Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at Advocateslaw dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Lucas is on the phone today for a first date
follow up and he's getting ghosted by Ella. So we're
gonna see if we can figure out why she's ghosting
and when we call her in just a second. But first, Lucas,
how long has it been since you heard from Ella?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
It's been like a week week.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
So did you try contacting her after the date or
was that the last time you guys spoke.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
I did contact her after and I hadn't heard from her.

Speaker 5 (00:31):
There was no response. Can you tell us about the date?

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yeah? So, well the way we met though, we'll do
that at the office party and the company that I
currently work at met there and we spent that night
just hanging out talking about oh why are you're saying
everything and this stuff, and I asked her to get

(00:57):
coffee a few days after that, and then that we did,
and I found she just like, really easy to talk to,
really easy to get along with. I felt, you know,
I didn't feel like I had to try so hard
with her. She was really easy going and gorgeous. It's
funny time and yeah, and so then I didn't ask

(01:23):
her out again after.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
And I just never heard that you said you met
her at an office party. Could she be one of
your bosses that you just don't know as your boss?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I have no idea. I mean, like I I don't
even know if she works with a company. Well, she
said that she was a guest of someone at the party,
so that's all I know.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Was there anything that happened on the date that was
kind of awkward or weird that would make her maybe
not want to talk to you again? No, obviously you're lovely, Lucas.
This isn't you know that that licas.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Well? I mean, I do have a tendency sometimes when
I'm talking, I raised my voice a little without realizing,
speaking a little bit louder than usual. And okay, and
like sometimes I get a little excited when I talk her.
I guess when I get really happy, I sometimes I

(02:23):
don't realize the volume of my voice should be a
little lower.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
I can't control the volume of my voice. So you're
saying you yelled at her. She may not have realized
that was normal.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Oh oh god, I hope she didn't think I I
was the only at her for any reason I had.
I had no reason to yell at her. But if
I my voice was a little louder than usual than
I apologize.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Okay, Well, I mean that could be you know, maybe
she thought you. You know, some people are very uncomfortable
with loud people. Yeah, in general, that could have been it.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I think I'm still kind of suspect as to who
she was even at that party with going back to
like the other thing, because we don't know if it's
like one of her friends. Maybe her friends got a
crush on you, you know, like maybe you're just like
off limits or something.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Oh, I never thought of myself as off limits before
we start.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Time to start thinking of yourself that way, big boy. Well,
let's play a song come Back, and then we'll call
her and see if we can get her to tell
us why she's ghosting you and maybe get to another day. Okay, Okay,
I'm good, All right, plays song come Back, get your
first date follow up next, if you're just joining us
for the first date follow up.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
We've got lovely Lucas on the phone.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
He's getting ghosted by a woman named Ella, and he
doesn't know why. We're about to call her and see
if we can figure it out. But first, Lucas, why
don't you refresh everybody's memory on the situation with Ella.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
So I met Ella at a party, an office party
at a company that I work at. She was someone's
guests there, and we spend that whole night, you know,
talking to get to know each other. And then I
asked her to get coffee a few days later, and
we did. But then after that coffee just I never

(04:02):
hear from her again, even though I asked her if
she wanted to go again and nothing. And I thought
she was great. I thought she was beautiful and funny
and so sweet.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Let's find out why she's ghosting you? Ready to call her?

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:15):
All right, cool? Here we go. Hello, I may I
speak to Ella? Please?

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Speaking?

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Ella? How are you? My name is Jewbile host radio
show and it's called the Jebel Show. The whole show's here. Ella.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
My name is Nina.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Hi.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Hi, I'm Victoria. Yep, so there's three. Oh my goodness,
what's up? Hey?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I'm actually fan of you. Guys. Did I did I
win something?

Speaker 5 (04:47):
Or Ella?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
We got an email about you from somebody you went
on a date with. This is a first date follow up.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
I'm guessing you know what that is.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I do, I do, but I haven't been on that
many dates lately, so so I'm curious.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Well, his name is Lucas.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
I remember Lucas.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Okay, and Lucas emailed us because he said he really
liked you, but you've been ghosting him.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Can you tell us why?

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I didn't mean to ghost him. I have been a
little slow to respond though, I'm.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Sorry about that.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
I should have texted him back. So it's like a
it's a bit of a weird situation, and I wasn't.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I've been like confused as.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
To how to proceed. See it's even like hard for
me to like finish that sentence.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
You're making this real sketchy. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (05:44):
I met him at like a work party, but I
went with my dad to his work party, and my
dad is his ball us.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
So your dad's Lucas's boss.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, And does your dad have a rule you don't
you don't date the help.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah it's not bad, but it's but yeah, my dad
is kind of a horrid and he's very like all business.
It's like all he talks about he's I mean, I
wouldn't want to work for him. He's my dad, but
he's like a tough, tough guy. I don't know. I

(06:36):
kind of had figured it out earlier, but I didn't
say anything because we were having such a nice time.
And then I felt awkward about that, and then I
was just like it was like a half potato. I
didn't know what to do, so I should have texted back,
but it was like, how do you text that, like, Hey,
my dad's your boss.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
I feel like I feel.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Like that's going to get awkward or real quick. So
I wasn't sure quite how to how to put that
in text form.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
It seems like a lot a lot for a text
speaking of getting awkward real quick.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I mean, you listen to the show, so I'm assuming
that you forgot a part of this.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
What did I forget?

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Lucas is on the phone listening, and then this whole
time wasn't talk to you.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Hey, I did forget? Hey, Lucas, I apologize, you.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Know what I'm I'm it's understandable. I what are the
odds that I be interested in the boss's daughter?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
So so Mike your dad, huh yeah, what are the odds? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Yeah, well I know, but still no, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
I didn't think you were, and that's why I was
a bit at a loss for how to how to
tell you that. But no, I really enjoyed hanging out
with you too. It's just I should have said something
when I figured it out.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
But yeah, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Want to because I was having a nice time too.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
But then I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I mean, you you know how.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
He is so and I'm I'm.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Yeah, he's definitely a great at his job, great at
being a boss.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
I'm a very diplomatic answer, Lucas, I promise, I'm promised.
He's not in the room with me.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I had a great time with you, and I completely
understand now. But you know, I'm still open to going
on a second date you if you are. I really,
you know, enjoyed your company, no pun intended.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Yeah, I mean I I really had a good time
with you too. But I I am a little concerned
that it just might get really awkward. I don't want
anything to affect your job, not that nothing that it would,
but also, you know, understandably, you know, you want to,

(09:29):
you know, go out after a day at work and
like you know, talk about work, and I just I
feel like that could get really weird. And and also
you know, I don't want I don't want my dad
to like, look at nothing that he would, but I
just don't want to create like a weird situation for
you at work. And I don't want to create a weird,

(09:50):
you know, potential dating situation for for me or for
for us.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
I under yeah, I understand, I get that. You know,
if you one, I can speak to Mike, speak to
your dad about this and let him know that I
am interested in you and I we can still keep
things that work professional between me and him, and I
don't need to bring my work life up like into

(10:17):
my dating life with you. I'd rather not talk about
work uh while I'm out we're on the day with
you or anything like that, but I would like to
at least let him know son't feel like I'm doing
it behind his back.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
Ella, would you like to go on another day with
Lucas We'll pay for it.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I mean, yeah, yeah, sure, I mean yeah, if you really,
if you don't think it'll it'll be too awkward or tricky.
And I do think my dad would would appreciate that
if you're and honestly, if you're up for sitting down
with him and saying that then I definitely think we
should go on a second day.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
Yeah, it sounds like lovely. Lucas is a guy. I
just love it.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
For everybody listening, this is also a lesson. When a
man is into you, you will know this guy is
ready to go and talk to your dad about wanting
to go on a date. And if some dude's not
even texting you back, good point.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I will I will talk to them and yeah, I'm
definitely let's let's do it.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Sweet. Well, congratulations Lucas, you got another date. Love this
all right?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Thank you guys very much. I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
And thank you Ella.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Yeah, thank you. I'm glad that you that you've made
this happen.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
