Are we sure The Wall is a masterpiece? Can Dylan legit sing well? Is McCartney actually a lazy songwriter? And what exactly is “Nixon-rock”…? These are just some of the hard-hitting questions two indie musician pals, Thin Lear (Matt) and Niagara Moon (Thomas), come in with every week, surprising each other with strange fixations, controversial opinions, and of course - songs to listen to together. Join them as they eloquently bicker over the last 90 years of recorded music history, finding the overrated, underrated, and everything weird in-between.
Thomas catches Matt during a brief reprieve from his May tour - they recount fun times from shows they've played thus far, while Matt buckles up for the remaining trip ahead. Thomas then asks if "On The Road Again" is truly the definitive touring song.
New York songwriter Charlie Kaplan joins today! Thomas leads with an argument over the creative merits of Mike Love - a somewhat less beloved member of The Beach Boys... Charlie rips into a reverent ode to the 1972 Live album of legendary soul artist Donny Hathaway, and what it says about the power of music. https://charliekaplan.bandcamp.com/

Adam goes equally ethereal as he explores the delicate art of songs that originate from poems. https://www.adamlytle.com/

For this very special installment of LMO, Thomas and Matt have yet another contest! They've both brought in 5 songs to share with the other person, with the question being - is the song they've brought in one that they enjoy, or dislike? How well do the boys know each other's taste after all this time? Whoever gets more points by the end DOESN'T have to binge Taylor Swift's discography for a future episode...
Music journalist Chris Ingalls (PopMatters) is back to help the boys close out the year! Thomas initiates with an examination of the artistic tightrope that is the grocery store playlist. Chris then pays tribute to a forgotten but wonderful Todd Rundgren album "A Cappella" - and yes, it's just as it sounds...

New Hampshire DIY indie-folkster Geoff Himsel joins the show today! After reminiscing about their time playing Portsmouth together, Thomas shares songs from artists at their various ...low points. Geoff then asks the group to really examine the three "Christian" albums from ol' Bob Dylan.

Music critic, historian, and fashionista Abby Devoe is back on the show! Thomas opens with an ode to perhaps classic rock's most "liminal" figure, Doug Yule of the Velvet Underground. Abby then delights and frightens the group with a selection of tunes ideal for blasting on a surround sound system - and confusing everyone else around...
Thin Lear's got a segment this week! Just in time for his microphone to break down... He opens with a list of songs written with Elvis Presley in mind, that ended up going to other cover artists or performed by their composer. Thomas then follows with some beloved indie songs he thinks should become karaoke staples.
