Gilda Radner was the very first person ever hired to appear on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. She was also one of the first celebrities who talked about, and fought her cancer diagnosis in the public eye, at a time when people just didn’t talk about such things...especially women. Unbeknownst to her, that courage and honesty helped create Gilda’s Club. A place where all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.
