The Mississippi River at Guttenberg is great for mid April with water in the mid 50 degree range.  Fishing may take some work but we've got the information on what is biting and what may come as we get warmer spring weather.

Other than that warning, ice fishing is active on smaller lakes and ponds across Iowa.

The bite is lite and you may need to change to smaller jigs and plastics.

We survived Christmas.  The ice fishing is a bit unsettled but strong ice in Guttenberg Area.  Small fish are hugging the bottom while predator bass and Northern Pike cruise looking for a meal.
