Clippers Clippers news happens. Let me guess it's about Kawhi.
Here we are and.
Speaker 2 (00:16):

free and postgame.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
At follow Adam a Adam Owsley.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Knuckles white hair lost, but the Clippers win one oh one,
so one hundred up in Sacramento, Clippers by one over
the Kings at Golden One Center. Take a deep breath,
Clipper Nation. They hold on to get the victory, and
we got Clippers stock for you here on the Patriot
(00:46):
AM eleven fifty if you want to get on eight
seven seven five two zero eleven fifty. While we have
a moment, let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here
on the Patriot AM eleven fifty.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
This is LA Clippers Basketball, AM eleven fifty, d k
E I v. Los Angeles and iHeartRadio station.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Cardiac clips back in effect. I'm not surprised by the
outcome or how close this game was. I said yesterday
I thought it would be a tight game. It would
stress everybody out. It did, and then some blood pressure.
Blood pressure medicine is up right now like that was incredible.
(01:35):
The way the Clippers almost gave this one away down
the stretch that was a playoff like game, did not
feel like that. Get used to it, hopefully, because there's
still work to be done. The Clippers win on Sunday
over Golden State, there will be no worse than the
(01:58):
five seed where they are currently. If they lose, cast
their fate aside, they cast their fate to win, They're
likely going to be in the plan. Likely they didn't
get any help tonight. The Memphis Grizzlies blew a game
where they led till about the last five minutes over
(02:24):
the Denver Nuggets and then gave it away. Minnesota had
an easy one against Brooklyn. The Warriors had an easy
one against Portland. Gotta do everything ourselves, said the joker.
(02:45):
I yeah, the Clippers handled their own business, but the
Grizzlies are dead to me, Ray said. The Grizzlies were
up one away to one, was six to zho five
left in the game. They scored just six points in
(03:08):
the last six minutes and five seconds. Were they all
free throws? Did they get a field goal. I mean,
how long did they go without one? This Clippers team tonight, though,
showed me something. I know. They almost gave this ball
game away. Believe me. I was gripping as well. I
(03:32):
was frustrated as well. After Dj had the steal and
score on Zach Levine and the Clippers were up nine,
I felt comfortable, but then in Damar putback it's a
seven point game hard and lobbed Dj Levine three. It's
(03:53):
a six point game. Zoo floater off a beautiful pass
from Bogie. Clippers up eight. Kawhi goes to the free
throw line a few possessions later after they made him
bleed his own blood, and the Clippers are up ten.
Ninety Five to eighty five was the score. When I
(04:16):
thought the Clippers would be able to slow bleed this
one out. There was four minutes and fifty seven seconds left,
meaning the Clippers scored just six points the rest of
the way. They got outscored fifteen to six in the
(04:38):
last four minutes and fifty seven seconds. Didn't exactly run
through the tape. First, Ellis went to the free throw
line for Sacramento eight point game. Bogey misses a floater.
It was a good look. Couldn't get to go. DeMarcus
fouled by Kawhi. He goes to the lot, makes the
(04:58):
first missus. The second seven point game, Norm comes in
for bogie at the four h nine mark. Kawhi attacks
and gets fouled.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Love seeing that.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Clippers up by nine ninety seven to eighty eight. Kawhi
made his free throws. There's three minutes and fifty three
seconds left, They're up by nine. Do you feel secure yet?
They shouldn't? Levine jumper. After being miserable shooting wise throughout
(05:29):
this ballgame, the Clippers they caught a break with Zach Levine,
who hasn't exactly stepped up in big moments. He has struggled.
I mean he's only been in the playoffs like once,
but he struggled. But he hits that jumper. There, seven
point game, Kawhi has a rear view block on him
by Ellis Murray misses a three pointer. Harden taps it
(05:53):
to himself. He's on the floor. He's trying to call
for a time out. They don't give it to him.
They call a jump ball. That was a bad call.
He had control. He was calling for a time out.
He was looking for the official he would win the
jump ball, tipped it to Zubos. DJ layup off a
(06:15):
Harden long outlet pass. The Clippers are up by nine,
two point fifty eight left. Cy relieve, not exactly. Murray
misses a three. Kawhi missus a three on a shot
I didn't love. On the other end, it felt like
(06:35):
he settled for it. Levine quick strike response a three
pointer of his own. Six point game. DJ misses a three.
I didn't love that shot either. He was open, but
I wanted to see the Clippers force the issue, get
to the paint or die trying. Fifty cent was in
the building. Levin another three. It is a three point game,
(07:02):
ninety nine to ninety six. With a minute twenty four left,
Harden gets fouled by Sibonis on a floater, was short,
makes the first free throw, misses the second. Four point
game done in for norm for defensive purposes. DeMar Derosen jumper.
(07:26):
Two point game. Harden, Kawhi, Zubots Bogie and Norma out
there with fifty one point six seconds left, and this
was probably the play of the game. Harden misses a
jumper put back, no another rebound, Harden gets to the
(07:48):
Norm to Kawhi pump fakes and missus Kawhi tip to
Norm to James Harden, who gets fouled. I think they
got three offensive rebounds on one possession. Here's the call.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Harden letting the shot clock drip away forty seconds left,
thirty eight seconds, tend to shoot Harden deep on the
right side, with eight seconds switch by Ellis.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
It's hardened against.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Ellis stops right over, pulls up off the background, rebound
in the air. Harden's put back short redown again for
the Beard flip it a Norman Poud flippers up by
two twenty four seconds left nine to shoot. Harden right wing,
finds Norm attacks the defense, jumps the air Leonard left
corner face Slane jumper off the heel, Soo can't grab
the rebound. Tap to Norman pal shot fluck goes dord
(08:41):
Tacramento has to foul, and Kegan Murray hacks Harden at
half court with ten point one to go, one hundred
ninety eight. Clippers the hustle the difference against the Kings.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Carlo Jmenez on the call. Daniel West with the highlight package. There,
that's the game. You know why, because the Clippers had
just seven offensive rebounds total tonight. They got three on
that possession. Incredible. The Kings had eleven offensive rebounds, they
(09:27):
had fourteen second chance points, the Clippers just six. But
that possession, ironically, was the Clippers getting the best of
them on the boards and showing that grit and toughness
when they had to have it. Only problem was, well,
(09:50):
James Harden's back at the free throw line makes the first.
It's one oh one ninety eight. This is the second.
Here was another underrated big play late coach Lou calling
for James Harden to foul Zach Levine. You're up by three.
(10:12):
Don't let him get a shot off. He just hit
two threes. I always subscribe to that philosophy. Why let
him get a shot off? The fear is he takes
a shot and you foul him then and it turns
into a four point play or at least three free throws.
(10:32):
How many times has that actually happened. It's so rare.
You know what's less rare just letting them take a
three pointer or down three to tie the game and
making it that strategy by the Clippers play the foul
game Zach Levine would go to the line with three
point nine seconds left off the intentional foul from James
(10:53):
Harden hit both. It's one on one to one hundred.
Time out, Clippers. They call it in bounds play with
Harden as the trigger man. He doesn't throw it into
the backcourt to Norman Powell. There's about to be a
(11:14):
five second violation. He forces it into Bogey. It was
a great steal by Keegan Murray and it's Kings ball
down one with two point two seconds left. Seems similar
to a game with the Clippers down one against the
Kings in overtime, not that long ago. Back and into
(11:37):
it Dome where Kawhi hit the game winner with the
lefty floater. Are the Kings about to return the favor?
No final possession well defended. DeMar Derosen tried to draw
the foul and split the defense of Done and of
Eatsa Zubats on a long right wing three. They didn't
(11:59):
give it to Himlippers go on to win one on
one to one hundred, and now you can have that
sigh of relief, Clipper Nation. We'll take a quick time out,
we'll come back. We'll get to your phone calls Ray Alex,
we're getting to you next. Clippers win by one in Sacramento.
If they can win on Sunday in San Francisco against
(12:21):
Golden State, there'll be the five seed at worse if
they lose that game, infinite possibilities, but a good chance
they'll be in the play in More on that. What
could happen on Sunday next year? On Clippers Stock in
the Patriot Amlym fifty The.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Clippers.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
You're listening to LA Clippers Basketball, take us with you
wherever you are on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Clippers Fine away. Heys to Marto Rosen trying to try
that foul Lay didn't get it, didn't get the shot,
and the Clippers win one on one to one hundred
in Sacramento. They'll finish off this twenty twenty four to
twenty twenty five season in San Francisco on Sunday against
(13:13):
the Golden State Warriors. Ray and Redondo Beach, you're first
up here are Clippers stock without a mazzle?
Speaker 5 (13:21):
Thanks Adam. I wanted to talk to Clipper Nation. I've
seen a lot of posts online people crapping on Harden.
It wasn't a great way to close the game, he
still got us a triple double. And don't you forget
he's been the our MVP of the season and that
man has carried us through thick and thin. So it's
now our turn to have his back. So anyone who's
(13:44):
based in the Los Angeles area, I want to see
you into a dome on Sunday. We're gonna get loud,
we're gonna support our team, and we're gonna get the
fifth seed at least.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
So let's go clips.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
I love it, ray Light, the positivity getting Harden's back.
There My only problem with the way this game. Not
my only problem, it's a big problem. It's a real problem.
First of all, good process is not as important as
just results. At this point, you would love to have both.
We didn't get it down the stretch. They got outscored
(14:18):
fifteen to six. I believe in the last five minutes
they almost let this one go because of miss free
throws a turnover on an inbounds pass as well well.
When the Clippers have had bad losses this season, those
two things were prevalent, and they even had those in
(14:40):
some wins. It has been an issue going back to
Game one against Phoenix up nine with three and a
half minutes left. That was an into a dome. James
Harden missed some free throws late in that one that
would lead to a loss. They had some bad turnovers
(15:01):
up in Sacramento that almost led to a loss earlier
this season. I don't love that, but I'll take the
victory and move on. But yeah, I can't just erase
the last five minutes of the game and act like
(15:23):
the Clippers executed well down the stretch. And if it
happens in a playoff or a playing game or on
Sunday against the Golden State Warriors and they have those
same miscues, you're probably gonna lose. So they do have
to be better. In the first quarter, Norman Palell had
(15:49):
ten points. He was my player to watch. I did
like how he looked overall, even though he finished with
just sixteen. It was a low scoring game. Kawhi Leonard
had twenty of his twenty eight in the first half,
was very aggressive and hit that three pointer before the
half was over to put him up by one at
fifty to forty nine. And then James Harden had the
(16:11):
big third quarter where he had nine of his twenty
three points in the game, and yes, he still finished
with a triple double. Just you can't have that turnover.
You can't have the miss free throws late, and that
has been an unfortunate trend for this team missing free throws.
Layton games, Norman Powell missed two free throws in a
row again. He did it on Tuesday against the Spurs.
(16:41):
That stuff can't happen. So I'm not gonna act like
there aren't things that they can do much better. Bottom line,
that got the win. It's great. I'll take that over everything,
but I'm also gonna play point out some of the shortcomings. Luckily,
(17:03):
DJ had nine of his eleven in the fourth quarter
and Harden had some great feeds to him on a
lob on a long outlet pass. Where would they be
without Derek Jones Junior this season? Incredible? Soon as they
lost Paul George, they called off negotiations. They went out
and got him right away. They pivoted to defense immediately.
(17:26):
That steal and score he had on Zach Lavine to
put them up nine in the fourth quarter. Just ballhawk,
Alex and Florida. You're on clipperstoft with that mouleson what's
up Alex.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
What's up at him. I don't know. If you've just
seen the thing with Anthony Edward. I think he could
be suspended for the for the next game because he
got eighteen technical fouls for this season.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
I thought seventeen was an automatic suspension. Is it eighteen
or is it past seventeen?
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Oh, if you look at if you look it up,
he's just got his eighteenth one uh for the season.
I think he could be out for the He's facing
on one game suspension.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
If this technical isn't rescinded, he will miss the game
on Sunday. You're right, it probably will be. I don't know,
based upon the way I'm seeing people talk about it online.
And I don't think the NBA wants that. But yes,
that is a wrinkle to all of this. They're still
playing Utah, who has nothing to play for, and they
(18:34):
should probably win even without Anthony Edwards. But my guess
is it gets rescinded. But anything else you want to
say about this game?
Speaker 6 (18:41):
Ouse, Yeah, okay, I don't know. Would you? I don't
know when the next time? Well you you do. You've
been doing Clippers talk like every day.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
You don't know when the next Clippers talk is.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
Every day you every day, every day.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
If I'm alive, it's happening tomorrow. I got my cousin
Big Mike coming on. Who's the Warriors fan? We'll preview
that game on Sunday?
Speaker 6 (19:06):
I think, But how come last week when we all
were tied up, the Clippers were ahead of everyone else,
when everybody had the same record. The Clippers were ahead
of everyone, So why would it not be the same
thing now if you remember last week? And so, I
don't know how that wouldn't be the same case because
we have the tiebreaker against the Warriors whether they lose
(19:28):
or win, and they have it against the Wolves. So
how could the Worries. I don't understand how they would
be ahead of us.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
I need someone smarter than me to point this out.
But at that time they had the same record as Denver,
and Denver uh they won again.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
So they went in front of us now.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Because they have because right because the head to head
tie breaker. Well, they finished two and two against them
in the regular season, but Denver has the better conference record,
so that pushes them ahead of the Clippers. And of
course that game in Denver after the fires in Southern California,
that everybody says shouldn't have been played looms large right now.
(20:14):
That hurt them, and obviously having a rescheduled game because
they were only scheduled for three games against Denver this year.
They were two to one against them, but then coming
out of the n Season Tournament, they had another game
against Denver. That's who they caught, so it gave them
a chance to tie the season series at two to two.
They're both forty nine and thirty two. And because it
goes from head ahead and then bumps down to conference record,
(20:37):
and Denver's thirty one and twenty in conference and the
Clippers are just twenty eight and twenty three. That's why
they're behind Denver.
Speaker 6 (20:44):
No, I understand that Denver one. I just don't know
how Golden State could be ahead of as those.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Well they're not now Golden.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
State, Okay, if we lose to them now, because they're
one game behind us, they've they've lost the game. See
how they would get ahead of it at all?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Even I think I think it's because at that point
it would come back to three way ties like that
would get that would get extremely messy. But Alex, do
you have anything else say about today's game?
Speaker 6 (21:15):
Oh no, no, I'll let you get to another call.
I appreciate you, Adam. I was just very confused about
that because I don't know what's going.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
On that's consensus right now. But the Clippers did win
one on one to one hundred. Quick time out here
on Clippers Stock will come back. We'll get to more
phone calls. Eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty
eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty. You're listening
to Clippers stock here on the Patriot Am eleven fifty
as the Clippers are at forty nine wins on the
(21:44):
season after winning by one up in Sacramento and a
chance to get to fifty wins if they could win
in Golden State or in San Francisco on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
This is the La Clippers Audio Network, Best fans in
best arena in the entire sport.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Take us within you wherever you are on the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Back to Clippers basketball.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Clippers one on one, King's one hundred. Wipe the sweat
from your brow because the Clippers made us sweat in
this one. Big time miss free throws, a turnover late,
they sweep Sacramento low, they come through Elvis in La
(22:25):
you're a Clipper stop without a Maslin?
Speaker 6 (22:28):
What's up at him? How you doing?
Speaker 3 (22:30):
What's up? Els?
Speaker 7 (22:31):
I was just I was just calling because when I
was watching the first quarter, I was like, what is
going on? Why is everyone moving like it's warm up?
I felt like they came out of the gate super slow.
What did you think during the first quarter?
Speaker 3 (22:47):
You think they came out of the gate slow. I
think both teams were missing. Uh maybe, I don't know.
I thought there was some good defense being played early on,
and the Clippers had. My issue was the turnovers to
start things off. I mean, this game was plagued by
offensive fouls. I've never seen so many offensive fouls called.
(23:09):
There might have been seven. I've never seen anything like it. Yeah,
we had an offensive foul on one end, offensive foul
on the other end. Just back to back dueling offensive
fouls going on. But the Clippers had six or seven
turnovers in the first quarter alone. They cleaned it up
in the second quarter, and then the Kings ended up
having seven turnovers I think in the second and the
(23:30):
Clippers led by one at the half. They win this
game by one, one oh one to one hundred in Sacramento.
But yes, I know when people were complaining about the officiating.
A lot of this is about the offensive fouls that
were called, and they were just offensive foul happy the refs.
We'll take a quick time out, we'll come back, we'll
close things out. Clippers by one. All's well, then ends well? Right,
(23:56):
win's a win. Right, There's some things to clean up,
especially because the same things have been happening all season long,
and they almost cost them this ball game, and they
will in the playoffs or on Sunday if they happen again.
Most likely, I'm out of Bosland. When you're listening to
Clippers talking here on the Patriot avlone fifty.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
The League Clippers, you're listening to LA Clippers Basketball, take
us with you wherever you are on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
I would highly recommend that the Clippers win on Sunday
against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco and avoid
the playing. But hey, that's just me, maybe because I've
seen what can happen in the playing before. I remember
twenty twenty two didn't go well for the Clippers. They
win their worst the fifth seed on Sunday. You lose,
(24:44):
you're likely the seventh seed taken on the Memphis Grizzlies
in a seven to eight matchup. Winner goes on to
play Houston. The first round loser plays the winner of
the nine to ten playing game. I don't know, guys,
that could get scary. It was scary enough in this
game where the Clippers pull. We're out one on, one
to one hundred before we get out of here is
the Clippers won in Sacramento. I want to thank Clippers organization,
(25:06):
Ralph Lawler, Brian Seeman, Noah Igo, Carlo Jimenez on the call,
Daniel West back here in the bank, big brother, Jake Warner.
We'll talk to you guys at eleven thirty on Sunday.
