(00:00):
The show is painful and cool atthe same time. My name is Christopher
and my daughter's name is Jessmine.I've never heard our names said together so
much ever. And Christopher, Ithink I met your daughter on Instagram.
We had a Jessmin connection, Sothat would be pretty cool if we actually
get to meet up for coffee. And no, this is not fucking Jim,
so appreciate you guys sticking with usfor a little something different. We
(00:25):
are talking a lot of Seahawks todayand I do appreciate those in the Edmunds
area because that is my neighborhood.Thank you Chris Kid for telling me to
say it that way. Meadowdale Beach, I love that area. I hike
down there and guess my way upevery time I'm climbing back up from the
(00:45):
beach, so really appreciate that. And our conversation has largely centered around what
the Seahawks are going to do inthe draft. It is going to be
quite interesting. They don't have asmuch much capital as we would like for,
you know, something to happen priorto the draft, so all eyes
(01:07):
are heading on to the end ofApril when we will find out exactly what's
going to happen and to tell usmore and to actually bring a professional stand
to this. Is our good friend, Danny O'Neill. Danny, thank you
so much for joining us. Howare you. I'm doing well. I
appreciate you having me on, Jess, but I worry if I'm the person
(01:29):
who's being relied upon to bring somelevel of expertise, we might all get
in trouble. It's a comparative spectrum. So so you're winning on this,
like we're kind of like just inthe Orange out of the Red with you
on. So we're gonna go withthat. Sounds good, Okay, good,
(01:49):
okay, So before we actually getinto the professionalism, since we're still
in the red here with Chris Kidand myself, we are filling in for
Jim Moore and Jason and you knowJim as well as I do. And
so it was bestowed upon me thisquestion, what is the best Jim Moore
story you have? Because I haveseveral, and you can choose one that
(02:14):
I'm involved in or one that I'mnot, but I'm okay with one if
you choose one that I'm involved in. This single best Jim Moore story is
that at some point and I believeit was in the late seventies or early
eighties. It's not there, okay. Jim, Jim was given an opportunity
(02:36):
to invest in a gold machine goldand the individual had promised him that there
was a piece of technology that hadbeen discovered that was capable of processing previously
unprocessable or and extracting from this orgold where previously they would have been.
(03:00):
And it's there's too much rock there, we're not able. There's not enough,
not a high enough concentration to gold. They had some new technology and
Jim was given the opportunity to investin this for ten thousand dollars. Now,
Jim, being the studious and veryvery he's someone who's very responsible,
(03:20):
wanted a demonstration and the individual withthe gold machine, in fact, brought
the gold machine to show them hispiece of technology, and Jim said that
it looked like a bong and therewas aluminum foil covering wrapped around to hide
the proprietary technology that was used. And Jim gave it ten dollar dollars like
(03:51):
in cash. It was, youknow that time before there was paper trail.
Turned out, it turned out thatthe man with the gold machine may
have had multiple families, and forhim the gold machine work, Oh it
(04:15):
did. It worked for him becausehe was funding multiple families. That's Jim
was his source of gold. Thepreviously unprocessable war with Wallet. It was
you all the time. Okay, okay, I know we have tons of
Jim morseries, but that that oneremains one of my favorites. Thank you
(04:39):
very much for that. Jessamond McIntyre, Chris Cannon. Here, we have
Danny O'Neill on. We are infor fucking Jim Danny. We've got a
lot of nodding hands here when itcomes to what the Seahawks are going to
do, because it was always Peteand John. We always kind of had
an idea of what they would doand maybe they'd surprise us, but they
wouldn't. But they would, butnot surprising us. They have the number
(05:01):
sixteen pick this year. They don'thave Drew Locke anymore. They have Geno
Smith, and they have their receivers. They have barely any linebackers, barely
any offensive lineman. What in firstblush do you think they're gonna do in
the draft if they don't make anymoves prior. Yeah, they're gonna need
(05:25):
to find a middle linebacker and somebodycan take Bobby Wagner's spot. I'm not
surprised that Jordan Brooks left as afree agent. I am surprised about how
relatively little money he commanded. Yeah, he got a three year, thirty
million dollar contract in Miami. Andwhat that told me was that Seattle really
(05:46):
didn't see him as as someone whois going to be able to fill that
Mike linebacker spot that Bobby had.And look, Seattle had a year to
evaluate him at playing that spot, the year where Bobby took his sabbatical to
the Rams, and clearly, whetherit was John Schneider's conclusion or Mike McDonald's
(06:08):
assessment, they don't see him beingable to fill essentially the slot that Rokelon
Smith fills in Baltimore. And that'sthat's I mean. Roklan Smith's a hell
of a player. He's a formertop ten pick. He is an absolute
monster in the middle. That's clearly, in my mind, the biggest sort
(06:29):
of vacancy that Seattle has to dealwith now, because it's not a surprise
that Bobby's not back. Like Isaid, I'm not shocked at Jordan's Brooks
isn't back. I'm surprised that hedidn't command more money on the market,
but they're gonna have to figure outwho's gonna play middle linebacker for all right,
Danny, we had just had aconversation about Justin Fields potentially being traded
(06:53):
to the Seahawks, and then Irecently saw your tweets regarding some interest in
Justin Fields. You say, I'mprobably not training it there around her,
but I'm definitely thinking about it.In regards to Justin Fields, what do
you like about his game that couldfit well with the weapons of Seahawks?
Have DK Metcalf, JSN ken Walker, what do you like there? Well?
Well, certainly Fields Fields is apretty elite runner. Some of that
(07:18):
has been for survival, and heholds onto the ball a time. But
I think if you look at bothhis speed and his arm, he's got
a lot of tools. Now,he's been a starting quarterback in the league
for three years now, or partsof three years, and in that time
there's only been half a season, the second half of last season, where
he didn't commit a crippling number ofturnovers. Up until that point, he
(07:42):
just he'd made too many mistakes. He was given the ball away too much
to be considered. Hey, thatguy could be your starting quarterback in the
NFL. I think he's playing. He's played in an incredibly difficult situation.
There have been coaching changes, therehave been there's really not been much continuity
that's happened there. And I thinkyou finally saw him start to turn the
(08:05):
corner a little bit. If someonesays, hey, I've seen enough of
him and I'm not at all interestedin him as a future quarterback, I
can understand that he's always taken aton of sacks for me. I think
you've got to prepare for the possibilitythat Gino Smith isn't going to be the
guy that's capable of taking you fartherinto the playoffs. You can clearly make
(08:28):
the playoffs with Gino Smith as yourstarter. He's even been to a Pro
Bowl. But if this is thehigh water mark for him, what are
you going to do going forward? And I would see trading for Justin Fields
as sort of taking a shot. That's one guy that you could probably have
if you acquired him. You couldhave him back up Gino for a year
and then make an assessment of hashe learned the offense? Do you think
(08:50):
he's got a shot to be theguy going forward? If you are really
going to look for a different quarterback. It's kind of a I think that
Seattle, when they ended up findingRussell Wilson, took the right approach where
they took multiple bites at the apple. They didn't put all their eggs into
one basket and say this is goingto be the quarterback of the future.
They traded for Charlie Whitehurst didn't work. They signed Tavars Jackson, didn't work.
(09:13):
They signed Matt Flynn, who neverreally got a chance because Russell Wilson
really worked. They took a bunchof moderate risks, moderate bets, and
out of those four quarterbacks found theguy that could be the starter. And
I think that in some ways you'rein a little bit of a similar situation.
Maybe Gino can do it, butI don't know. That might be
(09:35):
the high water mark, and you'vegot to start one way or the other.
You have to come out of thisoffseason with a young quarterback that you
could develop for the future. Ithink if you were to trade a fourth
or a fifth round pick for JustinFields, that's a decent that's a decent
A moderate risk, that's not toobig, and I think there's some upside
there if you don't do that.I do think you need to draft a
quarterback. Jessamin McIntyre and Christopher Kiddfilling in for Puck and Jim. We
(10:00):
have Danny O'Neil on here and Danny. We're gonna find out more about what
you're doing a little bit later. But you just talked about justin Field's being
a moderate risk and having to draftone if they don't go that route.
How high or where do you thinkwould be the sweet spot for them to
draft a quarterback if they went thatroute. Everybody's going to wonder about Penix,
(10:22):
right yep, And I don't.I don't think Pennix is going to
be there in the third round.I think, oh I don't. In
fact, I think it's going tobe late first or early second. If
Seattle trades back. Maybe there's ashot. It wouldn't surprise me if Seattle
drafted Pennix. But at the sametime, that's not what I'm expecting them
(10:43):
to do. It's gonna be aweird draft. You're gonna have that The
first three picks it looks like aregoing to be quarterbacks. You're going to
have the Caleb Williams goes first, and then Drake May and Jaden Daniels in
some order come next. The nextthree guy, JJ McCarthy, and then
Bo Nix, Michael Pennix, andI think people are debating what order those
(11:07):
guys are going to come off theboard in. But I think that all
those guys will be in nets secondhalf of the first round, maybe maybe
even a little bit earlier in theteams is when they'll start. But you're
not going to have I heard peoplesay that they don't think there are eleven
draftable quarterbacks, that that there's reallyif ten guys end up getting picked,
which would mean it's the very topheavy class. So maybe this is a
(11:31):
situation where Seattle's is going to haveto use their first pick on a quarterback.
But I honestly, just knowing theway John is, don't I don't
think they're going to do that.I think you'll see in the third or
the fourth round that that might bethe direction they go if they are going
to draft a quarterback. Yeah,Danny, I was going to say the
same exact thing, just knowing howJohn is. But now you introduced a
(11:54):
new era, right, because wealways thought, oh, it's Pete and
John. It's Pete and John,But who is pulling? What had the
bigger say and everything? It alwaysseemed like they were a team, so
you didn't know who really had thissay. And obviously now with a new
thirty six year old head coach whois a defensive minded guy, you would
think that John is the one whois has the say, especially when it
(12:18):
comes to drafting an offensive player, because you have Mike McDonald being the defensive
guy who even know blatantly said thathe's going to call the defensive plays here
this year. So I'm wondering.I don't know. It's so hard to
(12:39):
determine, so I'm putting it onyou. So I'm going to give you
an impossible question to answer. Howhigh or do you think that they will
trade back from that sixteen pick tofill out some of the greater spots or
do what they did last year andactually pick well, obviously they had two
(13:00):
picks last year in the first round, but do you think that they'll use
that sixteenth pick. I think they'llmove back that that that has tended to
be the trend when when they havea pick in the teams, they've usually
slid back at least a little bit. Last year was an exception, so
was the year when they drafted EarlThomas. And both of those were situations
(13:22):
where they saw the opportunity to geta guy that they they they viewed that
that the value of that player,Earl Thomas, there was going to be
a drop off after Earl, andif Earle was there, they were picking
him. And with with Jackson Smithand Jig Bye was the first he was
he was the first wide receiver chosen. But I do think that they'll trade
back. I still don't think thatthey're going to go quarterback with that first
(13:46):
pick. I just and I thinkthat they they like Gino and that they
believe that Gino has a shot tobe the long term starter here. And
I think that they're going to belooking for more of a demental player or
someone that could come in and eventuallycompete, as opposed to someone that's If
(14:07):
you're using a first round pick ona quarterback at this point, generally that
rookie is going to start at somepoint in the first year, and I
don't think the Seahawks feel that kindof pressure. I would agree with that,
and I think that the whole RussellWilson phenomenon is an unfair comparison to
make, where that's an expectation foranyone to live up to. And so
(14:31):
yeah, I'm just wondering just becauseGino is he going how long can he
bridge? Because I viewed him asa bridge quarterback and he exceeded my own
expectations. I thought that he wasgoing to bridge it until they got their
next guy, and then he wasactually pretty good, And so how long
(14:52):
can he do that before someone elseis taking over? Well? I think
that that it depends on how thisseason goes, because he's had two seasons
now in which the first year hewas great early on and then tailed off
a little bit. And last yearI thought he finished stronger than he started.
(15:13):
And I think they are really optimisticabout, Hey, what is this
going to look like? And wegive Gino a new pensive coordinator and Ryan
Grubb, while it's been in college, has shown the ability to get the
most out of the two quarterbacks he'sprimarily worked with. First j Kner in
at Fresno State, who became afourth round pick and now Panics and see
(15:35):
what that happens. I don't thinkthat there's a ceiling or a limit on
how long you stick with with Gino. There's just a question of if you
do get to a point where youdecide that that's not there, you have
to start having some alternatives prepared.Because you mentioned the Pete and John balance,
the most surprising thing to me overthe last fourteen years Seahawks have drafted
(16:00):
two quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and AlexMaboo. The fact that they have not
spent more draft picks even when theyhad Russell as an established starter. It
flies in the face of everything JohnSchneider learned under Ron wolf and Ted Thompson
in Green Bay that those Wolfe wasfamous for drafting a quarterback every single year.
(16:22):
I think that that reluctance to draftquarterbacks was reflective of Pete as opposed
to John. We'll see it wasup to John when they when they replaced
Matt Hassepak. He's the one thatoversaw the trade for Whitehurst, signing t
Jack, acquiring Flynn, and thendrafting Russ. He was the dominant voice
in guiding Seattle to those picks, and I think he was really high on
(16:45):
drafting Andy Dalton in twenty eleven withthe picks they used to take James Carpenter
and decided he wasn't going to forcethat quarterback, that there wasn't enough buy
in from everybody else in the franchisethat he didn't want to force it.
I think he's going to start doingsomething similar here, which is getting players
to compete and taking moderate bets toget some guys in here that he thinks
(17:10):
could blossom into starters and then seeingwho emerges from that, as opposed to
the you find your quarterback by puttingeverything you have on that guy and then
hoping, like hell, he becomesthe player that you want him to be.
I just I think everything that I'veseen from John says that he's going
to be about giving the team multipleoptions and then determining, letting it sort
(17:32):
out on the field, who's thebest choice. Danny O'Neal joining us,
Jessamond McIntyre, christ Kid filling infor Puck and Jim. Thank you so
much, Danny, and your insightis just amazing, especially because I don't
know, I guess I'm not inother markets, but I feel like this
team, especially at this point witha new head coach and the same GM
is very hard to figure out because, like you just said, they're gonna
(17:56):
figure it out on the field.I just don't see them having that kind
of levity at this point because they'rea perennial almost going to be or probably
going to be playoff team, Sothey should be in next year because they
have the same quarterback. They've losta lot of things, but they do
have their bones right, they've gottheir tackles, they've got you know,
(18:22):
they resigned Leonard Williams. Hopefully MikeMorris, now that he's healthy, will
be the guy that they drafted lastyear. I'm wondering just how much I
don't know. Levity is not theright word. I'm trying to I'm looking
for a word, just like howmuch patience they can have to push to
get to where they want to be, because this doesn't seem like a scrap
(18:44):
heap. No, it's certainly thedecisions that they've made. It's not a
rebuilding situation. You don't restructure TylerLockett's contract the way they did if you
feel that you're not going to beback in the playoffs or competing for the
playoffs or looking to improve on lastyear's record. At the same time,
on the defense, they have madehuge changes up the middle of it.
(19:06):
Both your starting interior linebackers are goingto are now gone in free agency,
you cut both your safeties. Theythey're hoping or believing that Rayshon Jenkins is
going to be a better player overthe next couple of years as opposed to
Kwandre Diggs. Even if I thoughtKandre played pretty well last season, but
you've seen there's clearly an overhaul upthe middle of this defense. They are
(19:30):
going to have to answer at middlelinebacker. But Seattle's expectation is they they
want their offense to be as goodas it was supposed to be last year.
They want to have that consistency andthen you're going to rely on Mike
McDonald to be able to start reallyrebuilding this defense where you feel like you've
got some pretty talented players on theedge. They've got good corners, they've
(19:52):
got a lot of different edge rushertypes in Boye, Mafe, Chenna Nuosu
coming back from injury. You've alsobringing back Darryl Taylor, You've got Derek
Hall, and then Leonard Williams wascertainly the big buye that they made to
hold on to him in the middleof the defense. And then you're gonna
have to find some guys that fitMike McDonald's scheme because he is going to
(20:15):
blitz more and they are going tobring more pressure. And you hope that
his scheme is able to improve whathas been I mean for six or seven
years, Seattle was just never ableto rebuild that defense under Pete Carroll.
Well, you know what, thisis a wait and see you. I
guess we all want to know what'sgonna happen. But we don't have those
cryptic Pete Carroll songs anymore that tellus nothing. But it was fun,
(20:40):
wasn't it. Yeah, it's enjoyable. I always enjoyed hearing people come up
with their various their various theories forit. It was like listening to people
analyzer critique modern literature. Oh yeah, or tweets that seems to be the
thing that seems that's modern literature. Now, Danny, it's on it's on
Twitter. I'm not calling it anyway. Okay, I know I asked you
(21:03):
in the beginnings, Danny O'Neill joiningus, Jesseman McIntyre chriskid, But uh,
I know I asked you in thebeginning of your best Jim Moore story,
what's your worst my worst Jim Moorestory. I don't know if I
have a worst Jim Moore Sore treasure. He's an absolute national treasure. I
did. I did really enjoy inretrospect. At the time, it was
(21:27):
slightly uncomfortable when he informed Jerry Depoto, Oh that his his twins, so
I believe at the time at thetime, I think we're fourteen. Yeah,
at the time, and he informedthem it was a year when the
Mariners were having some exceptional defensive challenges. Informed to Jerry Depoto that he thought
(21:52):
his son's baseball team had played cleanergames recently than the Seattle Mariners, and
Jerry it was like, it wasa fine, No, it was a
four point seven second pause because Imeasured it. And then he said,
we've had some challenges. Have youever had your like butt sweat when you're
(22:18):
not working out, because that's whathappened to me when that happened. Uh.
Yeah, anyway, so if anyonereally wants to clean their ears,
we gave it to you. Thatwas one of the most terrifying producing moments
of my life. But uh,talking to you again, Danny, never
terrifying, always lovely. I reallyreally appreciate you joining us today. Got
(22:38):
a problem, It's great to beone. Thanks very much both to you,
and we'll talk to you soon. All right, all right, we
got to give you guys a breakfrom us, right Christopher, it's about
that time to give them a breakfrom us. Don't forget to keep listening
because you could qualify to win apair of a Laska Airline tickets to anywhere
(23:02):
you want. And all you haveto do is listen for the sounder.
We'll be playing at every single houruntil six pm, and we will announce
our winner of that at six fifteen, So stay tuned. We'll be right
back ninety three point three kit RFM. I just feel relaxed, and that's
kind of how I have to feelfilling these very very big shoes. No
(23:25):
idea what size those guys where, but it feels big to be in here.
So thank you guys for joining along. And I believe if this is
usually when we listen to some talkbacks, the voicemails that you guys leave by
pushing that little microphone button on youriHeart app. Is that correct? That
is correct? How do you havevoicemails. Okay, all right, Well,
(23:45):
let's hear what you guys had tosay about. We've been talking about
a lot of things, mostly theSeahawks as we approach the draft. Free
agency is in full effect and they'veonly signed their own. We're wondering what's
going to go on a quarterback. We're wondering now that your lock is obviously
gone elsewhere. So let's just saywhat you guys think. Where the hell
(24:07):
is puffing Jim at I can't listento you guys this morning doing whatever it
is that you think you're doing. They are in better places than we are
right now. They're definitely saying moresunshine and water than we are. I'm
so sorry, but thank you forlistening anyway, and I hope you still
(24:29):
are. Just so you could hearyour own voice on the radio. Uh,
Christopher, what would you think?Uh? You know? Where where
are they? If you could justlike imagine why Jim is in Vegas?
I believe Puck Mexico. This iswhere you need to check your emails,
kid, Yeah, I could justpull up yeah no, no, no,
(24:52):
I love it because I think they'resecretive. They're just like I'm off,
No, Jim and Jim. Sowhat Jim does is, Hey,
guys, taking Monday off next week? Next Jim, next week. It's
the fourteenth. Oh yeah, Ithought, I thought. I told you
guys I had a Jim, it'sFriday or Thursday. Oh well, yeah,
I'll be going next Monday, Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday. I'll be
back Thursday though. Oh okay, thanks, Jim, send us a two
(25:18):
day notice. Yeah. No,Jim is a very lax on that I
worked with him for nine years andhe was lax and I absorbed all of
the opposite of that while working withhim. However, I love him because
he is my brother. And alsoI believe that he is legally gambling,
which is amazing for him in Vegas, which is great because you know,
(25:41):
in our state you can unless yougo to a casino. And I don't
think Jim would sacrifice a walk withhis dogs to go to a casino.
And he is probably just missing hisdogs actually, but hanging out in Vegas.
I don't think he would bring hisdogs to that heat. What else
do people have to say? Voicesmail number two, Hey, guys,
(26:03):
Chris Kidd's ego hit. It's beena while, but I'm bad. Hey,
guess what I can do? Heartsurgery. I guarantee it the three
months. I can do heart surgery, just like I could play in the
NBA. My jav basketball ball coachsaid, So, so you know,
guys, that's just me. I'mChris Kidds and I'm the ego of the
egos. Anyways, I'm gonna gogive back a shawn a hug. Now,
(26:27):
Chris kids ego out NBA is noteven on the list of things I
think I can do. Wait, what else is besides heart surgery? Because
he really thought you could do thatby reading Were you though it's a it's
a funny joke from Andrew Schultz, who's a comedian. He told it,
(26:48):
Yes, there is this. Heis very he's a jokester. He's a
comedian, so there is. You'dhope he's a jokester. He gets paid
to tell jokes. So there was. They were talking about something serious and
he was very stern there. Someonesaid something about being a doctor or whatever.
And Andrew was like, wait asecond, you give me four months.
(27:08):
I could easily do heart surgery withouta question. You're kidding me easy?
And his quote Charlotte Maine was Areyou serious? He's like one hundred
percent serious. I could land theplane today. That whole stuff about,
like, I just feel like theyneed to stop making movies about people who
land flights by talking to air control, Like, no, I don't think
(27:30):
people are gonna get false confidence inthat. Yeah exactly, I can land
the plane. Yeah, no,I can do it. Are you a
doctor? I got a pen?You know. But people are just gonna
like stop making heroes out of randompeople on planes because people are gonna be
bad ideas. No, I'm athought agree with you on that, but
that was just my joke of theday. Okay, Okay, yeah,
(27:52):
I know that you couldn't nobody wouldever trust you. I ain't. But
ain't a fight or flight situation.I feel like you would fight. I
don't think you would flight. Istill think, at thirty one years old,
I did this in high school.I still think I could probably long
jump twenty feet. That's one thingI think I can still do right now.
If someone said that sounds like aflight, not a fight long jumping,
(28:15):
I don't. That sounds like you'reout of there. I do twenty
feet. That's you just did youset a record? No, absolutely not
really what so I had in highschool, I jumped twenty one feet in
four inches. I think I couldprobably get I think I think I might
be able to do twenty Now,I reckon I need to go down to
(28:36):
Elliott Bay and test this out.I still need to walk into that bay.
Will we go to Elliott baby, because there's grass down there. We
can just go to a track field. It's pretty we can just go to
it. Well, I still needto walk into Elliott Bay for losing our
fantasy football leagues. You can godo that. But that I feel like
that was a two win one tothe question of the ego. That is
probably one thing that I think thatI could possibly do. Now. If
I didn't jump twenty feet, Iwouldn't be like, oh dang, I
(28:57):
suck. I would probably like, yeah, you think you could get twenty
So I think I probably I probablycould. There's a seventy to thirty seventy
percent says yes. Thirty percent islike, nah, bro, you ain't
got them. You do it inthe same pit, right, Yes,
yeah, okay, so we wouldn'tneed they're standing down an La Bay.
Just we can just go to alocal high school. I just like water,
get him measuring all right, don'twe have one more person that wants
(29:19):
away in we have one more okay, well, good morney, Yes,
money kid here over at the youdon yeap, just working a little bit
with my son and trying to helphim out. But yeah, so the
whole fascination with the first round droppicks. Yeah, thank you for me
yep, sit dow health these guests, I would h you know, learn
about your family, learn about themand be like, oh man, he
guys to meshed so well with thegroup of guys that we got over there,
(29:41):
Mac. But yeah, so that'swhere John gets. It gets from
me because that just gets so excited. And I don't blame him, man,
because you know what, he waiteda couple of years and you get
him at a huge discount. Gohus. Shout out to Pete Man still
dropping the voicemails, even though he'sno longer with the organization, maybe in
an advisory role we don't have.We haven't seen Pete in any Compress conferences.
(30:03):
He is a ghost of the pastright now. But shout out to
Pete the voicemailer. We appreciate allthose those are great. He's one of
my favorites. So there you haveit. Absolutely, And also they just
begs the question where is Pete.He was quote unquote brought in on an
advisory role. Is he there?I don't think he is, but I
don't know. I think he's actuallyfired. I think they just want to
(30:26):
be Yes, he can keep youaround if you want to be around.
It appears he doesn't want to bearound. And I don't think that would
be fair to Mike McDonald to havePete around either. No, it wouldn't,
but I mean, Coach Home Grinhas talked about that exact situation that
he kind of felt he was inat the time, and you know,
he talked to us about it.He's talked on air plenty of times about
(30:48):
it. So yeah, all right, we get it. And I don't
think Pete's an upstanding, respectful guy. And I just think that he probably
read the tea leaves got it,doesn't want to be overbearing. The organization
was ready to move on, butwas respectful to him. At the same
(31:10):
time. They didn't go you're fired, but we all knew that he was
fired anyway. I just think thatwas a respectful party on both both behalves.
Anyway, that voicemail amazing. I'mso jealous of you guys because you
have all these impersonations and sometimes theytrickle into our show where I'm like,
ah, man, that was meantfor fucking Jim. Anyway, Jessamin McIntyre's
(31:33):
were king filling in for pucking Jimtoday. Please stick with us. I
promise. What does Puck always sayat the end of his show. I
promise We'll be better. I promisewe'll keep trying. That'll be my moniker.
We'll talk to you in just aminute. Don't forget. You still
have time to qualify for two AleskaAirlines vouchers. Just listen for the sounder
(31:55):
every hour. We'll be right backninety three point three KJRFM. I love
it. We are back at jJustamin McIntyre and Christopher Kidd filling in for
Puck and Jim today, who areseeing brighter skies and blue waters somewhere that
we would love to be. Butwe are now at that time. As
I do believe, we have atweet of the day, which, as
(32:21):
I have very infrequently filled in onthis show, found one of my favorite
segments. So I'm looking forward toit and I have absolutely no idea what
it is because this is producer's choice. Chris Kidd take it away, all
right, So the two to theday. It's a few years old,
but it's still hilarious. I don'tcare. And you know what, some
(32:42):
listeners might not have heard this orsaw this live. But we are a
month, I believe, a monthaway from the US National Gardening Day.
I'm not a gardener, but justa little contact Cisco style. Yeah,
King five, Yeah, great, great pool, Thank you. This was
one of the favorites. I don'tknow why, man. I caught myself
(33:02):
sometimes watching his show, which iscrazy because I don't know anything about gardening.
So but you listen to him, right, do you still have the
show? No? I don't thinkso. Okay, well, yeah,
that's what he well deserved for Tyrant. So National Gardening Day, I believe
that's in April. It's coming up, so we're a month away. But
this came down my timeline again andI saw it and was like, this
(33:25):
is hilarious. So a Fox twentynine host, her name is Alex Haley.
She shared the conversation that she hadwith a co worker Mike Jerrick,
and they were talking about National GardeningDay, and Mike had some rather interesting
comments that he made about it,which I thought were hilarious. Oirow is
(33:45):
World Naked Gardening Day? I needto know. Is there a naked gardening
club in Philly Mike would like tojoin. I'd like to see the hoes
and the rakes and trawls, allthe equipment. Come on, you know
you don't trowse. My heart stoppedfor a second. No listening to anything
(34:14):
gardening tools exactly. Yeah, soyeah, there's no come to find out
there is a world nationally nationally USNational Gardening Day, and then they took
it the step further Naked Gardening Day. We don't think Cisco was in on
that. Who knows. I don'tknow. He's a free spirit man.
I don't know him very well, but that guy is cool as heck.
(34:36):
And I didn't know that it wasnaked. But yeah, apparently, Okay,
thank you Wikipedia. Saturday May forthis world naked, one naked,
one world and it's worldwide, worldwide. They're probably going nuts in you know,
Amsterdam, but around here, WorldGardening Day is April fourteenth, where
(34:57):
people can be uh delay rightfully plantingtheir bulbs and you know, using their
trowels for good and creating new flowersto give us all the allergies that we
have been suffering already. Do youknow that this is the worst tree pollen
season literally in history in the stateof Washington. Because I thought I was
(35:20):
perpetually sick. I thought I hadlong COVID or something. I didn't know
what was going on. I wasalways running nose, always running, no
tree pollen, tree pollen, andapparently never had allergies before I moved to
the state of Washington. Apparently Ihave them. So four nine, four
or five one if you hear meon those underlying allergies that apparently you have
(35:44):
now. Anyway, we do havesome good texts here, then this one.
I'll throw myself on the sword hereI did say from the two six,
I said, I feel relaxed. But then I talked about having butt
sweat, and that is cool. That is a really good pull, especially
because I remember exactly what happened. We were talking to Danny O'Neil just a
(36:06):
little while ago, about a halfhour ago, and he was talking about
one of his favorite memorable stories aboutworking with Jim Moore and when he severely
insulted the GM at the time. Now he's the president. Jerry Depoto on
an interview that we had with himsaying that his fourteen year old's team in
a loss played better defense than hesaw on the Mariners. The four plus
(36:31):
second pause that I heard definitely gaveme the butt sweats. It was not
on this station. The question doyou still have Nobody knows. It's in
the ether. I think you haveit. I kind of want to play
that. Yeah, we don't playthose things there in the past anyway.
(36:52):
You know what I have all theaudio, Okay, I just don't play
it. It's for me. Howmuch what would it take for you to,
sir said audio? How about yougot I was talking money? Maybe
nothing. Then you don't have it. It's got a cost to get this.
And I would love to play thatover the year. Uh have reaction
(37:13):
just Jim's question in the four secondNo, what you would really want is
what didn't air is me tearing intohim in the studio right after that happened.
No, I don't want that.I want that awkward moment when Jim
asked a question and that four secondsof just I think I might have the
silence saved. But all you'd hearis silence. But I saved it so
fun, just for no, forreal, I saved it just so I
(37:35):
knew how long it was anyway, all onto other things. When when have
you had butt sweat? Christopher?Wow, I don't know, I feel
like I remember every time. Idon't know that's a but you know you've
had it, of course, yeah, probably, Yeah, that's a.
(38:00):
I don't know the last time Ihad the butt sweats. I know Bucky
gets the meat sweats, which isthat's just like that's predictable. At least
he knows he's gonna get him becausehe's putting the food into his face before
he gets them. All right, you think about that. We've got a
couple of texts I remember from thetwo six listening to that interview with Jim
(38:21):
and Jerry Radio Gold. Maybe foryou, sir, maybe for you Jim
absolute legend that he is, thathe is a bunch of text about Christopher
Kid Kid invented the Internet and Kenspelled potato. Keith We love Keith Kid
(38:42):
would smash any seahawk in one onone. Who's no, No, you're
talking about Mike. Me and Mikedo not have the same No. Mike
is very confident and he can docertain things. I realize. No,
no, no, but you've played, right, played basketball? Yeah with
them? No, no, Ihaven't played Oh you haven't. Okay,
I know, I know, Mike. I've played with other I've played with
(39:04):
some really talented Division one basketball playersPeyton Sivas and couldn't hold the jockstrap.
Okay, I understand. But NFLplayers and professional or collegiate basketball players are
different levels. Yeah, it doesn'teven matter what division. I remember,
I played college volleyball right and Iwent I was like, oh, in
the off season, I'm going toplay like JV. I'll play JV basketball's
(39:30):
I played basketball in high school andI was good. And then I went
to that. I was like, all right, let's go, and the
biggest thing you elbow drives later,I'm done. The biggest thing was DK
for example, he's athletic. Myman can't dribble. Boy handling is a
very big skill. So in agame of basketball, Wow, yes,
(39:50):
DK, that was well. DKcan back me down and dunk all over
me. If he had a dribbleto basketball, it would be a very
tough task for him. It wouldbe a strategic game for you. Yes,
yes, all right. I wouldn'tsit up there and sack and beat
him. Now, could I scoreon him? I might be to get
one point. I'm not afraid tosay that. Scoring once on DK,
(40:13):
I think it's a puss. You'replaying half court. If you play full
court, you could beat him.I'm not No, that's he would just
run around. You're kidding me.DK is faster, stronger, I'm not.
I don't have this shape. Ifyou got shiftiness, shiftiness only lasts
for a few seconds. It allday, all night long, without getting
tired. Three dribbles, buddy, and score a bucket. For those of
(40:36):
you wondering where Puck and Jim are, it's Jessum and McIntyre Christopher Kid filling
in for them. They are earninga well deserved vacation right now and we
will be right back. We arewondering what the heck the Seahawks are going
to do in the draft, ifthey're going to make any moves prior to
it. And omar Rui's the NFLnetwork. He's going to join us next
on ninety three three KJRFM
