Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Demand Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. Happy Friday morning.
And because it's Friday, you know, at this time every
Friday morning, we announced our new Morning Breeze Person of
the Week.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
This is where we talk about the uncelebrated heroes in
the Bay Area. And I think everybody has somebody like
this in their lives, somebody that they work with, a
family member maybe, or could even be somebody who just
bumped in on the street, a stranger. Yeah, it's just
doing good things for people in the Bay Area. That
definitely fits the bill this week because Gloria in Oakland
is our Morning Breeze Person of the Week and she

(00:36):
was nominated by her coworker, Patricia.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Okay, so we just got Patricia on the phone.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Hi, Patricia, it's Carolyn and Court from ninety eight point
one to the Breeze.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Oh my go you called me in the Morning Walk.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Oh this is perfect.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Then you'll have plenty of time to tell us about
Gloria and why you nominated her for our Morning Breeze
Person of the Week.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
He's a magnificent social worker who has helped created families
and build families for the last sixty years in the
Bay Area. This lady sent her resignation letter via email
to us about a few weeks ago and didn't want
any recognition. I known Gloria enough for twelve thirteen years.
I work in this family agency. She's an amazing worker.

(01:23):
Every time I've done the Goodman families from all ranges, LGBTQ, sing, Okay,
in black families, they always ask, where's Gloria. Give my
love to Gloria, Say hi to Gloria. She's someone who
has just devoted her life to give the best to
other people and create families. She doesn't want recognition, she

(01:43):
doesn't want validation, she doesn't want trophies. Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
You know when you submitted about Gloria reading that she
helped match more than five hundred children over six decades.
I love how you're phrasing it. She created families.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I love that she changed lives, created new journeys for
people of all different backgrounds, and it can be unhurt.
I need other people to know that they're good people
out there doing the real job, having true vocations through
calling true purposes, and they happen to be Americans and myself.
I'm a foreigner. I'm from South America. Let me tell

(02:20):
you Americans, I'll be young careers and titles. You have purpose,
you have goals, you have so many dreams and things
so you can teach to the rest of the world.
And I needed to highlight.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Her absolutely, and especially the fact that she has been
a social worker for sixty years. I can't imagine that
that is easy work at all, and than doing it
for sixty years.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
On top of that, she never complained.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
She's in her eighties. She's a lady who has bring
joy and new changes for people in general, and I
think that I needed to bring it up. I listened
to your radio. I never saw myself submitting for someone else,
but I felt compelled to her.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
And we're so glad that you did.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Thank you for nominating Gloria and bringing her story to life.
Like I wish there were more Patricia's in the Bay
Area that would do this, because there are so many
people that don't get recognition that they deserve. And this
is exactly what our Person of the Week is about.
So we want to just say thank you to you.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Thank you for Colin, and I want for people if
there's goodness out there. There are more good people out
there than evil people. You just need to pay attention.
That's all.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Absolutely, So what we're gonna do is we're gonna reach
out to Gloria separately and make sure that she knows
that she's become the Morning Breeze Person of the Week. Yes,
and also get her connected with City Cruises because she's
