Episode 66: Leave It and Not Yet - What's the Difference? ** Big, big, huge difference in my opinion and in my training. Leave it = Forever Not yet = 30, 40, 50 seconds or less Leave it = Poisonous, dangerous, disgusting Not yet = Reward food or toy
Episode 65: Organizations - What's the Difference? There are lots of agility organizations to trial in, here are a just a few of the differences between them.
Episode 64: Playing It Safe ** Playing it safe versus always trying for correct may leave you never knowing how much your dog actually knows. Take a chance and go for more distance, more distraction, more duration...you never know, your dog just may be able to handle it and offer you a new level of training. But you'll never know if you don't try. Give it a try, even at the risk of your dog being incorrect. P.S. Pay for effort.
Episode 63: Agility and Jumping - What's the Difference? ** Starting a mini series called What's the Difference where I talk about the difference between random agility topics that jump into my head or students have asked me.
Episode 62: What Top Handlers Cultivate ** Top Handlers don't have a secret that makes them great, they have a relationship with their dog, a working understanding of trust and safety. And so can you!
In light of the great write up by Iwona Golab, I am republishing Episode 8 on relationship building. There is more and maybe I'll put another podcast together, but I think this is a good episode to revisit.
Episode 61: End Routines ** Dogs thrive on routines and making an end routine noteworthy will help strengthen your dog's feelings toward the hard work and the reward they need and want for their hard work. Want more, reward more, strategically with connection and duration.
