Speaker 1 (00:01):
Game, set and match. Shut the game.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm going to do it again.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
Can I come? Moon Gossdays when the cold? Now, you're
a good evening.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
You're here with boys, get paid, coming at you live
from the acc xbork Beer Garden, Shitty on another Thursday night.
It's how one of our favorite weekends of the year.
It is the Everes weekend and we're back at the Biggie.
Everyone is bloody excited to rip into it this Thursday night.
It's good to have the lads here with me as always. Dan,
come to you first, mate, how are you?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I am good.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
It's take me a little while to get over the
sickness from a couple of weeks ago, but I am
ready ready to roll.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Good luke a bit of tonic from Snazzy Tavvy with
a sort of j had I fuck love that good?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Was it?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Absolutely declared? Has love? Didn't he? Yeah? We love it?
We love it. Swipe left all right, swipe right. I
don't can't remember, it's been a long time. Swiped the
right way. Yeah, good man, it's Nazzy Tammy. How good? Well,
I'm sure we'll come to that. But no, I'm good
made and I'm ready for a big weekend of racing.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Good of course, we're all fine up for Kick of
the Punt. Hopefully the people out there that are listening,
and it's really good to have you with us as always,
but hopefully the people out there are getting ready to
join us at Allesley on Saturday for the King of
the Punt. It's going to be a fantastic day. We've
been down at the pub strategizing, talking about what's going
to happen, how it's all going to roll and gas lads.
It sounds like we've got a bloody good crowd coming
(01:30):
in so far, don't we.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
I've just had an email there's only eleven tickets left
at no point promoting anymore. Eleven tickets. Eleven tickets, so
get your tickets if you do want to come along,
because we've only got a room that can take we.
I shouldn't say only. I sort of thought we might
end up with two hundred people. Will be bloody good
going and we've got a lovely, lovely room. Some people
who have been to some of the early Kadak and
millions maybe familiar with it, but takes about two twenty
(01:53):
and well, actually we did notice in twenty nineteen is
some people lost out in the King of the Punt.
They just carried on off their race day and seat
of and come and wind and whatnot. So yeah, can
we can get two twenty in there? And yeah, I
leaven tickets left to go, so I'd say they'll be
sold out by the time we get to Saturday.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
If you're listening any and you don't have a ticket,
you better get in bloody quick. That's absolutely incredible for
an event in October and early on in the season.
They have that many people coming along, It's going to
be one hell of an atmosphere, So make sure you
do it. We've got the sold up sign tomorrow. It
sold out sign tomorrow. Probably let's just have a quick
chat about it for the people that are coming along,
just to sort of debrief or give a quick summary
(02:31):
on some of the some of the things that people
can expect dan from the King of the Punt on Saturday.
And in terms of rules and things like that.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, well, so, I mean, like I think the email
for all the I guess official rules will be coming
out tomorrow, okay, for everyone to have a really clear
understanding of what you can and can't do. But I
guess effectively, you start off with one hundred ors. So
the idea is that you turn up on the day
and you've got an empty ta B account. You can
(02:59):
still place bets and stuff like that before that, but
only the bets that are placed from when you enter
into the competition during the competition until you get to
the everest actually count towards your winnings. So Private Eye
booms down the outside and gets up in the everest,
I can't count that as part of my King of
the Punt winnings. But you basically start with one hundred
bucks and then it's your job to try and turn
(03:22):
that over in to the most money you can by
the last race. And the last race for the competition
is the everest. You can actually enter individually or you
can with a group of mates. So if there's like,
you know, four of you, it's twenty five bucks each.
You just gamble on one tab account and then you
can re enter as well. And so if you lose
your first hundred dollars, you can re enter for another
(03:44):
hundred dollars. If you lose that, you can re enter
for another hundred dollars. And as far as I know
that the only real rule is that you basically need
to have at least turned over two hundred and fifty
dollars by the time you get to five pm, and
that sort of just weeds out anyone that's putting like
one hundred dollar bed on a sixteen dollars shot that's
at Sex fifteen at core Field or something like that
(04:06):
I think's going to win, and then they win six
hundred dolls whatever and take it over. And there's a
few other rules that are coming out, like no maltese,
so no fixed price maulties throughout the day as well,
So you've just got to sort of like gamble on
a horse and then I just go all in and
reinvest on the next one if that's what you're going
to do.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Anyway, same race maulti is okay, but not maulties over
over races across the afternoon.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
No ya, because otherwise you get Harry the hero that
pretends here and pretends, oh nah, no, like I'm not
going that good, I'm not on the leaderboard. But they're
actually two legs deep into a multi and then all
of a sudden they pop up and go, oh shure,
I've got three grand, and he was like, oh, what
the hell, where's this person come from? And they've actually
just been sitting there all day waiting for this multi
to finish. So it's just a way to little flush
(04:51):
that out. I mean, if you're serious about a horse,
you're just going to keep backing it like you don't
need a multi anyway. Punters, good punters know that maultis
are the best product for the tab to take money
off the punter, so we exclude them out of a
puntist club, any pundest competition. Anyways, I think we should
have spotters.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
I'll put my hand up as a spotter, just to
go around the room and ask people, Hey, you know
what's going on with your mate? You're quiet over here.
You let us know how you're going. If you if
you've got to win, you need a fucking shout about it.
Because we didn't know where everyone's at. Get a bit
of atmosphere in the room. We don't want people sitting
down in the corner not celebrating their victory, so no
one knows what's going on.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I was actually going to get my mum to come
along fantastic, pretend like she was helping out. But we're
a pair of those glasses that record things and just
go and lean over people and have a look at
the tab account and see what's going on in there.
She's a mystery shopper, Yeah, mystery shopper at the King
of the Punt. But now she's tied up. She's spending
a pinch in this weekend, so she can't Okay, all right,
she should be spending it on punting. But that's okay.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
We're going to have two undred and twenty great people
in a room at Allersley. The atmosphere is going to
be fantastic, I understand yet. So you've you've laid down
some of the rules there and make sure you've only
got one hundred dollars in your account when you start
the punting competition. Want to make that easy for everybody.
It's going to be from one open from one pm
and Alosie in the room. And the first race that
you can enter into Race one at Allersley, not Race
(06:02):
one at or Tucky.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Correct. We'll confirm that tomorrow because I think, okay, yeah,
you're definitely not Race or Tucky because I think it
would have run by the end. But the gates to
Alsie only open at one o'clock anyway, But as soon
as we're in that room, then I think it'll be
in your registered You're basically fear game to start punting,
and you can have a crack at the dogs later
on a fifth day gun around.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Who knows.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
I'm sure something on track side too will be taking
someone's fancy. You didn't bark when you said that, Oh
I can.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
What about your strategies, lads, This is just to give
some people a bit of an insight into what potentially
Not that you know anyone sort of experts on King
of the Punt, they're probably very difficult to win. But Dan,
you must have had a thought about how you're actually
going to play it to get started with you one
hundred dollars on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah, well, I mean I did think about it, and
then I found out the rule. So I was going
to sort of launch into a few early and see
if I can build up a bit of a bank
and then have a real gross multi to try and
finish off the day.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
But apparently that's not happening.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
So yeah, Look, I've kept my powder dry for the
last week, so I've been saving up my pennies so
that I've got plenty to reload. But I think I'm
going to launch into a few early and see if
i can build a bank, so that gives me an
opportunity to have have a have a go at a
few later.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Nice. I'd imagine you'd be filling up on Friday too,
wouldn't you do.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
I will be yeah, yep, yeah, rum yeah, jeez. I
can't get Tuesday, you know, I will absolutely, I'll be.
You'll be having a few drinks just watching the harness.
There's a few nice horses going around on Friday night.
So I'll be looking to build the bank and then
I'll withdraw that money, put it into my bank account,
and then I'll be going one hundred at a time
(07:40):
into the punders club.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
So you're just going to go one hundred dollars. You're
just going to go and then and then top up
again if you don't want.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
It, or I might do that for the first two races,
and if I'm going no good, then I'll probably you know,
lower the units a little bit. We need to know
in the comments, what's the likelihood, like, give us some
odds dollar fifty two bucks, eight dollars forteen's that the
rac band wins the ging of the part.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Someone let us know what what have you got? Yeah, look,
i I'll probably I'll play probably play it much the
same like there's a few horses I like. So you'll
have to back yourself because it's one of those days
where it is quite tricky. So it's easy at the
end of a day like that to look back and go,
I should have had more on that, et cetera. But
I think at some stage during the day you're probably
gonna need a bit of luck where you do roll
(08:26):
the dice because you're not really just betting to make
a bit of coin. You're almost like chasing someone on
the leaderboard as well, so it sort of forces your
hand a little bit in comps like this. So I
think it will be interesting to see how some people
beat differently to how they would normally be, and some
people probably actually get, you know, up the leaderboard and go,
you know what, I might just I might just take
my winnings and I don't need to try and have
(08:46):
a crack at the leader But yeah, I think the
action will really heat up once people have made it
to base camp at five point thirty and then into
that final sort of forty minutes into the everest. I
think we will see a lot of all in action
into the ever East, and yeah, I'm hoping that I
can sider get to base camp and then grab a
couple of shirpers and mean climb that mountain and then
(09:09):
climb of oxygen barsels. Yeah, I probably need a couple
of oxygen masks as well, and then not have to
use all of my oxygen, but just play something a
little bit wide in the everest and really screen that
home and watch a couple of people that are all
in on I one wish, one win. You know, we're
having a jolly time looking at the stars, that sort
of thing. And I'm just out wide booming home four
(09:30):
bucks to place or something, and I've got half me
kitty on boom and we take out the King of
the Partlet's see.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
I was just thinking I wouldn't mind having five hundred
bucks on a twenty six dollars shot in the Everage,
just booming down the outside to take it out.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Just to really just really ram it home.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
And the really ram it. I either put myself in
a body bag or go for thelry.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Two slightly different approaches there, far more circumspect, and you know,
I think through a dan rack just fucking load up
and get into it and.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
See what happens. I love it. What about yours? Mate?
Tell us to your circumcised approach.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Not an issue for me. But I'm going to sit
on the sit on the loop side of the things.
I've sort of thought about it, you know, just to
try and give a spreadsheet out, do you reckon? I
won't be able to take a laptop, so I have
to I have to do plenty of prep. Okay, Yeah,
I'll probably be looking to spend that one hundred dollars
on say the first four races, and just hope that
I can get that up to two hundred bucks. Yeah,
(10:26):
nearly getting into that kind of that that threshold of
making base camp, as you say, and then start loading
up a little bit more. Yeah, certainly not going to
throw one hundred dollars away too early.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Have you sent a couple of texts to Brad Davo
Davids You'll lean on him.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I'll definitely be following him.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
The other thing I thought about is are you allowed
to do a QUADDI?
Speaker 1 (10:44):
You can't? I think, oh I can't recall. Actually, let
me just see if I've got the because.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
I think it's going to be such a tough day
potentially at Elslie that that people that can find something
a little bit out of the box will find one
of those types of things could could actually get the
job done. I think I heard that the goats saying
obviously you can't do the late quadity because we may
not be going past the Everest.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yeah, yeah, that's right, And I think Elsie is still
one race to go, so there's probably no late Quardy there.
I don't know if there's an earlier one on Saturday
at Elleslie, but yeah, I'm pretty sure that's fine.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Look, it's going to be fantastic either way. It's going
to be bloody tough actually, particularly at Elslie. Like we
talked about. We will get into some of that racing
and what some of the lads like a little bit
later on the show. But we're looking forward to seeing
everybody there on Saturday. Make sure you get in the
comments tonight. We want to hear who you think is
winning the Everest. Some of the barriersjors may have thrown
a few horses out, but may have actually brought a
few horses into contention. The odds are looking very very even.
(11:37):
We're very keen to see what everybody else has to
think about it. We're going to go through the open
handicap at Allesley and the Everest in twenty minutes or so,
so we'll give you our thoughts and what's going to happen.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
We want to know your thoughts. Who's your best bet
on in the Everest?
Speaker 2 (11:50):
We also want to know what's your song at the
Kadaka million is going to be as well, because quite
rightly from Luke, we need to get that cranking at
them as soon as we can. We need to know
that's going to be on Saturday as well. We've got
the tab Everest Mega Millions. Don't forget about that. You
can choose your runners one to twelve to win ten
million dollars by yourself or a share of it. There's
a video blowing around at the moment with the rat
(12:11):
bans one to twelve. Luke, I don't know if you
want to delve into that too much at this point
in time, or should we do in the interest.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yeah, I saw some lid commenting on it straight away
I said, well that's wrong.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Well that's just so bullshit, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
I mean, what was their name? What was the Lid's name.
Let me have a look.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Dan's reaction was, of course it's wrong. It's a four
hundred and eighty million charts.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
It's not right. You got out the put your balls
on the line and list out. You're one to twelve
out in the public and something, well that's wrong. How
do you know make the race hasn't been lid?
Speaker 2 (12:42):
And is it number ten that's wrong? Or is it
number two was wrong? Or is it number one?
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Like oh bloody Eric the hero. But no, it's a
fantastic promotion. Realistically, anyone can get involved and have a
crack and to win ten million bucks pretty unreal. It's
a life changing amount of money. I mean, you can
get half fucking two bedroom unit in all on these
days and you might have a bit of cash left
over for a bloody steak meal somewhere.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Dan's going down to Whistbury stud or Cambridge to buy
a horse straight away. So I've heard that, old Betty.
I feel like you're under pressure there, Joel Joel, Betty
Joel Beaton.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
He's watching. I saw him commenting before. He's a regular listener.
What Joel, Joel, Joel, that's not ten MILLI your way
off cheers.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Joel, Joe, Joel. We expect better from even.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
A real last name. Betty. It's surely what it's a
fake beating last name.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Anyway, Joel, that's yep. Anyway, we'll move on from that.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
We'll wait.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Let's twelve out there, mate, Ah God, all right, let's
move on. Land's the come week. Punters Club is open.
It has been some shenanigans early on with what's going on.
I'm I'm not allowed promotions, so I won't.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Be a part of the Punters Club that has been banned. Hey,
we'll play you an eight minute intro video to explain
how to get into the Punters Club. It's actually very simple.
There's a link inside the BGP at But I guess
what you have to understand is it's now very different
to how we have traditionally into the Punds Club. So,
just for some context, the tab prior to Intain taking over,
(14:13):
they built away for us to run a punter's club
at scale, and they did a tremendous job and everyone
got really used to that. But Intane have a way
that facilitates punters clubs, not just for BGP, but for
other groups in the future. Even your mates and stuff
like that, and I guess we're sort of going to
be trialing it, and it's a hell of a trial
(14:34):
when you're going to have ten thousand people involved. But
basically there will be groups now within the tab, So
you could set up a group of your mates or
BGP have set up a group, and so you join
that group, and you can actually have a bit of
band too of all the other people in there, much
like our Facebook group, let's say. And then in there,
if there's a pot open, which is a punter's club,
then you can go to the pot and say I
(14:54):
would like to put xyz amount into the pot, and
so you move that from your balance into the pot
and then you are a part of the pot. Now
we don't close the pot until we start betting, but
that so that bit is very similar. But you can
do even want to explain that bit. You can then
readd into the pot. But what you need to understand
(15:16):
is if you do that, then the stake that you
say you're putting in there needs to be updated to
the total amount. So, by way of example, if you
had twenty dollars in there and you wanted to put
another five dollars in you would need to tell the
pot that you're updating it to twenty five dollars. If
you just put another five dollars, it's then going to
take your twenty out and just put five dollars in.
(15:36):
So it's a little bit different to you know historically
where people have been chipping away at building up their
entry into a pundus club. But it's now open and
you know, there'll be some teething issues and it's very
different to how it has been. It's only available via
the app, so you can't go into it and go
to a terminal. And yeah, this will be I guess
the test before we rip into the Karaka millions as well.
(15:58):
But cut week. We're going to be over the Thursday,
Friday and the Saturday, and as always, it's all a
bit of fun. We'll have a crack. If you can't
handle losing, then please do not fucking enter because we
do not want to hear from you and that's not
what it's about. So make sure it's fun for you.
And there's already a few people that have added some
turn in there and I'm looking forward to seeing how
much we got to play with by the time we
(16:19):
get down to Cup Week.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Look, the last time the Punters Club ran across a
Cup week, you the goat did did an outstanding job.
So I'm pretty sure that's going to happen again.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
I hope so may the Harness lads.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Cyrus yeah, Cyrus, Yeah, yeah, sorry, I was just trying
to think whether that was during Cup week. I remember
Fitzy running around the lawn. It was a fantastic It was.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
All on running around the lawn under the sprinkler and
also that Zach Butcher meat show us your meat Zb's meat. Yeah.
He and he's like, boys, like, I'll get this one
home for you, and he's like cosbecks. He should have
put more on iconic iconic scenes what it was called.
We won some of the dogs as well. That's right.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Sorry, it's all just going back to me.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yeah, Star Karli Carlito.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah, it was one of the best Punters clubs that's
ever been run. I'd like to put a stake in
the ground and say, if you put money into the
Punters Club, do not take it out.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yep. Nice, yeah, do you reckon? Yeah, We'll just make
a rule. Yeah, absolutely, I love that rule.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
There's already seventy three people involved two and eighteen dollars,
not bad considering it's a brand new way to enter
in a brand new way to figure everything out.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Sone, this thing's going to climb, I think as well.
Just for some further info, we're rebuilding the BGP app
at the moment and I touch base touch base such
a corporate saying with the app developers this week and
they touch base back with me and Sidy Scott base
good Horse one of cnarka millions one year that we're
nearly at testing, and then when we get past testing
(17:44):
we can roll it out. So it's going to be
cool to see that. We will still have bedding updates
and things like that. That app is going to look
very very different as well, and I'm excited to have
people see what that looks like. So in the meantime,
you can enter the Punters Club four Cup week via
the link in the app. That's probably the fastest way
to do it.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Fantastic mate, You've been working around way in the background
on that app for a very very long time. So
the community to be bloody excited and no doubt it's
going to be a great product once that happens. Right
after that, lads, the Karaka Millions is our next event,
and the tickets are available. We've got sound Carteel in
the room. Rack man, is that right?
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yeah? We do yep.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Rob reminded me after last week's podcast, after I'd had
a couple of bears, and said, mate, you said it
was SoundCloud soundcut.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Fucking get it right? All right, mate, my bad. Fuck.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
As long as they play the songs that we want,
it's all going to be a fantastic afternoon.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Did we confer whether they can do fifty cent covers? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Okay, Oh what do you mean, like you're paying fifty cents?
I hear we're having to play a bit more than
that with some you want to see if you can
find them in the club.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Yeah, that's good dad.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
And the tickets are open, they're selling, they're going fast.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Three hundred and eighty thousand tickets have gonel ready, so
they nearly sold out. Yeah, three I think three hundred
and something. Actually, haven't chickened in on that. For bits
that will be climbing, we've got the key we open
as well. People want to come along to the Kiwi brilliant. Yeah,
it's all happen.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I mean, if we've already if we're selling out the
everest on Saturday, Kadaka millions is definitely going to be
done very quickly too. So yeah, people need to get involved.
Did we talk about the couple week tickets? No, no, no,
sorry I skipped over that, but you're one hundred percent right.
We do need to talk about the dogs and the harness.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Oh this is a good example.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
You know.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I got an email about you know, we're running the
pundice competition or you never do anything in the South Island.
I'm like, hey, mate, I haven't seen your name on
the list for the dogs or the harness yet crickets
you know. No response, I'm like, get along, mate, stop
complaining and get along. I'm sure the people down there
in Canterbury and in the South Island they'll show up
in numbers and I'm looking forward to seeing some of
those good people.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Yeah absolutely, mate, Dogs Thursdays is all in the app
A few very fine establishments down there that I wouldn't
mind visiting after a couple of beers and a bit
of a punt, but particularly looking forward to going to
the pups. I'm just looking looking forward to seeing the
pups on Thursday night. Yes, absolutely, Before and after the races,
(20:07):
but also looking forward to the Harness on Friday. Yeah,
that's gonna be really good. Man, Like I love agree.
Being right on the lawn, right in front of the
track there, maybe show I should meet. We back him
and he comes past us again and says you should.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Have put more on. Yeah, I've got a horn for
the lawn. I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
It's gonna be an absolutely fantastic where we go wait
for it. To make sure you get your tickets, you
can find them online all through the BGP channels as always,
the Dogs on Thursday and the Harness on Friday, and
of course get involved with the Punters Club in the
Karaka Millions tickets as well. Right, oh ladies, let's get
into some horse racing. We want everybody to keep their
comments coming in. Who's going to win the Everest on Saturday?
(20:45):
Is it going to be I Wish I went? Is
it going to be Jolly Starr? Is it going to
be Private Eye? Is it going to be I am Me?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
What were you? And Luke?
Speaker 2 (20:51):
We'll find out. Steffie Magnetica, who knows, we'll get to it.
Get your comments coming in. We want to hear from you.
But before we do that. Holy shit, Hoggard was the
liver of my classic and Snazzy Tavvy. She is. We
thought she was good, but that was way better than
we expected.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
That was incredible. Yeah, someone that and yeah, I guess
we have to acknowledge one bowl cat there briefly as
well with the bliss bit not getting home and tied
was very confident but hopefully a few of the people
who listened to the Monday Recap and even just the
podcast early on in the season we were talking about
how maybe this is the target for Snazzy Tavy. But yeah, look,
I was even surprised at you know, how how well
(21:28):
she won that. And you know, I'd say to you guys,
now we get to find out as she really grouped
one quality and yeah, I think she is. There's no
doubt about it. She just won it with ease. Yeah
she certainly did. Mad.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yeah, I mean you got I think the world knows
how I feel about this horse. I love her and
I love her more now. It's funny because I got
on really early when she was paying eighteens and I
just kept putting anything I could on her, like molting
everything into her at eighteens and then I read an
article they were saying that they might have a bit
of an early spring and that maybe like there's a
(22:04):
bill Classic or something like that was more her target,
and they weren't sort of like aiming for this one,
no mention of this one. So I was like, oh shit,
I've i went a bit soft on her. And then
and then obviously when she won at Tarapa, I was like,
oh my god, this is her. But it was a
bit too late then because i'd sort of, you know,
I was down to seven dollars, so I'd sort of
lost the value. But seven dollars ended up being value anyway,
(22:26):
because then she closed at three eighty or something.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
I was about to say that, like market did not
miss her. She ended up closing up three point eight.
I'm pretty sure she's favorite on the toe. And yeah,
we as soon as they moved that race meat to
turn Arpa gave me a lot more confidence. I was
in the gym and I had to load a little
snowball into the tab account, you know, and have a
little Leachway something and the goat you know, of course
he he knows everything about Punny said, oh, they'll refund that, mate,
because the tracks changed they got to refund the future.
(22:49):
I'm like, I don't do it to me, matter, I
do it to me. I just got sevens I got
the seven kilo Dumbells going here and I got seven
bucks a Snaizy tabby, but they didn't refund it and
shit they had to pay it out. So feel good.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
It was really really impressive to watch, and we were
talking about it before the show that if you look
forward to the neck to the two thousand meter races
this year, very very hard to say who who has
the quality of that kind of finish that she's got.
Perhaps Legato, we don't really know that where Logardo was.
Snazzy Teavy might go to Australia. Sorry, yes, Stancy Tevy
might go to Australia. One Bowld Cat obviously, like you
(23:22):
said at the top Looke, I'm sure Ted will get
the punter's back at some point as well, because for
all money leading up to the race, the horse should
have been the favorite and probably should have run top three.
But the ride that Warren Kennedy gave Snazzy Tevy off
the back of one Bowld Cat to just get over
the top of them. Luke's watching it now it's just unreal.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Does anyone know how to put the replay as your
wallpaper or on your screen so you just have it looping?
Looks she's put like two and a bit lengths off them,
And is that no compromise Charlotte surely like that's a
good run from no compromise. But yeah, seriously absolutely they're
not being Campi in this are up as well. That's
gone over Toustralia.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Everyone was tipping Campion were there are a lot of
people that were to keep tipping Campion. She's just she
just didn't quite get there. But good horse still, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
I love the camper.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
And then she just like kind of leveled up next
to one bowl cat too and said, be fucking seeing. Yeah,
this is pretty good run. Just a bit of personal
liability that going on.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
If anyone at Tiakal thinks that they can get moved
to strike back up and going in time for the
two thousand guineas, I'd fucking appreciate.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
It, just quietly.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
There's a bit on the multi paying twenty five grand
Oh man, you just need it to win, just needed
to stroke the win. So I needed to have that
operation come back, get up and running and win the
two thousand guineas.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
That's all still a chance. Good luck with that, mate.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
It was a tough week for the lads in general
last week outside of the goat who got Lombardie home
at Ashburden again he just finds something from nowhere?
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Was there our worst performing week? Yes season, yes season
harness and gallops ah she was.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
It was tough, but Dan, you were saying that no
harness punters on Friday night got it right, apart from
Mark got the big Lebowski, but the general you know,
punditry on the night.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Yeah, it was. It was a hard and I know
I think there were a couple of a couple of
horses that shortened and got got got home. There's marketplace
in the harness. And then there was one of the
other Purdon runners, the three year old. I think, so
there was some but like it was, it was a
tough night's punting. Hot is just popping up left front center.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
What did the big the big Bowski pay? It's shortened.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
I think it ended up paying two bucks Oh okay, yeah,
so it shortened from three point eight into two dollars
oh five or something.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
So and then the Lombardy was four points something.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
I think it was more than that, because it was
it was surged out to about buck so it come
out even if you took a bit on everything.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Okay, well what we can plain about what a weekend?
Speaker 2 (25:46):
We're just not used to that thirteen point six ROI
that you bring us, mate, we've come down from the clouds.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I was I could beat myself up too, because I
liked that Philly down south and I started typing it
up and I had the gag and Samantha win. Samantha,
all I do is win or get this one home.
And then I just got a bit worried about ash
burden and it getting a bit too far back. I'm like, no,
I'm going to stick. Will suit yourself, bite just you know,
suit yourself, you get this done. And then of course,
but anyway, I think it's called Rosea or something, was like,
(26:12):
well back, booms up the rail and Samantha, all I
do is win? And how didn't you have vivacious?
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I know what an an idiot. I was a bit
scratched for time last week, and I really said, guess myself.
But anyway, we'll turn the page. We will turn the page.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
We turned the page to Sunday and guess I found
a thirty one dollar harness winner.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
That was unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Way like I think he tipped it out at nineteen's
and it drifted to thirty ones.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
He's unwell that bloke.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
It's very very rare that he tips one and it
goes the other way. Yeah, normally when he tips them
like literally, you know, the bookies are in there watching
and they just slashed a price in half real quick.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
That one didn't And my god, was that a good win?
Speaker 3 (26:53):
That was I had an unbelievable session for like an
hour period there. It was outrageous.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
See on the tab of court at the Sunday session
now too.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
I enjoyed the coverage. Actually, they just talked about beating
all day.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
It was quite good.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
I thought they were really good.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Yeah did you Yeah, yeah, I thought it was quite enjoyable.
They had the same race mold as a bit of
banter as well, be Pops and George Simon. Yeah, had
the same race MOLTI they can out of the race.
It was yeah, it was getting a little bit frisky.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Actually to Craig Frisky did a Craig Rail of the
South and back to pep in the studio.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
It was fantastic. It was a great crew. Yeah, really
enjoyed it. Yeah, the pups were on too, Yep, they
were allicap.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
What about Luberon let Oh yeah, this is another cabridge
stut romp home.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
These cabridge studs is are fucking flying. It's outstanding to see,
isn't it. We got one coming up in the evereses
a couple of days as well. But yeah, that was
a that was a huge win. I think we got
nines in the morning, nines for Luberon. After it sat
three wide there alis Slay the big ee then goes
down there to off the door and just beats up
a quality field, absolutely bit them up as well.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
If you follow them Monday recap as well, it was there,
it said a lou On three wide that was a
black book run. It's probably gonna win again next start
and surely comes out. There was a hot field as well,
and it put them away.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
She's just running straight now, a like she really put
it all together on Saturday and even at Elsie when
she won. If you watch the hit on, there's a
moment where it's like, oh shit, like there's a little
bit of a scratch, remember, and it nearly gets done
on the line and I'm like, ah fuck, that's cost
to the race. But no, she won somehow won and
then bang just just really like put it all together
left handed down that straight and it's good to watch.
(28:29):
It was good to see he's good. She's going to
go good at Trent to May down that shoot.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know where she's going. Where is
she going?
Speaker 1 (28:38):
I mean back wherever she goes surely after that?
Speaker 2 (28:41):
I mean Rotor could be a pretty tricky track to
get the form on some of them, like Whitak probably
needs a bit of a bigger longert straight than that.
It was coming home pretty well, but still many links off.
Bonnie Lass was a little bit unlucky probably you know,
doesn't really care if they win that race or not
too much. But again, like Snezy Tavy on Saturday, the
way that finish heading the line was just like easy.
(29:02):
I don't know you'd be wanting to follow the horse
wherever it goes, eh. Sexy Bellatrick Star got three in
a row on Saturday as well, and Jimmy Starr win again.
So Bellatrick Star, Taako, Dan, You're you've got a lot
of money. Not a lot of money, but you're gonna
win a lot of money on Bellatrick Star potentially this season, hopefully.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
I took the thirty six's on the Cool Mall well,
and I put it out on the Monday recap as well,
so it's going to be like that's a very very
difficult race to win. She has gone up against some
really good horses there on the weekend, but in handicapped
conditions and she's got a really lightweight. But the Call
(29:44):
Mall has like taken on very very serious horses. But
she keeps winning and that's all you can do. You know,
I'm winning quite impressively as well, so you never know.
She's only fifteen now for the Cool Mall, I'm happy
to have the thirty sixes. I'll probably take a little
bit more at the fifth Deans. We'll see how we
go at the King of the Punt this weekend.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
I think she'd be home, mate, I think she'd be
on a plane turn up there at the big Eie
Elleslie can arka million's night. Three year old starts three dollars?
What have you got her at eighty six's now? I
do wonder if they'll bring this horse back and have
(30:23):
a crack. You have to think a lot of New
Zealand owners. You've got Johnny Galvino with the sash from
Fortuna there. You know he'll want to look after those
owners as well. But I'm sure they'll have a bit
of a plan. But I thought maybe that could be
a bit of a sneaky bit in the three year old. Well,
like you say, it's a really big ownership team, isn't it.
There's a big syndicate, so why not, you know, get
(30:45):
back to New Zealand and have a crack at that
because it's bloody good money. It's really fantastic to see
the horse doing well, because yeah, it was good last
season over here.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
I was just gonna say, it's only a couple of
weeks to the cool more so that's on the second
of November, so she could do that and then come.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Home mate, do the double job. Done right.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
I'm us the race and I just forgot to watch
a replay. But Orcheschel and diss it Lightning went toe
to toe and let you tell me that Orchestral was
a bit unlucky.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Yeah, I had to watch a replay to see how
she finished that. Far back and just to forgive her
that she went around and yeah, I actually I didn't
really have any eyes for Dissit Lightning, to be honest.
So Dan might be able to fill us in on that,
but I'll definitely be back in Orchestral wherever she ends up.
Was that the Antenna race when Antino came around? And
(31:30):
was it the two rack?
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Right?
Speaker 1 (31:32):
I was deep into a cession at Hoppers at the.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Start, A lot of beers by that point as well,
So I can't remember exactly, but if that was the race,
like Disnerit Lightning, I thought run pretty well and Orchestral
was so unlucky. I watched actually during the week on
racing dot Com like a bird's eye view, and Orchestral
like getting out late. You just see her power through
the line. Watch out Empower Rose five dollars.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Oh so yeah, well we were getting good odds in
that race swimming for Orchestral and then now we're probably
not going to get it after that run by Bucks
take that.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
Do we know where issues going? They see the Empire
Rose for sure? Oh how good electric start? If I
was twenty one and sixers for the three year old
very speaking, six nice it winds up anyway.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Might have found something right, Oh, people, keep your comments
coming in.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
We're going to have a.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Couple of race previews. We'll go through one race ely,
then we'll get into the Everest. Then after that we'll
get some comments from the community on who they think
is going to win the Everest and what your song
at the Karaka Millions is going to be. We're looking
forward to hearing some of those, right, eh, lads, race
sex Look, you're probably going to have to be a
little bit koy here. I'm sure it doesn't really matter,
does it. Your best bets of this race?
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Mate? Somebody?
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Well?
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Yeah, look, I put a bit of time into having
a look through this and I thought quality time could
be the bit in this race. Now I've been backing
at the last couple. I think it's now a third up,
but just a little bit concerned about the weight. I
didn't think it was too bad of a run last
start and just sort of faded a bit there. But
then looking at the weight, oh, I just don't know
(33:02):
about that, And so I started digging into the replays
of the Odyssey. It looks like Dan's digging into himself
down here. You're right, mate, I'm struggling waiting to go
the comments, so I'll just keep talking for half an
out and night, Paul, go, So the Odyssey, and look,
this horse has been pretty good. It's been working on.
My only concern about it is just getting home at
(33:23):
allsy of just how that has sort of been. But
I think they'll be a little bit closer in a
pretty compact field. And if this horse can let down
I think four dollars. I wonder if it might even
drift slightly on the day, because I think the old
person might come for a horse like Nestic or Quality
Time or even like Bosh is pretty hard to make
a case against. But yeah, I think there's a lot
of upside to the Odyssey, and I think the barn
(33:45):
Stormer can get us home two from two to twenty
one hundred meters. That's what we're stepping up to and
primed ready to go. I made that might be bit
this weekend. Fantastic. Can you topple that? Dan, No, I
don't think so.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
I thought.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
I don't know about Harba.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Look, I don't know what's going on with this horse,
because it runs some really good races last season, and
I just I think, like I mean, I don't know.
I mean, at eight dollars fifty until I was sixty,
I can't have any of it. If it was fifteen
or sixteen dollars, maybe I'd have a little bit of
each way on it. Nistig was so impressive last start,
but sixty kilos and its aim as the New Zealand Cups,
(34:21):
I'm wondering, maybe is it going to be a little
bit dow this time and maybe not quite sharp enough
to the twenty two hundred. I'm pretty much in agreeance
with Kimmy's but the omen bittingness races Bosh, the Big
John coming to eat his Chinese next week at all,
he's boy, big John Bush, Big John Bosh, surely gonna
(34:43):
be thebes.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
There's this guy that's it. Yeah, that's it. What about
you met daddy?
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Yeah? I like quality time? I really sorry, not quality time.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
I really liked the Sorry. I really liked the odessty.
I reckon fifty four kg's fourth up this horse once
twenty one hundred meters, Like you say, it's two from
two at the it's got a good barrier draw and yeah,
I think that that's a really good bet. I like
Nistig as well, and I like Bosh as well. I
don't think Nestig is going to win the race, but
I think it'll run top four just because of the
(35:11):
quality and the way that it run last race. And
Bosh has just been finishing them off so well. So
I'm going to have a crack at the same race, Maulti.
To be honest, I'm gonna have go a top two
of the Odyssey and top four both Nestig and Bosh,
and that's paying ten bucks.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Why do I have a go? And I have a
bit on the nose of the Odyssey too. Yeah, this
is part of my King of the Punch strategy. So
I'm hoping that the kitty will be purring a little
Swiss kitty by the time I get to race number six.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Have you got the same race, MAULTI in that one
as well?
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Oh no, I just mean I'll be going all in
on the Odyssey, Okay, yeah, and then then they'll give
me a big, big old kiddy.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
By race six. You could have five or ad bucks. Yeah,
this could do it. This could be the winning or
losing a kick of the pupfolow.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
That's it. And then but I've got enough time because
that's at four thirty. So even if the Odyssey does
get beat by quality time and I have to go
down there and have some words with the Odyssey, then
I've still got a fear. But the time to try
and get myself to base camp. I've got an hour.
I'll get myself an hour to get the base camp.
So we're gonna turn one hundred back into I'll turn
it over and to two hundred and fifty bucks with
a turnover which I'll find a way.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
And this is where you can just this time of
the day, you can just bet left, right, and center
everywhere they're racing fucking all over the place.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Its gonna be the fucking remote.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
So hang on. So you actually have to have over
twrentner and fifty dollars, No, no, just turnover just too
so you would have turned over towner and fifty by
that stage anyways.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Put it all on. Yeah. So what I'm saying though,
is this is my this is my play. So I'm
going to be chips in. Yeah. So I've got a
big kiddie and then I've got plenty of ammo. You know,
I'm just slinging the back on. But if I if
I miss, I've still got an hour to turn over
one hundred so that I can make base camp at
five thirty with two hundred and fifty bucks a turnover, right, Okay,
this is going to be gold A that's kind of
(36:48):
does it make sense? No? Why that does make sense?
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Just no, Because I was thinking, like, don't you just
have to turn over two hundred and fifty dollars in total?
So I'm saying, like saying, race one, two and three dollars.
You've you've been one hundred, Then you bet another one
hundred dollars. You're already turned over two hundred dollars. Then
you bet another one hundred dollars. You've been turned over
three hundred dollars. By the time you get to that.
It doesn't matter how much you put on, it'll lose.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
Well certainly not damn. But if you've turned you one
hundred dollars over and you've done three hundred to turnover,
and I've got five hundred, and I've put it on
the fucking Odyssey at four dollars and I've now got
two k ships. Ship you lose. You've got enough turnover
to give yourself a chance to launch into something.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
You got it chips and get the job done on
the Odyssey and fucking Cruiser is the afternoon.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Yeah you like it?
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Maybe fantastic, right, That's why I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
I just love it.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
I can't wait to see what everyone's up to it,
how it's going to play out. It's going to be really,
really great. I hope that does happen for you. Look, right,
let's get to the Everest.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Could be down the bouncy castle. I've got no chips
lift lay down.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
I think it's a good bouncy castle and a nice
lawn down there. It should be good right over the
Everest Race seven at Rainwork. This is a race which
is very special to us because we've all been there
and we had a fantastic time over there and it
was one of the best, or it is one of
the best race days that you could possibly go to,
not that I've been to them all, but a lot
of young people, a lot of excitement, fantastic horses, and
(38:16):
a lot of money to be won. So Dan, mate,
you've gone one to twelve on one.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Of our segments this morning.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
So you've been researching this race since ten thirty pm
on Tuesday night when the barrier raw came out mate.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
Yeah I have, and man, it's a minefield this race.
I think literally all of them can win this race.
With the right run and the right conditions, all of
them can win the race. I went early on the
futures and I've got it wrong. I got one at
one price and it's now paying more than it was
when I got it, which is tough, but these things happen.
(38:50):
It's drawn barrier tent, it's called Private Eye. I still
think it's a chance to win. So I've been consulting
some for menalists in Australia and they reckon the only
chances one has two win is to get forward, go forward, sorry,
And if it does go forward, based on the speed map,
it might be able to get the one out, one
(39:11):
back position and that might be its best chance of winning.
Do I think that's going to happen. Absolutely not. I
reckon it's gonna be three wide with no cover and
I'm going to be hurting for certain when it comes
around the corner. But if things do work out, I
think there's a chance. High Like Private I think he's
gone two really gun races to lead into this, and
I think it's set perfectly to peak in the Everest.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
It was three wide without cave last year in the
Everest and ran second or third just behind. I wish
I went and had no right to come back at
them in the last hundred meters but dead.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
Yeah, absolutely, and so I think they've it's peaked really well.
Like its six last start was still running on really
aggressively and was only like two links or a length
and a half off the winner from coming from a
long way back.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
So yeah, I don't know. It's a tough race, man.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
I wish I when there's obviously been going great guns
as well, and his ratings show that he is ready
to peak. Third up on a big trap is going
to go really well. Jolly Starr. Sounds like the team's
really happy with that. I think a horse like Stiffy Magnetica,
like think about it won the drag Broke the year before,
and so that form stacks up. So that's a horse
that can win BALLA. Nicotina's obviously been going great guns
(40:23):
growing empire. I thought Daughter a little bit at the
end of its run at the Valley, but it might
be just that it was a little bit new and
they think it's improving as well.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Stormboy could be anything, mate, there's any like Yeah, this is, yeah,
this is. This is a tough race to pick. I'm
just going private eye. I'm going to keep backing it.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
It's one of the favorites paying sex dollars, isn't it, Loucus,
Bloody tough.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
I've gone through this year's field and yeah, it's a
pretty ordinary bunch of horses, isn't it. I think there's
only one thing to do, and it's really just throw
a dart at the slot. And about as much as
I could come up with was traffic orden ridden by
Jamie Carr. That's good enough for me. At seven dollars,
that's outstanding. Man, what a bloody field. I think it
(41:10):
would be amazing to see. I wish I win win
for the Kiwi Connections. Really cool to see that j
Matt could get this one hundredth through one as well
with Jolly Starr. Pretty hard to forgive that run last
start though, Gee was it was a bit ordinary, But
apparently we have to just turn the page. And you
know J Matt gave the horse that Pat a couple
(41:32):
of starts ago and you just have to think that
maybe there's something special there. But yeah, I kind of
let's either I wish I win for me and they've
just tuned this to the minute. They know how to
win this race, but four point eight out to six
point five, or I think we're going to see another blowout. Now,
we were there that year when we were sort of
chips in on Nature strip. The whole crowd was oh
(41:54):
and it was a strip out and I thought we
were home and host. At the two hundred, I think
I even had something on Eduardo to place. I thought
that had come in as well. And then it's like
crowd's pretty quiet, nah, Like who's gigakick? Who's that? Ye
Giga kicked their heads in the back inside and like
from the two hundred to the post, the race is
just completely different. So yeah, I think it's it's going
(42:16):
to be another one of those races where I wouldn't
be surprised if something pops up out of the ground
and just knocks them off, because as we always say,
with these sprinters, you know you can find that just
something goes a little bit wrong and then that horse
is done. You know, they missed the kirk, or they
get caught or wide, or they go for the wrong
run and I do just wonder if a horse like
(42:37):
Bell and the Patina could have been the play but
Burrier twelve. So it's an absolute minefield. But it's a
great race to have a cracket. And I see the
tem I've actually got. If you put fifty bucks on
I wish I win and it runs, what tops four
just does have to just do a run. Even Dan
Carter is going to have a bit one wish one win.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
I mean, the odds will come in because everyone's just
going to have a go at it, don't they, Because
why would you not.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
I don't think there'd be enough money in Zealand to
shorten that price up with how much to be bid
on here. But yeah, look, even if I wish I win,
one wish I one win, doesn't win, then you take
your bonus bit and you just lump that on positivity
to place in the corpork cup.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
God bless you're in the positive. Yeah, or even if
you're not greedy, it's going to be one hell of
a race. You're right, it's pretty tough with all the
barrier jaws and everything like that. I just saw Ie
and me. It's one two in a row and it's
paying seventeen dollars and four eighty at Barrier one.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (43:30):
But yeah, I'm really I really want, I wish I
want to win. I don't really follow these horses a
hell of a lot. I really enjoy watching Australian racing,
but I only the form and if I'm going to
watch a race like that's I want a key with
to win it. So I'm going to get into I
wish I win and just back the Kiwis at six
dollars fifty and does look good enough to win it
as well. So yeah, see what happens.
Speaker 1 (43:48):
Look, you know, if you're watching it on TV, look
at the crowd and people getting into what I was
telling when we were over there at Ramwick the other
day before the Grand Final, telling the Kiwis that were
there that there's going to be fifty thousand people here
in two weeks time. They're racing for twenty million dollars.
Able to have sent there going like what and yeah,
it's pretty crazy to think, you know, twenty million dollars
on the line, fifty thousand people. That's Eden Park at
(44:09):
a race day.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
It was like it was like a rugby game. It
was overwhelmed.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
It every wildly over kept walking, and I felt that
we were walking for hours. Stepson, two fifty's horses are
coming out.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
The national anthem's playing sweet carolines on everyone singing it.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
It was, it was really really fantastic, electric electric electric time.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Let's hear what people are saying in the comments.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Dylan, mate, it's great to have you with us.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
Thank you very much, good to be here, fellas for
having me.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
What have we got? Mate? We got some every when
I was out there.
Speaker 4 (44:43):
Naturally, Jolly Starr has cropped up quite a bit being
mentioned in the comments there. I wish I weren't as
a frequent one as well. There's a couple of questions
popping through a bit of discussion in there. Ryan has
our thoughts on Giga kick. We've had someone reply just
trap but touched.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
On down a little bit more. But it was that
Joel Beaty that commented just trash.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
It was LEVI so thank okay?
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Would what else forgot going on?
Speaker 4 (45:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (45:12):
I wish I win as me.
Speaker 4 (45:16):
Let's have a look back through.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Andrew Rickenson eight nineteen Trofictor is the way to go
occasually growing traffic.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
Warden So yeah, yeah, not a bad shout.
Speaker 4 (45:26):
Okay, I wish I went from Jolly Star, got Jolly
Star or traffic warden.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Luke a few a few Kiwi fans out there. What
do you think of Giga kick mate? Me?
Speaker 1 (45:39):
Uh yeah, I saw it there the other day when
I was at Ramwick and yeah, I think it was
only sickened up was it that day? But yeah it was.
It was a bit ordinary. But it's actually two from
two third up, so like they all know what they're
doing to get these printers ready for these races, right,
So yeah, I think like if you like it, then
why not you know what, why can't it win? But yeah,
I've always found a pretty tough horse to back and
(46:01):
I normally stay off it, so to probably pissing.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Yeah yeah, any comments on Instagram? I saw you're having
a look through there, mate, We got anything else from
the people? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:08):
Someone was asking, so if you add funds after betting
has started, do you buying a share at a different rate?
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Now?
Speaker 1 (46:14):
You can't. You can't add funds into the punters club
once we close the pot, so just like last year,
but you can continue to add money in. What I
was explaining is if you wanted to add more money
in than you need to update the amount that you
have got in there. And David o'learius is after seeing
Chris Waller's week in wrap up, they seem pretty confident
(46:35):
with Jolly Star. So that's me nice and someone Dan
Arnold says, redeem yourselves on the Blessed Bet this weekend. Please? Okay, mate?
What's the ROI on the Blessed Bet? Mate? Seven point three?
Speaker 3 (46:47):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Yeah, what Dan? We're up seven point three units, mate,
Just redeem yourself on the keyboard. You've got one hundred
dollars each week on the Blessed Bet. You would have
doubled your money. I thought we'd be up seven hundred bucks. Yeah,
but there's been nine weeks or eight weeks.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
Well, I've been fact was out fifteen dollar winners or
something every week. Like you can't get much better.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Oh, we'll change it at the son of underwe what's
a pig twenty one eight bucks? Yeah? Maybe twenty one?
Speaker 3 (47:17):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (47:17):
I thought we were units of profit. So we're only
up one hundred percent? No, yeah, but it's seven units.
Speaker 2 (47:23):
No, we're up if you've put one hundred dollars on.
My understanding is if you put one hundred dollars on
every week. You've won seven hundred and thirty dollars.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Profit each week A profit? Yeah, yeah, total profit. You
your money? Huh, I'm confused. You've won seven.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Hundred and thirty dollars if you put one hundred dollars
a week yep across since the start of the season.
That is profit, not including the money you put down.
There is money that you can spend on bits. Oh okay,
we're going bloody well with the blessed bit. There is
going to be one more to come. But before that,
what else of your lads got this weekend? We've got
the core Field Cup, your favorite race loop. I've thought
(47:59):
about it.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
I positivity smash it kills them thirty one carrying fifty kilos,
probably in the race a year too early. But don't
worry about it. Just don't worry about it. I think
we're gonna get a bit of rain. Won't mind the rain.
I'm on, I am feeling positive, and I think the
horse is named after BGP. It's one of the BGP values.
So I'm getting stuck into that. I spotted one that
(48:20):
I didn't mind down there at or Tucky. Oh yeah,
I nearly made this best bet, and it's not race one, Dan,
so you can give us that one, but it's in
race number six. It's out to four dollars sixty on
the odd Surgeon and it's a horse called Beal Beal's Bow. Now,
I note, Craig, I will pay the bills. Grills is
riding down there, and this horse was exceptional last start.
(48:42):
It's actually one three from six and if it comes
back to a good track down there at or Tucky
which I think it will, then it can win on
a good track. It's one at or Tucky before and
it's won three from five at the distance. I thought
four dollars sixty around this horse because there's a couple
of horses and like the Ugly Sister and whatnot that
are just going to be They're going to struggle on
(49:02):
this good track, so I wouldn't even be surprised to
see a couple of them get scratched. Our dangers are
tilted first up in Duncan Creek, but Bows both for
me looked like an exceptional bit in race number six
at all Tucky. So that's at two fifty seven, and
you know, going back to the King of the Punt,
I need to keep building up that ballance to be
able to get on the odyssey. So keep an eye
(49:24):
on me when two fifty seven hits, because I'll be
watching the screen leaning back watching Craig girls. Get this
one home. Damn mate, you got anything? Yeah, I've got
a couple.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
First of all, go to a horse that I had
as a black book that actually one last start at
fifteen dollars at Flemington, and I think it was the
day that there was a little bit of moisture around
as well, So there's a bit of chat that there's
about thirty or thirty five meals of rain that's coming
into Corefield, so we might get a soft track on Saturday,
which is ideal for this horse. Two Downe to Screet
(49:57):
Race four at Corefield three dollars forty. It's a bonus
back race as well. There is another horse in there,
Hurry Curry, which one really impressively last start as well,
but it's a bonus back race. So three dollars forty
max beit fifty bucks and you get fifty dollars in
bonus cash if it runs second, third, or fourth. I
think that is a good bit. The other one race
(50:19):
one at oh Tucky, which was the Goat's best bit
a couple of weeks ago, which I think was a
little bit unlucky, and that is Riskue Ruler. It's got
a good barrier, drawing in one seven dollars on the
odd searche What that was really unlucky?
Speaker 2 (50:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (50:38):
So who's riding because I see that Christell he's got
fractioned Nick Harry Gray, Harry Grace, he's his was he
fella or British Harry Grant? He plays for the Storm.
He's in the off season. Yeah, so shout out to Christell.
Poor guy atrection knee. Harry Grant could be a jockey,
Yeah he could. Yeah, he rides, he's yeah, he's come
over to New Zealands. He does right, yep. Yeah, he's
(51:01):
has just changed his last names. That a trick us.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
He's made his way up in the world. Yeah, goes
all right. Risque Ruler was bloody good. We're bloody unlucky
last star. So there's definitely worth a bet.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
And we know the hard with the form does stack
up always. Yeah, And who's winning the Corfield Cup for you? Dan?
I think when there's.
Speaker 3 (51:17):
Rain coming around, I like I do, I'm going to
have a bet on positivity, but I am invested in
the futures on Warmonger and the fact that the rain
is starting to come. I've already seen that it's been
back then as well. Was it sixteen bucks into thirteen
dollars or something already? With that rain coming, I think
there is going to be some more money that's going
(51:38):
to come for Warmonger, so I'll stick with him. I've
got a fair bit going on there, fifteen dollars into
twelve dollars now, so there's definitely been a bit of
money coming from Warmonger. His best rating run ever was
in the Queensland Derby in the wet so fifty three
and a half kilos mcdee. He loves to ride a
(51:59):
Kiwi bred horse, drawing sixteen but whatever that, those will
be my two bets in the race.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
Sick for it and I love it. Don't forget Quintessa
in race number eight at Corfield, especially with a bit
of rain, because the favorite in this is Skybird, and
I don't think it has performed on arts there and thereabouts,
on and off track, but I think you might find
that the ten dollars doesn't last for long with Quintessa
if the rain keeps coming. Obviously the weights probably against it.
(52:26):
People aren't going to like that, but we know that
she can perform in the wet. She's one third up
as well. Maybe we just forgive that last good quality
animal this. I'm probably going to take the King of
the Punt prize and have a good top four bet
on this at six point thirty.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
What are you going on SAMs Dute and race seven
as well.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Or haven't seen that? If it's not, I want it
in the dry, right, I don't want it in the
wet at.
Speaker 2 (52:51):
All, okay, so stick out of it for it rains.
We've got Positivity in the Corfield Cup, which we've discussed.
We've got pen Dragon and Agon and Race ten at
Corefield as well. We'll be down at the the winning
post bar, probably enjoying a beverage and watching these two go.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
We had any interest in either of those two in
this race ten just just before I quickly look at
that in all seriousness, I don't mind Zardozy in the
Corefield Cup. Oh yes, I'm with positivity. I want to
see positivity winning. But Zardozi doesn't mind a wheat track.
So that's where I'm going and racing number ten mate,
just jogua. Remember you're not saying a gone, are you.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
I'm not saying no. Well, Pendragon's paying sixty one backs
and Agon's paying eleven. Agon will probably run top four
as usual. But yeah two, a couple of kiwis going
at it. Yeah not for me, mate, yep, fair enough.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
It's a big step back in class for Aragon. And
this is another horse, just like Dragon Leap that always
gets me involved. I'd love to see him get back
to his class. And boy does he love a soft track.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
It doesn't often get them over in Australia, but when
he does, he seems to run well. So look, if
we get a soft track, he's only had seven starts
for three wins and two seconds.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
So if we get us track, I'm in. If we don't,
I'm out.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
I love Agon, But I got off a couple of
years ago when pre Defer beat a goon in the
is it what's the mile down there? The Group one
mile at Trentam Captain Cook Captain Cook group Peter pre
Defer got got its only Group one when and but
Agon just should have off off that Australian form and
I just thought I can't never ever do it again,
I'll be top four and Agon I'll ever go on
(54:25):
the go all.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Right, just never won on a good track, Agon, No
seventeen goes it though? Yeah, seventeen soft track. I'll have
a go good track, no, thank you? Right?
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Or Tucky Race nine, I like the profit surged out
to three doors forty. I had no run room last
start between Bourbon and Press at Madamata that we had
a good bed on and it looks like quite a
good horse, So I'd quite like that in all.
Speaker 1 (54:48):
Tucky Race nine. The profit the profit off, that's it, hopefully.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
Is that going to be after the competition or is
that during four forty one? That's during during I'll be
looking for a bit of.
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Profit on that one. It's perfect, absolute perfect, right, Les,
Let's get to the best bets. Let's get started, just
because somebody's asked that we need to redeem ourselves. Should
we get order, we'll get we'll get to it afterwards. Actually,
let's start with the harness halo. Dan, do you want
to rip into the harness halo, mate, and we'll kick
(55:18):
the harness ones from them?
Speaker 1 (55:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (55:20):
Absolutely, So the harness halo was gone with scan Man
and we've got to Addington race too. The Mantas thought
he was really nice each way. Hoping this it looks
to be a bit of drop in company and some
earlier assignments. This prep and the draw doesn't concern me
as he should get a good run through from the
second line early and he gets his chance here the
(55:42):
Mantis top two for the Blessed bet Boo So for
the Harness Halo two point four out of three dollars.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
Fantastic scam Man, great work right, I'll go Markam Markham
is going to Addington Race five Boris o'caine. He's turned
the corner and become a much more well rounded race
hourse with his manners improving out of sight third last
week in behind the Big Lebowski, which was Markham's best
bet that he got home for the Friday phillup and
wished me luckin was well held up around the last bin.
(56:10):
Message rop back in class this week and land Sam
Thornley and the Junior Drivers Championship race. That's a big
price according to marcam So get on board as Markham's
best bet. Race five Boris Ocaine at Addington.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
I'll take Gaso's and he's got a well named horse
here at Addington meeting eight, Race number six, triple G.
That's what he fills his car up with and what
some of these drivers fill their chariots up with as well.
This is a strong field with some very nice horses.
The key for him is being back to the mobile,
which will also be full of triple G. Back at
Addington and the nineteen eighty meters can fly the arm
(56:45):
and I'd say be he'll be going forward from seven. Yeah,
four runs back from Spelling, so should be ready to
strike lovely each way. Money on offer GASO was hot,
Let it burn baby, triple G and race number six.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
I'll go to Fitzi's and he's going to race number seven.
Moments like this opened it a crazy price which was
twenty one dollars now into eleven dollars, a crazy price
for how good she was last prep before her injury.
While she might need this first up run, the trainers
always have them ready and honorability. She'll give them something
(57:21):
to chase that is big. Overs twenty one dollars into
eleven dollars. I think the eleven dollars is probably about
right for this horse. But yeah, the twenty one dollars
early would have been Horny.
Speaker 1 (57:32):
Get up and Fetsy. I took a little bit at
fifteen when I saw it came through in the old
group chat. Therety could be some good moments.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
Right, Let's get onto the gallops and we'll go myself
and then Luke and then Dan. You pick up on
someone else's we'll round you out because you've got the
blessed bit, don't you. I'm going to Allislie race to Larnakai.
This horse was bloody, unlucky last start behind Ted's best
bit that day at Todong at my Akabo, got no
room until about the hundred meter mark and finished off
very well and behind them the start before that ran
(57:59):
fourth before Fate. Fresh Up just looks like a horse
that should be ready to go third up. Love's a
good track, Tony Pike, Vinnie Colgan, Love Ellerslie. So I'm
keen to have a crack, and I was. I think
it was at four point forty, and I see it's
coming to about three eighty or three sixty, which is
disappointing because I haven't had a bit yet, but I
do think it's worth a bit.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
The goat's kicking us off nice and early in race
number one, a horse called it loose change, and this
is a loose little bit he's found for us because
there's a twenty start maidener. But when the goat's hot,
oh he is hot, and he's got some goats cheese
for you. Goat's better in fact and race number one
and a bonus back race for those of you eligible
for promos. Loose change, get your loose change on. It
(58:36):
was a good run last start and can go one
better on Saturday. And I think the goat will be
kicking the king of the punt off. So what I
do like to see is you go up and you
ask him heaps of questions just before this race, so
hopefully he doesn't get his bit on and then we
can hold him back off the leaderboard. That's also my strategy.
Goat busy, The.
Speaker 3 (58:54):
Ted has gone to all the dead the dead head,
the taed has gone to Alasie.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
Race seven Twain.
Speaker 3 (59:03):
This well bred golding was an impressive winner at his
first two starts and a very brave third here when
he sat three wide after making two runs and working
hard throughout the race from a wide draw, and only
we can late placing behind Lubron who's come out and
won the group three sween Esteaks and kicked their heads
in there in one easily last Saturday. Frank theform good
(59:27):
draw on Saturday and gets very much informed. Sam Spratt
taking the ride how good Race seven and al Twain Ellaleslie.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
I'm at Raymers a horse called the Odyssey, knocking on
the door of two big runs in the last in
his last two starts and now up to twenty one
hundred meters where we find a very winnable race. Only
consumer will be right handed in how he lets down
at Ellesleie, but willing to have a go at four dollars.
Has to beat a couple of grand campaigners, but this
horse looks to have some upside. Look for a barn
(59:56):
storming finish from Courtney in the Odyssey. I'm on, I'm
on too nice one.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
Where you go mate, I'm going to Alsie. Race number eight,
Son of Man This is another horse that I do like.
I don't love it as much as Snazzy Tavvy, but
I do like it. And this horse loves Allislie as well.
It got me home a few weeks ago at a
big price. Gets a good draw to work with again
and hopefully improves of its last effort. It sticks to
(01:00:22):
a rating seventy five and gets the same weight thanks
to a two kilow clane. He's up against the bitterfield
this week, but I think he's good enough to go
on with a job. And we've taken it as the
blessed bet, but we've taken the top three option.
Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
So the blessed bet is Son of Sun meeting two
race number eight. Son of Son to run top three.
I believe what quote are we getting mate two point
seven out to three point five? Naughty? That'll get a
couple of units. That'll keep old mate happy in the
comments before. That's a that's a great boost, isn't it
two and a half units profit? Yeah? Ah gee, fie
(01:00:57):
me up.
Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
You've bet this horse so many timesmes where I haven't
even thought about it, and then it's come home when
you've been saying, oh, I think there's so much Son
that's going to do the job.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
So yeah, I'm sure this weekend two from two track
and this I just I think it likes O. I
don't know what like. It probably turns up to the
big smoke and goes, yeah, this is my place yeah, yeah, yeah,
back of the Biggie could be right.
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Good luck if you're having a crack at those this
week end. As always, no doubt after heading one from five,
we'll probably hit five from five this week.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
I think that's normally how it happens. We turn it around.
This looks like a really good top four gallop multi
all of these horses to run top four. I don't
know what that's paying, but Matt Daddy will quote it
up and you'll have a bit on it. But that
could be the way to play it. It's a bloody
good point. Actually, I have a look at that tonight. Yeah.
You can't do that for the King of the Punt,
but you can do it for yourself. Yes. Hey, do
we get a bit from Dylan over there? Dylan's dessert, Yeah,
(01:01:47):
Dell's what do you got mate? Deal's delight, He's gone shy.
He's on Johnny Star. You're jo John Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
Star at Hollyfield Caulifield. We got Caullifield this Saurday, which
is bloody excited. I'm looking forward to seeing you fellas
on Saturday. It's going to be a fantastic day. We'll
see everybody there at about one pm. No doubt you're
going to be spending all morning getting your bits ready. Dan.
Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
Looking forward to it, mate.
Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Fight up, can't wait. I'm looking forward to getting there
and just having a really good time. Like I mean,
obviously i'd love to win. Do I think I want
at one hundred to one shot? Maybe you're turn into
one shot, but I'm just I'm just interested in having
a really good time with people that are keen to punt,
have a good time in.

Screening some horses home.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):

and Luke. We'll give you the last word out of here.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
Mate. Just interested in having a good time. Couldn't say
any bit of myself. It's actually going to be so
good to get back at a room with you know,

a couple of special memories as the days always go
very quick when we have these events. But hopefully I

watch one visual one winning you know you send up
with you one wish you one winning? And what was
the other horse that he molted together? But I'm sure
there'll be some characters in the room. Good luck. If
you are having a crack this weekend, as always, make
sure you do it responsibly and we'll see you back
here to wrap it all up next Thursday at seven pm.
Thanks everybody,
