Israel and Hamas have agreed to atwo day extension to the ceasefire, which
should mean twenty more hostages are goingto be released as part of a fourth
swap under the original deal. Amasreleased eleven Israelis last night, and Israel
released thirty three Palestinians. LA firecrews have been fighting a massive fire burning
at a construction site in South LA. They say buildings under construction caught fire

(02:47):
early this morning and spread to atleast four other buildings in the neighborhood.
Google says it's going to start purginginactive Google accounts. The company says it's
going to delete the accounts starting inDecember for security reasons. You can keep
your account active by logging in inat least once every two years. At
six oh five, we're doing handleon the news live from the Anaheim White

(03:08):
House, and it is official.More people flew on Sunday than any other
day ever. Let's start with someof the stories coming out of the KFI
twenty four hour newsroom. As Imentioned the La City fire crews fighting that
massive fire. We're headed out tothe scene and we'll bring you the latest
on that burning in South LA.Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend their

(03:29):
ceasefire for another day. ABC's MattGutman says eleven hostages were released by Hamas
yesterday, which marked the fourth dayof the truce. We don't know much
about the health of the remaining hostageand that is a huge bone of contention
for Israel. They are demanding thatthe Red Cross be given access to the
remaining hostages. We believe it's aroundone hundred and fifty at this point.

(03:50):
Gutman says a lot of the remaininghostages are men who have seen their families
released. Over the past several days. Israel has said it would extend the
ceasefire by one day for every tenhostages released. A man accused of shooting
three Palestinian College students in Vermont haspleaded not guilty and is being held without
bail. The mother of one ofthe students says her son has a bullet

(04:12):
in his spine. I don't knowwhat he'll be like. He may have
to be in a wheelchair. Ibelieve that he won't be I believe that
he'll be able to walk, buthis life has been taken away from him
as it is, and he's goingto have to recreate this new life.
She says, she's shaken, hollowinside and aching to be with her son,
who is lying immobilized in a hospitalbed. One of the students who

(04:32):
suffered a less severe injury was senthome from the hospital yesterday. Investigators are
looking into whether the shooting Sunday wasa hate crime. Ten commemorative plaques have
been ripped off the El Pueblo deLos Angeles Historical Monument at Olvera Street,
polis A. Thieves used sledgehammers toknock the bronze plaques commemorating LA's history off
walls and out of the ground inthe last couple of weeks. Replacing the

(04:56):
plaques is expected to cost more thanone hundred thousand dollars. It is is
Pastathon twenty twenty three. We arebroadcasting live at the Anaheim White House and
invite you to come down. Ohlook who's in the house. It's Neil
Sevader, the Fork Reporter. ThanksNeil. And you know we couldn't do
any of this if it wasn't forChef Bruno. So let's get the day

(05:18):
started right and say good morning tothe man the myth, the legend Bruno
Sorato Bon bon Jo two K fivelistener all around the world. Yeah,
and today I'm going to tell youwe kind of snuck away to get away
from the craziness that is Pastathon. So we're down in the wine cellar,

(05:38):
my favorite place. We're not gonnaimvibe quite this early in the morning.
But tell us what we expect todaybecause it's a big day. It's Pastathon.
It's here, Oh, the busiestday of the year for Katerina's Club.
We started this early. We goldwent on to tonight and people call,
people come over. They live inpasta Tomato, give it donation.

(05:59):
It's a amazing the response of allthe K five listener it's really overwhelming.
People love what we do. Theylove K five obviously is without K five,
we won't be what we do todayfor Caterina's Club, and we will
not be where we are without BrunosSerrato. Thank you, thank you.

(06:19):
Yeah, so's There's so many fabulousthings about this organization and what you do.
One is that you feed how manykids a week? We are twenty
five thousand meals weekly, over amillion a year, which is basic.
Ob five thousand meals a day.We are in one another in ten location,

(06:39):
tourist city in Orange County, anduh, there's all the projects then
follow us, but I'm not responsiblefor them. I'm only response for Orange
County in a long beach, whichis that the count but it is our
enahblehood. And you know four yearswe are with the server. I was
countributed the girls a couple of weeksago. Nine point four million meals so

(07:00):
far. That is just crazy. And the other thing that is so beautiful
about Katerina's Club is that all themoney that's donated, all of it goes
to feed the kids. It's notgoing there aren't administrative costs and all that.
It's right to the kids. Yeah, because we have other grant and
for administration costs like everybody else haveit. But gave our money go to

(07:21):
the kids direct for what we dofor the children of Ashcany Okay, and
when you how long ago did youstart this? A forty tea two thousand
and five, one kid, onepasta, one city, one location,
Okay, And you've told me thisstory before, but because it's pasta tom,
we have to we have to reiteratehow this got started with you feeding

(07:44):
someone and what inspired you to keepon going? Well, I went to
Boys Girls Club of Anaheim and thedirector Tom is the kid eating potato chips.
There would be is only dinner tonine because they live in a motear
room. I asked, what's themote room? So well, you have
a family live in a hotel innineteen fifty five when this they opened,

(08:05):
they were the tourist hotel. Nowas Forllow income citizens and also Dorug adding
dog Dialo and IVTLS residents of thosehotels and the kids feel as good mom,
mom can not be good because thekitchen in there. I trans it
to my mom, which was yourfor methadi Mama caterina as a detaillan mom?

(08:28):
What you said? We no whatdot you feed in Pascal? It
was the first kid, first location, first city, and you fed in
Pasta and then you did it againand did it again and did it again
and you started out small and nowyou're feeding thousands of children a week.
And what tell me how you feelabout the response that you get because so

(08:50):
many people come forward and donate. What does that mean to you? Well,
it's a respect to what I do. I mean, uh always says
a lot of good people out there. If you can't find one, b
one as what a mother is ateation, Oh yeah, as an open

(09:11):
us everywhere left and the right isbend us war kidding shoty sick or tired
to read of this. But whenpeople read, then some chef and a
white towels feeding children all over thecounty. I want to help. They
say, that is a huge respectto me, to my organization, to

(09:33):
the people walk with me. It'slike, I have a huge respect for
the people donated. Yesterday, somebodycame here, just give me five thousand
dolls. The other day, somebodycame one thousand dollars. Four days ago,
somebody came for dinner. Giving onehundred dollars doesn't matter much to give
me. It's just like your respectof what they do and you doned it.

(09:58):
I mean that makes me feel verygood. Yeah, well, you
make us all feel very good forwhat you're doing. And we're going to
be hearing so much more from Brunotoday and from all of the people who
make this happen, because it's truly, truly in just an on inspiring,
inspiring organization, and we're so thrilledto be part of it. And we
want to encourage everybody now to comedown and they can come by because we

(10:20):
haven't we haven't broadcasted live the wholeday since the pandemic. So this is
this is a time which we're allexcited. Lot of people love this yep,
and a lot of people's got tocome to see it as they go
back to the Lutz and very excited. This is a fun day to be
here, yep. So I'm hereright now, and then Handle's going to
be here, then Gary and Shannonand of course Johnny can Tim Conway Jr.

(10:45):
And we're going to wrap up theday because we're going right until ten
o'clock with later with Mo Kelly. So we invite you to come down donate.
If you can't come down and donate, there are other ways you can
donate. Yeah, you can goonline, which is Caterinasclub dot org.
If you can't remember called a restaurant, we will help you to find out.
If you put my name anywhere onthe Google you will see the website

(11:07):
somewhere that I mean. You candonate a different way. You can send
checks to the club if you don'thave the other top club sent to the
restaurant but make sure you put thechecks to Katerina's Club dot all to Katerina's
the password for every tier around here. Okay, and plus you can go
to Wendy's. All the Wendy's insouthern California are taking donations, as are
Smart and Finals in like three orfour states. So but we want you

(11:31):
to come here today. So comeby, stop by, make a donation,
say hi and thank you so much. Bruno, thank you Cha.
So many ways to help, andit all starts with you, ends with
twenty five thousand kids a week gettinga meal. It's Giving Tuesday. It's
the thirteenth annual KFI Pastathon happening rightnow. We are the Anaheim White House.

(11:52):
Would love for you to stop by, hang out for a while,
or just stop buy and drop offsome pasta. Either way it works for
us. Let's get back to someof the story coming out of the KFI
twenty four hour newsroom. A watermain break has caused a mud slide in
Hacienda Heights. This guy, wholives in the area says the slide isn't
really a surprise. We had waterleaks that started all over a week ago
that were recorded by several neighbors andthey said it was fine that they deal

(12:16):
with it, but we knew iteventually it was all going to wash down.
La Kenny Fire says the slide happenedlast night. Four homes have been
damaged, one has mud inside.Seven homes don't have water. A woman
who tried to fight off a pursesnatcher outside of Costco in Industry is in
critical condition. She was dragged bythe thieves car Sunday night for about half
the length of a football field asshe tried to hold onto her bag.

(12:39):
She hit her head when she felloff. The two robbers were in a
dark colored Infinity QX sixty. TheLa Kenny Sheriff's Cybercrimes Bureau says when it
comes to buying stuff online, beaware of some red flags. Sergeant Pete
Hisch says, be suspicious of unsolicitedemails and text messages. You get an
email from a company selling something, don't click on the link, don't click

(13:01):
on the document or anything like that. Those a lot of times are I
say more times than not. OnNefariahish says, never use a debit card
to purchase items online because if you'rehacked, you could lose all your cash
and getting it back might be nextto impossible. And if you'd like to
use apps to buy stuff, onlydownload retailers apps directly from the Apple Store
or Google Play. Steve Gregory kfI News. When we come back,

(13:26):
we're going to be talking giving thisGiving Tuesday and how to make sure your
money goes to the people who needit most with the host of How to
Money with Joel Larsgard. Want tosay thank you so much to the beautiful
Hilton Anaheim. They provided accommodations forthe KFI Pastathon Crewe. I was one
of them and had a really RESTfulnight's sleep. Hilton Anaheim located steps away

(13:48):
from the Anaheim Convention Center and theDisneyland Resort, making it the ideal destination
to explore the city of Anaheim andall it has to offer. Hilton Anaheim
hootel dot com thanks again, Hiltonhad a great night's stay there. A
seventy eight year old Israeli woman heldhostage by Hamas for more than fifty days,
says conditions got worse as time wenton. The hostages didn't have enough

(14:11):
food. She was kept in whatshe calls a suffocating room and slept on
plastic chairs with a sheet before shewas released. More hostages are expected to
be released today thanks to a twoday extension of the ceasefire agreed upon yesterday.
Rescue crews are on the verge ofrescuing the forty one construction workers who've
been trapped in a collapsed mountain tunnelfor the last two weeks. Officials in

(14:33):
India say rescuers have drilled their waythrough debris to reach them. California's Attorney
General Rob Monte is warning consumers aboutcharity scams this Giving Tuesday. He says
you should check the charity's registration status, be careful when making electronic donations,
watch out for deceptive tactics, protectyour identity, and only give to trusted
organizations like Katerina's Club. At sixoh five at Tandle on the news,

(14:58):
the US is producing more more crudeoil than ever, thirteen point two million
barrels a day. Right now, let's say good morning to the host of
How to Money on KFI, Joellars Guard. Joel, we want to
talk to you today about charities becausea lot of people are going to be
donating this holiday season, and specificallyon this Giving Tuesday. And we got
to be smart about it. Ohyeah, I mean there's so many made

(15:18):
up days in our calendar now,Amy, it feels like there's like National
IPA Day, which is actually whatI can get behind because I like a
good beer. Yeah, but GivingTuesday is one of my absolute favorites,
and it's really it's been around forlike ten years, but the fact that
it's become kind of a force forgood in this country is a wonderful thing.
There's things you just need to bebe careful of that you need to

(15:39):
pay attention to when you're donating yourmoney, and there's ways to kind of
stretch that dollar, make that givingdollar go even further. But this year,
this is one of my favorite daysof the year. Okay, So
tell us about some of the thingsthat we need to look out for,
because you know, you can makea donation to a charity and you have
this great feeling inside because you've donatedsome money, and then you find out

(16:02):
that the charity is either not spendingthe money for the people who are supposed
to be getting it, or it'sjust not a real charity at all.
Yeah. Yeah, that's one hundredpercent true. So there definitely anytime there's
money floating around, scammers get involvedand they want a piece of the pie.
And much to your chagrin, youmight have or you might be,
you know, bring donating to acharity that's not actually real. They often

(16:23):
do use like plays on words. For for instance, instead of the American
Cancer Society, is like the CancerSociety of America, and that one's actually
fraudulent. So you got to payattention. You got to you gotta like
look up the charity itself. Andthere's ways to do this. There are
I actually have a post on howto money dot Com on how to vet
a charity effectively, there's a bunchof steps you can go through just to
make sure, okay, this isactually a registered charity and wait a second,

(16:45):
they're actually having the impact that theysay. There's like, for instance,
when we're talking about Caterina's Club, you can look them up on Charity
Navigator and you can see, well, what is this, what is this
third party website who vets charities? What do they say about this nonprofit?
Turns out Katterina's Club passes with flyingwith Flying colors, and so of course
it does, I know. Soit's good to know a wait a second,

(17:07):
my money's actually going largely to supportthe mission that this nonprofit claims.
Because the truth is, and Ihate that this is true, there are
a lot of nonprofits where there's toomuch overhead. Even if it's not an
outright scam, there are charities wherea lot of money goes to fund people
at the top, and it's notFewer and fewer of those dollars are actually
going to have the impact on theground that you're hoping they would have.

(17:30):
That's not true fortunately with Katerina's Club. And so when you look at that
rating on charity Navigator, it's afour star rating, and you might say,
why not five star, Well, they're on a four star basis at
charity Navigator, so they're getting topratings and so it's definitely Yeah. But
if there's other places you're interested ingiving, look them up on a site
like charity Navigator. You can kindof see get a look a peek behind
the curtain to see how effective thischarity is in the mission that they purport

(17:53):
to be, you know, embarkingon okay and tell us too about tax
deductions because some charity donations are taxdeductible. Yes, that's true. So
and that is a part at leastpartly a reason that people give right is
to say, okay, cool, well maybe I can lure my tax bill.
At the same time, I willsay, far fewer people qualify for

(18:14):
a tax deduction for giving these daysbecause of the higher standard deduction. So
because of that higher standard deduction, which this year for single folks is thirteen
eight hundred and fifty dollars, formarried folks is twenty seven seven hundred dollars.
So if you're not itemizing deductions, and something like ninety percent of Americans
are not itemizing deductions, you willnot get a tax benefit for this charitable

(18:37):
contribution. It's important to mention, though, that there are ways to kind
of game that system. And it'scalled like batching or bunching. And so
let's saying you're saying, well, you know, I plan to donate roughly
like thirty thousand dollars over the nexttwo years. That'd be a lot of
money. You'd be very generous.Well, you could maybe say instead,
you know what, I'm going togive all of that money now, so

(18:57):
I can get a tax deduction forat least some of the money I'm giving.
Away, and then I'm going togive none next year. So that's
a way to kind of ensure thatyou get some of a tax deduction for
your donations by kind of clumping theminto a single tax year as opposed to
spreading them out equally over multiple years. Okay, and then let's move over

(19:18):
to one other thing that you mentionedto me that I think, Oh,
that's not something we hear every day, And that's good news from the irs.
That's true. Yeah, usually notthe payer of good news. Usually
it's a letter in your mailbox andyou're like, oh, gosh, I
don't want to open this, butno, this is good news. And
so basically, there was this rulethat was supposed to be implemented. It

(19:40):
was delayed last year, and itlooks like it's being delayed again this year.
And what it is is anybody whouses these payment apps like PayPal,
Venmo or cash App, which islike a massive percentage of Americans, they
were going to receive a ten ninetynine K for their activity on the app
if they exchanged, if they're morethan like six hundred bucks, essentially was

(20:00):
paid, and that could be justlike paying your friend to split the check
at dinner. Or something like that, which is what a lot of people
use these apps for, or buyingsomething on Facebook marketplace. So if you
had done just even a minimal amountof activity, you were supposed to be
getting one of these ten ninety ninek's, and then you'd have to fight
it out with the irs about whatyou were using that app for in order
to ensure you weren't paying taxes forthe money that went through those apps.

(20:21):
And so basically the threshold used tobe twenty thousand dollars in order to get
one of those. It was reducedto six hundred, which means almost everyone
would have been implemented implicated. Butthey are holding off on this. They
knew this was going to be anightmare for folks, and so they're not
actually going to follow through on thisrule yet. It sounds like next year
they're going to lower the threshold intoa medium sort of spot of five thousand

(20:45):
dollars in transactions are going to getyou a ten ninety nine K that you
have to then you have to paytaxes on money that goes through those accounts
unless you can prove essentially that theywere not purchases. But so this is
good news anybody using those apps shouldnot worry. They're not It's not going
to mess up your tax season.See I love good news and Joel Larsgard.

(21:07):
You can hear Joel and all hissmart money advice Sundays from noon to
two here on KFI. You canalso follow him on Instagram at how to
Money. Joel, thanks so muchfor talking to us this Giving Tuesday,
and thanks for reinforcing to us thatKaterina's Club is a great charity to give
to. Oh it's so great likelisteners should be confident that their dollar is

(21:29):
going to a great a great organizationand that their dollars are being used for
good. I love that. Thankyou so much, Joel. Thanks Amy.
Let's get back to some of thestories coming out of the KFI twenty
four hour news room. Police inBurbank are trying to find a homeless man
they say vandalized a synagogue and otherlocations with anti Semitic graffiti. The damage
was done Friday. Investigators say theman is known to be in Burbank,

(21:52):
Glendale, Pasadena, Temple City,El Segundo and LA. Ridership across LA's
metro system has grown by nearly twelvepercent. In October compared to the same
month last year. Official say itmarks the eleventh straight month of year over
year growth. They say ridership isnow seventy nine percent of its pre pandemic
level. Metro recently increased its focuson safety and navigation help for passengers.

(22:14):
A food pantry for dogs is nowavailable on skid Row. The pantry has
given out twenty eight bags of dogfood in its first week. It was
started by doctor Kwan Stewart, aveterinarian who treats dogs on skid Row.
Doctor Stewart says, despite being shorton resources, homeless people tend to do
a great job caring for their pets, nearing probably eighteen hundred nineteen hundred dogs.

(22:37):
In my time twelve years doing this, I've had to remove one dog
from one owner. Stuart says ifthe pantry on skid Row is successful,
he hopes to expand the concept intoSan Diego and other areas on skid Row.
Bake Trolley kf I News. Whenwe come back, we're going to
be heading into the kitchen so youcan see what's cooking every single day at

(22:57):
the Anaheim White House and how itbenefits the kids from Canna Reita's Club on
this Pastathon twenty twenty three, Israeland Hamas have agreed to a two day
extension to the ceasefire, which shouldmean twenty more hostages are being released as
part of a fourth swap under theoriginal deal. Hamas released eleven Israelis last

(23:18):
night, and Israel released thirty threePalestinians. A water main break has caused
a mud slide in Hassi Into Heights, LA County. Fire says four homes
have been damaged. The slide happenedlast night. Mud got into one of
the homes. Google says it's goingto start purging inactive Google accounts. Company
says it will delete the account startingin December for security reasons. You can
keep your account active by logging inat least once every two years. At

(23:42):
six oh five, it's handle onthe news. President Biden is skipping the
UN Climate Summit. Bill's going totell you why. At five point fifty,
we're going to be checking in withour very own Chris Adler. She's
going to show us what else Brunodoes. Aside from feeding those twenty five
thousand kids a week, there's alot more, and your donation helps make
it happen. Right now, it'stime for us to head to the kitchen

(24:03):
to see how Katerina's Club feeds thosekids every week with your generous donations.
So let's find out what's cooking withChris Lewis. Thanks for joining us this
morning, Chris, thank you sopleasure. So Chris, tell us when
you guys are cooking up this pastafor all these kids. You do it
every day? Yeah, every day, Monday or Friday. And when do
you start in the morning. Wehave people that start up four thirty in

(24:26):
the morning, a couple more likecoming at five thirty, and the pasta
folks come in at e okay. And then you're cooking until about when each
day one thirty two o'clock okay. And then after you've made all this pasta,
and you make mountains of pasta everyday, you're like a guestimate of
how much you make every day ona normal day, it's like five hundred

(24:47):
and twenty pounds of pasta put ona busy day to be warm, okay,
and you're feeding twenty five thousand kidsa week. And what kind of
like we're looking at pasta here, and that's like a mix of pastas you
do you do one kind of pasta? Do you do all kinds of pasta?
All kinds of pastas? What's donated? Sometimes they get it, have
to buy it. We try touse all the donated pasta. Okay,

(25:11):
you've got storage storages nearby that havebetter, like bold storages or dry storages
that have just palettes and palets ofpasta, because there's no way you could
store here at the restaurant. Correct. Yeah, so you have guys that
have red yeah okay. And thenyou also, along with over five hundred
pounds of pasta, there's a bunchof sauce. Yeah, lots of mare
and rara like, so do youknow how much sauce do you go through

(25:33):
it? This would be considered asmall pot, and it's ten gallons.
We have pots that are fifty andseventy gallons that we use, and we
have this whole entire stowfield though,so it's like six or seven of them.
Wow, okay. And then whenyou guys are done cooking at all,
then it's got to get to whereit's going. So how does it
get packaged? Done? Sometimes weput it in hotel pens. They're just

(25:55):
different sizes, two hundreds, fourhundreds, six hundreds, and we'll wrap
from sometimes in that, we'll putthem in hot boxes and then our drivers
will drive them there and then they'llserve there. But then we also have
we do to go containers. Okay, so they let us know how many
to go containers they want. Wewill put them on to go containers,
stack them up in a nice bagor warmer bag, and then our drivers

(26:17):
with them drive. That's cool.So now how long how long did you
cook for Katerina's club? I cookedfrom twenty seventeen to twenty nineteen. And
now you've been promoted. Oh yes, and what do you do now?
I'm the sousshot at the household? So next time I come to visit the
ANAHEIMRK. White House, You're goingto be helping prepare my meal. I'm
here almost every day. Well, congratulations on your promotion. Thanks so much

(26:41):
for the information. Chris, appreciateit. Thank you. I'm you know,
people like Chris are helping to changelives every day, and you can
too with your donation. Go topastathon dot com. Shop at any Smart
and Final and you can donate atthe checkout. You can also make a
donation at any Wendy's in southern California, just five bucks to the KFI Pastathon.

Handle on the news this morning. It's official more people flew on Sunday than
any other holiday ever. The nonprofitorganization Katerina's Club is hoping to raise more
money this Giving Tuesday to find homesfor families in Orange County living out of

(31:15):
motels. Two hundred and sixty seventhat's the number of families Katerinas Club has
helped house in the last twelve yearsthrough the organization's Welcome Home program. The
program is part of the organization's threepronged approach to feeding, housing and offering
job training to low income families.Owner of the Anaheim White House restaurant,
Chef Bruno Serrato, initially started themission with his mother Katerina, with a

(31:38):
goal of feeding hungry children, butChef Bruno quickly learned that an empty stomach
was only part of the battle. He realized that the kids couldn't thrive if
they were living out of motels. The reason is because they can out the
fall the firlth and last month depositin a final and almost one percent of
the family. Biggest problem is thatChef Bruno started offering a way for families

(32:01):
to get out of the motels andthat includes covering their first and last month's
rent and a security deposit if necessary. Families are put through a screening process,
including drug testing and proof of employment. A change of the life not
only to the kids, but alsogive a diny tea back to the parents.
I got to join Chef Bruno athis restaurant for a Thanksgiving feast where

(32:22):
he hosted his annual snow Day,bringing in hundreds of underprivileged kids and treating
them to a full Turkey dinner, sledding, and a visit from Santa Holy.
That's what I've been doing. Sodo you have a favorite cookie?
What's your favorite cookie? Chocolate chip? Mind too. One of the people

(32:44):
visiting the snow Day was Jose,a working father who was living out of
a motel with his baby girl becausehe can't afford to get into an apartment
of his own. You know what, it's been extremely hard, not just
for myself, but more for mydaughter because it's kind of like, as
a parent, it's my job,my duty to make sure she's fine,
you know, stable, having aplace to stay. Jose's parents live in

(33:04):
Mexico, and he was living withhis sister before she asked him to leave
and he says, every day hasbeen a struggle. My credit isn't so
good, you know, so it'sbeen pretty hard. People don't even want
to like take a look at myapplication because there's people online before me.
She just have bad credit, youknow. It's just nobody ever taught me
that, you know, like myparents, they don't even know anything about
credit or anything like that. WhatJose doesn't know is that Chef Bruno has

(33:28):
approved him for an apartment and willbe helping him move out of the motel.
I mean, what happened if wepaid fills the last month to help
you out to move out, wouldaccepted you? You got to ask her?
Would you accept him on me?Yeah? Oh moments all for real.

(33:51):
Appreciate you very good, but youand that's why you haven't here for
it helping people like you, theyneed the little help to move forward in
their own life. Program director forKaterina's Club, Jennifer Oregon has worked closely
with Jose and his family, andshe says there have been times where he's

(34:12):
had to sleep in the car withhis one year old daughter. They had
no choice but to stay in theirvehicle. They sat to shelters. They're
on waiting lists, whether there's youknow, no room, no no housing
bouchers, no motel vouchers, soit's very difficult for them to get any
further assistance. She says, knowingthat Jose will have a warm bed for
his daughter on Christmas is the bestoutcomes she could have hoped for. Seeing

(34:37):
people, good people that due tounfortunate circumstances, have been put in this
position where their families are forced toyou know, live on the streets or
in motels, you know, smallchildren. It's it's very heartbreaking and this

(35:01):
is just one of the families.Chef Bruno has been able to help with
generous donations from the public, andhe says this Giving Tuesday he hopes to
bring in more money to be ableto keep supporting families. Wado one of
the member the most is when themom takes me back, you say,
Chevlon, I never take for grantedwhat you did for us. M Kiss

(35:21):
was the wolfs in the class. He came home today with the Student of
the month. Katerina's club has servedover nine million meals to date and feeds
more than five thousand children each day. Over eight hundred and forty students have
participated in Chef Bruno's Hospitality Academy, and more than forty two thousand hospitality scholarship
donations have been awarded for Wake UpCall. I'm Chris Adler. Thank you

(35:45):
Chris. You know it was sucha special moment to see Jose find out
that he's going to be able toget into a home with a hand up
from Chef Bruno's program. And youcan help more people, you know,
maybe get out of the break thatcycle, get a good meal, get
a new home, get jobs.Bruno helps you do all of those things.
