Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, I'm John Roberts and you're watching my iHeartRadio, Ask
Anything Chat. I want to thank Romeo and Most Requested
Live for having me on to talk about my latest single,
hot Core, featuring Kevin Rudolph.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
And let's get to the questions. Jerry from Albany, New York.
What's a hotcore? Well, what is a hot core?
Speaker 1 (00:21):
It's when something is so hot and it's hardcore hot,
so it's hot core. Linda from Los Angeles, Hey, Lindsa, take.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Us back to when you did your first voice over work.
How did it happen and with whom?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Well, it happened with an audience because I was doing
a bunch of characters with wigs on my head in
the East Village, and I was able to develop kind
of all these different characters and voices that would later
just serve as voices. So that's kind of how I
got started. And I think Bob's Burgers was my first
(00:58):
big voiceover job, and what a good one to guess.
How did you get hooked up with Kevin from your
new song? Well, my manager reached out to them and.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
The rest was history.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
We both hit it off really well, and a great
person to work with.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
What was the most.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Crucial year for you? Oh, probably twenty eleven. Getting cast
on bobs Burgers was a financial life changer and also
artistically brought me to the next level to work with
all these great writers and other comics.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
That I adore. And yeah, so probably that year twenty eleven.
Can you believe?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Kendall from Charlotte, North Carolina. Can you believe the show
has been on for fifteen years? No?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I cannot.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
It's crazy to me that people were kids when they
started watching it.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Now they're in college or past college and stuff. It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
How much time do you get off from the TV show?
Do you work on music when you're not working on
the show?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Thank you? Ken from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I get it quite a bit of time off because
voiceover work is we work like two days a week,
so it's a great job to have to work on
other projects like music. And usually I'm working on music,
or I'm doing some work outside of showbiz, like a philanthropy.
I'm working with AIDS United, great organization, and I'm just
(02:26):
cuddling my delugs.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Jannet from Tampa, Florida. Where are you from? Do you
ever get home? Home? Home? Is just a play.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I don't know the lyrics to that. That's from the Whiz.
Let's see I do get home. Yes, I'm from Jersey,
so I get to Jersey A lash my easy pass.
Shannon from leh Acus, Florida. Have you ever recorded a
Christmas song? Well, you know, I tried writing one like
(02:57):
two years ago and it wasn't that good. So I'm
going to keep writing, and I think there's one in
me though.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
I think one of these days I'll do a Christmas song. Yes,
Casey from NYC.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
What accessories would a John Roberts Action figure come with?
What accessories would a Linda Belcher Action figure come with? Well,
there actually is a Linda Belcher Action figure, and I
think it comes with some wine. And the John Roberts
Action figure would come with good friends and a lot
of zugs, like three zugs. Anthony from West Union, Ohio.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Will you ever tour? I would love to tour.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I'd love to tour with some other awesome bands, or
I would tour by myself if people.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Wanted to come and see me. Faith from Jacksonville, Florida.
A favorite memory from high school? I have some good
ones from high school.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Mostly I was in the talent show my freshman year
because I was very nerdy and had really no friends.
But when I got on stage, then I really came
to life. So I was really into Peee Herman because
my mother would go to the city and see him
perform at Carolines and this was before he was real famous,
and so I was kind of obsessed. And I did
(04:15):
an impersonation of Pee Wee in high school my freshman
year and it really.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Kind of.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Changed my outlook and you know, made things much more
possible for me.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
And so that was That's a good one. And also
being class clown, being named the class clown, I really
worked for that.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Alec from Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Is your voicemail your normal
voice or do you change the voice you use?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
It depends on the week, you know.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
And who's calling. Eric from Columbus, Georgia. Do you have
a nice set of wheels? That's for me to know
and for you never to find oush No, I do
I have some good wheels. I got hot wheels and
I got some match bucks.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Jessica from Mabel, Colorado. What's your favorite season?
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Is your answer based on the weather or the type
of clothes you can wear.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Oh, I see well. I do love spring.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
I love spring time because everything's coming back to life
and all the green and the flowers and the cherry blossoms,
and my dogs love it.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah. Spring. I like Fall two though, because I was
born in the phone.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Nancy from Toronto, Ontario, where's the furthest away? You've been
from home and got recognized on the streets. Let's see, well,
I got declined. My credit card got declined in Australia
when I was trying to buy a somosa.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
And this was right.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Before Bob's Burgers took off, so that was really humiliating.
Tracy from Tampa, Florida. If you had a talk show,
would be your first guest Jimmy Fallon?
Speaker 2 (06:03):
No, he would be good. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I don't know who share share? Donna from Chicago, Illinois.
Can you tell us how a cartoon gets voiced over?
Do you do your part separately or do you do
them with a cast? Also, how is your voice in
Linda's lips synced? Well, we actually record together as a cast,
(06:25):
which is really fun, and we laugh a lot and
then they animate afterwards, so they sink my voice to Linda's.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Lips, which is pretty easy for me to be honest.
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Donna and Barbie from Atlanta, Georgia. What are your favorite old,
worn out clothes that you like wearing around the house.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Definitely my old Levi's jeans.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
That I got on toa with Margaret Cho like in
two thousand and nine.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Or something in Colorado.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Yeah, but you're from Georgia.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
And what's the best award you've ever won?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Well, awards are nice, I think probably I got my
soccer trophies and elementary school were pretty exciting, and you know,
to be one. Bobs Burgers won Emmy's. That was really
exciting and I got to take my mom.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
That was awesome. Okay. Jen from Buffalo, New York.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
What is the last thing you do before you go
on and record a song or a show?
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I do say a little prayer. I say gratitude prayer,
and I.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Try to just remember that how much I love what
I'm doing, how lucky I am to do it.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
So gratitude prayer.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Yep. Looking back, what fashion trend do you think you
should have skipped? I think they all looked good on me.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
No, just kidding.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
