Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario a little bit. It's up you all.
Maria Lopez joining me now the star of the new
season of The Bachelorette, Katie Thurston. How are you, Katie?
I'm good. How are you? I'm well, it's nice to
meet you. Um. Your season just kicked off. What was
it like for you seeing the first episode on TV?
Is it what you thought? Honestly, it was actually better
(00:21):
than I thought, you know, going through it, it's a
long night, and getting to watch it back, it's like,
that was fun, nice, nice. Oh, that's that's good that
you're happy with it. Did you have any hesitant hesitancy
about being the Bachelorette or did you jump at it
once off? I mean, it's a big decision that you
don't take lightly, so I definitely had to think about
it and talk to some friends and family before I
(00:41):
said yes, good, good. And would you think of the
first impressions of the guys? Yes, I mean they're great.
I was very impressed by a lot of them. So
the first night I was like, let's go, like, my husband,
is here, any anybody that stood out in particular, any
uh favorites. I'm mean, Carter of the Cat it's a
very obvious favorite for sure, I would imagine. So. Um,
(01:06):
Chris Harrison, of course is at his host. Former bachelorette
Tasha Adams and Caitlin Bristow took over. How do you
think the ladies did? They did amazing. It's so fun
to see the sisterhood of women supporting women, and I
think bach nation is really gonna enjoy seeing that banter
back and forth throughout the season. Did they give you
any advice? Was it sort of like a team effort
(01:27):
there or they just had to kind of keep their distance. Oh?
They were definitely involved and gave me a lot of
advice every single day because I needed it. I think
the biggest piece was, you know, letting go of control
because in that environment you do not have control. Yeah, no, exactly. Um,
what can you tease us with for episode two next week? Man?
(01:48):
Tears and laughter? Tears in laughter? Okay, wait wait, tears
from laughter actually probably as well. But had a mixed
bag of like sadness and happiness on it? Got it?
And where are you from? Originally? Katie Seattle, Washington, Okay,
born and raised there, still live there? Yeah? Nice? All right,
Well listen before I'll let you go. I want to
(02:10):
put you on the spot with some quick questions, quick answers. Okay,
oh gosh, what's your idea of a perfect date? Oh?
I love branch on a Sunday and then napping like
in the sun, Katie, That's what I'm talking about. But
that's like old people move right there. You go napping
in the sun to day drinking and then taking a nap.
(02:30):
Oh my god, you're so ready to get married if
that's your perfect date. Best piece of financial advice that
you can give being the churr banker, Oh, save your
money and buy a house, Katie. I like your style.
What TV show are you watching right now? The Bachelorette Duck? Okay?
(02:51):
What's your go to cocktail? Oh? Um, I like whiskey
on the rocks, Katie might kind of girl right there.
Who'd you pick myself? Good? Okay? Okay, you know you
should always choose yourself. And whoever is fortunate enough to
come along for the ride, than good for them. What
(03:11):
are your parents and family think about this whole adventure? Oh,
they're excited. They love watching and being so supportive and
this is just such a unique thing for them to
watch from the sideline good. Are you happy? I'm happy.
There's a little side there. I'm not gonna read two
much into that. We'll have to find out how happy
you are. You can catch Katie on her journey to
(03:32):
find love Monday nights on ABC. Thanks so much for
checking in, good luck, Thank you so much. With Mario
