Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, Monica, what is your favorite part about you? As
with the details. Where do I even start? Meg? First,
I love that it's a podcast made for women, by women,
and this show gets real about the issues women facing sports.
Like last season, I listened to experts talk about how
our hormones affect performance, and now I'm actually training with
my cycle instead of against it. And then there was

(00:23):
the episode that taught us how the wrong brawl can
significantly impact your training. I am never looking at my
sports braws the same way again after that one. I
am right there with you. You and I also got
to share our own love of fitness and training last
season as guests. But I feel like we've only scratched
the surface and that there's like still a whole lot
of science out there about the way that women train

(00:44):
and perform, and I just want to learn about it all,
all of it through conversations with researchers and other experts. Meg,
I hear your mama. I also want to hear from
even more women athletes about how they train as a
part of the team and how they never let the
obstacles in front of them slow their progress. Monica, That's
why you and I are here to tell everyone that
You A Sweat the Details is back for another season. Yes,

(01:08):
that is right. I'm Monica Jones. I'm a performance coach, boxer,
business owner, and you a athlete. And I'm Meg Bogs.
I'm a powerlifter, author, body positivity advocate and mother. And
this season, Monica and I are your new co host
of You A Sweat the Details, the collaboration from Under
Armour and I Heart Radio that's aimed to spotlight leading

(01:28):
voices in today's fitness industry with science focused conversations about
sport and women's bodies. I'm so excited to be hosting
season two with you Meg. This season, we're bringing listeners
more great conversations with trailblazers and experts who will help
us better understand the sciences sport, and we'll give us
the tools to work more efficiently with our bodies in
ways that will encourage lifelong fitness. Your lifestyle matters so much,

(01:52):
and oftentimes when you look on the internet and you
see these programs, it's very cookie cutter and it can
be discouraging when you try program that doesn't fit your lifestyle.
For example, are you a mom with two kids? Do
you have a job where you're traveling, you're consultant, and
you're traveling all the time. Are you working really early
mornings and really late nights, and all those aspects of

(02:14):
your lifestyle matters and how you show up when it
comes to taking care of yourself. So when you allow
your body your mind to quote unquote be like water
and that resists and flow with what comes at you,
and to adjust and to pivot and to shift, there's
so much power in that. You can actually control your
heart beat, your heart rate variability with the power of

(02:35):
breath work. It's life changing. Listen to Sweat the Details
