Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Are you facing
a storm in life right now that's so huge, so overwhelming,

(00:24):
it's like a hurricane. It's like a hurricane that you
can't even fathom how you're going to come out of
this on the other side, if you have even a
tiny drop of faith, faith as small as a mustard seed.
Do you know what a mustard seed looks like? Look

(00:45):
it up, Google it. It's tiny. It's like the size
of the head of a pin. And yet when you
plant it in the garden, it grows tall, taller than
a sunflower. If you have faith, even that tiny it
can grow and grow and grow tall, and grow strong

(01:07):
and help you through whatever it is you're going through.
The time to prepare for a snowstorm and to get
gloves and mittens and boots is not after the first
flake falls. It's before the first flake falls. It's a
week or two before. And the time to develop your
faith is before the massive storms of life come rolling through.

(01:33):
You got to have the faith. Now, Hi, good evening,
Who is this Hello? This is Nicole tell me, tell
me what story is on your heart? What do you
want to share with us Nicole and the Delilah Show.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Well, last week my husband left. We've only been married
for eight months and just decided he couldn't be married anymore.
And I'm having a really hard time finding my faith.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
You're having a hard time finding your faith because a
jerk bagged out on a commitment. What does that have
to do with faith?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Well kind of, I mean, I'm just you know, we were.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Very Wait a second, Nicole, back up, is your husband human?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Do humans make really stupid choices and bad mistakes?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Right?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Does faith have anything to do with believing in humans
and human nature?

Speaker 2 (02:23):
No, it's just it's hard. I mean that he's just
being so cold and just very distant, and it just that,
I mean, if he would just talk to me or something,
I think it would be a lot easier. I miss him,
and it's hard. I mean, it's hard to get up
in the morning. It's hard to you know, to think

(02:46):
with the straight head all day long at the office.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
And it's hard to explain to your children, and it's
hard to hold your head up, and it's hard to
explain to people who were at your wedding just a
few months ago, and all of that birds right. And
trust me, I know, I know how embarrassing it is.
I know how foolish you feel. I know how heartbroken
you are. I know you just watched your dreams get
flushed down the toilet again. You said there's children, which

(03:10):
means you this isn't the first time you've been abandoned.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Krat that's my second marriage.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
But here's the beautiful thing. The God that you're blaming
for all of this, who really had nothing to do
with any of it, can heal your heart and give
you a hope and a future and set your feet
on solid ground and give you dignity and self respect
and help you hold your head up high, and can
heal your heart from missing this guy, and will help

(03:36):
your children through it. Hi, thank you for calling the
Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
This is Joni Delilah?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Hi, Joni, what can I do for you?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
You know?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I have been married for nineteen years to a wonderful man.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Good for you, congratulations, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
We've had our ups and our downs. He lost his
job and was out of work, but he was I mean,
actively trying for seven weeks to find a job, and
he did, and I work at a school and he has,
on top of his full time job, is looking at
a part time job just so that we can get
caught back up. But thanks to my mother, we didn't

(04:22):
get too far behind. And it's just been a wonderful
blessing to have the love and the support of not
only my mother and family, but of my husband, and
we're there for each other and it's it's just awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
So you're getting back on your feet after some trying times, yep.
If you could put into words, what's one of the
precious lessons or gifts that you have received through these
trials and tribulations. Obviously knowing that your honey is there
for you and your mom is there for you.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
But faith, faith, we know that you get through it
and we can look back and see where God had
his hand and everything all along.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
It's been an incredible journey.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Nicole, Thank you for calling tonight. Thank you for being
a part of our program. Tell me your story.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
Well, about nine months ago I had emailed you telling
you that I was in a bad state in my life.
Everything that I had wanted hadn't happened yet, and I
was thirty one and still living at home and hadn't
finished school, and hadn't met anyone and all of that,
and you took the time out to send me an
email back tell I.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Said, wait a second, right, I remember writing to you
because I remember feeling the same way when I was.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
Thirty exactly, And you told me that to believe that
God has a plan, and it installed that faceback in
me that I needed, And within probably two to three weeks,
I met who is now my fiance, and lost fifty
pounds since then. And I'm about a year away from

(06:17):
finishing school and finally moved out of my mother's house.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
So you're feeling gorgeous. You've got your strength back, you're
getting your education, and you got a man.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Life is looking pretty darn good, right.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
And it's all because you took five minutes out of
your time to email me back, to give me that
faate to think, Okay, someone's coming.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Well, you know what, if I hadn't been the one
to say it, God would have found another way to
tell you that, because that plan was in motion before
this earth was created.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
Well, you know, I believe it because He was definitely
meant for me. He's wonderful.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Lily.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
What can I do for you?

Speaker 4 (06:56):
You've done so much already. I have to tell you,
I've been through the worst two and a half years
any person could be going through, and you brought me
such hope and keep bringing me back to my faith
that I sometimes feel i'm losing that I had to

(07:19):
call and thank you.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Now.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
See, here's the secret that you don't realize that, no
matter what it is that you're going through, or whatever
mistakes you've made that are stealing your joy and making
you restless, I've made bigger mistakes.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Well it wasn't my mistake.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Okay, So you're struggling with life issues that have nothing
to do with you.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I'm struggling with life issues that have everything to do
with my foolishness.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
I can't even blame God or blame fate. I can
only blame myself.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Yeah. Well, see I lost someone very dear to me,
and I mean very dear, and and now I'm very sick.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
And you need a safe place to go.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Yeah, and sometimes you just you wonder, God, what are
you doing to me? You know, how much is one
person supposed to bear? And I realize that if I
keep my faith. It'll work out. And I absolutely adore you.
You're great.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Well, thank you, And can I just say this. I
heard somebody say one time, if God has led you
to it, he's going to get you through it. Yeah,
he will get you through it if you have faith
and nothing else. You need a mustard seed of faith
that whatever trials and tribulations you're facing, you're going to

(08:43):
come out on the other side a stronger person.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Oh thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah the
