:51):
one of you. This is nottime to half ass it though. Listen
to how it's rain is coming inthis weekend. One to three inches of
rain is one to three inches. That's a lot, especially if your houses
in the hills. One to threeinches of rain is possible, of course,
higher for those hillside and foothills andmountain communities. Here's that area of
low pressure. As we continue towatch it spin, that cyclone in the
(06:14):
atmosphere will continue to circulate a littlefurther south, rotate across southern California and
bring in the increase in rain chances. The latest atmosphere river storm. Again,
it will be bringing us a lotof impacts. We could be looking
for flood concerns, landslides as apotential mud to brief flow, and the
high elevation snow which will slowly startto lower down to as low as the
(06:38):
forty five hundred foot level, whichWow, forty five hundred feet that's the
snow level in late March early April. That's wild in southern California. Could
impact the grape vine, so we'llbe keeping grape vine closing in April.
That's unheard of. Could impact thegrape vine. So we'll be keeping tabs
on that into the weekend. Wego behind the storm. Beautiful weatherhead temperatures
(07:02):
will be nearing eighties by next twoweeks Wow, Wednesday, which is technically
April. There you go, allright, So this might be the last
breath of this crazy winter that we'veexperienced together, all of us. This
might be a wrap. It mightbe Sunday or Monday, and then we
(07:23):
get into listen to this. Thetemperature on Tuesday in the San Fernando Valley.
San Fernando Valley. The temperature onTuesday is seventy six degrees. On
Wednesday eighty eighty degrees in the SanFernando Valley on Wednesday eight zero. Oh.
(07:43):
The next Friday, we're down tofifty eight. Again is the high
God it mighty. It never stops. So next Friday the lowest forty six
and the highest fifty eight. Butthere's one day in there we can hit
eighty. One day. We canall pretend like we live in southern California.
But man, my wife has hatedwith this rain and the cold weather.
(08:03):
She has had it. The depressionkicks in. You can't get your
spring cleaning going, You can't move, you know, you can't get the
yard rolling yet because it's still gonnabe wet. Enough with this, Enough
with this, But I'm going totell you this, come July and August,
when it's one hundred and ten degreesoutside, we're all going to look
back and miss this type of weather, all of us. You're listening to
(08:28):
Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFIAM six forty. We had a high
speed pursuit. It was originally reportedby Chris Little our news director on Channel
nine. We turned it on andit was there. We were watching it
for a while, then they losthim. Channel eleven picked it up and
they lost him. Yeah, soI guess we're looking for him right now.
(08:48):
CBS is saying that we through trafficon the one, the seven to
ten near Southgate, you know, and we saw it going at least one
hundred hundred and nine miles an hourat some point, so he was moving.
He definitely wanted to get away, and he got away at least months.
We should send the duke out tofind it for the day. Yeah,
(09:09):
the duke is good for one finea week, I've noticed, and
then he's done. He's done. All right, Well, that was wild.
The chase was happening for a littlewhile. Where was it in Southgate?
Is that where it was reported?Yeah? Through Southgate Sevenil area.
Okay, all right, if theyfind it, we'll have it for you
immediately here on KFI Am six forty. In the meantime, speaking of Tesla's
(09:37):
Susan, is it here a Souna? Is that her name from channel from
Fox here? Asuna? I thinkyes. She had her car stolen and
staph She has a prius also thesport Tesla, also the sporting a car
belonging to our colleague Susan here Issunawas stolen and later recovered after a pursuit.
(09:58):
That pursuit ended in the East Hollywoodarea last night when the battery in
the white Tesla died. A suspectwas later arrested. You can see Susan
right there talking to police after theyrecovered her car. We did talk to
her and thankfully she is doing okay. During their investigation, the LAPD discovered
the suspect and the car may betied to an assault on skid road in
(10:20):
which a person was struck with anaxe. The victim in that incident was
treated for non life threat. Whata city we live in where they steal
a car from a news person herein La and then that person's wanted for
throwing an axe through somebody's skull. How the hell happened to? Los Angeles?
Used to be surfers and you know, people on the beach and join
(10:43):
themselves, and now cars are gettingstolen because the guy throw an axe for
another dude's head. It's unbelievable. What's going on in which a person was
struck with an axe? The victimin that incident was treated for non lo
Well, let's show on Channel eleven. There's a suspect. This might have
I have something to do with thechase. Here there's a suspect in an
AMPM Mini mart somewhere in Compton. It looks like, I don't know,
(11:07):
I'm seeing one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight people maybe lined up on thewall with their hands against the wall.
This is a lot of cops here. What's going on? Times in
these situations, as a precaution, you sort of treat everybody as a potential
suspect and keep them separated, keepthem with their hands up, and try
to get your bearings and get asense of the situation. It was interesting
(11:28):
when we were watching that pursuit,it didn't seem like there were any law
enforcement vehicles all that close to thesuspect. And here just an show of
force we are seeing from law enforcementvehicles. Imagine many of them sheriff's deputies
based out of Compton. We're notall that far from a Randy's Donuts there,
which we saw just basically across thestreet there where this am PM is
(11:52):
an ARCO. If you're familiar withthe area. This is a laundra Boulevard
and Atlantic Avenue at Compton. Forthe moment, you know, you've got
a situation where they're trying to figureout is this suspect really inside, is
this suspect one of the folks that'sstanding over there, or you know,
is there a barricade situation inside. You don't get the impression, Christine,
(12:13):
as we often look at body languageof an all clear, this looks like
this situation is not yet an allclear. Also, I don't see great
concern of the people to the leftthere, and you see their hands are
down. No, there's not alot of law enforcement gathered around them.
We did see what looked to beemployees coming out of the store as well,
one person day customer Friday. There'sso much law enforcement there with the
(12:39):
Sheriff's department. This pursuit started inCompton. We picked it up on the
seven to ten freeway where that driverwas going at speeds of over one hundred
miles per hour way passing cars thereon the freeway. That driver must have
gotten off the freeway, circled backgroundto surface streets here, ending up here
by this AMPM. Reminding you oneof the people in the car person was
(13:01):
caught, and a reminder as wellthat the original call on this was that
they believed that the driver was armedand dangerous, which might be the reason
for this overwhelming show of force ifthe cops believe that this person has a
gun and may shoot them or shootsomebody in the store, or shoot themselves,
(13:22):
or take somebody hostage. Okay, all right, this is a wild
afternoon here in southern California. Firstof all, we had steph Ush's car
stolen or missing. We found it. Now, we had a high speed
pursuit that ended up in this AMPMminimart. And I've got to I got
to be honest with you. I'vebeen into a ton of ampms in my
(13:45):
life, and every time I walkin and I look around, I think
everybody in there is a suspect.I think everybody in there has just killed
about nine people, including the guyworking there. AMPM has that that sort
of suspicious vibe to it when youwalk in, You're like, oh,
Okay, that guy look like he'sdone something. That guy looks like he
(14:07):
just killed another guy. And thatlady over there, she looks like she's
wiped somebody out too. Everybody inhere looks like they're a criminal. Everybody
everybody in AMPM. Maybe that's whatstands for right AMPM Home of the criminals.
But man is la on fire withcrime, high speed chases, gunfire,
(14:30):
guy throws an axe through another guy'shead and then steals a newswoman's vehicle
and a high speed pursuit. AndI think the cops who found I think
her name is Susan Hiroshimahisuna. Ithink when they found her car they even
lectured her. They even said,Susan, the guy stole the car at
fifteen percent juice. You don't keepthis thing on, Max. You gotta
(14:54):
get some battery life in you.Baby. Can you imagine sitting in that
AMPM just now, and all ofa sudden, I get bum rust by
the police and they gotta line upon a wall with their hands on it.
And you're going with a lineup, doesn't matter who you are though,
you know, black, white,Hispanic, Asian, you know Native American.
You're gonna go on the wall untilthey figure this out. But this
is a wild scene at this AMPMoff of a laundra and Atlantic. Let's
(15:20):
let's see, let's go back thereand see if there's still an updates,
see if there's an update here. For law enforcement, they've got time on
their side. They can wait thisperson out. Yeah, they can,
you know, Channel eleven by thingthat they need to do to ensure that
they their folks get to go homeat night and to try to protect the
public. We don't know at thispoint if there is anybody else left in
(15:43):
that am PM, if somebody maybe held as a hostage at this point,
or if it's just the suspect bythemselves, or it's possible that the
suspect has already left. Two Wedon't know for sure if the suspect,
if they know that the suspect isin there. So let's talk now with
our police expert Datasignati. I guesssuspect inside that store. As you look
(16:08):
at the body language, they're thedeputies who are now going in. They're
moving in, now going in.Chok, there they go. They're alarmed.
What's your take here as you seethis, Well, what they need
to do now is search the aMPM, thoroughly search every part of that
a MPM to determine if that suspectis in there. And they're going with
(16:29):
the protective equipment. They'll have weaponswith them and there'll be sufficient deputies as
we see surrounding at a MPM andthe folks on the other side of the
building that are standing there as possiblesuspects. They need to sort this out.
But they're searched everything they can inthat AMPM to find out the other
suspects if the suspect, and Iguess there's two suspects, is hiding out
(16:51):
inside, so they'll look throughout thatentire facility and find out and determine whether
if it's clear or not. Ifit's clear and the individuals outside, they
can and identify them being involved inthe pursuit and they'll go code for and
return and patrol. They have anumber of units, so they probably called
in units from adjoining areas of theother kind of Shriff's department, because now
they're calling people out of the unitsout of this amp and Compton. That's
(17:15):
a tremendious amount of personnel. That'stheir uniform personnel from the LA East A
Landra and Washington Washington Avenue. Aboutthe driving, the driving was absolutely outrageous,
one hundred plus miles an hour ona freeway with other vehicles and now
we see a Sheriff's helicopter overhead, but it'll be the ground search, they
determined, and if what we gotto take a break, good Friday's turned
(17:37):
out to be wild Friday. Herein Los Angeles, high speed pursuit ends
up in an AMPM at East SouthWashington Avenue and a Landa East a Landra
Boulevard in Compton. Guy was doingover one hundred miles an hour on the
freeways, ends up, I guess, allegedly in this AMPM. And now
(17:57):
there's probably around seventy or eighty copssurrounding this AMPM, and there's there's already
police tape up everywhere, which meansthat that they they're probably gonna lock this
scene off for a while. Theremight be somebody down inside this AMPM,
but there's no ambulance so far.So it's an odd scene. I've never
(18:18):
seen tape up like that, withthe cops going before the cops go in.
It's weird. And it's right acrossthe street, as Alix Michaelson said
from a Randy's Donut right there. But man, there's cops everywhere, not
just at the AMPM, but acrossthe street, down the street. There's
something radical going on in that AMPM. Something is up and that whole area
(18:41):
is affected right now, so avoide South Atlantic and East Alandra in Compton.
What a scene. You're listening toTim conwaytun you're on demand from KFI
AM six forty. We thought itwas gonna be a big casual Friday where
no one's showing up to work becauseit's good Fryday. It's the friday before
Easter. It's going to be rainingout, so everyone stayed at home,
(19:03):
no one went to work today. But man, it's the exact opposite.
We started with Steph Fush losing hiscar, misplacing his car. I thought
it was stolen, and Steph, foosh, I don't know. You know,
I'm starting to question your relationship withyour evening radio team. Why is
that okay? Because Mark Ronner workswith you, Moe Kelly, two big
(19:29):
guys who work with you, rightYeah, And we said, oh,
Steph Fush got his car and neitherone of them knew that it was missing.
Well, yeah, I didn't tellanyone because I thought I was hoping
to find it. Wait, whatdid Mom say in there? She was
shocked that they tell them that's whatit sounded like. Mom, I can't
(19:55):
help it. Exactly what ended uphappening. Mm hmmm mmm, go on,
exactly what ended up happening, becauseI feel like an idiot because Eric
found in two seconds and I waslike, I'm going to find this car.
(20:19):
Okay, mm hmm, that's wild. They would have know, they
would have helped me out in aheartbeat, but I just didn't tell them
because I didn't be embarrassed. Gonnayeah, okay, super embarrassed. That's
so great, man. I nevers Crozier. I'd never heard that story
about Phil Henry, about how hecame up with that that that tone in
(20:40):
that character is his mom, hismom. Man. Phil Henry was on
with this yesterday and he was great. He was on for an hour and
then I text him. I said, I said, Phil, I stole
your number me. I'm gonna readyou the exact text. I said this
to Phil Henry yesterday. We're gonnasay, oh, I was gonna say
that he it was. I knewthat he had modeled a number of his
characters after, you know, obviouslypeople in his life, but I didn't
know that he had modeled a coupleafter his mom. Oh is that okay?
(21:04):
Okay, all right, okay.He actually did his mom one time,
at least when I was with him, and he would he felt uncomfortable
actually doing his mom as an actualcharacter. Oh really yeah yeah, which
is funny because he apparently put herin other characters. I'm gonna find this.
(21:25):
When can I find this? Eight? Oh? Here it is?
Okay, all right? I wrotethis to Phil Henry. He was nice
enough to come with us last night, and so I wanted to send him
a text because not only did MoeKelly talk about him on his show,
but Mark Ronner came in to mentionit. And I don't remember as having
(21:49):
a guest on the show where peoplein the building are talking about it an
hour or two after they leave.I remember that happening. So I wrote
to Phil Henry. I wrote, mister Henry, right, okay, I
stole your cell phone from Bellio,so you sell number from Bellum. I
can't thank you enough for making thedrive today. Everybody in the building was
(22:11):
talking about you for hours after youleft. True story. I'm not sure
you understand the effect you've had onpeople. Our doors always open if you
have anything to promote. Thank youagain and wrote Conway. Then he wrote
back, thank you, thank youbrother. It was such a great time
talking about not only the old daysa KFI, but the old town of
(22:33):
La All the best, Phil Henry, PS. I tell you that Michael
Krozer is the heart and soul ofnot only that station, but if radio
in Los Angeles. You're making thatpart of it is right there, can
read too, right there, rightthere? Wow, No, come on,
(22:55):
buddy, make me cry what yousaid last night? And and I
guess and I hope I'm not talkingout of school. But your wife knew
that it was an emotional day foryou too, running bit and Phil Henry
again, I got it. Igot she She texted me during the hour
and told me, oh my god, it's not like I ever believed you.
But Phil is telling so many ofthe same stories that you've told me
(23:17):
in almost the exact same way thatyou tell them to me. And and
uh, she knew that that yesterdaywas such a huge thing for me.
And she was like waiting for mewhen I came in the door last night.
Ah. Man, that's great, that's really cool. Huge props to
to Sharon for, you know, taking some of the pictures that she did
that we put up on social media, and and huge props to you.
And it was a great time byyeah. And and what you said at
(23:40):
the end of that hour was verymoving, buddy. And and you can
and anybody listening right now. PhilHenry was on this last night, and
go back and and re and relisten, I guess is the term,
or listen to catch the podcast.Catch the podcast from yesterday. He was
on at five o'clock five to sixpm yesterday. And if you want to
go see the Phil Hendry documentary,it's on all the platforms. It's just
(24:02):
titled Henry and it's great. Ilooked at last night when I got on
my door. Yeah, I hadto look at last night, and first
of all, I couldn't find it, you know, because and then everywhere
I can't, I know, butI'm trying to put it on the TV.
And so the moment when I startlooking for something on TV on all
the subscription crap, I turn iton and I and I spend thirty seconds
(24:26):
looking for it. I get frustratedand then you hear this, So get
down here, show me how toeffing put this on TV. I can't.
I'm trying to and she goes,Dan, what are you trying to
do? I'm trying to watch thePhil Hendry documentary. How do you do
this? She goes, yeah,I'll put it on. Click click,
click, click, bang, it'son. It's on. They know how
(24:48):
to do it, but man,I have no the different you know,
then you got to go into whoseaccount it is, and then who's watching
that separate account, and then clickingon the you know the buttons, H
E. N D. I can'tfind it. It's not on this platform,
but they said it on. Thisstuff was supposed to make things easier
for me. I know it's not. It's wild, all right. We
(25:11):
found Stephfush's car and a high speedchase ended in Compton. Those are the
two big big stories, and thenthe third one. Rain is coming in.
A lot of rain coming in tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. You are
going to get wet if you livein southern California period, and maybe a
(25:33):
lot of it too. So ifyou're in the hills, please be careful.
I know you're gonna have a coupleof sleepless nights. I understand that.
I totally get that. Try toget some rest, but I know
you're gonna be up watching your homewith every single drop. You're gonna be
worried. So get the home depot, get the low's, get all the
equipment you need to keep that housein good shape, and we'll see you
(25:53):
on Monday with your house still thereand in great shape. But I know
what, it's a long weekend comingup for a lot of people live here
in southern California. I feel yourpain. I do. You're listening to
Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFIAM six forty. Lots of things going
(26:14):
on here in Southern California. You'vetuned into the right station. You've tuned
into the correct station to be listeningto on a good Friday. Because we
all showed up to work here. We're abab either Catholic or Christian on the
show, I believe, and weall showed up to work, you know,
because we thought it was more importantto give out information than it was
to you know, observe our LordJesus Christ. I don't know where that
(26:37):
gets us at the end when it's, you know, time to go off
to heaven. I don't know ifthey'll hold it against us. We'll see,
we'll see. Hope he doesn't,but we'll see. We'll see in
the end, we'll see. Sowe had the high speed pursuit that ended
up in Compton. We've been coveringthat. That's still going on the AMPM,
very busy, busy part of alandra. Where's that landra in Washington?
(27:00):
I believe it was some we're running. And then we also have the
rain that's coming in. That's abig deal. And we were able to
recover steph Ush's car that he thoughtwas stolen this morning after we went to
see Godzilla versus Emerson Kong? WhoKong? Yeah, Kong versus Godzilla Kong
(27:21):
versus? Right, write that downGodzilla? Okay, all right, Oh
Emerson is not Emerson's a college backeast near Boston. That wouldn't make sense.
Okay, all right, all right, brain fart, what can you
do? You know, three hoursa night, fifteen hours a week,
seven thousand hours a year or whateverit is, whatever that number is,
you'll occasionally have a brain fart. But we have a promo, and we
(27:44):
don't often play our promos only becausewe've been asked not to. But this
is a really good promo that Ithink Clay put together. And here it
is. Do you ever hear theterm radio husband. It's work husband,
work husband, And I'm thinking,I don't have a radio husband, but
I have a radio white. It'sbellio? Is that? Okay? I
mean, professionally, you're great. We got to work on the other parts
(28:07):
of being the radio wife. Whatother parts are those? But Tim Conway
Junior Show. Yes, if youhave to ask live four to seven pm,
I KFI and I'm on demand anytimeon the iHeartRadio app. That's great,
man, that's classic. Clay dida great job putting that together.
Who she found it? Is that? Right? Yeah? Okay, all
(28:27):
right, that's cool. And andof course, Belly, I was talking
about the fact that you don't pickup my cleaning, you don't cook,
you don't clean. I mean there'sa lot going on, of course,
that's what you're sure. Oh youwant to hear it again? Okay,
one last time you ever hear theterm radio husband, it's work husband,
work husband. And I'm thinking,I don't have a radio husband, but
I have a radio white. It'sbellio? Is that? Okay? I
(28:48):
mean professionally, you're great. Wegot to work on the other parts of
being the radio wife. What otherparts are those? But Tim Conway Junior
show. Yes, if you haveto ask Live four to seven pm,
Dig Dog, that's great, belly. Oh that's great man. I always
say when you get to sleep, that's you're as sharp as they come.
(29:08):
All right. Yesterday Phil Henry wason with us and we want we asked
them, where did that come from? Them? Mm hmmm mm hmmmm hm.
You know that noise that he alwaysmakes, like that off putting character.
Yeah, that's it, That's exactlyit. Bobby Dooley, Yeah,
Bobby Dooley, Crozy, did youknow that was from his mom? I
(29:30):
mean I I mean we talked aboutthis. Yeah. But to see him
come back yesterday into KFI after beinggone for so long, he he felt
like like he was coming home, you know, like like he had been
here for so long. He knew, you know, he knew that you
know the people here. God,look, if you come back to a
(29:52):
radio station, you know, fifteenyears after you left and your producer is
still in the building working, thatis unheard of. And he wasn't even
in this building. Oh oh yeah, no, right place too. It's
like a different building, but it'sstill this station. Yeah. To have
a guy though, who's still here, who is producing your show is unheard
of. In to have them inthe same building is absolutely unheard of.
(30:17):
And to have uh, he's prettymuch the reason that I am still here?
Is that right? In a largeway? Yeah, I mean he
he taught working with him, taughtme a lot. And you know,
I don't I don't know that ifI would have survived here if I hadn't
learned what I learned working with himand Croache. Look, I know he
had an impact on you, butyou've had a tremendous impact on him because
he's worked with thousands or hundreds ofpeople over his career. Okay, that's
(30:40):
easily, you know, with programdirectors, producers, writers, you know,
lawyers, business people. He's workedwith hundreds of people, salespeople,
hundreds of people in radio he's workedwith over the years, over you know,
the last four or five decades.Fair to say, Okay, he
remembers when you came to Los Angelesand you lived in your car, and
he told that story of you sleepingon a park bench in North Hollywood.
(31:03):
He remembered he was North Hollywood,Yeah, and he said you were sleeping
on a bench it was the middleof the night and a guy approached you
and you said, man, lookslike I gotta kill this guy. He
remembers that story. Out of allthe things that he's retained in his life,
you've had a tremendous impact on him. That blew me away. Yeah,
he remembered every beat of that story. Yeah, that is great.
(31:25):
That is great. It blew meaway. And funny thing is is that
there was a story today about howthey're sinking a ton of money into North
Hollywood to for like visual reimprovements andthere, and they're working on the green
spaces right there by the freeway, and they're working on improving that exact park
that I was sleeping. Oh isthat right? Yeah, Oh, that's
I used to live across the streetfrom that park. I lived on one
near the where they had the bankrobber, Yeah, bankrupt No. Fourteen
(31:49):
is where I used to live on. You know where the red line and
the orange orange line come together.Yeah, that's where I used to live.
Didn't There used to be Howard Johnson'sright there in that area. Yeah,
there were, Yeah, Howard Johnson's. There's a Basket Robbins right there.
But I used to live right onon no Ho. It was called
NoHo fourteen. It was a big, you know, a huge condo building
that they later rented out for apartmentsbecause it right in the heart of the
(32:14):
horrible economy. And we used tohear gunshots coming from that park. We're
on the fourteenth floor, and we'dwalk out to the patio and you could
see like two guys running from eachother and you hear gunshots, and then
the cops would show up and youknow, and manhandle the whole situation,
and we watched it from fourteen floorsabove. I had a couple of cops
pull up on me one night whenI was sleeping on that part bad.
(32:35):
They came right up onto the grass. They do that all the time there,
Yeah, right up to me,and I didn't even realize they were
there till they were kind of nudgingme in the shelter. And then they
slights in their high beams. Thenthey turn their high beams on. They
say, people's they scatter like cockroaches. People just take off. They go
on, all right, we'll comeback. We're going to play that Phil
Henry piece on how his mom impactedhis his characters, Bobby Dooley, which
(32:58):
is a great, great story.I never heard that story before. We'll
replay winkerbec and the flood is Watchis on from ten pm tonight till ten
pm Sunday. We'll take a seriouslook at that in the six pm hour.
