Mario?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Nice to see you, see too? What's going on? I'm well,
I'm well. Gook you good. That makes one of us.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
I'm just a little over so late watching the Oscars
again and again. I'm just examining and judging and judging
and judging.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
You and I'm both as far as hungover. I was
actually drinking on the red carpet. That's how I was
able to get through it.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
But you do it.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm feeling good right now. Congrats you're in a new
movie with the legendary Rita Moreno, who I had the
pleasure of speaking with on the carpet. She looks amazing,
ninety three years old.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
I believe ninety two, ninety two. She doesn't mean maybe
she had a birthday.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Maybe she did rounding up.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Maybe maybe if I were her, I would She looks amazing.
I'll have what she's having.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Looks amazing, sharp as attack, sharp, witty, and I can
believe the energy. The project is called The Prank and
it's got pretty well premise, right.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
It's it's pretty wild.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
If I tell you, I have to kill you, but
you have to see it's it's like a you know,
I mean, it's like a horror dark comedy. You know,
it's like a it's kind of like an Alabama slammer,
like a little islandized tea.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
It's just like everything in the glass, right, but it works.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
It does like she's never been meaner Rita Marina has
never she never plays bad guys, and she's fantastic at it.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I can see that being the sassy Latina that she is.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Right fearless you play the school lunch lady I do.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Can I tell you something? I had something very special
with my school lunch ladies.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Did you get strip with your lunch? I did not
get no. No.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I'm so disrespectful that if they look like the like
the teachers that were having affairs with their students this,
then I probably would have.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
But they did not.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
They were like little, sweet old ladies that would bake
you perkis. So I was able to charm them in
seventh grade and I always got extra food and they
slid me vanilla. It's it's on the side you.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Know, you know the power of the lunch lady.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
And if you piss off the lunch lady, it's like
it's like pissing off the bartender.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
You're done, dumb dude, You're done. You're but a little,
A little goes a long way, a long way.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Fondness in my heart for lunch.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
You you got it. That's so Mario. You understand charisma.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
That's so true though, but also the exchange of power. Yes,
you got you knew who had the You gotta.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Know the case to the Kingdom, right right, You're exactly right.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
So congrats on that. I know you're a guest judge
on Hell's Kitchen with Gordon Ramsey. What kind of food
you get to try?

Speaker 1 (02:26):
You know what, if I tell you have to kill you?
It wasn't it was so good. I think I just cursed.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Sorry, Uh you know, I think I had a did
I have the I think it was the Sea Bass.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I want to say Sea Bass is like I thought
it was. It was. I thought it was uncool. I
think it's cool again, totally cool, right, I know, but
I I don't know. I don't know. Sometimes things are
on the menu too long ago.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Please, that's It's one of those you can kind of
you can kind of you don't appreciate it. After a while,
you take it for granted because a.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Lot of like, you know, women over fifty, you know,
great there they are.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Barely take it easy.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
How was Gordon? How was Gordon mean as shit? No,
I as a former waitress.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
You know that I was still working at a restaurant
Beverly Hills, Kate Madelini when I got the office. I
kept my job first season of the office because I
didn't know that I have been yelled at by so
many chefs. That's why I actually did Iron Chef America
a few years ago, and I was like, and I
did beat Bobby Flay. And my whole thing is like,
I'm here because I'm sure that I have been U Yeah,

(03:36):
I've had I've had a pork chop thrown at me
by a chef in New York, like when.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I worked there in the nineties.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
My god, maybe I deserved it, maybe I didn't. Luckily
I ducked so it didn't hit me. But it's I mean,
it's real, you know. I mean I think we had,
like I w I used to work at this place
that was being they were someone was, you know, like
they were trying to get reviewed. And the New York
Times reviewer at the time was Ruth Reichel, and she
would was notorious for dressing up in costumes or like disguises,

(04:04):
so people didn't know who she was, so she would
just get normal service. So anytime anybody had a wig,
the chef's like, with Chael, I'm like, that woman is eighty.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Five years old or like, you know, or she's sick.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
I mean, it's like I don't even know what to say,
Like that is not with Rachael. That's just a woman
in a wig, right, And so I get hit with
the pork chop.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
I mean almost these chefs need to chill.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I'll tell you what the stress is high the month
of this month, I should say, March, nineteen years since
the Office premier, Which what do you remember about that audition?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
And I was I actually initially auditioned for the part
of Jan I didn't get it, but Alison Jones was like,
I think you're right for the show. And then I
actually did not get the pilot, and then I ended
up replacing somebody after the pilot, and uh, you know,
whenever you replace somebody You're always like, I better not

(04:52):
be a douchebag.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah, no, no, I know, been live. Yeah it's yeah, no,
it's not fun.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
But it's not your fault obviously, you know, no, no, no,
I have to work out.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Absolutely absolutely, and I had, you know, I had, I
just I mean, it was the best nine years of
my life for sure.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
I met my man on the show. And he's a photographer,
Chris Hasten.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
You know, I mean we what Chris, of course you do.
Since I was like fifteen, Chris has been here with
her before. That's why I heard, he says, high I
put that on so I got to show and a guy.
And so if you watch the finale of the Office,
he's the photographer taking the pictures when they revealed Pam's
mural and then' he's actually dancing with Meredith at Dwight

(05:33):
Nachal's web Michael Scott and and Dwight dancing together during
the credits.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Yeah, he's the tall, red faced Wow.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
What a small world, I know.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
So if the if the trailer is a rocket, don't
come on up.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
I like that move right there. I'm sure you get
asked all the time about a possible reboot.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Or a movie.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yes, I mean, being that it's so successful on Netflix
and stuff, I'm surprised there hasn't been any sort of
spres no.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
There's been talk. There's been there's still a lot of talk.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
I don't know what's exactly happening, but I will say,
you know, we were the number one show streamed during
the joining COVID. People could not go to the real Office,
so they came to ours. That was psychology, which is
kind of wild, so it actually made people feel normal. Well.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I also think that people miss comedy where it's not
taken so serious you can push the envelope, because I don't.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Know if you could do The Office today, I know,
you know what I mean. So I think they miss
that sort of comedy.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
I think that's I think you're right, there's a sensitive
sensitivity level that's happening.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
And I just want you to know, like The Office was.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Always written with the intention of love, and actually the
joke was always on Michael Scott, not on the person
he was offending.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Sure, and I feel like that is life, Like.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
That is life, and I hope that we can get
back to that because I think the pendulum has swung
so far the other way that I feel like comedy
is just everybody's walking on eggshells and it blows.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I agree, what do you tell me wants? If you
don't know a Michael Scott, you might be a Michael Scott.
That's that's what Steve Carell said, Yeah, which so hilarious.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Now there's some people out there who think you're the
starfish on the current season of The Mass Singer.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
What oh so you are?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
What?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
That's good acting? That's good? What am I supposed to say?

Speaker 3 (07:10):
No?

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I was just I was on last season.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Long?

Speaker 2 (07:13):
How long have you been singing?

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I I don't. I don't really.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I mean like I've sung with Jane Lynch, like and
I used to have a comedy loungejack on the lampshades
no lamp shades. Yes, we did that for like twenty years.
It was like a dying loungejack. But I I that's
it's not my is not you? No?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Okay, no, okay.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
You've been on a tour of Midwest minor league baseball
stadiums lately.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I'm about to be again. Wow.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah. They do a lot of these like office nights,
and I'm throwing out the first pitch. I'm kind of
bowling in the sky. You guys, I'm pitching underhand, but
it gets.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
There, it gets there.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Gets fans are so great. I gotta tell you, Minor
league baseball is where it's at. I mean, I'm a
Phillies fan, you know, sorry for a million reasons because
I'm from there, but I also think like the Phillies.
The last few years, they've been.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
The biggest bunch of weirdos, and I love them all.
I love them all. They're fun.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah. So I've been doing a bunch of these baseball things,
and it's so if you see me, you know, please
come up and say hi.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Like I'm you know, I'm glad to hear about that
about the minor leagues because I'm going to my first
minor league game this summer, this certain minor league.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I forget which triple A do.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I forget which one it is, but they're carrying my tequila.
So I'm going out there on this big tequila knight
and throwing it out.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
They say, it's a really good time thrown out the first. Wow,
you're throwing out the first tequila.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I'm always throwing those.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Out, throwing back the first tu, That'll be awesome. You're
gonna have a great time. Ye are so wonderful and
it's such a family thing and it's it's bonkers.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
It's great.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
And when they do like office nights, like literally all
the crew is dressed like prison mic and they're like
literally pulling the tarp.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
They are so creative.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Like I think I was in Wisconsin last summer with
the tin caps and I got to I got to
use the it was like a machine that blasted out.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Instead of a T shirt.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Cannon, it was a broad cannon, so it was thrown
up like brought worst like the hot dogs. It was.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
It was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
It's appropriate for you for some reason. Seriously, it is.
It's a blast. It is a blast. That's cool. Yeah,
it is cool. Can't appreciate you coming in and hanging out.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
It's always nice catching up with you. Listen, everyone, make
sure you see the prank in theaters is Friday, starring
Kate and Rita Moreno.
