We see them living the dream, making money hand over fist, with very little trouble. But we know our business isn’t like that. Our business often wears Realtors down. It can destroy our friendships, and if we’re not careful, it can weaken and even destroy our families. What often starts out as a dream to build a life of flexibility and freedom, all too often ends in a life of loneliness and overwhelm...but it doesn’t have to be like this. Not for the Realtors who know what to do. Not for the Realtors who know what to look out for, and have the right skills and people in their corners. Don’t expect to hear ego-filled stories of those perfect Agents whose Instagram profiles are perfect. Don’t expect to hear the phrase ”Top Producer” tossed around endlessly. Don’t expect the stories of unobtainable success from the top Realtors in every market across North America. You’ll hear egoless and vulnerable stories of Realtors, Brokers, and Team Leaders who have achieved success on their own terms. For some, that means building a modest business with their family members. For others that means working exclusively with friends and past clients. While for others yet, it means scaling massive businesses for a variety of reasons, a variety of ways. The common theme here is that we are all balanced, we are all successful, and we are all on a beautiful journey with real estate sales as our vehicle of choice. Your host, Courtney Atkinson, has experienced most of what the real estate Gods can throw at an Agent. He’s been a Team Member, an Independent Agent, a Team Leader, and an owner of his own Independent Brokerage. Over the years Courtney has nearly failed so many times he’s lost count. As a result, he’s learned to fall in love with the journey, and he’s learned that the secret to DO-ing real estate at a high level is first BE-ing someone deserving of that kind of success. Courtney is happily married to the COO of the Atkinson Team & Real Estate Growth Solutions, Melanie Meier. Since their first son was born seven years ago, Courtney hasn’t missed breakfast or dinner with his family. He also hasn’t had to work an evening or weekend in the last five years, and has consistently taken 8-10 weeks off a year without stress. At this stage of Courtney’s life, after 13 years in business, he is continually growing his Team of 40+ Agents across many markets, while netting nearly a million dollars every year, working 10 or so hours a week. His other passion is coaching. Courtney owns Real Estate Growth Solutions where he supports Team Leaders with his One to One Coaching Program. He and his Team of 6 coaches also support Individual Agents with their growth through Group Coaching Programs, One to One Coaching Programs, and Online Courses.
