But yeah, sure, okay, but we all we always say
that even though we don't mean it right. Sorry, but
you know, when does anybody remember that bit we used
to do here called what the hell did Jesse Jackson say?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Well, guess what we're bringing him back to night?

Speaker 1 (02:35):
So uh, we used to run. We used to run
Jesse Jackson clips and ask people what what what they thought.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
He was saying?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
And we ran for like twelve thirteen years. But every Saturday,
Jesse Jackson would host and and have his own congregation
in Chicago for Rainbow Push, and I was in charge
of recording it on DVR. You guys remember some DVR
run And then I would have to edit it and
we could we could get out of a sixty minute sermon.

(03:03):
We could probably get I don't know, like maybe one
hundred good clips. And the one thing I remember, literally
a week after I had my daughter in October back
in two thousand and five, Jesse Jackson said, and I
remember this, he said, it's not what you give them,
it's where you take them. It's what it's where you
take them. And it looks like you take those kids

(03:25):
everywhere you go. Huh, all the time, everywhere you go.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
That is great.

get to listen to what they want.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Old school dad runs the radio? Is that right? Do

a private Catholic school? Private Episcopal school?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Well, I mean, dad, you know by now, and I
think most of this crowd does. The only real way
to have it is through Catholicism.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I don't know that.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I've never seen anybody.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
I've never seen a crowd leave so quickly.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Yeah, we had a guy here. I don't know where
he is.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
I think it's this guy here who said, are you
gonna do the Jesse Jackson thing again? I said, I
don't know if we're gonna do it or not. Maybe
we'll take a shot at it. Who knows, Come on,
come on, come on, all right, all right, maybe we'll
have to bring it back.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
What the hell?

Speaker 1 (06:04):

were talking about the one that was down here, the
first one that I actually went to first as soon
as I got off the five freeway, and you said
that was one of the older ones, and they're going
to refurbish that one too at some point.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yes, I can't believe that that big chili is less
than thirteen dollars. Yeah, that's that's unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
About the right size for you.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, but but I don't know how you guys are
making money on that. Well, it depends because I mean,
you know, you could feed a family of five with
that chili lid, you know, with that big chili.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I'm okay, we've got to get in here to spend money.

Speaker 8 (07:50):
If they want to come every day and get a
bucket of chili, I'll be happy to do.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
And I can't thank you enough for helping with Katarina's Club.

do that out of the kindness your heart, and all
these kids get to eat and people get to enjoy
the coupon books.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, you can't beat it.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
I mean, you know, you feed the kid for a week,
that's right, and then you get fourteen dollars worth of.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Free food to go with it. It really is great.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
You can't feed it.

Speaker 3 (08:38):

That came out pretty quick?

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Actually it did. Yeah.

time and then they decide which one they want to
bring out.

Speaker 1 (10:20):

how it looks nice?

Speaker 3 (10:25):

you cook it. It's fresh every day.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Oh yeah, A couple of times a day we make
a batch.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Oh man, it is great.

Speaker 1 (10:52):

because every Wednesdays I go to it.

Speaker 3 (10:55):

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Look, I have a chicken on the ceiling. I remember
that one.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
That's right for people who missed that story.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I used to work at a place called Amber's Chicken,
and it's not there anymore, partially because of me. But
when we got frozen chicken sent to us, it was
broasted chicken, so high pressure oil fried chicken. And when
we'd order a box of chicken, we'd get twenty four breasts,
twenty four thighs, twenty four legs, and twenty eight wings.

(11:46):
I don't know how that happened. So we always had
four extra wings. So when we'd bred them, we'd bred
them and then we'd stick them to the ceiling. And
they stuck to the ceiling beautifully until the owner got
there one day and it fell down next to his
foot and he said who did that?

Speaker 3 (12:05):
And I said, I did it. He took the apron
get out. That was my last day, My last day.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I've been fired from every single job I've ever had kids.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
That's not the way to go. Try to state it.
Try to keep the job. If you got one.

thank you for coming by. It really it means a

(25:43):
lot to us when you guys come out in these
kind of numbers. When when I drove up, I honestly
guid I thought there'd be four or five, maybe six
people here, including the people that we invited and worked with.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
But this was great. We had they said about one.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Hundred and fifty to almost two hundred people here throughout
the night. So thank you very much, fantastic, thank you,
and couldn't do it every night. There's big Krozier fans
over here. Oh yeah, and and and.

Big guy Crozier haters in this area. That's more like it,
even South.

Speaker 5 (26:22):
Even he you are the Krozier fans, the high bidders
for the night.

Speaker 9 (26:25):
In the hot tub with yes, yeah, and cuddled by
the fireplace of your.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Choice, that right you know I had, If you can tell,
I got my hair cut today and the uh uh,
the woman who does it for the last you know,
ten years or so, she was going through something.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
Obviously today didn't work out.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
But she she always gives me a bottle of wine
and for Thanksgiving, her Christmas. She's a beautiful woman, very nice.
Her name is Nina. She works in Burbank, and she
always gives me a bottle of wine. And I've always
I've told the story on the air bunch times when
I was fifteen, kids, this isn't for you. When I
was fifteen, I drank my first bottle of wine and

(27:08):
I left my friend's house. Matt McDaniel used to live
near a bal ball park. I left this house to
take my bike home and I fell off the front
porch and I didn't put my hands out to brace myself.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
I felt right on my face. My face was.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
All scarred up and bleeding, and so I stayed overnight
because I knew my mom would be angry. Stayed overnight
at my buddy Matt's house, and I rode my bike
home in the morning, and I was scarred everywhere. It
looks like I was run over by a truck. And
so I get home and my dad standing outside and
I see him standing. So I go buy the house

(27:43):
and I smashed my car into a tree.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
I mean my bike.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
I smashed my bike into a tree, and I break
my bike apart, and I take my bike home and
my dad looks me and goes, what happened. I go,
I got into a bike accident. I destroyed my bike,
and this is why I'm bleeding. And he looks at
me and he looks closer. He said, he said, you
ran your I said, yeah, I ran my bike. I
ran into a building.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
And he goes on. He goes, was that building a winery?
He knew it. He could smell it. He smelled the wine.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
So that was the last glass of wine I've ever
had when I was fifteen.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
So what was that? Oh yes, yes, ding dong.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
So the lady who's been cutting my hair sheets beautiful woman,
she's been doing for about eight to ten years. She
gives me a bottle of wine every Christmas and then
I always tell her that story, how I have my
first and last glass of wine when I was fifteen,
and then she gives me another one the next year,
and I always tell her I've never had wine before.
I mean in fifty in fifty and forty years, I've

(28:50):
had lass one and then next I get another bottle.
So I walked to the place where I get my haircut,
and on the way home, unlike you know, mission v Ah,
there's always plenty of homeless guys to hand it off to.
So I'm walking home and you know, just give it. Hey,
now you doing Merry Christmas. Nice to see it, and
they're always very nice.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Very glad to get it.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
So I told that story on the air, and I
was walking out today again my haircut, and I think
this is why she did this to my hair.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
I think she was really pissed.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
And as I was walking out, she said, I hope
that bottle makes it home this year.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
I'm like, oh, she's hurt me, She's hurt it. This
is her getting back at me.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
This area anyway, like thank Crozier, Angel Martinez.

Speaker 10 (29:47):

Speaker 1 (30:10):

Bill Handle for coming by.

Speaker 3 (30:19):

Speaker 5 (30:21):

tonight they've donated twenty five hundred.

Speaker 3 (30:26):

Now I don't have to donate.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
They said anything over two grand and I'm I'm clean.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
They saved you, they did, Yeah, they saved But.

Speaker 1 (30:42):

where everybody's you know, looking to us save every dollar.

that you do this, so really appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (31:23):

Speaker 1 (31:25):
I got home today and my my and my wife said,
she looks at me and she goes, she goes, what happened?
So when you get home from getting a haircut and
my wife goes, what happened.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
She's getting the fight on the way home.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
It was it was I don't know what happened was
it was crazy, it was crazy boom. But she's she's
one of those beautiful people ever. And she said this
to me today. She's Vietnamese and and and she was
she heard that our dog was sick. And I said, yeah,
you know, she made it. Our dog is fine, thank god.
You know, she's gonna be okay. And I said, I said,

(32:01):
do you have a dog, And she said no. She said,
growing up in Vietnam, she said her grandfather wouldn't allowed her.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
To have dogs because they got too attached to them.
And I'm like, but that's where you're supposed to be doting.
I think that's the point, that's right. I'm like, oh, hey,
I think you're about but she she really is great.
You know her.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
When she got to this country, her her name and
her legal name still is new and you and so
she worked at a salon and she would introduce herself
to new customers and she'd say, hey, may I cut
your hair?

Speaker 3 (32:42):
