Speaker 2 (00:25):
Kings of New York after the Clippers win one's twenty
six to one thirteen at Madison Square Garden over the
New York Knicks. Welcome into your postgame show. This is
Clippers Talk. I'm out of Maslin coming up. We'll get
your phone calls. Eight sixty six ninety seven two five seventy.
Eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy is

(00:45):
the phone number. Just a spectacular turnaround from this Clippers team.
You go from being down by as many as fourteen
early to up by as many as nineteen. That is
a thirty three point turn around. Boy, what a difference
hot shooting makes for so many people coming at coach

(01:07):
lou because his first game back, they lost by two
points to the best team in the league in Oklahoma City. Thunder. Say, well,
this time the Clippers U didn't shoot twenty percent from
the outside. They were sixteen of thirty. They went eight
of eleven from three in the third quarter when James
Harden went off and at one point hit three straight threes.
Then but Tom hit a three. Harden had sixteen points,

(01:29):
sixteen of his team leading twenty nine in the third.
We didn't even know if he would play. How can
you question coach lou letting him continue to play last
time out when he look this good the very next game.
Apparently he felt good enough to play. James Harden, he

(01:51):
looked amazing out there. They don't win the game without him.
But the Clippers did start off slow. Felt like in
that first quarter they couldn't get the car out of
the driveway. They just kept stalling. They started down eleven
to two. The Knicks started off shooting eight of nine

(02:12):
from the field. You had some bad turnovers by the Clippers,
three in the first quarter leading to eight points. Guess
what the rest of the game. They had just two
turnovers the final three quarters. That's incredible. James Harden had two,

(02:34):
he had six assists, Zubats had two. Norm Pal had won.
That's it. Those three players accounted for five total turnovers.
The Clippers had thirteen offensive rebounds, leading to nineteen points.
You take care of the basketball like that. And it

(02:54):
started in the second quarter. After the Clippers trailed many
as fourteen. It was thirty three to twenty twelve minutes in.
Zubots started the second quarter. I asked law Murray this pregame,
do you think coach lou will start him in the
second quarter. He wasn't so sure about that. He did Zubots, Kawhi, Simmons,

(03:17):
Bogie and DJ to start the second Heart picked up
his third foul early. Bogie found Zue early for a
nice floater off a beautiful feed. Nick still were hanging around.
They led forty to twenty six early in the second quarter.

(03:42):
I should say the Clippers were hanging around because they
were the team down fourteen. Zuo hits a floater, the
Clippers guys to within ten. Nicks get up by twelve
after a Bridge's lay up on Kawai, where it looked
like Kawai was playing at half speed at that time. Oh,
he got in a six gear eventually, no doubt about that.

(04:06):
The game really turned as Kawhi hit a jumper off
a Zoo pass to him on the right elbow to
make it forty four to thirty four, and then Norm
started to get it going a little bit. Norm goes
left for a bucket. It's an eight point game. Nick's turnover,
Norman pawal again, floater, six point game, cat over, Zoo

(04:31):
back to an eight point game, Norm three, five point game.
Then Michale Bridges misses and Kawhi finds Chris Dunn for
a streaking layup going past Landry Sham and I think
they thought there was a travel there, and the Clippers
had it to within three. In the span of two

(04:54):
minutes and fifty six seconds. They got it down to three.
By the end of the first half, they would be
trailing by just one at fifty five to fifty four.
Now in the third quarter, it was back and forth.

(05:16):
At first, Kawhi tied it at fifty seven with a
fade on a double team with Karl Anthony Towns and
Josh Hart near the right block, right baseline fall away,
Kawhi starting to feel it. Michale Bridge's answers with the layup,
Nicks up by two, fifty nine to fifty seven. Towns
three Clippers are down by five. Harden three two point

(05:38):
game sign of things to come, Towns and one on
Zoo spinning on him. Zoo look lost. That hasn't happened
very often this season, but Zoo came right back with
a floater. I'd love seeing that Og would hit a three.
But this is the turning point. With the Clippers down
six at sixty eight to sixty two, Norm hits a

(05:59):
three pointer of a great feed from Chris Dunn. Og
misses a three, Zoo put back one point game off
of his own miss. Done hits a three, and the
Clippers take their first lead of the ball game at
seventy to sixty eight as Done was left open on
a near side corner three that would complete an eight

(06:21):
zero run. Eventually, they would take it to ten as
James Harden got fouled going left hit both free throws.
Clippers up seventy two to sixty eight, and then the
end of the third quarter happened. Kawhi comes off the
floor after hitting a big three to make it seventy six.

(06:43):
All we had a plethora of ties in this ballgame.
It's eighty one point eighty knicks. Harden plays great defense
and has a block and the Knicks miss a three
pointer after that, and then he hits a three on
Landrew Shammitt. Clippers go from down one to up two

(07:05):
with eighty three to eighty one. Harden another three, eighty
six eighty one, Shamit hits a three. Harden another three
hook for Josh Hart, this time three straight threes from James.
Harden hits eighty nine to eighty four. Knicks miss free throws,
but Toom hits a three. It's ninety two to eighty

(07:26):
four off a hardened pass brought in the defense attack
the paint kicked it back out to Nico Saint Nick,
always good against the Knicks. Simmons then has a putback
off of James Miss and it's a ten point lead.
They go eight of eleven from three in the third quarter.

(07:47):
James Harden has sixteen in the third. The Clippers are
up ten heading into the fourth. After a sixteen to
six run to end the third period, it's ninety four
to eighty four. The Knicks, though, get an a one
from Towns to start the fourth. At this point the
lineup is Batoom, Kawhi, Simmons, Bogie and DJ Towns, though

(08:10):
would miss the free throw. Nicks were missing some free
throws all of a sudden. Now Kawhi hits a three
pointer in og Ananobi's face. He might have been fouled,
didn't get the call, doesn't matter. Shammitt misses a three,
they call a flopping foul on right and Kawhi hits
the technical. That's a big deal sometimes just getting to

(08:31):
the free throw line and knocking one down and Kawhi
kind of faded away on the technical free throw. A
little bit can let you catch your rhythm. Towns would
make it a ten point game. Kawhi mid range on
og It's one hundred and eighty eight. Clippers. Kawhi fouled
by Shammitt, goes to the line, puts them up one
o two to eighty eight. Now the Clippers are up

(08:52):
fourteen after trailing by as many as fourteen back in
the second quarter. Early fourth, they're up fourteen at one
oh two to eight twenty eight point turnaround. Kawhi has
scored eight straight points for them. Sham at three, Kawhi
middy and get the gets the fallaway over bridges like

(09:15):
just an insane shot. He has scored ten straight for
the Clippers. They lead one oh four to ninety one,
and this thing's starting to get out of hand. DJ
hits a three towns turnover. DJ gets fouled, thought he
was hurt for a second, got up, and the Clippers
got up by nineteen. All they needed was a big

(09:41):
Zoo throwdown late to put him up one fourteen to
ninety seven. Just a little bit of breathing room, but
Og hit a three Kawhi had a big throw down
the other way. Clippers are up one sixteen to one hundred.
I thought it was over, but with about a minute
and a half left, the nick did get it to
within eight. Clippers responded immediately. Norman Palell three dagger and

(10:07):
then Zoo dunked on Og bodied him. Game over. Clippers
win one twenty six to one thirteen, from down fourteen
to winning by thirteen. Norman Powell this was his best
game since returning from the hamstring injury and really returning
from the knee injury as well. Seven of twelve a

(10:28):
key eight points in the second quarter, finished with nineteen
but four or five from three. He hadn't hit two
threes in a game since he came back. This was
game four for him. He hit four in this one
and that big three, the silencer to put the game
away when it was eight point lead within a minute

(10:49):
and a half. It's a little bit dicey boom. Madison
Square Garden clears out, Clippers leave with the victory. We'll
come back. We'll get to your phone calls. Age sixty
six nine eighty seven two five seventy eight six six
nine eighty seven two five seventy. Clippers win one twenty
six to one thirteen at MSG over the Knicks. They're

(11:10):
heading to Brooklyn next on Friday. I'm out of Mousland
and this is Clippers sock here on AM five to
seven LA Sports.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I love this team. I never miss a game.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
You're listening to LA Clippers basketball free ball, Yes, sir,
right here on the LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Clippers win one twenty six to one thirteen over the
Knicks at Madison Square Garden to start off this four
game roadie with a dub. There are ten games left
in the regular season for your LA Clippers. They're currently
in the sixth spot in the Western Conference. We'll update
you on the standings, but I don't want to get
to some phone calls here eight six six nine eighty

(11:49):
seven two five seventy programming reminder moving forward, when the
Dodgers are on AM five to seventy, we'll be on
the Patriot AM eleven fifty. But of course you can
join us here at Clippers off on the YouTube side,
Chris and La. What's up here on Clipper stop with Auta.
Ma's on?

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Hi, Chris, Hey, Hey Adam, Massive win, brother, massive win.
As always, you know, Tylu really needs to get more
credit than what he does. If anyone in the Clipper
world thought we'd have forty one wins before March was up,
I don't think so. And we're at forty one wins.

(12:25):
We go six and four, seven and three get you
to forty seven forty eight wins. For sure will be
in the five or six hole. But I want to
say this three massive stats in this game. Twenty five
assists five turnovers, as you pointed out, only two in
the from the second from the first quarter on. But
guess what Kawhi Leonard forty one minutes and if you

(12:47):
haven't seen him start to turn it up, you better
start watching. Look at what he did against Cleveland cooked,
Look what he did against OKC cooked. Look what he
did tonight looked we're starting to seek wide Leonard groove
right into playoff. Kawhi, He's now played twenty eight, twenty
nine games. Remember, no offseason for him. He had knee surgery,

(13:09):
so he's starting to feel his oats. Three straight double
doubles we go. Unfortunately, I disagree with quote Carlo and
excuse me, Harden and Kawhi are the stars. Stars show up,
the others win championships. Zubac, Ben Simmons, those guys, Chris
Dunn's defense, Derek Jones junior event. We are right fricking there, man,

(13:34):
And I don't mean to use bad any sort of
bad language at him. This is as fired up as
I've been about a Clippers team been about four or
five years. You go backwards. We haven't had a squad
disconnected at this late in the season in quite some time.
The sky's the limit. And oh, by the way, hats
off to the front office for making that move to

(13:57):
go and say, hey, we're gonna put a bunch of gritty,
tough guys to together. Compliment them with James, compliment them
with Kawhi, and say, hey, Zubach, hey, Palell, increase your
stats from last year. And that'll fulfill what we got
from Paul George. And that's what's happened. Pal's up ten
points a game, Zubo's up five points a game. There's

(14:17):
fifteen George average twenty two. If you want to add
in some of the other guys. Harden's points are up
four points between the three of them. They've made up
for George. And I'm going to tell you right now,
nobody wants to play us in the first round of
the playoffs, now that we're in the sixth hole, and
I firmly believe seven and three, six and four is
very attainable. For these last ten games, forty seven to

(14:40):
forty eight wins get you into the top six, and
I'm telling you nobody wants to play us at all. Adam,
I've got to tell you, the ball movement has been unbelievable.
Norman being out at first really hurt us, but if
you look at it, it gave Bogie an opportunity to
get comfortable. Although he didn't play a lot tonight, but

(15:01):
it wasn't his turn tonight. Each night there's another that
stand steps up each night. The other of these nine
out of the last eleven games have been phenomenal. Let's
not forget Cleveland and Okay, so you have the two
best teams in the league and the next with than
the third hole in the East. Ye, so we are
right there. I'm eager to see how we play against Brooklyn,

(15:23):
that back to back against Cleveland. Then we're back home
next Wednesday with New Orleans and then back to back
with Dallas. And those are winnable games. All of them
are winnable games in my opinion. And I got to
tell you, Adam, and I'm sorry to dominate the whole conversation,
but you know I always get fired up when I'm
on the phone. Here Zubach fifty double doubles, fifty forty nine,

(15:45):
He's gonna get fifty and more. The guy really should
be most improved player. I know everybody wants to give
a fifty double doubles for Zubac.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Fifty it's insane.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Go through all the centers in the league.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
He yesterday, he's at worst, the fifth best center of
the league. He's at worse the fifth best worst. This season.
This season when you account for availability, Zoo has been
had a top five season for a center.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
He plays every game. The guy plays every game. Barely
misses a game. And you know what, I was the
first one skeptical when we flipped all those guys last
year to get James Harden. Boy, am I eating crow
And I'm smiling every bite I have of it because
James Harden has not only been the back, James Harden
has been selfless and James Harden has been a leader.

(16:36):
And everything that the pun did say I put away
because every game I watch him play, he does something
that is amazing. And what it is is he's thirty
five years old and plays every game and plays thirty
five plus minutes a game. Yep, thirty five plus minutes
a game. It's unbelievable at him. I hope I'm not
as I'm not too bullish on this. But we're an
analytics team. We're an analytics organization. And when you look

(16:58):
at the analytics, boy oh boy, they scream off the
page that we are right there. We have an identity
where a defensive minded team that now all of a sudden, oh,
the offense is starting to click.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Hey, hey, Chris, who told you that would happen? Back
in November? O I said was if this is their
level of defense, you get KAUI back, there'll be a
top ten offense. You pair it with this defense. Now
you're talking about a dangerous team. And that's what we're seeing.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Now, very dangerous team. You think about the other night,
and I don't mean to go away from the next team.
This is a very good next team, very good next team.
Tom Thibodeau. Teams don't give up one hundred and twenty
six points, let alone one hundred and fifteen.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
Or whatever it is.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
But you go back the other night, the combination of
Chris Dunn and Derek Jones junior on Shay Gildris Alexander,
the MVP of the league. He looked a shell of himself.
And that's what we're gonna see. That's why teams, when
you get into the playoffs and you know this is
better than I do, it becomes a half court, grindin
out type of game. That's what we played the best.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
I agree with.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Turnovers tonight five turnovers two and the two turnovers and
what was it thirty six minutes two? Come on, Adam,
we're I'm telling you we're right there. Clipper Nation. Adam's
been saying it since November. I've been saying it too.
We are legitimate and don't come and try to play.

(18:26):
This is not the Clippers of the last four years.
This is a team that shares the sugar, and when
we take care of the basketball, we can beat anybody.
Four out of seven, I'm not I'm convinced of that
four out of seven. This team's going to make a
run in the playoffs, Adam. Nobody wants to playoffs, and
there's nobody better in the playoffs x's and o's in

(18:48):
the NBA than Tyron Lou How many times has Tyrone
new team's come back down three to one? I think
he did it against the Warriors with Cleveland, He did
it with the Clippers, did it with the Clippers twice
against Das in Utah, right or maybe not Utah, but
did with.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
That one they were down oh two, yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Guess two to Utah, excuse me, but still in both
three one, three one to Dallas. It was two o
two to Utah and basically we ended the Utah Jazz.
They broke that team up after that. I'm putting the
coach down of the Mitchell Ruga everybody else. So again,
super fired up when we were down eighteen to five
to start the game today, I said, Okay, let's see

(19:27):
what we're made of. And you know what, we're made
stronger than any team we've had in the last five years.
Do you agree with that statement, Adam?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
I do, and I agree with your phone call. Overall,
they're made of sterner stuff. That's what this Clippers team is.
I appreciate you, Chris, but I do have some other
calls to get to. You're dominating your roller there. Let's
go to And I must say this for those hating
on the decision of letting Norman Powell play heavier minutes

(19:57):
in the fourth quarter where it didn't look like he
had it going last time out against Okay see and
he missed that three pointer on Sunday that he had
a good look at. For those hating on coach Lou
for that, if you don't do stuff like that, well,
I don't know if you get the game you got
today from Norm Powell. He showed the belief in him
sticking with his guy. It paid off today. Best Norm

(20:20):
Powell's looks since he returned bargov from Maryland. What's that bargov?

Speaker 6 (20:27):
My guy, Adam good bro.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
The governor is in the house, must be a big
victory off.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
You are you already know you already know East Coast games,
so I'm I'm able to call in, you know, still up,
So hey, man, what a win? You know you start
off slow, terrible start. He keeps the composure, stays in
the game, you know, norm bounce back, game, balanced effort.
Uh And then yeah, James Harden explosion and a third

(20:55):
I like that lineup, man, that bench lineup. I think
it was Bogey been but toom dij and Derek Jones
and then and Harden went went Ham and then Kawhi
came in with that same lineup and exploded in the fourth.
Just the impressive win, man. I love the composure they kept.
And yeah, how about Kawhi, Dude, here.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
I'll tell you. I'll tell you about Kawhi. Here's his
last six games, because I think the real turning point
from him defensively where he started to look like two
way Kawhi again, happened in Atlanta. If you go off
his last six games, he's averaging twenty six points. Let's
see the game against Atlanta, He's eleven of twenty one
from the field. Next game, he's nine of sixteen against Charlotte.

(21:41):
Against Cleveland his best game of the season. Has thirty
three on just nineteen shots against Memphis, has twenty three
points on just twelve shots, has twenty five on his
twenty shots, ten of twenty two or four from the
outside against Okac against some great defense, and then tonight
has twenty seven on eighteen field goal at Stamps with
a couple of three point owners, ten boards, seven assists.
He's had double doubles last three games. I think it's

(22:04):
really the last six games from Kawhi that I've seen
a different version of him. And by different, I mean
he looks just like last year's version of Kawhi. And
that's all I needed to see.

Speaker 6 (22:15):
Dude, the way he was moving. Second quarter, he flew
in for a lefty layup where you know, he landed
on the ground, flew in. Second half, Dude, he's all
over the place. He attempted a what was that a
reverse dunk baseline up, yes, open under dunk. I mean, dude,
that was literally like, yo, is this twenty seventeen again?
The way this man's flying. I mean, obviously you know

(22:36):
he's not that quite athletic, but it was just it
was incredible.

Speaker 7 (22:40):
Man.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
Shout out to ty Lu, a lot of different diversity,
different lineups. He can go to, you know, with the
tomb DJJ and shout out to Ben Ben Simmons man.
I mean his offense. You know, you can't really count
him to make that short bunny. It's like a prayer
every time, every time it goes up.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
If you look at the plus minus. While the backups
didn't have huge scoring nights, Dereck Jones Junior did have
twelve and he was a plus twenty four, Ben Simmons
a plus nineteen, Bogie a plus fourteen, Nico a plus eighteen.
Their backups were on the floor when the Clippers were
pulling away one hundred percent.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
You don't what I like about Ben Simmons. He's smart
on defense and he has high IQ on defense. And dude,
even though he doesn't have the same you know, athleticism,
he can't get up like he used to it. He
moves up laterally very well. He's strong, he keeps guys
in front, he can body you up. I mean he's
a good blue collar player, honestly, and yeah, dude, shout out,

(23:38):
shout out the team. Total holistic victory.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
I'm with you. Good to hear from your barg off, Uh, bargov.
The governor calling in. Maybe we'll do it again on
Friday as they stay on this East coast swing. Uh,
we'll take a quick time out. We'll come back. More
of your phone calls eight six six nine eighty seven
two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two
five seventy. Clippers were down fourteen. They win by thirteen

(24:02):
at Madison Square Garden over the Knicks. They get fourteen
to the fourth quarter from Kawhi Leonards sixteen to the
third from James Harden. Norman Palell has his best game
since he returned, with an efficient nineteen points on twelve shots,
four or five from the outside. Clippers win one twenty
six to one thirteen. More Clippers stock coming up next

(24:23):
here on M five seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
I love this team. I never miss a game.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
You're listening to LA Clippers Basketball free ball, Yes, sir,
right here on the LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Clippers win one twenty six to one thirteen over the
Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Rough start, magnificent finish by
the Clippers pulling away, getting up as many as nineteen
taking down the Knicks. I'm out a Moslin. This is

(24:56):
Clippers Sock here on M five seventy LA Sports. Before
we hear for James Harden post game. Whoorhe a Ventura,
You're on Cooper Stop with Adamson. What's up for.

Speaker 8 (25:06):
Hi?

Speaker 7 (25:06):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (25:07):
Well, thank you for taking my call. I uh, I'm
a big fan and uh I heard all you were
saying earlier. You know, the main thing, the main topic
is you know who's going to step that up, especially
on the finals if you get there, hopefully and definitely Kawhi.
Now I also think James Harden is going to be

(25:30):
the one. I think that he can step that up.
To be honest with you, that's the main key, you know,
if you want to win the championship, like for example,
at the the Rockets when James Harden was with Chris Paul.
You know, Chris Paul step it up, but he got
injured and you know they were right there against the Warriors.

(25:51):
And then also what else you know, and Toronto with
Kawhi Kawhi Leonard, you know he's pep it up. Who
will step it up? Yeah, I'll come step it up.
You know, Marco Saul step it up. And you know
there's a lot of people so you know, so far,
I think James Harden, you know, and Kawhi and hopefully

(26:12):
someone else like Bogie. You know, we're right there.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
I'm with you, Orge, You got a lot of different
guys stepping up for this team. They're talented, but it
starts with the big four. When I see Kahib twenty seven,
James Harden have an efficient twenty nine, and then Norman
Poud getting into a rhythm too, and it beats Zubos
being featured and getting up fifteen shots. That's all I need.
The big four has to lead them, everybody else feeling

(26:38):
around them, and you're gonna be just fine, right Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:44):
I mean, but yeah, to be honest with you, you
know who's going to step it up, and I think,
you know, uh, hopefully Subach, you know, and hopefully James Harden.
But that's the main key.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
All right, speaking of taking my call, appreciate it.

Speaker 8 (26:58):
Orge.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
We got James Harden post game after we didn't know
if he'd play today. He was questionable yesterday. He's available.
He starts, He leads them with twenty nine points on
eight of sixteen, shooting six of nine from three. Sixteen
of his twenty nine points coming in that third quarter,
and here he was postgame on fan Duel TV with

(27:20):
Christina Pink And.

Speaker 9 (27:20):
It was a slow start for you guys, but you
battled back and showed the resilience of this group. What
did you like about how you finished?

Speaker 8 (27:28):
That's why it's a four quarter game. You know, as
much as we wanted to be perfect every single possession
of every single quarter, you know it's not gonna be
like that. So we started off slow for whatever reason,
and we found ways to just inched back into defensively
and offensively got going.

Speaker 9 (27:41):
Coming into this one, James, we talked about how much
you love playing in this environment at Madison Square Garden
twenty nine points, six assists. Why does this place bring
out the best in you?

Speaker 8 (27:50):
Some of the best fans in the world. You know
Sports Sports city for sure. You know I played here
for a year in the city, So it's just the
energy to vibe in here, and you want to come,
you want to play your best, and you want to
obviously will come away with the win. So for us,
it was it was all about that, and we did that.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
James.

Speaker 9 (28:05):
You came into this one battling some footsore neess the
last couple of days. Why was it so important for
you to be out here?

Speaker 8 (28:11):
Uh? Because we find for our lives right now, you know,
so you know, whatever text to win the game. And
you know, I mean obviously if I was very, very
very hurt and that I wouldn't be playing. But you know,
some different tests and you know I'll figure it out.
So come in with the wain when we got ten
games left and every game is.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Important for us. James Harden post game with Christina pink there,
I wondered yesterday I texted this to Chuck Mockler. What
if James plays against the Knicks and then rest against Brooklyn.
You can't look past Brooklyn. You have to win that game.
They are in the capture of the Flag sweepstakes, though

(28:49):
they're not exactly trying to win. It's the less competitive
team of the two games in New York. Could we
see that? We'll find out. They still got a day
day off tomorrow though, And James Harden just he hates
missing any time. What are performance twenty nine and thirty
seven minutes? Kawhi with twenty seven and forty one minutes.
Clippers win one twenty six to one thirteen over the Knicks.

(29:11):
We'll take a time out, we'll come back. We got
a couple of closing calls up next, Jose and Downey,
and then Clay Vaughan from Michigan is on hold, looking
forward to that. I'm out of Masland and you're listening
to the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network in AMPI seventy
LA sports.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Dot Com slash season tickets.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
I love this team. I never miss a game.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
You're listening to LA Clippers basketball free ball. Yes, sir,
right here on the LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Clippers win one twenty six to one thirteen over the
Knicks in New York. Coming back down fourteen in the
second quarter, we're up as many as nineteen, win by thirteen.
I'm at a Moaslim. It's Clippers stock here on a
M five seventy LA Sports Jose in Downey, Jose, what's
up here? Clippersock?

Speaker 6 (30:01):
Hey, Adam, thanks for thinking about call man. I agree
with that previous color.

Speaker 10 (30:05):
It takes a little bit of everybody. Man. I've been
a long time Clip fan. I was a little down
on him this year. You taking my calls when I
was down in him, but got a call when they're
also doing well they're doing a little bit of everything.
They're hustling, James Harden showing that after getting hurt that
he wants to play. And I've never thought I see
the day that Kawhi was going to play more minutes

(30:27):
than everybody on the team. They're building onto something. They
just got to keep being scrapping. They got to keep
playing hard and hopefully it turns out. This is the
most excited I've been about them in a long time.
So they got to keep that urgency. And like you said,
that big four.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
To shoot, to be able to shoot fifty or more,
that makes a big difference.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Oh yeah, and you mentioned Kawhi's minutes there, Jose great point.
Last two games has totaled eighty one minutes. He's averaging
thirty seven minutes in. He must be feeling good. They
got ten games left before the playoffs. You gotta keep
them healthy. Just keep them healthy for that seven game series.

Speaker 10 (31:10):
I agree, man, And then every game matters. I mean,
I would love to see Hardin play the next game,
even if he plays some limited minutes. If you're gonna,
you know, if you're gonna give him five minutes per
quarter to try to make that difference for the team,
be that quarterback for the team. That's fine with me.
I think if he wants to play, as long as
it's safe, let him play because he is needed. He

(31:32):
just as much as he's had his ups and downs
and he is there. Is sometimes where he has lapses
on those passes when we really need him, like in
the fourth quarter against Okay see. But they were there
and that's all that matters. I know they were missing
a couple players, but they were there and just built
on it because today was a big sign of we
take it important and we want to make the difference,
and that's why they're on the court.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Level of seriousness was way up, especially the last three
quarters where they only had two turns over that time.
Before we get out of here, we'll close things out
with Clavon from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Clavon, keep it clean,
but keep it live. What's upon?

Speaker 7 (32:13):
Ooh wait back one more? Gives Am with my boy
Adam on Clippers talk. Whoa yeah, yeah, we back in
the running now. We didn't did it first road game
Clippers and came out making it happen like Cavin Crunch,
let's do this. I ain't gonna talk to you, Adam,
you know what I'm saying. Over the whole couple of

(32:34):
points we lost by okay, see that's all right, though,
I'm glad to talk to you.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Now.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
Man, we out there, we was looking good and Clippers
is like that old eighty five Chevy, a Chevy Caprice,
all right, and they gotta take a little bit of
time to warm up. But once to warm up, you forget.
It's like a va underneath the hood. You understand, we
take that time. Don't look everybody's already quick and start
tripping off the first core. We always do that, even

(33:02):
if we have a good one. You gotta realize everybody
has not. They're not used to everybody being healthy out there.
They assume just because we got a whole bunch of
good players, everybody's great. You gotta understand, even great men
have to learn how to play amongst each other. And
now that we got everybody that's healthy out there, fans

(33:22):
looking good, who were getting strong, now we getting strong now.
And we got that eye of the tiger because we
out there, well, we in the sixth spot right now.
All we got to do is maintain that spot. And
if we keep playing one thing I will say on
some real business and on one thing I will say,
when you have the Clippers when they come down to

(33:44):
come down to court and they have a wide open
court that have everybody set up, well, we're not seeing
enough player of rotation. When our players start rotating, like
other teams, they'll rotate, but it's I don't know if
it's like because we are customer playing isolation. This is
a lot of ISO ball. We'll bring it down the
court and nobody is moving, and then it gets to the.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Point where well, part of the reason is clave on.
Part of the reason is they're set up around the
perimeter to let the ISO guys ISO to pull the
defenders out to the perimeter so they have more space
to work with. When you have what rated the two
best ISO players in the game last season with Kawhi
then a big gap than James Harden, you're gonna ISO some.

Speaker 7 (34:26):
That's how it works, right, But it gets predictable, you
know a lot of the times.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
And yeah, but games, your night games though, always come
down to ISO basketball always.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
True, true, true, that's what we pay. Hey, that's what
we paid you know, the stars for the big money,
just for those moments just like this. But I was
looking back, so it got repetitive. And and sometimes other
teams can read us. You know, when we mix it up,
that's good. But when you're doing a play at the
play at the play, I start seeing other teams read
we don't want to pass it, and they and they

(35:00):
when we fall into a slump where you know, they
start playing hero ball, putting enough shots because they look
up at the at the clock and they put up
I feel like that's what happened. And when we were
playing okay season, like I was, so, I was like, man,
I saw Powell open in the corner and then I
was surprised to Kawhi turned or get the turnaround jumper

(35:20):
on the little egghead dude. I can't remember his name.
I'll keep forgetting. I forget his name because I don't
like the dude.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
SOO damn it, Cleven, I gotta run, give me ten seconds,
give me something positive.

Speaker 7 (35:33):
Hey, man, Look, look were going into the next game.
We going to the playoffs. We ain't going to no
play ins. We're not going to it all right, we
got this get strong now?

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Whoa cleve in Michigan After the Clippers win once forty
six to one, thirteen and put themselves in the sixth
spot thanks to a victory of Madison Square Garden. Before
we get out of here, I do want to thank
