Orioles Sweep the REDS and get ready for a NATS Battle - Amy Jennings from MASN checks in

The Orioles lead the American league in wins AND homeruns. At the pace they are winning currently , they are on track to win 109 games. It's only May and the season is long but let's check in with Amy Jinnings from MASN to find out what she's hearing from the O's Clubhouse today.

Amy Jennings, my favorite reporter fromMasson, is back after an incredible weekend
for our Orioles. Amy, Idon't even know where to start. Yeah,
I'm glad today was an off daybecause we can just keep the celebration
going. I mean, great backto back series for the Orioles. It
was incredible. And the thing isCincinnati. I mean, I know they

had been struggling a little bit,but they've got some good players, right,
they got that what is his name, Dela Cruz or whatever? Yeah,
yeah, I mean Cincinnati. Cominginto the series, I think they
were the twenty fifth ranked offense,so not doing super well, but they
have talented bats in that lineup.I mean Elie de la Cruz, who
proved to be like their best batthis weekend. You saw that clearly.

But they have India, you know, a couple other guys that are really
well and they're a team that's goingto compete for a playoff spot. Just
to really slow start to the season, but I mean Oriol's pitching was is
dominant, and those city connected uniformsonce again proved to be anytime a team
wears them, they lose. SoI of no, I can't they're ugly.

They're just ugly across the entire league. They're ugly. They're ugly in
Cincinnati, and they're ugly in Baltimore. And Tuesday night Tomorrow night. Uh,
it's the Orioles and the Gnats,and they're both gonna wear their city
connect That's like, that's a badnight for you. It's a double jinks.
No one's gonna win. Who's gonnawin when they both wear city connect

A yeah, yeah. So soanyway, we've got two games against the
Gnats, and the Gnats aren't doingvery well this year either, No,
I mean some games. They're ascrappy team, right, Like they call
them the scrappy Gnats. They weren'tsupposed to be a great team. You
know, they finished at the inthe bottom of the division last year.

You just didn't know what you weregonna get. But they're they're kind of
scrappy and they're they're pulling out somegames. So it'll be interesting to see
what they do against these hot starters. I mean, the Orioles starting pitching
was just outstanding three starts in arow with six plus shutout frames from Orioles
starting pitching. This weekend that's thefirst time since nineteen ninety five. So

they're coming into this series hot it. We'll see what the National Bats are
able to do. But if youget good starts out of Corbyn Burns and
you're gonna see Bradish again making hissecond start of the season, it'll it'll

you know, paying attention to thegame or were you doing anything else?
I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, I watched him a good
bit. I think I paid moreattention to John's mean start, of course
and cole Irvians. But but Idid pay attention to Dean Kramer. So
why would that Well, the reasonI ask is and he pitched through the
sixth inning, and it was ineither the fifth or the sixth. I'm

pretty sure it was a sixth though, But and they didn't comment the guy,
and I forgot because they've been letme ask you this, I'm bouncing
all over the place. Why didthey keep switching the announcers. It's like
you got two people who you're usedto and then they're like, oh,
we're not going to be on forthe next three days. We're bringing somebody
else in, so I don't evenknow, go ahead, the broadcast crew.

It's it's interesting because they have sucha you know, a diverse group.
There's so so many different people thatmakes it kind interesting. But yeah,
you get used to somebody and thenI like, I like Melanie and
everything. But you know, it'slike they were rotating anyway. So uh
So Dean Kramer is pitching. Itwas the sixth inning, and the guys

who were were talking to they didn'tsay anything about what I'm going to point
out, but I specifically saw DeanUh there was something wrong with his finger.
I don't know if it was ablister or if he ripped a fingernail.
Did he say anything after the game? Did Kramer say anything of the
locker room? Yeah, I wasn't. I wasn't in the locker room after
his So I'm not sure. ButI'm gonna have to look back on that

interesting because there's been so much discussion, Like you know, fans and porters
are even questioning, uh, BrandonHyde after game, like why he's pulling
his starters so early. I mean, John Means has kind of made sense.
I mean seven innings he could havegone out there again, but makes
sense. He's coming back h froman injury. But same thing with Cole

Urburn. It seemed like he couldhave stayed out there. Same thing with
Dean Kramer. So maybe that hassomething to do with it. Maybe maybe
it was a blister or something likethat. He kept shaking his finger on
it, and I saw when itwhen it first happened, he was like
wow, and and he had Youcould see that he shook his hand and
that he was in pain. Butno one was saying anything about it.
So is that something that Mason likewouldn't want to comment on. I mean,

why didn't you you say something mighthave just happened to him. I
don't know what his finger was like, you know, Yeah, that's that's
interesting. I will say the Oriolescan be a little it is, yeah,
a little discreet with their injuries andthey wait a while to see,
you know, just how severe itis before they try to disclose anything.

Right, but something like a blister, I wouldn't imagine, you know,
they would they would hold back fromsaying that. Yeah, well, if
you if you take a look atthe sixth inning and you'll see something was
wrong with his hand. I don'tknow what it was. Hopefully, hopefully
he's okay. So uh, andhome runs continue to be We're just like
that, we're monsters of the homerun. What do we have fifty one
now? Yeah, they still leadthe league in home runs, and I

think it has a lot to dowith just how aggressive they are, you
know, at the plate this year, across across the entire lineup. I
mean you see them, you know, swinging really early on. It's also
why they're not walking as much thisyear. But they're being a lot more
aggressive. They're hitting the ball alot harder this year. You see that
from Adleie Rutchman, who used tobe you know, the the on base

prints and that's cut down a littlebit this year. But they're being a
lot more aggressive and it's been theknow also the guys who have struggled to
start the year. You're seeing RyanMcKenna, Yeah, yes, Seholm Ronie.
See Anthony Santander, who was reallystruggling, go three for four yesterday
that Grand Slam. Know. Yousee Jorge Sao hitting for a little bit

of power, hitting the ball harder. So uh, that's really good to
see. And what was I goingto point out to you? There was
something else I wanted to ask about. Oh so, so with Adley,
what is up that he when hehits right handed, he's he's like,
his batting average is way way higheragainst right hand pitchers than left hand pitchers,
right or is it the other wayaround? Yeah, it's kind of

interesting. Roofy his his his blitzhis you know, he's still the best
hitter on this And also I noticed, I don't know if you've noticed,
but you notice how hard he's swingingand how he's going down on one knee
a lot when yes, I have, that's kind of I mean, you
do it a little bit last lastyear, but I feel like this year

it's a lot more drastic. SoI'm gonna have to ask somebody about that,
because that's, you know, abig difference. He's swinging the bat
really hard, but he's dropping toa knee a lot of the time.
I think, what's happening When thathappens, you can check and see if
I'm right or wrong. But Ithink he's looking for a fastball and he's
ending up getting a change up ora curve and it's just like flipping.
His speed is so is so offthat he's just like, you know,
