The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Six h six, Good Morning, It is The Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court. It is April fifteenth, twenty twenty five,
which also means.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
It is tax day.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I have a friend who yesterday she waited till the
last minute to do her taxes. And she says, I
do turbo tax It's super easy. I boo boop boop.
I don't owe anything, I don't pay anything. Life is great.
So last night I checked in because she said, I'm
I'm gonna go over to her friend's house, borrow her
internet whatever. She just moves so she's never there. She
(00:41):
goes to a friend's house. I said, how did it go?
Did you get your taxes done? She said, well, I
just got home. I'm pouring a glass of wine. I'm
super stressed out. I owe money. And it was like
everything that she thought would go right, and that's why
she could wait till the last minute.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
It didn't go didn't pan out, not not perfectly.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
And I think there are so many of and I
say us out there because it was just two days ago.
I was not panicked, but my tax person was like, hey,
I need one more thing from you. I'm like, yeah,
it's the thirteenth, what we gotta get this done? So
did you get yours done?
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I got mine done a couple of weeks ago. But
I remember my dad growing up waiting until the last minute,
sitting at the kitchen table. Papers are everywhere totally, and
he would like, for hours and hours he'd be working
on this in such a bad move, and then I
think you would always file an.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Extension and then he'd be like, cool, I got two
more months or three more months or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah, sack everything on account whatever it is. I think
just because there were so many kids in my family,
he was always getting a return back. But yeah, it's
you know, but this this is pre turbo tax too,
so he had to do the math himself and calculator
was that parents doing?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Oh gosh, I thought taxes when I was a kid,
when I was like a lifeguard for a living. I'm like, hey,
look at me filing taxes now. Yeah, I had no
idea what was in store for me when I grew up.
You know, it's so complicated, such an adult thing.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
It is. So we're at eight seven, seven, nine, nine
eight one.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
You could send us a message any time with our
iHeartRadio app yesterday we had so much fun. It was
Bill in Petaluma who won those tickets to go see
Little River Band at Cash Creek Casino Resort.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
We did that at eight twenty and we're doing it
again today. Yeah, that show's happening May second, So we're
going to send you to the concert, which is going
to be great, but we're also going to give you
an overnight stay that evening, Yeah, so you can just
enjoy yourself and not worry about having to drive home afterwards.
So fun.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I talked to somebody yesterday who was at Cash Creek
over the weekend and she said they had the best time,
so we hope you will as well. So definitely be
here at eight twenty for your chance to win those tickets.
And at six twenty five we've got the Morning Breeze
brain tease.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
The older you are, the less time you spend doing
this every.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Day, The older you are the last time you spend
doing this every day. Okay, eight seven, seven, nine, eight
one oh nine eight one brain Teas coming up six
twenty five, Louise.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and time
now for the Morning Breeze brain Tease. It's sponsored by
Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands with Mike Cancel Plumbing.
Visit them at mcp plumbing dot com. Today's question Carolyn, Yes,
is the older you are, the less time you spend
doing this every day?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Okay, let's see what these guesses are. This should be good.
Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one.
Good morning Michelle and Walnut Creek. You think you have
the answer. What do you think it is?
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Brushing my hair and setting it. Brushing my hair and
setting it. Just don't worry about it anymore.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
No, no, wash it and comb it back into a bun.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Well, putting it in a bun is the best. It
looks cute and its minimal effort. Sure that is a secret,
right there, Right, you got it. I like the answer,
but it's not the one we're looking for.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Thank you for having us on. That's really sweet. We
appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Well, I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
You're the greatest. Think you have a good day. Enjoy
the weather, Michelle, Thank you. Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Curtis in San Francisco, good morning, what's your guess?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Brushing your teeth?
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Brush your teeth. Oh yeah, okay, Curtis, are you cheating
the system a little bit? You go to bed and
you're like, yeah, see, I'm the opposite.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I brush my teeth more now than I ever have
in my life. I do too, I do too. I
used to as a kid.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
So this is the second brushing type answer. Brushing your
hair now, brushing your teeth from Curtis. Neither of those
are correct.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Ah, Curtis, Okay, well, hey, thank you for trying. Have
a great rest of your day. So what is the
answer if those aren't correct?
Speaker 1 (04:52):
All right? As soon as I say this, you're going
to be like, oh I get it. Okay. The older
you are, the less time you spend worrying every day.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yes, it's that whole thing about you care less about
what others think.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, yes, you care less. And I also think just
with age comes wisdom. Yeah, and you learn not to
stress about little things or big things.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
It's funny because I wouldn't realize that that's the case,
but when you say it, I obviously am like, okay,
yes that makes sense. But it's also nice to hear that. Yeah,
it's like reinforcing what I already knew. But I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
I knew.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Sure makes sense, I think so I may need to
do to say it again. Never mind, I can't. We're
at eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight
one Morning Breeze brain Teas. We play every weekday morning
at six twenty five, and we love when you join
us so much fun.

if MAYBE i shouldn't learn coding BECAUSE i don't know

BREEZE i saw in the news yesterday that the price
Of easter, eggs of eggs in general are going up
And easter is six days. Away i'm thinking about all
these families that WHEN i was a, kid at least
you have, daughters although they're, Older but WHEN i was a,
kid it would be about this time that we'd be
going out with mom and dad buy. Eggs, right wasn't
(13:33):
a problem back in the. Eighties but now with the
price is going up again for, Eggs i'm kind of
wondering how people are gonna make it work with their
kids and their grandkids because it's. Expensive like we would
hunt for eggs, right find them and then throw them. Away,
yeah you need a couple and then you throw the rest.
Away you can't do that, NOW.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
I can't throw this. Away you make a good do
you make an egg?
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Salady that's a whole different. Thing it was a different. Time,
yeah there's been a shy. If most of the egg
like hunts that my daughters, did we didn't use actual real.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Eggs for. Those we would color, eggs but we would
never use the actually wouldn't hide. Those we'd hide the plastic.
Ones oh with like candy and. Money oh, wow CAN
i Come easter egg hunting at your? House but we would,
great but we would still boil eggs and decorate. Them
and then we have we do this little egg. Game
you crack an egg and see who can go the
longest without cracking their. Egg it's really.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Fun oh, Okay i'll explain. It you telling You easter
sounds fun at The johnson.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Household, yeah to your, point here In, california six dollars
and five cents is the average cost of a dozen.
Eggs good thing it's Not hawaii where it's over it's
almost ten dollars for a, dozen is it?
Speaker 2 (14:39):
REALLY i feel like we were up to that point
like a month ago or. Two, Yeah but it's dropped.
Down not that six dollars is a, deal but it
has come back.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Down. LISTEN i knew we were going to talk about,
this SO i did some research ways to people can
save money on eggs this. YEAR i found this website
and it gives a couple of. Suggestions it, says choose
store brands instead of the the Designer oh, yeah, yeah yeah,
yeah designer. Eggs you choose the store, brands you might
save some money. There buy eggs in. Bulk typically you'll
save money if you buy the eighteen packs and those,
(15:10):
big huge, palletts big. Trays this is the ONE i don't.
Get this is a suggestion they. Give use fewer, eggs
not an. Option you'll save money if you use savor,
eggs use last, yes, yes fewer. Eggs or you could
do what my wife is. Doing, OKAY i shared this
story not too long. Ago her hairdresser also raises, chicken raises.
(15:30):
Chickens that's. Right SO i heard my wife in the
other room the other day setting up a hair appointment
for Like friday Or, saturday and she's, like could you
also bring a dozen? EGGS i love that your. Wife
That randy's hairdresser is also your egg.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Dealer, YEAH i think he's selling his dozen eggs for
like maybe five dollars a, dozen which is a bargain
compared to the, yeah the average right. Now and they're,
fresh fresh Egg, yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
They're they're they're they're like brown and some of them
are even blue. Colored they're. COOL i Really oh, YEAH
i love.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
THAT i picture that your wife's hairdresser is just flooded
right now with calls from people who are trying to
get in there because It's, easter, right so all of a,
sudden everybody needs their hair.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Done the, hair get your hair, done and grab some
eggs when you're at.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
It, yeah but how are you making it work This
easter with your kids and your? Grandkids, like how are
you getting? Around you know all these prices that are
on the. Rise we'd love to hear your hacks and
ways that you. Say we'll share them with our. Listeners
we love. This eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight,
one or send us a message with Our iHeartRadio.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
App remember that number because coming up later this, morning eight,

see The Little riverband when they come To Cash creek
casino resort In May.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Oh it's going to be such a good. Show we're
also going to throw in an overnight stay At Cash.
Creek so, yes be here at eight twenty for your
next chance to win on The. BREEZE i had a realization, Yesterday,
court and it was one of those realizations that really
hits you in the. Face, yesterday it was a warmer
day here in The Bay. AREA i had to take
my mom to get her hair, done SO i drove
(17:08):
her to her. Appointment but because it was warm AND
i Had, perk our, dog in the car with, ME i,
THOUGHT i don't want to be dragging her, around So
i'm going to go home and drop her off just
because it's too.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Warm let her stay. Home it's cooler.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Inside WHEN i go back to pick up my mom
to take her back to her assisted.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Living So perk was not going to go on this, trip.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Not on the way. Back SO i Drop perk, OFF
i go pick up my mom for a. Appointment we
go back to her assisted living, facility AND i dropped
my mom. Off, well As i'm, LEAVING i see all
these people THAT i know THAT i say hi to
every day at her, place but they're not saying hello.
Back when we're talking to, residents they're not saying hello,
back AND i realize they don't recognize me without. Perk
(17:52):
they now know me as the girl who brings the
cute golden retriever to. Visit but without that cute golden,
Retriever i'm a. Nobody you're.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Nobody i'm.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Nobody isn't that the funniest? Thing and that's that is
not the first time that's, Happened SO i know this
is a proven.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Theory every everything is within. Context and So, carolyn without, Perk.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
I'm no, one, apparently and especially at The carlton And Pleasant.
Hill so today the good news Is perk will be
going with me to see my. Mom we will say our.
Hello's life will be.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Great it's not too dissimilar to just any seeing anybody
out of. Context LIKE i used to write when that,
way would run into a school teacher outside of. School
that's a great example of grocery store he would you
Would you don't recognize them at, first and then when you,
do you're, like wait a, minute.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah, yeah you go to the grocery. Store teachers shop for.
Groceries no, way.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
You can't place him right. Away it's not in.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
CONTEXT i do that with people that work here where
there are people that we don't see every, day and
IF i see them out like in the street, Street i'm,
like how DO i know? Them, oh they're your. Coworker so,
yeah four hours with you every single day, There, caroly
well not, You, COURT i would recognize.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
You so.
