Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to The
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
It is the Conway Show, all right, ding dong, It
is Tuesday. Mark Thompson's not here. Hopefully we'll catch him
next week or the week after. He's been busy man,
busy man. He went back to see his mom, his
dear mom, who I believe is like ninety eight. His
mom and dad both reached to their late nineties, which.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
It should be ninety five this Mother's Day? Is that right? Okay?
Ninety five? Man? Oh man, what a run that is?
Ninety five? How old you croach? Eighty five? You're eighty five?
You're your fifties, right, yes, sir?

Speaker 3 (00:43):
All right?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So you imagine another thirty years? No, I do not,
And I'm working to ensure that.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Hey, I saw this thing on sixty minutes over the weekend,
that AI might eliminate all diseases over the next thirty years.
You know, once AI gets all cranked up, they can
figure out how to beat the every disease, cancer, everything
in the next thirty years. Oh right, you can make
it to another thirty years. It might be four hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
You know, can it stop me from aging? Because otherwise
what's the point.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, I think it can, because aging is you know,
is getting Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yeah, So I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Maybe maybe with my luck, I'm going to be the
guy who's like the last one to have something like
what oh no, whatever, the boat, whatever the final illness
is that AI doesn't cure, I'll probably have any the
last guy out.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
All right, that's Sam who's sitting in for Stephush today.
Shaquille O'Neal has left the building. Oh he's alive. He's alive.
He's left, but he was doing his TNT show. I
think it's with Ernie Johnson, isn't that.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Right, Kenny the Jet Smith and Charles Barkley.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, and I guess Shaq's been on this olive oil
kick where you take a shot of olive oil every
day and it cleans out your system.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Well, it was cleaning him out while he was on.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
The air, and so he had to literally stand up
out of his chair while they're on the air, walk
off the set to go catch ah. Well, I can't
say what they said on the air, but to to
go poo poos? How about that? Twenty twenty five. That's
what that's what we got to say. You'd have to

(02:28):
dump that, he said, Shack, Yeah, you're cool, You're cool,
You're cool.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
But let's but the video is great.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
The video is great, him just getting up and doing
that sort of crazy walk where you can't take the
pain anymore. You got to hit that can. Here's the audio.
The auto is not as funny as the video, but
we're we're an audio business.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
So that's all you get here.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
And and look, hey, look your imagination is much better
than anything you could see on TV.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Sully right, you're probably right.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Like when you read a book, always say the books
better than the movie, because you know you have a
good imagination.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
When he was walking, when he was when Shank was
walking off stage, did he say it's happening?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
And he should have should it's happening? The elbows going
up high? Can we post it on social media? The video?
Oh yeah, I already did you did? Where is it?

(03:34):
It's on x X. Okay, take a look. Normally at
Conway Shore.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
While you're there, there you go always asking I got that,
I get that.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I'm including I get it, I get it? All right,
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
It's the audio version of Shaquille O'Neal going off to
the men's room.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
The thing about is, you know what you're right, big,
I'll catch it.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
See I can't play that. But he said, yeah, you're
catching a c and then he used the C word
for poopos.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yeah, cat it.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
I never heard that term before.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I'm gonna use that catching a c R catching one, Yeah,
catching one.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
The same is taking one. That's not you leaving one, right.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I always thought that was odd. I'm gonna take one.
You know where you where you're going with it?

Speaker 2 (04:19):
No, no, no, no, yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Go ahead, keep talking joke. Bill were on TV.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
We don't.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
That's so he gets up out of his seat.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
We're doing He gets up out of his chair and
he walks right in front of all the other three
guys in front of the camera, and he made a
B line to the toilet.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
We keep talking, joke. Yeah, we on TV.

Speaker 8 (04:42):
Know what we do.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
We're doing. We're on TV.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Bill, were on TV.

Speaker 7 (04:47):
What we've been drinking?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Hey take some matches with.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Kind of loose over there, t n T hey take
the message.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Hey take some matches with.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Olive ball. He listened, he could hold it.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
That's what some.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
As he's leaving the stage. Charles Barkley just goes.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Olive ball, olive oil, and not the Popeye character.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Olive oil. Olive ball.

Speaker 7 (05:29):
Hey listened, he could hold it at the forty. You
can't hold it?

Speaker 6 (05:32):
What's it?

Speaker 5 (05:32):
First?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
You kill.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Something that wasn't something planned?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
No?

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Listen?

Speaker 7 (05:40):
He was in the back talking about he's a drink
alcohol and clear he's been drinking.

Speaker 8 (05:46):
I didn't want to clean his gun. It's cleaning.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I did not like his gait.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Is he not right there?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Okay, this is great.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
So Ernie Johnson used the term that most people watching
basketball probably wouldn't know. They didn't like his gate, and
so he had to come back and explain I didn't
like his walk.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
That's what a gate is. And he had to explain
it to the audience. I did not like his gate.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
You could you could just settle with I didn't like
his gate. But now he's like, it's d nt guys
watching basketball, they're drunk, they don't know what that is.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I'll I'll fix it for him. I did not like
his gate. That was not a terrible walk right there.

Speaker 7 (06:28):
He've been drinking, he says.

Speaker 9 (06:31):
He read somewhere, if you drink.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
A shot of olive ball.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
I saw them doing that the other day in the
Make or poof.

Speaker 7 (06:39):
They've been doing it, They've been doing it, they gonna
do it.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
You have to do it for two weeks, miss a
lot of airtimes. Listen.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I just hope we got enough matches around mic Off.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
That's another issue.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Hey, somebody go get some lighters.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
All right, Yeah, let's can't you can't.

Speaker 7 (06:58):
How do we say it away from he can't even
make it.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
I've never seen that before in my life, where a
guy walks off the set to go take a deuce,
I've never seen it.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
He keeps his feet close together because you know, he
doesn't want to have too long of a gate, but
then he makes up for it with his big arm
swings and.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
He's wearing a powder blue suit. It's just not your
friend there.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
You know that crossed his mind, and so could I
know I got a powdered blue shirt. That's no way
I'm staying here.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
All three of those guys were staring at his ass
when he left.

Speaker 7 (07:33):
What I was going to say about Kawhi and he
has before he goes, we need to get to thick,
I was, He reminds me here he is.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Okay, then he comes back, shacks back, he's lifting there
was the gate.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Hey number one, drinking.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
That water okay, Hey listen man.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Drinking little water, drinking water. Talk so that much.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Finish your points that we can go to break.

Speaker 9 (08:08):
There like.

Speaker 8 (08:10):
A sorry about that, America.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Sorry America.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
I'm sorry about America.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
I'm sorry about that, America. That is so classic.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Man.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
We got two great sound bites there.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
We've got the TV on TV and olive all olive
all ah. That is great man, what a what a
night for T n T and everybody enjoys that, right,
olive all olive all that.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Walk of him walking out of the studio.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
He's going to be posted everywhere with different kinds of music,
music behind it.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
It's going to take off. Keep talking talking, Jeff.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, sorry America, Sorry about.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
That, America. That's so great. All right, Well there you
got some fun now.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
In the afternoon here, right, we'll get back to uh
murders and burglaries and you know the craft is LA
but I thought that was funny. We're live on KFI.
Also when we come back, we have a King's update.
The game was last night. That was a wild, wild game.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Last night.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
We'll talk about that we come back. Oh what a
great song. That's what's her name, Stephan raft Dula. I
like to go see her in concert, Dua Lipa. Just
sit there by myself all weird, you know. I'd like
to see Dua Leapa. She's coming in October, I think
to U so far or the Kia form somewhere in

(09:45):
Englewood stunning.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Yeah, she's great. She's great at Dua Lipa. Man, we
got news on that judge.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
As Krozer was talking about that, that crazy judge that
killed his wife.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
She was found or he was found guilty. Wow. Did
that just happen? Cross? That just came out? It did
in the last hour. Yeah, man, that was quick. That retrial. Yeah,
that retrial didn't take long at all.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
I think one of the things that I saw happened
was is that they pulled one of the alternate jurors
from the from the first trial.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
The prosecutors did.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
And they put him in the in the jury room
with the jury to try to tell him that this
is what we had to deal with in the first trial.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Oh I see, which is like, who's ever heard of that? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Jeffrey Ferguson he's he's done. You know, he knew the rules,
he knew the boundaries. Mahaalo with this guy. Yep, he
was found guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty of killing his wife.
And so that just happened in Santa Anna, a jury
found former Orange County Superior Court judge guilty of intentionally

(10:51):
killing his wife in twenty twenty three.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Wow, it's sort of breaking news, right we.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
The jury and the title action find the defendant, Jeffrey
Malcolm Ferguson, guilty of the crime of murder in the
second degree.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Breaking news. You heard that clerk reading the verdict right there.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Former Orange County judge Jeffrey Ferguson found guilty of murdering
his wife.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I'm Mark Cutterbliss, I'm Jovon Alada.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
That verdict was read aloud just moments before we came
on the air. Ferguson was found guilty of second degree
murder in the shooting death of his wife at their
Anaheim Hills home two years ago. This is his second trial.
You may recall the first one ended in a mistrial
when the jury was deadlocked and could not reach a verdict.
That wasn't the case today. Our David Gonzalez has been

(11:39):
following this trial from the very beginning. He is gathering
more information and.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
We're gathering more information as well. He was a sort
of a weird twist in that case because he's a
Superior court judge.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
He's going to say to see Pert Francis in one,
so he's.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Going to sentence himself. Is that true? That can't be true.
I think somebody is pulling my leg there, Adam Mighty,
I tell you the extension an extension court here?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Yeah, yeah, I've noticed you vision that was going on there.
I get tied up every day with that GD cord.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
There's an extension cord on the bottom and I constantly
get my leg wrapped around it and then pull all
the other wires. Who needs an extension court?

Speaker 8 (12:16):
Here?

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Is somebody coming in here not plugged in anything. Is
Larry here? You remember?

Speaker 1 (12:23):
You don't remember this guy? I think he still works here.
There's a guy named Larry who works here at iHeartMedia.
And he brings in his battery. He's got a house battery,
like one of those you know, big whole house batteries.
It's one hundred and twenty pounds. He wheels it in
every day and he charges his battery here, you know,
for the ten hours he's here, he plugs into a

(12:45):
wall and he charges. He takes the electricity here from
my heart and then uses it at home. And I
thought that was odd, you know, kind of a low
end move. You're bringing in your whole house battery every
day to charge it up and then go home and
turn the light and keep the refrigerator on with electricity
from my heart media. I don't know, maybe it's just me,

(13:06):
but I thought that was a low end move. But
you know what I've seen low end moves before payoff.
We used to work with a guy named Michael over
a Kala Sex and I don't want to say his
last name, but.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
He used to collect cans.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
You know, whenever somebody would finish a coke can or whatever,
you'd always go to Michael's office and drop it in,
or he would go around the office at after work
and collect and go through trash and collect cans.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
A real low end move.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
And yet after doing that for like ten years, he
disappeared and everyone's like, hey, where's Michael. Where's he hasn't
been around lately. He bought a condo in Maui. He
saved so much money. He was a saver. He saved
so much money on his salary and collecting all those cans.
He bought a condo on Maui. Wow, And so he

(14:00):
had the last laugh. You know, he looked like an
idiot for fifteen years that I worked with him, you know,
collecting everybody's cans. Whenever we'd go out into an event,
when we'd have like a remote, he would take all
the cans from the remote and stick them in his car.
And I always thought, got a mighty I don't know
how you get chicks doing that. You know, you're going
to go home with a guy with the bag of cans.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
I think, you know, he just I don't know if
it's worth it. Yeah, of course he's in a Maui condo.
But where are you in life?

Speaker 3 (14:31):
You know?

Speaker 1 (14:32):
And I'd like to see the Maui condo that you know,
the pep pepsi cans bought. I'd like to see how
that where that is and how that's decorated, Like they
would check that out.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Also, Wango Tango is upon us. Wango Tango is on.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Sale now through May Second Iheart's Wango Tango presented by
by Fiji Airways.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
That sounds pretty hot.

Speaker 1 (14:59):

(15:49):

sound like it's one person.

Speaker 9 (15:55):

Speaker 2 (15:56):
I love that person. You talk about their music? Yeah,
I love A two and then Hearts to Hearts? Was

you're in, You're in. Where are you, Irvine? Can you
hook me up with tickets? I think so? I think so.
I think you know, I'm sure we could.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
You don't think you can get two tickets on the
beach from my heart media just standing there with you
and John his skis.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
He might leave the skis at home. Maybe, I don't know.
Guess pretty attached to those.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Skis, you know, but I've noticed that with skiers my
sisters the same way.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
She's like eight pair.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
And when her condo or her house or her home
was almost burned to the ground in Malibu, she sends
somebody in to get all of her skis, f everything else,
just grab the skis.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
And she said, not one, not two, but all of them, right,
And I said, what about the pictures of Dad? And
she goes, ah, that's the you know, everyone's got a dad.
I need those skies.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I need those skis man girls, Scott Priority, Yeah, she does,
she does, and she skis up with uh, you know,
and this is not me saying this don't write letters.
I've heard this before. She skis with the poor up
in Mammoth. That's where poor people ski.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Oh yeah, that's that's inaccurate.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Is that right?

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yes, but I'm just saying it. I just heard that
the wealthy people go to.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Aspen Veil, Steamboat Springs, Alta Park City and then they
cheap people are high tailing it up to Mammoth.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
That's wrong. Yeah, that's wrong.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Okay, I stay corrected. Pelly O goes to Mammoth. I
see how they she's offended by that. Oh that sounds
it kind of fits.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Angel skis where do you ski? Angel snow Bird and
Alta in Utah. Yeah, that's kind of cool. Yeah, it's
kind of cool. Yeah. What are you getting paid by
the word today? Sounds like she's waiting for the punchline

(18:36):
or something. I know, I kidding. I never know what's
gonna happen anything. I say no idea. I have no idea.
What's going to go on?

Speaker 1 (18:47):
If I'm a pension bird today a pension hawk? All right,
well we could beat Patrick O'Neill's gonna come on with us.
We'll talk about the La Kings. They had an unbelieve
game last night I was watching the game. Kings were
up four nothing. My wife walked through the living room

(19:07):
and she looked at the score and she goes, oh,
they're up four nothing.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
They got this. I got sit down.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
I've been a Kingsgate fan for fifty fifty five years.
Watch this. This is nowhere near finished.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
They were up four nothing, right, watch that third quarter?

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Go oh yeah, they were up four nothing with a
minute and a half left in the second period. So
there's twenty one minutes left in the game. We're up
for nothing, and they were tied nineteen minutes later at
five to five.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
So there you go, as or are those are our Kings? Man?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
All right, we'll talk to Patrick O'Neil, see what's going on.
The next game is Wednesday. Kings win Game one six
to five in really unbelievable fashion. I don't think I've
ever seen a game end like that in my life.
Relve on kfive.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
The Los Angeles Kings won last night, but they were
up four to nothing with about two minutes left in
the second period, and they ended up winning the game
in the last half minute or so, six to five,
and it felt like a loss. Patrick O'Neill is with
us with the Los Angeles Kings, Buddy, I hate games
like that, man.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Is is this the Los Angeles Kings emotionals? And you know,
did you just say did you just say it felt
like a lost one game? One?

Speaker 1 (21:08):
I know, but but did you hear Coppaitar and the
guys afterwards? He said, well, we're gonna learn from this
game and move on. Those guys talked about it like
it was a laws.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Listen when Phil Dido said I got all of that puck,
I mean he absolutely It was a fluttery fan on
it and went in. They had so many chances, the
Kings to put that game away, right, They had the
two main advantage when when they challenged the pucket didn't last,
it didn't there's the empty net. Three chances and they
missed when they tied it up. It was just it
was the worst feeling I think I've ever felt in

(21:37):
a hockey game.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
That could have been nine to four that game easily.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Yeah, they had they they definitely should not have allowed me.
But McDavid man, you see that guy at the end
of the game to put the game on his back,
and those those three goals laid with a six on
five and then I thought we're going to overtime. And
then you just think, what am I gonna say? I
got to do a postal shore if they lose this game.
I started, I start thinking about myself from what I'm
gonna do.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
We'll get him Wednesday, Oh.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
God, but then I have to go up to Edmonton.
There's no direct flights. And then one oh, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Think about that.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
I don't know what you say if they would have
lost that game six to five instead of wanted six
to five, What do you tell the fans afterwards?

Speaker 2 (22:18):
You know I will get you next year.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
I listen. I've had so many chances and opportunities to
practice this very art because I have covered the Angels
in the last ten years, and I've covered the Kings
when they have lost it. But I've also covered winning teams.
You figure it out, You figured it out, you bounced back.
I am pretty optimist.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Okay, for people that didn't watch the game last night,
the Kings were four to nothing with two minutes left
in the second period, and then Edmonton scored five goals
in before in the third period, one and late in
the second period, and it was tied five to five
with about forty five seconds left.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
For a minute left right and then Zeidislav Gafferkov made
a great stick play on Connor McDavid, and then suddenly
the puckets in the open ice cover More comes down
and then he stops up right inside the line and
he dishes it back to Deno and Leon Dreichstle is
not backchecking he's slowed down, and then you got Lord
Foegel driving the net and he jumps you somehow the

(23:12):
puckle's right through his legs. He gets past Skinner and
then they have to hang on because it looked like
Edmonton was going to tie it again. By far. It
was the most shocking, craziest hockey game playoff game I've
ever seen. But thank god they won it, and that's
all that matters. And how's that practice today, right, that's
all that daycare.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
They won the game, right, and the fans got a
real treaty. They got every cent of their money they
paid last night.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
The harmonica, by the way, at the beginning of the game,
these Korean ladies. That thing went viral, and I have
a feeling con with it. They're going to bring these
ladies back. I think I was.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
At the Chicago game when they introduced that crew, and
I thought, this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen
in my life. And then I saw it last night,
and I think it's the greatest thing I've ever seen
in my life because it's so quiet that you hear
the entire audience sing that song, and it's been deck
since I've heard that.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
You got chills, right, I mean that was so.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I got chills just now saying it.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
It was so great, and I think that you gotta
ride it. I got to get the Lakers back up
there with harmonicas and this is gonna be the rally in.
Did you know there's no harmonica emoji? And I think
we got to put it. We gotta because I keep
typing it in and there's nothing that comes up.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Patrick O'Neil's with us, Meli King's.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
I got a great stat for you here. If the
home team wins the first game in the NHL and
A seven game series, they go on to win the
series seventy five percent of the time.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Does this stat the people that write these stats that
they know they we're playing the owners of the sports
consecutive Beer and Avada. You know, because as when we're fans,
we are fatalists. We do not believe that it's gonna happen,
that we're gonna somehow get over the hup against Conor McDavid.
But thank god we have home ice. If we somehow
could win tomorrow and go up to Edmonton up to
steal game three, steal one of those and come back

(24:54):
number in twenty two, the Kings had a chance on home.
I know, the first of the three. They had Game
six at home that beat these guys. So you just
it's not over till it's over. It's gonna be tough.
He's so good. McDavid.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Oh my god, I remember the seventies. That seventies line
with Carter Tanner Pearson I think it was Tofoley was.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
The other one.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
And then the new line I like is copuitar Kempe
and kuz Kuzmenko.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Yeah, Andre Kuzmeko. Yeah, Well do you like the do
you like?

Speaker 6 (25:23):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Do we name the line the special K line? Do
you like triple A with Andre and uh Adrian and Andre?
I'm going with special K. But by the way, Kuzmenko
had three points. That was his first ever playoff game.
The guys all over the ice playing, we got a
power play goal. Love this guy. He's brought some energy.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I noticed that none of the fans were going with
the KKK line.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Okay, you know what, I have a bad I have
a bad connection. I bet suddenly you're breaking up. I don't.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
I can't believe the Kings won that game.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Oh it was the best I gotta tell you.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
I got Patrick.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
I gotta tell you something. I've been at Kings fen
since I was born. My wife has been a Kings
fan since like the I don't know, maybe the eighties
or so. And she walked through the living room last
night while I was watching. She goes, oh, for nothing,
they've got this, and I go, baby, you got to
sit down.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
They're not even close to getting this.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
And she sat down and watched the third period and
she goes, how did you know that? And I said
fifty five years?

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Yeah, yeah, I can't believe she said that. By the way,
you have to ban her from their but yeah, it was.
It's hard to really put into words when they tied
that up, how we fell them. Sitting next to my partner,
Jared Stole right, we the pre and the post game shows,
and we were just and we were so stunned. And
this guy's seen it, always played one hundred playoff games.
We've never seen anything quite like that when we had

(26:49):
so many chances to put it away. So I just
think in game two, you know, you got to play
the full sixty all these cliche days and gosh, man,
we got it. We gotta we gotta win it. We
gotta do it.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
I love the scoring. Those four goals that the Kings
had were terrific. As a matter of fact, that first
one that Buyfield almost got but went to Kuzamenko was great.
I mean both those guys had a shot at that goal.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Yeah, power play goal. But how about to play from
from Quinton Buyfield the hand eye with the left he
puts it down, he banks it in off Skinner. It's
years old, he's twenty two and he is he's otherworldly.
And Fiala with the bombs and Kent Bee with the goal.
And and to know with two goals, you know, because
you only had eight in the regular season, we really
do have a deep team and we just worked great

(27:34):
for some reason late defensively.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
But I ask a question, all right, Patrick O'Neil's with
his Lli Kings, let me ask you a question. Two
years ago, me, along with my other two buddies, David
and Tucsak, took many and we all agreed that Byfield
was one of the worst players in the NHL, and
now he's the best.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
What did he do in the last two years to
turn that around?

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Well, he grew into his body and he's become more.
And you know, he's always been a centerment in his
whole life. Right we put him on the wing last year,
you know, up with Kempe and Copeaitar. But but he's
a centerman and he just he's right down. I got
up to a slow start. And he's then a pointed
game player since February first. He's he's so fast, big, strong, full,

(28:17):
two hundred feet, great backcheck, he kills penalties. He's one
of the great pick because.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
He's one of the great players in the NHL right now,
one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
And when he got drafted, you know, people are like,
oh that, you know, they they should have taken this player,
that player, the kid that's you know, you know, putting
up a ton of like like Stutzel. Right he was
available and he could score thirty forty goals. Right now,
there's not one single person that could tell you that
they're not happy that Quintin Bisen was selected to overall
he's he's and then brand Clark. We had so many
guys playing their first playoff game last night and they

(28:47):
rose to the occasion. It was it was are you
going which which where are you going to?

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I'm so I'm too nervous to go because if I go,
they lose.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
So I stay at home and watch. I take one
for the team work. Yeah, I take your work. You
have a job, I think, buddy.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
I congratulations on the win last night. I hope we
I hope the Kings can get through this series.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
That would be huge.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Yeah. I just want to say one thing. You know,
people need to watch our network and selfishly, don't you
the national broadcast. I don't watch the Sanduel Sports. We
got Nick Nixon, the Jim Fox Corlin. It's the best crew.
So we need the positive, the vibe.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
I love it. I watch you every night, man, every night.
Thanks for coming on. All right, take care everybody. All right.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Patrick O'Neill host reporter p XP covering the Angels and
the La Kings.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
There you go, ding Dong with that? Does that mean
play by play? Yes? XP, I like that. He's a PXP.
He's a great PXP. Yeah, covering the Angels and the
La Kings. Patrick O'Neill, Patrick O'Neill, p XP, ding dong

(29:59):
with that guy?

Speaker 3 (30:00):
All right?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
The King's up one. Nothing gets Edmonton.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Seventy five percent of the time the home team wins
the first game in the NHL. They go on to
win the series. That's a great stat We're live on KFI.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
This US a six fourys Conway show. Well, we were
talking about this earlier.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
There is a judge in Orange County who killed his
wife and they were they went to prosecute him. They
just missed by one vote in the jury. And now
they got him. They got him, and it was it
was really a fast moving train where they got this

(30:39):
guy again. And and so they convicted this guy literally
like an hour ago. The jurors began deliberation on Monday yesterday,
and and they got this guy in Anaheim Hills who
wiped out his wife. So it looks like lots of
jail time. And you know what is that Todd Spitzer

(31:02):
on the line. Oh Todd Spitzer, the Orange County District Attorney. Hey, buddy, buddy,
I can't believe how quickly this Jeffrey Ferguson trial started
and ended.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
How'd you do that?

Speaker 9 (31:12):
So I want to give all the credit to Judge Hunter.
She's a superior court judge from Los Angeles. Of course
they brought in an out of county judge because we
were prosecuting a name county judge, and so none of
the bench officers here could oversee the case. But you know,
we did the first trial, as you teed it up,
and it was eleven to one, and you know, we

(31:33):
have to convince twelve strangers members of the community beyond
a reasonable doubt. I made a commitment, Dan, I was
on your show. You gave me tons of times, and
I made a commitment to get justice for this victim.
Let me just tell you something to him, like you know,
there was a lot of talkamami defenses, and he went
on a whole media I don't you know. He did
all this television after the first trial trying to persuade

(31:56):
the jury pool get sympathy, cried a lot. This jury
found not only him guilty of second degree murder, it
found him that he used a firearm in the commission
of the murder. So what that means is that they
found he had express malice. In other words, they found
that he did a reckless act that was depraved and

(32:18):
that as a result, he killed his wife. And so
we didn't prove first degree murder that he planned it
and it was premeditated or lying in wait or anything
like that, but they believed and We argued that this
was something he did intentionally. It was a dangerous act.
He'd been drinking. He drank, you know. We found out
he would drink at lunch and come back and adjudicate

(32:42):
cases as a judge. So now I have to review
any in all cases that come forward that he refused.
So he created syptimist. But let me just say this,
his wife, Cheryl, was a lovely person. I knew her
for decades.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
What did she do it? Was he in law enforcement
or was he a judge?

Speaker 9 (33:00):
No, she worked for one of his good friends, attorney
in private practice. She did some clerk work for him.
The son, Philip, as an adult now, was in college
at the time of the murder. This poor I feel
so sorry for Philip. He's such a good young man.
You know. He gave the police the statements at the

(33:20):
time the murder happened. We used those statements in the trial,
and I made it very clear at the press conference
we just held them. I want to say it here, Tim,
he should not feel guilty in any way whatsoever. That
his his testimony, watching his mom shot in his presence,
having to wrestle his father to the ground to get
the gun away, having to arm himself with a Samurai

(33:41):
sword because he was afraid his father was going to
continue shooting.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
What a samman.

Speaker 9 (33:46):
His life should not be ruined because his father decided
to kill his mother.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah, I agree. I think it's great though in Orange County.
I mean, look, and over the course of those two trials,
twenty three of the twenty four jurors to side with you.

Speaker 9 (34:04):
Oh, well, here in my business. You know, I know
you have your ratings, and you know you're Sugram director.
Well keep you on the air if you get your number.
I have to get twelve every single time while I'm
out of business.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
I know.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
And it's a big deal. And I think you're right.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
I think a lot of these local TV stations gave
this guy a free ride and interviewed him and tried to,
you know, create some sympathy for this guy. I think
that's sort of disgraceful in and of itself.

Speaker 9 (34:34):
Well, it came up during the trial that judge let
it in that we asked him a few questions. My
prosecutors Seaton hut and Jason Cunningham and their team did
a phenomenal job, and we.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Brought it up.

Speaker 9 (34:45):
We didn't want to bring too much up about it,
because we didn't want him to say, well, now I
get to play the tapes, and then now this jury
gets to see that dog and Pony show. So we
just were very limited.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Hey, Todd, I've got to take a break.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Can you stay with us because I want to ask
few when we come back, what happens to this guy?

Speaker 9 (35:02):
You got it?

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Okay? All right, Todd Spitzer's with us.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
The Orange County District Attorney will come back and find
out what happens to what happens to Jeffrey Ferguson, judge
found guilty of killing his wife.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
