Show of Record, your chance to react to everything.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Clippers Clippers news happens.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Let me guess it's about Kawhi. Here we are and.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Now here he is the host of your LA Clippers
pre and postgame.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
At follow Adam a Adam Mosley. I'm going to Disney World
where the Clippers just won in Orlando ninety six to
eighty seven over the Magic. Welcome in a Clippers stock.
I'm out of Osland with you for about the next
forty minutes. Here. Eight seven seven five to two zero
eleven fifty is the phone number. Eight seven seven five
to two zero eleven fifty. Huge victory for the Clippers
(00:46):
because style of play and the magnitude of this ball game.
There are only seven left. They needed this one after
a loss in Cleveland yesterday, and they were able to
beat the Orlando Magic at their own game. They want
to pull you into the mud, into the muck. They
want to drag you down with them, drag you down
to where their field goal percentage is because their defense
(01:10):
is that good and the Clippers only shot forty four
percent from the field, but they hit so many big
shots when they had to and their defense was even
better than Orlandos when it needed to be. And the
five offensive rebounds big time. Just an incredible victory. And
(01:33):
Kawhi Leonard struggled with his shot because the Orlando Magic
will do that to you. Eight of twenty two. Typically
you say that's an off game. It is. I'm okay
with it because he got to twenty two shots. He
didn't see that he was three of thirteen and curl
up and go in the feudal position, because Kawhi would
(01:54):
never do that. He's a top seventy five player. Ever,
this is what he does. Continues to believe in the
next shot. Remember the game and the game winner against
Sacramento he had. He was off that game, but he
said the Kobe line, I'm going oh for thirty before
(02:15):
I go ohver nine, before I go over ten. I'm
gonna keep firing. He believes in that next shot going in,
and his first two buckets of the fourth quarter were crucial.
He had eight of his twenty one in the fourth.
Some came during inconsequential time. You could say that runout
with the dunk as I Vista Zubas gave it to
him in transition to put him up. I think by
ten game was in hand. But not those two buckets
(02:38):
to start the fourth quarter. Not that tough fade away
over Franz Wagner and then the little baseline righty push
shot tough from Kawhi. This Clippers team overcame some shooting
slumps in the ballgame. We expected it to happen. First quarter,
(03:00):
they go about three minutes and fifteen seconds without a
mad field goal. They're down by six heading out of
the first quarters, twenty eight to twenty two. But something
interesting we saw, and this is how I knew there
was a different level of sense of urgency from coach Lou.
Kawai came back in late in the first quarter. Drew
(03:21):
Ju Banks had a really bad turnover. He and coach
Lou had a conversation. He got pulled. Kawai came in
with a minute left in the first quarter, after it
had already come out. It doesn't ever come back in
again this time he did. Still started the second I
think played the entire second quarter. Started the second with
(03:44):
the Clippers down six. Zuu batoum dj Kawhi, Bogie and
Zoo started to get to work. When the Clippers took
the lead, it was big Zoo in that second quarter.
Zoo gets here's a bucket and is staring down the
Magic bench. I think he was getting into it with
(04:05):
Mo Wagner, former Laker Michigan guy, brother of Franz on
the bench. He's out with an ACL injury. Sucks, but
I think they were talking some junk. The Euros. Is
that what so? Brian Shaw says. They call themselves and
Mo Wagner German. They probably have some history. I don't
(04:29):
know how much how friendly it was, but if Eata
zubats a little fire under him, then he gets a
putback and one the next possession down to put him
up thirty one, two thirty. The Clippers would end up
on a thirteen to two run after Viata Zubatch drew
a foul in the second quarter, went to the free
(04:51):
throw line hit both and the Magic were in a
deep funk. They had just two points. Midway through the
second quarter. The Clippers defense clamp City traveled. It was incredible.
The Clippers ended up getting up by nine after what
(05:11):
would be a fourteen to one run at forty to
thirty one. Orlando went one for their first thirteen shots.
Way went one for thirteen to start the second quarter
from the field with five turnovers. Incredible, but then the
Clippers gave it back after being up by nine. Hardened
(05:34):
turnover Corey Joseph three after they had missed ten straight threes,
hard at his float blocked Han's field goal. Now it's
forty to thirty six. Done turnover, Ben Caro layups seven
tozer magic run. Clippers only up by two. Kawhi misses
the three. Casey p three and just like that, the
Clippers are down forty one to forty. They were up
(05:56):
by nine minutes later, quick run by Orlando. The Clippers
ended up trailing by two after a Chris Dunn three
pointer at the very end of the first half that
would end with the magic sixteen to five run, and
(06:16):
the Clippers are down by two after leading by nine
in the second quarter, forty seven to forty five at
the half. But Big Zoo was perfect in the first half.
He was five of five and Carlo and I on
the broadcast literally as they're about to get back to
action to start that third quarter, they're like you know,
might want to give it to a Viza Zubots. He
hasn't missed a shot. He got the first bucket, the
(06:39):
first opportunity with a hook shot to start the third quarter.
It's forty seven. All Clippers, though, would get down fifty
three to forty nine. After the Magic made a little
bit of a run and the Clippers had back to
back turnovers. VERSU was James Harden, then it was Kawhi.
(07:01):
Leonard ben Carro got a friendly role. They were down
fifty one to forty seven. They had a possession where
Kawhi missed zoo offensive rebound. Then Norm gets blocked by
Wendell Carter. Then done missus a three. They had extra opportunities.
They couldn't do anything with it. Wendell Carter Junior hits
a jumper. They're up six timeout, Clippers out of the timeout.
(07:24):
Norm quick layup going right. It's fifty three to forty nine.
Then a done Steele to Zubats for a long floater
fifty three to fifty one. Another stop in Kawhi ties
the game at fifty three as he went to the line.
The Clippers ended up going on a nine to oh run.
(07:45):
It was critical after Kawhi was fouled on a floater.
He went to the line, went one of two. It
was a nine oh run for the Clippers. But this
was one of the biggest moments of the game. There
were a few of them. When it's a tight contest
like this, when it's a low scoring affair, it makes
(08:06):
every possession so critical. I love a game like this,
not all the time, but I love it once in
a while. I'll tell you what change after we pause
ten seconds for station identification. Here on the Patriot AM
eleven fifty.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
This is LA Clippers Basketball AM eleven fifty k e IV,
Los Angeles and iHeartRadio station.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
After Kawhi had a push shot to put the Clippers
up fifty eight to fifty five, Ben Carol hit a
three to tie the game. Bogie comes in for Norm
at the four to eleven mark of the third Kawhi
goes out of the ball game two. Harden gets a
lefty layup to go. It's sixty to fifty eight Clippers.
(08:52):
Then Harden has a steal and a layup off a
bad pass from Orlando. Clippers are up by four. It
was just a tie game at fifty eight. Now it's
sixty two fifty eight Clippers. Anthony Black floater two point game, Harden,
(09:13):
but toom Zou Bogie and DJ is your five man lineup.
Harden hits a three, Clippers up five. Franz Wadner goes
through the UH Charity stripe and Harden and DJ had
an animated conversation. But at the end of it they
dapped each other up. They did their cool handshake. I
(09:37):
love seeing it because at first I was a little
bit concerned Harden was telling Derek Jones junior or something.
It was all good afterwards, good leadership. It's a three
point game. Anthony Black would miss like the next three
shots for the Orlando Magic, but Harden misses a three
(09:58):
and DJ has a huge put back dunk to make
it sixty seven to sixty five Clippers. After that little
conversation between those two, van Harden gets a floater Goaltending's
called sixty nine sixty two Clippers. Franz would floater to
floater the other way. It's a five point game. Harden
(10:19):
got blocked, Franz layup. It's a three point game. You
can say it's just a three point game. In a
game like this with points at a Premium. It felt
like a six or seven point lead for the Clippers
heading into the fourth, up sixty nine to sixty six.
It was just three points, but remember they were down
two heading in to the third quarter, so they went
plus five and James Harden just had some great plays
(10:42):
there down the stretch of the third when Kawhi went out.
Now Kawhi comes back in to start the fourth, starts
with Franz Vogner missing a three. The Clippers have but
toom Kawhi, DJ Bogie and Norm out there. Norm gets
a layup going right, and I'm starting to get excited
because because mister fourth quarter for this team, as he
(11:04):
has been the last two seasons, scores their first points
of the fourth and he would end up with nine
of his twenty one points in the fourth. Norman Powell
Franz gets a layup. Then DJ hits a three off
a quick feed from Kawhi Leonard as they were moving
(11:24):
the ball beautifully, seventy four to sixty eight. Derek Jones
Junior big shot. But the Clippers were starting to get
in foul trouble. I was worried. They picked up two
fouls the first two minutes of the fourth thought they
might get into the penalty early. Kawhi, though, then hits
a fade away over Franz Wagner tough, tough shot, unguardable.
(11:45):
Clippers are up eight. Ben Carro comes right back with
an a one five point game. Now Kawhi floater on
the right baseline over two seven point game. Kawhi gets
a block on Franz on the other but the Magic
got it to go after an extra opportunity. The Clippers
(12:09):
were just in an absolute dog fight. Harden comes in
for Kawhi at the eight minute mark. He misses a layup,
Bogie gets to steal on Ben Carro, and norm then
gets the easy layup. There was from wild turnovers back
(12:29):
and forth and just chaotic sequences like that. The Clippers
are up eighty to seventy five. Now in the fourth,
not the third, it feels like a third quarter score. No,
it's the fourth in this defensive heavyweight battle. Now you
get the Bogey steal on ben Caro, and Bogie takes
(12:57):
it the other way and knocks down a like I'm
putting this on my shoulders right now. I know I
haven't hit a shot, but it's my time, and I
mean man, Carroll was in transition, Bogie is backing up,
and it looked like James Harden with the countless strips
(13:18):
he had in this ballgame, like it was permeating throughout
the team, like Bogie said, Oh, it's that easy to
get a steal. Now it's my turn. I'll get one
on Ben Carroll. And I think that ended up in
a normal layup. But then the very next possession it
was Boge getting that three pointer. This is one I'd
(13:38):
like to see again. I got a check and make
sure I got this sequence right in the fourth quarter,
because it was wild, guys, I'm telling you. At eight
to seventy five, they called it a Bogie block on
Ben Carroll at least on what I saw. So it
(14:01):
was his block. What should have been an easy two
that would have brought Orlando to within one, or it
could have been an in one another one for Ban Carrow.
Instead it's a block from Boge in transition backing up
against Ban Carrol, an incredible play, and instead the Clippers
getting easy one going the other way from Norman Powell.
(14:23):
So we're talking about a four point swing. Now they're
up eighty to seventy five. Anthony Black misses, Bogey gets
the rebound, brings up the floor, no pass needed. He's
gonna take that three point shot and hit it with
six forty five left to put them by eight, their
largest lead at that time. Incredible, incredible from Bogey. He's
(14:48):
been one of my favorite players for a long time.
I'm biased, I know, but I love seeing it. Now.
We got done, Norm Hardened, Boge and Zoo bots out there.
Bogie misses a three, Ben Carro miss, Zoo rebound, Harden floater.
(15:09):
Lead goes from eight to ten. Corey Joseph quickly hits
a three pointer, seven point game, hard and bad turnover
and Wendell Carter Junior gets the steal, gets into Franz
layup from KCP. Five point game. Starters back in at
(15:29):
the four thirty six mark for the Clippers. Now, I
saw some people on Twitter that were Hayden on Chris
Dunn being back in, But I think it worked out
just fine with the starters late in the game to
close things out. They get back in. It's a five
point game. Zoo miss is a spinning floater, but the
(15:51):
Magic have a miss on the other end and Kawhi
Leonard gets a board. Underrated part of this ballgame underrated
part of Kawhi Leonard. He had eight rebounds, not easy
to come by when Big Zoo has twenty. In almost
another twenty twenty game, he had eighteen inch twenty, but
Kawhi was flying for some of those rebounds. James Now
(16:14):
misses along two, Chris Dunn gets a tip out for
another possession, Nor misses a three. Done gets another tipout,
another offensive rebound, and this time Norman Palell hits the three,
huge shot put him back up by eight. Ben Carro
(16:38):
now loses it off the strip from James Harden going
down the lane. James Harden quick hands Kawhi would miss,
but if Hesa Zubos got the board and was fouled,
goes one of two Clippers up nine. Then Done gets
a crazy deflection, but couldn't come up with the basketball
as he is slipping sliding onto the court next to Franz.
(17:02):
Couldn't get it. Magic ball. Wendell Carter Junior, easy two
headed dunk. Done, then throws a pass a little bit
too low to Zoo. It's broken up and there's a
foul undone Joseph to the line. Five point game. It
wasn't gonna be easy. Norm draws a foul the other
(17:22):
way hits both seven point game clutch free throws by
Norman Powell. Don't discount that stuff. We've seen the Clippers
miss too many big shots at the charity stripe this season.
Harden gets another strip on Ben Carro. It goes off
of his knee and out of bounce. I think that
(17:43):
was the one I was thinking of originally done misses
the three. Ben Carrow misses a three, Harden gets fouled,
goes to the line. The Clippers end up putting this
one away, even with him going one of two. As so,
why had a runout dunk where a Visa Zubos was
looking for him in transition and a ten point lead
(18:07):
in the game like this felt like twenty and the
Clippers go on to win by nine. Kawhi would knock
down two more free throws at the very end. Ninety
six to eighty seven was your final quick time out.
We'll come back, We'll get to your phone calls eight
seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven
five to two zero eleven fifty. What a win Clipper
(18:32):
Nation needed. It had to have it. Kawhi wasn't at
his best, but was when it was required late and
James Harden finding other ways to contribute. Six steals might
have been seven, might have been eight. My box core
says six. I'm out of Maslin and you're listening to
(18:54):
Clippers hock here on the Patriot M loven fifty.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
I love this team. I never miss a game.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
You're listening to LA Clippers basketball free ball, Yes, sir,
right here on the LA Clippers Audio network.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Clippers win in Orlando ninety six to eighty seven over
the Magic. I'm out of Mosland and with that, the
Clippers have clinched a better record than Phoenix and Sacramento.
And we'll be in the playing tournament. At the very least,
we're aiming higher, but at the very least we'll be
in the play in tournament. Saw that from La Murray
(19:33):
on Blue Sky. He also pointed out that this was
an Orlando Magic game. To a tee. The Clippers beat
them at their own game. They're dead, lasting points in
the paint, they're almost last in pace. This was a
classic Orlando Magic game if you pay attention to this
squad at all, and the Clippers beat them anyways in
(19:55):
their place that is a very good road win. So
most games with twenty points in a month over Kawhi
Leonard's career, He's had twelve now in March of twenty
twenty five. He had twelve in March of twenty twenty four,
(20:16):
twelve in January of twenty twenty one, twelve in December
of twenty eighteen with the Raptors, and twelve in November
of twenty sixteen with the San Antonio Spurs. Bar Gov
from Maryland, You're on clipperstop with out of Maaz and
what's up.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
My guy? Ay? Two? What's up man?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
How are we doing? How are you feeling after this one?
Speaker 4 (20:42):
Feeling good? Dude? That was just a classic blue collar,
dirty ugly two thousand and five Eastern Conference basketball.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Then bring your lunch Pale.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
That was some four Pistons pacers. You know, just pretty physical, dirty,
dirty stuff. Man.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
It was like the five Piston Spurs finals exactly.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Exactly, yeah, man, I mean you summed it up great.
It was the team stuck with it. You know, two
best guys didn't shoot well, turnovers, but they defended. You know,
they stayed in it, they stayed aggressive. Everyone else contributed, man,
Like the literally zubach I would say was the MVP,
especially the first half. He held it down hard in
(21:33):
the third quarter and it just the bench man. Everyone contributed.
They played hard, defensively, done was everywhere obviously but you
name it. But toom dj norm everyone just literally everyone
Bogdanovich defense, like everyone was just keeping their guy in front,
you know, active with their hands and yeah, you know,
(21:55):
I think like you were saying, Kawhi, just battling through
a tough shooting, tough shooting night. Was was great to
see and.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Why it is so mentally tough to start three or
thirteen and to still get over twenty points, to still
have the confidence to take the type of shots that
he takes, the high degree of difficulty jumpers that he
was able to get to go in the fourth quarter,
especially that fall away over Franz and the push shot
on the right baseline over the double team. It's like,
(22:25):
you know, how much confidence you got to have in
yourself and how you know you have to have that
next play mentality, not just next man up, but next
play like whatever, like keep firing.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Absolutely, and that's a tall, strong, physical defense, multiple bodies
that make it tough on you, you know, so for
him to just keep fighting, keep fighting, keep fighting, getting
in the lane more. You know, he adjusted to their
physicality as the game went on, and yeah, it was fantastic,
hardened six deals. I mean, you know, third quarter had
that flurry and you know, I want to highlight one play.
(23:01):
I'm gonna I'm gonna play uh you know, pop uh
pop Philosopher here. There was one play that I think
is very It's almost a life lesson, you know. I
think it was a third quarter where Harden Zubasch ran
a pick and roll. Zubach got deposition on a switch.
He was calling for the ball, pleading for it. Uh,
Harden didn't give it to him for whatever reason, but
(23:22):
he drove, you know, so Zubach got out of the
way and Harden drove. As he was driving, Zubach got
he got pissed basically, but then in a split second
he just says f that and he just runs to
the rim. Harden ends up making the layup. He didn't
have to give a putback or anything, but you know,
he just sprints it back into it. And that to
me was like that's life. You know. Sometimes you fight
(23:45):
hard for a good position, you don't get it. You
get pissed, but you just quickly bounce back. You quickly
get back into the play and boom. You know, you
stay positive. And that's what the Clippers have done. Man,
they just fought. That was a very uh micro you know,
micro example of what you need to do as a
team and as we do his people in life.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
So I love that, Bargov. Some people be saying it's
not that deep. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it is.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
That's real.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I love you.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
I'm the anti not that deep guy in the group chat.
You know you need one of those guys. I'll just
philosophize everything.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
O love the phone call, Bargov. Hope to talk to
you on Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
All right, yep, take care of them, Barga.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
With a phone call. We'll take a quick time out.
We'll come back. You'll hear from Viza Zubats who, by
the way, finished with eighteen and twenty and five assists.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
I think the.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Clippers have lost one game this season when he gets
four assists or more. But yes, he didn't get the
basketball in that possession. Okay, how can you still help
the team there? He ended up doing it. He ended
up still crashing down there doing the hard stuff, great
(24:57):
great memory and recall there from bargov Clippers win ninety
six to eighty seven in Orlando over the magic quick
time out, will come back. More Clippers dock here on
the Patriot mleven fifty.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
I love this team. I never miss a game.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
You're listening to LA Clippers basketball free ball, Yes, sir,
right here on the LA Clippers audio network.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
And certainly what felt like a must win game, the
Clippers got that win ninety six to eighty seven in
Orlando over the magic. Welcome back in. I'm Adam Mosland.
This is Clippers sock here on the Patriot AM eleven fifty.
Remember when the Dodgers are on AM five to seventy
LA Sports, we will reside here on the Patriot MM
fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty is
(25:40):
the phone number. Let's go to tagus in Walnut. Been
too long, Tags?
Speaker 5 (25:46):
How you been all right?
Speaker 4 (25:48):
Know?
Speaker 5 (25:48):
Adam? You know I got busy, takes care of the
folks and work. But you know I listened to you
and Carlo on the radio on these early games, and
you guys just do an amazing job make the drive
so much easier. So I wanted to say that first.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Oh, I appreciate that, man, Carlo makes it the easy listen.
I'm just there. I'm just a guy.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Yeah, you do a great job, Adam. And but yeah,
I mean, like you said, Adam, everyone had a hand
in the game. And like DJ, he had that put
back dunk and he's having some amazing highlight reel put
back dunks this year, and that one was just amazing.
And he had a big three in the in the
(26:33):
early in the fourth quarter, and then like you said,
Bogie had that feel in three and the biggest possession
of the game was when I think they were up five,
like you said, and Dunk got those two offensive boards
and Powell hit that three. I mean that really kind
of gave him a little bit of comfort right there.
But he also had that one tip and it went
(26:54):
all the way to the back court and Orlando only
had like three seconds to put the shot up.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
So now that's a good point. Even though he didn't
get the steal, he ran down the shot clock there
because of it.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Yeah, and that totally reminds me of a Pat Bev play,
him diving and doing that. Its just, I mean, people
hating on him, they just don't know basketball. That said, Adam,
you know when Kawi had that struggle early on, like
after I think a week or two, and who's going
(27:27):
through a slump. The only thing that worried me was
last year, last season when he was playing so well,
he had that training camp in preseason, and this year
he didn't, and I didn't know if he would be
able to get that shooting touch. It kind of reminded
me of MJ when he came back for the half season.
He never was vintage MJ until he went the foll
(27:50):
year and had the preseason and training camp.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
And I kind of called BS on that because he
averaged like thirty two in the first series I think
against Charlotte, and he played well against Orlando. Accept at
the end of some games, but keep going.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
I'm sorry, Well, even even eighty five percent of Kawhi.
I feel like vintage Kauhi of last year is enough.
Given how Powell's been playing and Big Zoo uh and
(28:22):
I think we're in a good place. Just got to
the role players can keep hitting their threes, so we're
gonna be a tough team to beat. And lastly, Adam,
I just wanted to say, uh, and we beat the
Magic and speaking of the magic, there's another magic that
I wanted to talk about. I wanted to say I
(28:42):
thought Magic was the greatest laker of all time, but
I wanted to say before said it again, the greatest
no look that he ever threw was Zoo to the
Clippers for the for the legend.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Mike Muscala Tay just went legend here too. Hey, just
thank you for the phone call. As always appreciates you.
One of my favorites. UH missed hearing from you. Clippers
didn't miss late in this game. They win ninety six
to eighty seven. They played their best when their best
was required, and it looked like they were going all
(29:19):
out for this victory because they need to be right
now it's just seven games left. They look like they
played with desperation out there, knowing that the dreaded playing
is right there. It's looming, it's lurking behind them. It's
the Jaws music. No no, no, no no. You want
to stay out of the water, stay out of the planet,
(29:40):
and hopefully the Clippers are able to We'll update you
on the standings when we come back. Eight seven seven
five to two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five
two zero eleven fifty Clippers win ninety six to eighty
seven in Orlando and just a complete dogfight of a
basketball game. But this is the type of stuff you're
(30:02):
going to see in the playoffs. This translates to the postseason.
I'm out of Mauslim and this is Clippers talk here
on the Patriot AM fifty.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
I love this team. I never miss a game.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
You're listening to LA Clippers basketball free ball, Yes, sir,
right here on the LA Clippers Audio network.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Clippers are victorious. They go three and one on the
four game road trip. They book ended with a victory
in Orlando ninety six to eighty seven. Are they going
to Disney World after No, there's plenty of work to
be done with seven games left. But I want to
hear from coach Lou postgame here on Clippers Talk after
(30:42):
this big win.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
Just taking care of basketball. You know, we was up
nine and turn the ball I think three times in
a row, and they second, you know, regain the lead
and take the leading like you said at halftime, So
you know, eleven turnovers at halftime with just way too many.
And we talked about it before last time we played
this team, we had twenty five turnovers and so second
half only having five turnovers. Taking care of basketball, we
got good quality shots. They were a really good defensive team.
(31:06):
Some shots we didn't make, and sometimes they were just
playing really good defense.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
You mentioned the turnovers improving here too. From that point. Obviously,
Kawhi has been kind of balancing back here lately.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Tonight.
Speaker 6 (31:17):
I thought the second half he he got his rhythm back,
you know, I thought he struggled in the first half.
Second half kind of found his rhythm. But defensively, and
like I said, I thought we were really good all
night long, you know, outside the turnovers, giving 'em free
transition points, but defensively it is where we gonna make
our mark and our staple, and now it carried us
through tonight.
Speaker 7 (31:34):
Typically the man chick in the third quarter had their struggles,
but in the real things to that kind of make
sure they they stayed out of reach in the fourth
quarter towards the enders, or take you to kind of
lock that down to finish out strong.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
Yeah, defense, you know, I thought we did a good
job of Garden. I thought our small unit really did
a good job of turning the game around, just going
small and be able to switch one through five, be
able to scramble, and then we did a good job
with that. And so uh by no stretch for offensively,
you know, only scoring ninety six points, but holding him
to eighty seven points was huge for US.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Coachoo talking a little bit about James Harden able to
impose his will and just kind of handle the.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Ball, run the show.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Yeah, I thought, you know, he really got it going.
We was able to tack some mismatches. He's able to
get downhill, get into the paint, score the basketball in
that second half. And that's what he's done for us
all year alone, you know, him and Norm you know,
Zoo and Kawha's absence being great, you know. And so
for James, like I said, to get going that second
half really helped us out a lot.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Word hard Clippers wanted it more at the end.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Talk a little bit about that, Nah, I can't say that.
I mean, we just know that, you know, every game
for US is a playoff game, you know, trying to
get to that sixth seed, and so you know, we're
scrapping for our lives. And I thought they did the
same thing. Like I said, most had him ready to play.
They were scrapping and competing, and they miss some shots
that they normally make as well. You know, so when
you got the two and three deep into teams in
the league playing against each other, it's gonna be nice
(32:55):
like this, you know. And so like I said, they
guarded the heck out of us, and it was hard
for us to score to basketball. And so you know,
that's what most brings to this team, is just tough
in its defense. And like I said, we had we
had we had struggle scoring the basketball.
Speaker 7 (33:09):
Coach, talk about finishing this year around.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
You guys wanted to continue to play well going into
the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (33:15):
Yeah, having seven games left, you know, going back home
for five in a row. You know, so we got
to take care of home. That's gonna be our main thing.
If we take care of home like we're supposed to,
then I think would be in some really good shape.
Speaker 7 (33:27):
Coach, you mentioned it, We're gonna be some tell teams
playing each other defensively. If there's a particular par takeaway
like this, uh, a particular thing that happened tonight that
you played to see happen to finish out the season,
what you.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Take with if you like to see keep happen.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Rebound the basketball, you know, I think, yeah, we our
rebound on forty eight to thirty two. You know, so
just rebounding the basketball something that we struggled with in
the past. This year we've gotten a lot better, you know,
Big Zoo having twenty you know tonight, you know, so
just you know, continue to rebound the basketball, continue to
get back in transition, take care of the basketball. Those
are the three things that really stand out to me.
Speaker 7 (34:01):
You mentioned doing his thing. You know, when you have
Kawhi and Harden on the floor together, they're gondraw a
lot of attention. What is it like happening in that set?
Speaker 4 (34:09):
Like being super Ney to go is another.
Speaker 7 (34:10):
Option to kind of keep things baalance.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
Yeah, I mean it's huge. You know, Zoo's being huge
for us all year. Gives us the post presence downloaded,
slow the game down, to calm the game down, great
around the rim, in those short rolls, and so, you know,
he's been really good, and like I said, he's really
developed and got better and better each year.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Thanks to hoop Jab for the postgame audio from coach
Lou after the Clippers win ninety six to eighty seven
in Orlando. And improved a forty three and forty two
