I thought I would drop a testimonial of one of my clients, who has been with me for about a year at the time of this podcast recording.  This doctor struggled immensely in an associate position for two years before deciding to start his practice in an entirely different state.  Here is part of this journey.

As I travel all over the United States and train doctors and staffs.  One of the things I ask them to do is show me your daily schedule for the office.  When I look at their schedule, 9/10 is a mess, and it's no wonder their staff takes way too long to book a new patient consult or report.  Doctors have to do a better job with this; they are losing money, as well as opportunities to help more people.

There are many ups and downs in practice.  There are seasons of growth and very challenging seasons.  I remember weeks when I would be walking the range rover lot for another new ride and the following month eating tuna fish and rice.  I had money saved, but there can be these ebbs and flows we all have to be prepared for.  Take a listen.  Good for upcoming new doctors as well.

Listen to today's podcast to learn the key to more referrals in your business.  You can use all types of gimmicks and pester your patients all the time for referrals or do educational talks, or what have you?  But the key to more referrals and increasing a patient's lifetime value is simpler than you might think.  It does require you to produce the goods, though.

With marketing, especially paid ppc advertising, you must have a particular perspective.  You don't get something for nothing.  I tell doctors new to marketing to consistently build their skills the first 6-12 months on the phone and with patients, then expect the return to be much higher.  So this podcast will give a doctor that is new to marketing, and even a more seasoned doctor, a better perspective on paid advertising.

Sometimes it's good to take a step back and refocus our concentration on the simplicity of our business.  We sometimes get ahead of ourselves in our companies and later end up with regret, burnout, and frustration.  You have to show success first with your core business, before adding additional revenue streams.  The entire operation will be stronger by first meeting this objective.

What is your unique position in the marketplace as a doctor?  Why would someone invest their hard-earned money in your practice vs. someone else's?  When I visit doctors' practices, this is one of the first things I ask them?  It's always interesting to hear their responses.

A doctor must communicate "PROBLEM & SOLUTION" on visits 1 and 2 in practice with a new patient.  Be prepared for this, don't wing it.  Don't go into these opportunities without studying the case, and developing a treatment protocol so you can deliver to the patient without confusion.  If you don't prepare and roll visit 1 and 2 into one visit you will NOT make the impact you want with the patient and they will be confused, and bas...
