Stop from the beginning, Jonas Knocks.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You thought you knew me, You didn't know anything about me.
He's crazier than else. Wrecked that guy, Jonas Knocks you
heard men.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Pray in some darkness is lighting up your speakers to
establish an alibi for the day. From the tirag dot
com Fox Sports Radio Studios, here's Jonas Knocks. Yep, okay,
I'll reports.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You know. I know we're not supposed to root for
certain things to happen in the world of sports, not
supposed to play favorites, but I couldn't help myself watching
something over the last several hours play out, and we
will get into that for you coming up here and
just a couple of moments from now, Jonas Knox, Fox
Sports Radio. You can listen to this show as always
on the iHeartRadio app. You know you can find us

hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirac dot
com The way tire buying should be. I know, we're
not supposed to play favorites. We're not supposed to be
rooting for something to happen or somebody to win or
something like that. And look, I think we all try
our best because you know, you grew up fans of

(01:48):
certain teams. You know, that's how we all got started
in this. And everybody has their team they grew they
were a fan of that they grew up with. But like,
the more you get into this, like nobody wants to
hear a fan boy, you know. It's just like I
don't I don't care, like I want to, like, what
are your opinions, what are your thoughts? Make me think,
make me laugh, like, you know, make me ponder some things,

(02:10):
you know, kill some time while I'm waiting in the
carpool pick up line or whatever it is, Like just
you know, do that, don't be a fanboy. And so
I try not to have a rooting interest a lot
of the time. But I couldn't help myself. I was
rooting for the New York Knicks to win last night.
I was now, I didn't bet on the Knicks, because

(02:35):
had I bet on the Knicks, for sure they would
have lost. If you're on my recent run with gambling,
you know how that goes. But I was rooting for
the New York Knicks last night, and I'll tell you why,
because the Pacers winning was rewarding bad behavior. And that's

(02:56):
never a good thing. When when you're a parent, or
when you're a dog owner, or you just are are
sort of in control of how something behaves and operates,
and you've got to set the tone. You never want
to reward bad behavior. If your dog takes a crap

(03:20):
in the middle of the living room, do you give
them a treat afterwards? Like imagine that little baby puppy
walks into the living room and just lets it fly,
and you walk out and there's an apple fritter in

(03:40):
the middle of your carpet and it smells, and you're
thinking to yourself, you know what, how about a ribbi?
Let me reward you here, Come on out to the grill.
I'll cook it for you, put it on a plate,
cut it up for you. You know, like, hey, good job, buddy,
nice job, job, well done, Congratulations, here's your treat. Would

(04:02):
you do that? Probably not if you're a parent. Kid
gets out of line, talks back to you, throws a fit,
throws a tantrum. What do you do? Do you reward
them with the thing that they were wanting which caused
the tantrum. No, you let them know not acceptable, Take

(04:23):
some things away, Punish them whatever you see fit. The
Indiana Pacers exhibited bad behavior over the past few days,
and bad behavior in the sense that they complained and
cried and bitched and moaned about foul calls, foul call discrepancies,

(04:49):
Rick Carlile coming out after game one and making mention
of it but not really doing anything about it, and
then Rick Carlile coming out after game two and saying, well,
small mar good teams, we deserve a fair shot and
blop blah blah blah blah. Play the violins. Everybody's crying.
It's Indianapolis. Let's let's all panico. Greg Doyle asked a

(05:16):
weird question to Caitlin Clark Ooh, gotta punish him, gotta
take him off the beat. You can't cover Indiana fever.
Games anymore, and Caitlin Clark ooh, we got jobbed on
some calls. We're small marketing. It was such a bunch
of crap, all of it. And you see the way

(05:39):
that this whole thing was discussed, and ricka, dude, we
get it. There was a bad kickball penalty in the
first game or call in the first game. We get it,
got it understood. They screwed that up, all right, we
get it. The screen call on you know, Devincenzo and
him flopping, and we get it, bad call. I totally understood.

(06:04):
But then game two comes and Indiana's like, well, but
you called it a double dribble. Yeah, but it wasn't
a double dribble. So what did you want to be
rewarded with another wrong call? Just to make things right?
Got to make it good. And so they send over
like two thousand missed calls from game game two or
game one. You know, it was more like seventy eight.

(06:26):
Ble it's round up just for the sake of the take.
But you know, like the whole point is Indiana was rewarded.
And yeah, there were some questionable calls, goaltending calls, things
like that that happened last night. But Indiana was rewarded
and now they've won the game because I got news
for you. You know what I'd rather have than officials

(06:48):
on my side. I'd rather have healthy players. To be
honest with you, like if you were if you pulled
the Knicks aside and you said, hey, Tibbs Knicks fans,
you know, Spike Lee all the other newbies that have
crawled out of a manhole cover somewhere in downtown Manhattan
that are like, oh, we're Knicks fans too. It's like, okay,
where you've been got it? You were the same people

(07:09):
that wanted James Dole and fire. Okay, But like all
the newbies out there, the insta fans, Like if you
were to pull them aside and said, hey, would you
rather have a couple of calls go you're weigh in
a game or I don't know, like a healthy team,
Eleven out of ten guys would tell you I'd rather
have a healthy team. And they don't have that yet.

(07:32):
The team that's crying and complaining and bitching and moaning
is the Indiana Pacers, and they were rewarded last night.
And that's a shame because you rewarded bad behavior. So
if you want to try this on for size and
see how it works, go right ahead, like go to
social media. If you've got a baby puppy in the house,

(07:56):
let them take a dump right in the middle of
the carpet. Did you just buy brand new piano? Tell
your kid to leave a popsicle on it, and then
afterwards give them whatever they want shopping spree, doggy treats,
Ribbi snap, like, give them whatever they want, reward it,

(08:16):
go to social media, and then let everybody know how
that turns out. Because that's what happened last night. The
basketball gods rewarded bad behavior and the Indiana Pacers were
the recipient of it. And it's terrible. Jonas Knox here
Fox Sports Radio. You know, somebody just gets it. They
just get it. They just understand how this all works.

(08:39):
Like there's some people that just understand how this whole
thing works better than others. Like you could say whatever
you want about Jake Paul and Logan Paul. You could
say whatever you want about him. You can criticize the
Prime drink. You can talk about Jake Paul and who
he's fighting in these boxing events, and we'll go down
the Mike Tyson rabbit holes, the fight gets closer and
all that stuff. Like, you can mock the those guys

(09:01):
and you can criticize them all you want. You can
criticize the Kardashians if you want and say, well, I mean, listen,
it's say whatever you want about all these people that
a lot of people have problems with. But they get it.
And there's a reason why they've got the bank account
they do. There's a reason why they've got the notoriety,
and there's a reason why the billion word is attached

(09:24):
to a lot of them. Whether it's a makeup line,
a clothing store, an energy drink, a production company, a
YouTube channel, a podcast like whatever it is, a TV
show that's been going on for years and years and years.
Call it whatever you want, and maybe it's not your
cup of tea, but it works and they just get it.

(09:48):
And you know who's in that same category that just
gets it. The NFL just gets it, just understands it, like, yeah, listen,
you know it might seem like a lot and it
might be over the top, but we understand how this
game is played and it works. And so when you
see the reports come out yesterday and you see the

(10:11):
reports come out later on, and Mike Florio's kind of
done a deep dive into this where the NFL is now.
It seems like Netflix is going to get these Christmas
Day games coming up in December, waiting for the schedule
to come out this week to find out who it's
going to be, and you know, there's a bidding war.
It could be fifty one hundred million dollars to just
stream Netflix Christmas games and then maybe they'll only get

(10:35):
one game, and then the discussion becomes, yeah, but you
know they can opt out of these TV contracts they
have about four years early and then kind of reset
it all. You start to do the math and you
start to think about things and you go, okay, so
where can you watch the NFL Because it used to be,
i know, growing up out here in Los Angeles, it

(10:56):
used to be that you would watch the NFL on
CBS and on Fox. It was Channel two out here
and channel eleven to is CBS, eleven is Fox. But
wherever you are, things vary. But it used to be
to where like, yeah, you would get you know, games
on Channel two and Channel eleven. It would usually be
like the local teams that would play and for a

(11:17):
long time, it would probably be a Raider game because
there was no team in LA. But that used to
be out was done. And then of course you had
your Monday Night football and then Sunday Night football. People
forget there used to be Sunday Night football on TNT
back in the day, and they did a great job,
but that used to be how it was. And then
the NFL, as they got smarter and wiser and understood

(11:39):
their true value, realized, much like the Kardashians or the Palls,
why are we focusing on this one thing when we
can just branch out and do a bunch of others.
And they realized, yeah, we're gonna go ahead and take
this thing to another level. And so when you think
about Netflix, you go, well, what are the other places

(11:59):
you can see football or see things if you wanted
to watch them, Well, you probably watch them on TV.
Yeah they've still got that. Now you probably watch it
on different channels. Oh, they've got that, and you know
you could probably stream it. Yeah, which one Netflix? Yeah?
Coming soon? Okay, what about Amazon Prime? Already got it?

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Hmm.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Let me think of another app? Peacock Oh yeah, yeah
we did that. You did Yeah, did a playoff game.
As a matter of fact, you know the one where
it was so cold. Patrick Mahomes's helmet fell apart, people
lost a limbs because of frostbite. I mean that one.

(12:43):
They've just figured this whole thing out more so than
anybody else. And so when you look at what the
NFL has done and where we can watch it and
where we see it, I know that there's some people
who think, well, there's too much and you talk too
much football and there's two Okay, call it whatever you want.
But the NFL just gets it. They understand their value,

(13:07):
they understand their reach, and instead of settling for it
and just focusing on that one thing, they're trying different
ways and better ways to try and improve it and
be seen by more people. International games. We were going
to London, let's go to Brazil, let's go to Spain.
Maybe we'll open up a league super Bowl here, draft

(13:29):
on location. All of that. They figured it out. They
just get it, and we applaud them for it. Jonas
Knox here on Fox Sports Radio, get me on Twitter
at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on Twitter.
So we are going to have the usuals coming up
later on We do have another edition of Do You Care.
We've also got the Scraps. It's a two hour extravaganza

(13:49):
grab ass, shenanigans, insulting tweets, all the fun stuff you've
known to appreciate and expect here on this show every
single Saturday. We do it all live from the tire
Raq dot com studios. Coming up next year, though, somebody
in the NFL not waiting around, all right, not waiting around,
not playing games, And we've got the proof right here

(14:11):
on FSR.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
We don't need to bring Jonas in.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
The NBA playoffs are here.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Let's go follow us on social media for reactions, another on.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Right Down articles, and more by the game by game.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Hey, I'm Doug Gottlieb. The podcast is called All Ball.
We usually talk all basketball all the time, but it's
more about the stories about what made these people love
their sport and all the interesting interactions along the way.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
We talked to.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Coaches, we talked to players, We tell you stories. You
download it, you listen to it.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
I think you like it.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Listen to All Ball with Doug Gottlieb on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Jonas Knox Fox
Sports Radio coming up in we'll call it a little
over ten minutes from now from the tire rac dot
Com studios. I mean, if we're gonna be honest about something,

(15:24):
if we're gonna be truthful about something, and we're gonna
actually tell the one actual story of some things a
coach in the NFL might have, might have given you
a peek into the future of something that I'm sure
will be a major, major topic of discussion that'll be
happening here a little over ten minutes from now from

(15:46):
these tire rac dot Com studios. So get ready for that.
If you're into controversy and you're into some people being
outraged by certain things, it's coming and we'll talk about
that again a little over ten minutes from now. So
when you get older, like as you uh, you know
you just started, like you get past your teens, like
when you date in high school or like right after

(16:09):
high school, a lot of it's like games, you know,
like you don't want to even when like you're a
little kid, like you got to crush on somebody, you
throw paper balls at him or paper wads at them,
and you you know, just kind of mess around with
them and flirt and tease and do all these things.
A lot of it's just games. It's just games. Get
to high school, there's little games that you play. Get

(16:31):
out of high school, little games that you play. Oh,
I don't listen. I don't. I don't want to DM
them too much because I don't want to show that
I'm desperate, you know, like all these little games. And
then just like the older you get, the more you go,
are we doing this or what? Like, just like you
don't play games like you just over the games, you
just like like why waste the time? Like is this happening?

(16:54):
Or is it not happening? Are you not interested?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Cool?

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Moving on? You know, and say like over the phone sales,
they call it smiling and dialing. They tell you smile
and dial. You're gonna get told no a lot. Just
smile and dial. Don't take it personally, don't get caught
up in it. Just smile and dial. And so I remember,
it got to a certain point to where when I
would call people doing telemarketing, like I don't even know

(17:18):
if they got no or do not call me before
they hurt a dial tone. It was like oh no, click,
that's it done, moving on, not here to play games.
I get it. I understand where this is going. We're good,
no offense, none taken onto bigger and better things. Hang
up the phone, dial the next number, Smile and dial.

(17:40):
Stop playing games? What are we doing it for? And
in the NFL, somebody apparently believes that same thing. And
that's somebody is Matt Eberflus, the head coach of the
Chicago Bears, just not into playing games because they didn't
even need to see Kayleb Williams complete a full practice,
I don't think. At rookie mini camp in Chicago yesterday

(18:03):
before Maddie Reflues of the Bears announced that Caleb Williams
is his starting quarterback, you.

Speaker 6 (18:11):
Can really tell that he's comfortable with himself in his
own skin, and he is who he is. His personality starts,
you know, in his light comes out from the inside.
How you can certainly feel that energy. He's a one
plus one Eagles street guy, you know. So he's an enhancer.
He's the guy that brings out the best in people.
And you can certainly feel that within five minutes of beating.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
And so he's going to be QB one. That's it. Done. Deal. Now,
there's some people out there that would say, well, he's
got to earn it, But what are we doing here?
You know, football is supposed to be a meritocracy. He's
supposed he's got to earn this, all right, best guy
for the Jet dude, can we let's stop. That's cool

(18:53):
and that's cute and that's fun, But that's not true
anywhere outside of San Francisco. Okay, Like in San Francisco,
that's true. How do we know that? Because even if
your team trades away three first round picks to move
up to draft you you could get replaced by the

(19:15):
guy taking last in the draft. All right, Like that
is a real thing in San Francisco. That's a real thing.
Right in New England years and years and years ago,
that was a real thing where Drew Bledsoe got a
hundred million dollar contract and Bill Belichick was like, yeah,
but I would rather have Tom Brady. So, like, those
are real things in a lot of other places, like
you know, everywhere else, those aren't real things. And so

(19:38):
this idea that well, you've got to earn it, like
you know, the Commanders came out and said, oh well,
you know, Jayden Daniels was like, well, I mean as
soon as I'm ready to play, I'll play. You know,
That's what I was told. You know, girod Mayo was
talking about quarterback competition and all this stuff. The Bears
identified Caleb Williams months and months and months ago that
he was going to be their next quarterback. It was done.

(20:01):
It wasn't like when the season ended and they knew
they had the number one pick, but they still had
Justin Fields and then finally they traded away. It wasn't like,
right before they traded away Justin Fields, they were like,
you know what, we think we're gonna take Caleb Williams.
Like they had been doing their due diligence and researching
and talking with people for months. When it became evident

(20:24):
that they were going to be picking number one overall
because the Carolina Panthers were a bag of crap last
year and the Bears had their pick, it was over done. Deal.
That was a wrap. Caleb Williams was going to go
to Chicago. All the speculation, all the stuff that came
out before the draft was all garbage. He was going

(20:46):
to be the quarterback in Chicago and he was going
to be the starter. It's been known for months, like
this is like nothing new, And so when they come
out yesterday and go, yeah, he's the starter, like what
do we It's like, what do you like? Do you
want him to like play games? Like, ah, we don't.
We don't want to act too desperate, you know, we

(21:08):
do like do you want to like go back in
time and play little games or do you just want
to get to what we're getting to? Who's your starting quarterback?
Kayler Williams. Cool, We're good like like that. This is
the way that this whole thing was going to work
out anyways. This is a way that this was going
to go. So this idea that like, well you know,

(21:29):
I mean they're they're kind of giving him a lot
like he's basically been. You know, they didn't interview any
other quarterback. They didn't, Yeah, because they knew who they wanted.
So what's the problem with that, Well, he was the
only quarterback they hosted for a visit. There's all these
other quarterbacks and these are elite prospects, shouldn't you like No, listen,
they went to some bro days, they talked to some people,
but yeah, that was their only visit. They got to

(21:52):
Hallis Hall in Chicago. Yeah, he didn't want to give
anybody else some medicals because they all knew he was
going to be the guy. So I kind of appreciate
the fact that they're like, all right, let's just get
down to it. What do we I mean, what are
we doing here, Let's let's get straight to it. Let's
stop farting around. He's going to be the quarterback. He's
gonna be QB one, that's gonna be our guy. And

(22:13):
moving forward, we're just gonna go with that. And if
anybody wants to push back on it, and yes, maybe
there's some growing pains, maybe there's gonna be it's it's fine,
and we get it. Different people have different philosophies and
different strategies. Green Bay likes to let people wait and
let people sit, and you know what, hard to argue
with their success. But the Bears are like, look, we're

(22:36):
not doing that, all right, Like we think he's the
guy and we're just gonna go all in with him.
We've surrounded him with a bunch of talent and if
it doesn't work out, then everybody gets fired. Like it's
just it's pretty simple, like, hey, you know, we believe
this is going to be the guy that that's going
to take us to another level, and if it doesn't
work out with all, we all get fired. But you

(22:57):
know what, we're good with our pick, good with our choice.
In gambling, there's a term called being on the right
side of it, to where if after the bet is
done and placed and if you lose, you still feel
like you made the right pick, then you're more comfortable
with it as opposed to regretting the move or this

(23:18):
and that. Like if you play fantasy football and you're
deciding on which player to start, sometimes you'll go back
and forth and at the very last minute you'll put
somebody in and then you'll lose because that guy will
have a down game and the person you sat on
the bench play their ass off and score two touchdowns
and i'd like, but like. And then there's other times

(23:39):
where you put somebody in the game, maybe they got hurt, whatever,
but afterwards you go, I made the right pick. It
was a fluky game, weird things happen, but I know
that I made the right pick. I was on the
right side of it. And the Bears are banking on
the fact that they're on the right side of it,
So why play games. He's going to be our guy,
and if it doesn't work, everybody gets fired. Easy, simple,

(24:01):
quick solution. There's your answer to Jonas Knox here on
Fox Sports Radio and you can find the show as
always on the iHeartRadio app. So from that over to this,
it is Martin Weiss with the latest in the world
of sports.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Martin, Thanks Jonahs.

Speaker 7 (24:17):
The Patriots officially announced Elligot Wolf as executive vice president
of Player Personnel, which is a fancy way for saying
general manager. He's going to be overseeing the fifty three
man roster and the salary cap.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
That's per Adam Schefter. You were just talking about the.

Speaker 7 (24:31):
Bears, right rookie minicamp, well Is rom Adnze did not
participate in day two of practice. He has a straight hamstring.
The team says its absence purely precautionary. The Buffalo bills
about it. Lacrosse players had Williams to participate in their
rookie minicamp. He was in the All Pro and MVP
in the Pro Lacrosse League in twenty twenty. Jarvis Landry,

(24:52):
you've heard that day before. Former LSU and Cleveland Brown
Star he's at Jaguar rookie Mini Caamp not a rookie though.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
Landry a former pro bowler.

Speaker 7 (25:00):
He had a down year in twenty twenty two didn't
play in twenty twenty three, so he's starting all over
and trying to make the team. Game four of the
Rangers and the Hurricanes puck drops at seven pm Eastern
New York with a three to zero lead. Game two
ten pm Eastern for the Stars in the Avalanche. That
series tide one a piece. Two game threes in the
NBA today, both series tied up one apiece. The Oklahoma

(25:22):
City Thunder play at the Dallas Mavericks that tips off
three thirty Eastern. Luka doncis listed as a game time decision.
With his various injuries. I'll go ahead and say it.
I'd be shocked if he didn't play. Boston Celtics at
the Cleveland Cavaliers eight thirty Eastern. Kristaps porzingis still out
for Boston for about another week or so. Jared Allen
a game time decision. He's missed the last few with

(25:43):
some bad ribs. Jonas back to you.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Thanks Martin Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. By
the way, coming up in about fifteen minutes from now
from the tire rack dot Com studios, we are going
to have another edition of Do You Care, which basically
involves a bunch of stories that have been big deals
throughout the world of sports throughout the past several days,
and we're going to tell you whether or not they
were or they weren't. So that'll be happening, honest feedback

(26:07):
on content that you've been force fed over the past
several days. That is yours fifteen minutes from now here
on FSR SO. Dan Quinn, the new head coach of
the Washington Commander, has been kind of an interesting offseason
for Washington. You know, they've got a new owner. An
interview with Ben Johnson, the OC for the Lions, didn't

(26:28):
go well. He canceled at midflight, and you know it
comes out afterwards, well, you know, too many basketball people there,
kind of weird how they're doing things. They took quarterbacks
to Top Golf to try and get them prepared for
the draft. Jaden Daniels and his agent apparently weren't happy
with that. Let mean, look, let me just say this,

(26:50):
I'm not good at golf at all. Like I'm not
even good at Golden Tea anymore, which is which is
a damn shame because I used to light it up
like I'm not even good at that mini putt, questionable
at best. And that's why you know, I drink when
I play golf, because at least I got an excuse.
It's like, okay, you know, what are you working on
over there? Like even if I'm not drinking, I'll say

(27:12):
that I am, just so I have an excuse. So listen,
top golf. All that stuff. Been just kind of an
interesting offseason for the Washington Commanders, and so Dan Quinn
met with the media today and like, you know, like
nothing really noteworthy as far as a SoundBite or a
quote or anything like that, except for the fact that
he was wearing a shirt that had the Washington Commander's
w but it had some feathers coming off the w

(27:40):
which appeared to be the same feathers that they used
in a previous logo that they were forced to change
and move away from because people found it defensive. And
I don't know, the fact that the head coach popped
up with those feathers next to the new logo kind

(28:04):
of makes you wonder if we're going down the road
of well, you know, now that some time has passed
and the previous owner is gone, maybe people would be
more accepting to this. And maybe don't be surprised if
more stories come out about how the name previous name
that started with an R, that maybe some people didn't

(28:28):
find it as offensive as maybe others did, and maybe
some people that happened to be I don't know, Native
American didn't find it all that offensive. Again, I'm not
saying that's what's gonna happen, but don't be surprised if
it does, because it's not an accident that Dan Quinn
would have that shirt on paying homage to the previous

(28:53):
look Because if it was so offensive, and if it
was so no, no, can we an't go there, don't
even approach it. Why would he even dance around it
at all? Like why have anything that would look back
at it? And if we're gonna be honest and if
we're gonna like be fully transparent here, let's just between
you and I. Let's just have a real conversation here.

(29:14):
The name Commanders sucks. It just does. There were so
many other names they could have gone with, Like the
Utah hockey team is trying to figure out what name
they want to go with. You know, like there's a
bunch of these, like uh names that have been thrown out,
like the Utah Blizzards and all the other like all

(29:35):
the other craft that come out, like the the Utah
Dittods or the Utah Snowballs or like whatever, like the
Utah snow or the Frosties or whatever they're called, like
the Utah Mormons, like whatever they're coming out with, Like
they're coming out with all these different names for the
Utah hockey team. Whatever you do, don't do what the
Washington football team did. Because the Washington football team that

(29:59):
name was better than this one. And there's been some discussions.
They've hinted around it, they've kind of thrown it out
there and been like, yeah, what would be the feedback
on this? And I'm telling you, I believe there are
a lot more people then you want to admit that

(30:21):
weren't all that outraged by the previous name, to the
point to where this may be become a discussion again
sometime soon. I'm just saying right now, I don't care
either way, because I've stated my case that the Washington
Commanders is an awful name. In fact, we have so

(30:42):
much fun with the name on Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe that I will slip up when I'm
doing other shows and call it the Commandos because that's
just sort of what we call it, because it's just
such a weird name, Like all of it's weird. I mean,
there were some other stuff that was at like redtails,
red hogs, like all the other things, which just that
sounds perverted. But the point is they've come up with
some different ideas before they settled on Commanders, and it

(31:05):
just kind of lacks. So the fact that their head
coach pops up with the shirt that's got feathers from
the previous name on it, I'm just telling you, if
you got one of those old jerseys or old hats
that's got that old logo on it, don't be surprised
if that makes a return sometime. I'm just saying, because

(31:27):
it's not an accident that the coach is wearing that
when talking with the media. It's not an accident. Jonas
Knox here Fox Sports Radio, get me on Twitter at
the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Knox on Twitter, and

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up top of next
hour about fifteen minutes from now from the tire Rack
dot com studios. We're going to tell you how somebody
in the NBA. Actually I think this applies to a
lot of places in sports, but there's somebody in sports
who's got a really, really bad habit. I'm talking a

(32:38):
real bad habit, and it's a bad habit you can
relate to. I will explain coming up here a little
over fifteen minutes from now on FSR. A reminder before
we get to another edition of do You Care, though,
that shortly after the show, our podcast will be going up,
so if you've missed any of today's show, including how
somebody in sports took a crap on your carpet and

(32:59):
was rewarded for it. Just check out the podcast search
Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast. Be sure
to also follow, rate and review the pod. Again, just
search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and
you will see this show posted right after we get
off the air.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
DMS your reports.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Let's get kinky.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Yeah? For that, we turn it in to our executive
producer for the day, Shay Morgan. Guard Shay, what's happening?
Welcome into the show. Is this your first time doing
the show? By the way, how are we doing, Jonas? Yes,
it is my first time doing this show. Super exciting, man,
I'm having a lot of fun. Well, listen, welcome in.
We run a professional broadcast here, all right, So we're
not trying to no shenanigans, no bs. We're all professionals here,

(33:54):
so let's keep the grab ass to a minimum. Okay, Hi,
you stuff here? Sports radio on a Saturday. All right,
so what do we got?

Speaker 8 (34:00):
So we got the NBA suspended Bucks guard Patrick Beverley
for four games without pay for throwing a basketball at
fans multiple times.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Do you care?

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Yeah, I do, because I think it's hilarious. This is fascinating.
So you want to set a precedent, because I can't
recall the last time we've seen an NBA player throws
something at a fan, Like, off the top of my head,
I cannot recall the last time we saw that. Now,
you know the Malice of the Palace stuff and all that,
and that escalated, but I can't remember the last time

(34:30):
we saw some player in the NBA throw something at
a fan and do it twice, literally hit a woman
in the side of the head, got the ball back,
and tried to throw it again, except the person they
threw it at caught it, and then afterwards wouldn't talk
to somebody if they didn't subscribe to his podcast. And

(34:51):
Adam Silver in the NBA thought four games would suffice.
And I thought at the time that Pat Beverly, like
that was an act to somebody who's just done playing,
like maybe he's doing well enough with this podcast that
he doesn't really need to play anymore. He's made a
bunch of money in his career, He's bounced around the
league a bunch of times. Maybe he's just sick of
the whole thing and just wants to go retire and

(35:13):
go focus on his media career, which more power to him,
But like that was an act of somebody that felt like,
I don't care what happens moving forward. And he came
out and apologized and was apologetic afterwards, and he called
the woman that he insulted from ESPN. But ESPN gave
him a more harsh punishment than the NBA did, where
they banned him from appearing on any of their shows

(35:35):
and platforms permanently. The NBA is like, nah, four games
is good. So then if you're a player who's hearing
it from fans like we've seen throughout the playoffs and
we see all the time. If you're Russell Westbrook and
you see what Pat Beverly, who's got previous violations to
his name, got for throwing a fan and throwing a

(35:56):
ball at a fan, are you thinking to yourself, you
know what, for four games, this is worth it. That
guy won't shut his mouth. Let me go ahead and
fire this Spaulding at the side of his dome and
see what happens. It is wild that that was their
conclusion and another miss by the NBA.

Speaker 8 (36:10):
Next, so Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell has earned the first
snap over quarterback Gardner Minshew. Do you care?

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Yeah, I do kind of care. Let me tell you why,
Gardner Minshew love you all right, and you could call
me a Gardner Minshew fanboy all you want. But Gardner
Minshew is a much better quarterback than anybody gives them
credit for. I know the Raiders were devastated that Michael
Pennox Junior went to Atlanta and they were planning on
drafting him. I get all that, but Gardner Minshew deserves
a shot. Okay, and no slide against Aidan O'Connell. He

(36:41):
played good football at times. But Gardner Minshew has got
the personality and he's got the style of play that
is perfect for Las Vegas. All right. The guy walks
around and cut off jeene shorts and they're not even
like designer jean shorts. They're like a pair of old
blue jeans that he cuts like well above his knee
caps and walks around them. He's got the mustache. The
guy's got the hair. He drove around in an RV

(37:04):
way before Jim Harbad did when he got to the
Chargers to take over their coaching job. Gardner Minshew deserves
a shot, and I hope he gets it. Next.

Speaker 8 (37:13):
Lakers star Lebron James shot back at FS one analyst
Colin Coward on X over his backwards hat bias.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Do you care? No, I don't care, Like I find it.
Tell how many people take that serious and get bothered
by it? I think like Scott Van Pelt also took
a shot at at Cowhard as well too, like do
you do you not get the joke? Like do you
not get the theatrics? Like do you not understand that

(37:41):
we're having fun here? Like it's not that big of
a deal, Like it really isn't that big of a deal.
But apparently people don't like that. People get outraged, They
get upset, all right, Like if he doesn't like the
people wear backwards hats, So what he was bleeding into
it and playing into it. It's part of this. It's
why I tell people all the time. Majority of social

(38:03):
media and things like that is professional wrestling, and the
people that take it way too serious. They're the problem.

Speaker 8 (38:09):
Next, the Sun's hired former Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer.
Do you care?

Speaker 2 (38:14):
No, I don't care, because listen, get in line. Mike
Budenholzer is the next name that gets another head coaching
job in the NBA. I think it's more fascinating why
anybody wants to coach in the NBA. What a miserable,
miserable existence. Just a miserable job. Adrian Griffin, you're thirty
and thirteen, second best record in the NBA. Fired, Okay,

(38:40):
Darvin Ham just took your team to the Western Conference finals,
lost to the eventual NBA champion. You won this rinky
dink in season tournament and then you got your team
back to the playoffs again. Fired. Oh okay, that's warranted.
Mike Budenholdzer just won a title with Milwaukee. Fired. It's like,

(39:02):
why would anybody want this job? Why would anybody want
to be a coach? I used to think being an official,
like being a referee in the NFL, was the worst
job in the world. I got to be honest with you,
I think NBA head coach might be worse because if
you win, it's because of the talent you have. If
you lose, it's because you didn't get enough out of

(39:23):
the talent. Like, it's weird how that works. Like it's
your fault when you lose, but it's their fault when
they win. It's weird how that works. But apparently Mike
Budenholzer likes the fact that he's going to make ten
million dollars a year and whatever the buyout is is
what it is. Next.

Speaker 8 (39:37):
Indiana Fever have added eleven TV markets across five states
for Calon Clark's rookie season. Do you care?

Speaker 2 (39:45):
No, I don't like. I'm just I don't care. Look,
it's going to be fun to watch. I'll watch, you know,
like this and like the whole, like the covered Like
there's so many people that have their hands in on this,
like get their hands like on the polls. We you
know what this is going to be like. And here's
my hot take on Caitlin Clark. I don't have one.

(40:05):
I mean, either she can play or she can't. She
clearly drives ratings and revenue and it'll be fun to watch.
But this idea that people got to break down every
single aspect of it, and God forbid, somebody make like
a weird heart gesture at a press conference and have
some awkward back and forth. You're not allowed to cover
this team anymore. Just the whole thing is nauseating. But

(40:27):
I'll watch it. We'll be entertained, and we'll discuss if
anything pertinent happens next.

Speaker 8 (40:31):
Joe Burrow states his wrist injury is the most difficult
he's had to deal with, but he's in a good spot.
Do you care?

Speaker 2 (40:37):
I do care, because if you listen to Joe Burrow,
I love it it kind of I don't look. If
I'm a Bengals fan, I hear his comments and I go,
that doesn't seem like the most optimistic outlook on things.
That seems like that could be a problem moving forward.
So Joe Burrow, I wish him the best. He's a
great quarterback, but I don't know how this thing's going
to play out next.

Speaker 8 (40:59):
The newest Planner of the Apes hits theaters this past week.

Speaker 4 (41:01):
Do you care?

Speaker 2 (41:02):
No, I don't care. I'm tired of it. There's too
many of these movies. You can't keep track of them.
It's like Godzilla, King Kong, It's like all these other
Star Wars, Fast and the furious. Why don't you just
make one or two tops and let everybody else find
their group with something else. I'm tired of it. We've
identified a really bad habit in the world of sports.
We're gonna get to that coming up here in just

(41:23):
a couple of moments from now. Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio.
You can find us on the iHeartRadio app. You can
find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country.

Tire rac dot com the way tire buying should be.
Can we can we bring this conversation on the air, please,
Chris and Shaye, we were talking about this briefly during

(42:06):
the break. How many different versions of Planet of the
Apes are there? There's got to be at least four. God,
I mean, there's got like I'm thinking, at least for
just from my recollection, do you guys have the same math?
Do you guys have the same count that I do?
When it comes to Planet of the Apes? Am I crazy?

(42:31):
Because it feels like that's where we're at when it
comes to that movie, And that's where we're at when
it comes to just sort of the fatigue and overall
just conversation and movie theaters and moviegoers and what they
want to watch, whether it's fast and furious and everything
else to go along with it. That's where it feels
like we're at when it comes to Planet of the

(42:53):
Apes and all the other fun stuff with it. So
just in looking around and seeing where we are when
it comes to that movie and all the other movies
that have come along with it, I don't know, man
at sooner, Maybe this is why the NFL continues to
broadcast so many games, and continues to broadcast and try
and push for eighteen weeks and eighteen games and more

(43:16):
this and more. That the fact that we've got that
movie being reenacted and reincarnated all these times in a
row a bit much, if you're asking me, it just
feels like we are kind of in a spot where
everybody's over it, and for some reason, movie theaters and
production companies continue to roll out the same crap fast

(43:39):
and furious, all that stuff. Not into it, but whatever
a way, we go here with our two of the program,
Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio. So I'll say this,
We've identified a really bad habit in the world of sports,
and it involves somebody that there's a lot of expectations
for somebody where there's a lot of a lot of

(44:01):
people that look at them and go, all right, this
is this team is going to be the team that
we that we assume is going to be the team
that raises the trophy and is the and it's the
Boston Celtics. And if you are somebody who bets on
the Boston Celtics, my thoughts are with you, because it
is a waste of time. All you're doing is giving

(44:23):
yourself anxiety, and you're basically having a bank on whether
or not they're going to show up and they're going
to perform whenever they appear to have some motivation or
appear to want to play, or want to have any
sort of interest in getting back in a game. Because
you'll watch the Celtics and when they lose, and they've
lost twice this postseason. When the Celtics lose, they get annihilated,

(44:50):
like it isn't like there's no no Celtics team that
comes out and battles back and gets back into a
game when they're trailing, and then they come like it's
not like that. It just ain't happening. The Celtics go
out and when they get down by about ten to
twelve to fifteen, they just get ripped in half. And

(45:11):
then their fans are looking around going, what the f man?
They're fourteen and fourteen in their last twenty eight playoff
games at home. They're far better on the road than
they are at home. It doesn't make sense. And for
some reason, you've got people in the NBA that are
still like, if you go to the betting odds right now,

(45:32):
the Celtics are the favorite to win the championship, Like
you actually have to lay money to make money on
the Boston Celtics to win a championship minus won ten.
If you want to make one hundred dollars, you got
to pay more on DraftKings for the bearer for the
Celtics to win a championship doesn't make sense. And Jason

(45:53):
Tatum's talking about super teams and he's talking about all
this other stuff to come along with it, and it's like, dude,
there's anybody else seeing that I'm not seeing. And so
the Celtics come out and they get annihilated in Game
two of this series against Cleveland. They've got Game three
coming up later on. They get annihilated in Game two
against the Miami Heat, and it just reminds me that

(46:15):
the Celtics are one of those people that's got a
really bad habit. They're one of those people that's got
this habit where not only do they have a cheat meal,
they have a cheat day. And there's some people that
are like this where you'll start down the path and
you'll say, you know what, I feel like having a

(46:37):
donut for breakfast. I'm gonna have a donut with my coffee.
I'll have a pastry and then you'll have that, and
you go, you know, I mean I already did have
a pastry. Eh. We'll do Mexican food for lunch, you know,
I'll get that wet burrito that I normally get. We'll
go with that, and then you'll have that and you'll go, hmm,

(46:58):
what do you want for dinner? I don't know, you
know what. I already had a pastry and a burrito
for lunch. Why don't I go ahead and get pizza
as well too?

Speaker 4 (47:05):
All right?

Speaker 2 (47:05):
Cool? Hey, you want to get some ice cream afterwards?
Why not? Let's just you can't just have one meal.
You got to have an entire day. And that's who
the Boston Celtics are. When they get down in games,
it's over. There is no like, listen, if we're going
to lose, let's lose. They indulge in beatings. They almost

(47:29):
like revel in it. It's an honor to lose by
twenty five points when you're a double digit favorite. They
can't get enough. The Celtics get down in games and
they're like, well whatever, I mean, just beat us completely.
It's like, you can't just have one beer. You're going

(47:51):
all the way. Like I know people that are like
that to where what's the point of having one beer?
Like they're drinking to get drunk, Like it's not sit
down and let's have a drink. No, let's have a
drink turns into thirteen and Boston does that in games.
Watch them if they get down in game three, they

(48:13):
might try and come back and give a little bit
of effort, but they just look at the seven. Nobody
takes advantage of a seven game series more than the
Celtics do. Nobody. They look at it and they go, oh,
you mean, uh, we've got more time? Yeah, whatever, you
can have this one and then you can have that one.
And it almost worked, and they almost made history last
year in the Eastern Conference Finals. They got down three

(48:36):
zip and it was like, all right, this is going
to be a sweep, and nearly pulled it off. And
then what did they do? Got back home for Game
seven and melted and got wiped out. So if you're
looking for a bad habit, if you're one of those
people out there, they can't just have a cheat meal,
you've got to have a cheat day. If you're one
of those people out there that can't just have one beer,
you've got to have seventeen. If you're one of those

(48:58):
people out there that indul in your bad habit, the
Boston Celtics are your team because when they get down
in games, it's over. And then they'll come back and
win the next three and beyondo the next round and
you'd be like, what was that? What was that about?
It just looks like that's who they are. They indulge

(49:19):
in beatings and they hand out a few as well too,
Like don't get back on their diet the next day,
but not before they rummage through everything in the house
that increases weight gain by a significant amount. Jonas Knox
here Fox Sports Radio, at the Jonas Knox on Twitter
at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter. By the way, we
do have some positive feedback here on the show thus

(49:41):
far from the ti raq dot com studios. David writes
in Jony Joff and your pack of d bags can't
wait to give a group chat breaking down comic book
movies of the billianth bleep Rema and bleeps of apes.

(50:04):
We would rather you get mauled by one, then that
vomit bag being relaxed, and then some other insult that
I can't read on the air. Another guy writes in
you woke Beta Bleep and your warlord Bleep Carly Clark,

(50:30):
get your fever gear on and put up the heart
signs like the bleep you are with your fellow bleep boys.
Dirty Mike and the Boys writes in, hey Bleep, bleep.

(50:52):
Does Brian Farns produce this show because it sucks? Absolute
donkey bleep? Hey Jonahs, gambling and dating advice. You need
to stay in your lane. The only reason you are
marry is because your wife is a clone of Joanna
Gaines and she knows how to rehabit turd. Another guy

(51:15):
writes in hey, bleep breath, Jony, did you ever get
your old straight edge tattoos removed? Or did you cover
it up with a goth anime chick at the Jonas
Knox at the Jonas Knocks on twitters where you can
find the unedited versions of all of those and we
will retweet those. Well, I mean all except for the

(51:36):
last two. You know there was Listen, I'm not gonna
let Caitlin Clark catch astray or Greg Doyle for that matter,
just because you savages and you hooligans are bending the
elbow early on a Saturday. It's not happening, all right,
I get it. Greg Doyle a little weird. It's a
little bit weird. What happened? I mean to suspend him

(51:58):
two weeks and he can't cover the team? Come on, man,
the ridiculous The outrage on that stuff was pathetic, but
nonetheless people have chimed in and worked those two into
an insult here on social media here on a Saturday afternoon.
All right, coming up next here though, from the tire
rack dot Com Studios, there's somebody in the NFL who's
trying way too hard. They are trying. Wait, they're making

(52:20):
a critical air that many of you make all the time.
And I'll tell you what it is next, Gionas Knox
Fox Sports Radio coming up in a little over ten
minutes from now from the tire rack dot Com Studios.
You know, the NFL intervened in something. They got in

(52:40):
between the potential of two superstar players, potential superstar players
putting it all on the line. The NFL gott in
the way of it. And I'll tell you why. A
lot of people are scared. A lot of people are
scared of the NFL's certain rules and certain things that

(53:03):
you can and can't do. And the NFL got in
the way of something. We will get into that for you,
coming up here a little over ten minutes from now
from the tire raq dot com studio. So I have
a strict policy. Now there's a lot you're gonna notice
something because I noticed this when I go to the
supermarkets that because it's Mother's Day weekend, all the prices
on things that you would buy for your mom have

(53:24):
been jacked up to the ceiling. I mean, it's ridiculous.
Like if you go to buy like, like I'll go
to the supermarket and get a dozen roses, it's normally
nine ninety nine. Now with inflation, they've kind of bumped
it up to twelve. You'll get that same dozen roses
that you could have gotten last week, and it's going
to be like twenty two dollars. So they jack it

(53:46):
up significantly, and I'm personally tired of it. But I
also know, all right, this is where we're at, Like,
this is where we are. And so it got me
to thinking about something, because there is something too not
trying so hard and not making it obvious that you're

(54:06):
trying too hard. And somebody in the NFL is trying
way too hard to give somebody flowers as a make good.
And that's somebody is robber Craft. And this is what
I mean. Robber Craft and Bill Belichick were at the
Tom Brady Roast and they were up there doing a toast,

(54:29):
and they were doing a shot on stage together, and
you would have thought, man, it's so great to see
these guys back together. You know, all the other stuff
about you know, robber Craft and Belichick not getting along
and a falling out and Belichick's not doing it like
all of that other stuff that came along with it. Man,
all of that stuff water under the bridge. Everybody's fine,

(54:53):
nothing to see here, no issues, no problems, all on
the same page, appreciate each other, love each other. And
they're up there and they're doing a shot together. You
would have thought, man, this is great. It's great to
see these guys up there, celebrating and kind of just

(55:14):
you know, bygones, be bygones, let's just all be buddy, buddy.
It looked like everything was presented and we are all
on the same page. And then it comes to find out, Nah,
not really, because according to Julian Edelman and Drew Bledsoe
on the Games with Names podcast, things weren't exactly all

(55:35):
cool behind the scenes there at the Tom Brady roast
between Craft and Belichick.

Speaker 4 (55:41):
Eenching in that room though, it was it was real
head cut, it was, it was very real real. I
was so awkward.

Speaker 7 (55:49):
I was like I was watching coach, and I tried
to give coach a heads up.

Speaker 4 (55:53):
I'm I see Kraft walking.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
I'm like he coach.

Speaker 4 (55:59):
Luck Room like five, oh, you know, like.

Speaker 8 (56:04):
He did.

Speaker 4 (56:04):
Of course he didn't see it right, and he came
in and I was like, oh.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
This could be some fireworks.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
I just walked away.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
You could tell Belichick when he goes up there to
do the shot with Robber Kraft that the last place
he wanted to be was up there doing a shot
with Robert Craft and Robber Craft coming out with the
always the greatest coach of all time. And you know
what Craft's doing. He's doing what a lot of people do.

(56:33):
When do you buy flowers, You're buying when you made
a mistake. Except the problem is when you only buy
him when you make a mistake, it kind of loses
its impact. So when you're going to the store this
weekend and you're looking to buy flowers and you're doing
it for the right reasons, yeah you might pay a
little bit more, but at least for the right reasons.

(56:56):
Robber Kraft is going to the store the buy flowers,
and he's buying more and more and more, and it's
over the top and it's too much and he's doing
it because he made a mistake. Now I'm not saying
he made a mistake in getting rid of Bill Belichick
because it had run its course, but the way that
Belichick was labeled, the way he was discussed, the way

(57:20):
he was talked about, the documentary, the stuff that came out,
like all of like when it was robber Craft LLC.
Like all of that stuff, Robber Kraft screwed up. And
You've got a bunch of former players that have come
out in defense of Belichick that we've talked about on
this show. Whether it's Rodney Harrison, Devin mccorty, Stefan Gilmour,

(57:41):
we've talked about it on this show. It's no coincidence
that all of these look rob Gronkowski has been openly
critical of Belichick in the past. He's talked about not
liking the Belichick system or the Patriot way, to a
certain point where he went to Tampa Bay because he
just wanted to didn't want to deal with it, like
I'll come back and I'll play with Tom Brady, but

(58:01):
not for him. And even he came out and defended
Belichick afterwards. There's a lot of players who had butted
heads with Belichick that came out in defensive him afterwards
because of the way that he was portrayed and the
narrative that was surrounding him and robber Craft having to
do a shot on stage talking with people at the

(58:23):
draft or the owner's meetings, whatever it was, Like part
of that was because robber Craft realizes, ooh, this ain't
good when the report comes out from Seth Wickersham at
ESPN where it says Robert Craft and Belichick feels like
it was Craft who kind of put a word in
and is part of the reason why he didn't get

(58:44):
the job in Atlanta. And part of the speculation from
Belichick's side, whether this is true or not, is that
Belichick thinks that robber Craft views that if Belichick goes
in as success elsewhere, just like Tom Brady did, that
both of those guys will have proven they could do
it with out the Patriots. And yet robber crafts sitting
there with a bad football team. Who's he got to blame? Then?

(59:07):
Like when you see Kraft go above and beyond and
want to may all like I want everybody to know
everything's dude, you're buying flowers only when you screw up.
It's why I have this simple philosophy. I got a
simple rule. Anytime my wife's mad at me, never buy
her flowers ever. Refuse. In fact, all send her a
video of me walking by flowers and not buying them.

(59:32):
Like I might buy flowers for somebody else. I won't
do it because it loses its impact because the damage
is already done. And when you show that you're just
being nice because you were being mean, it's not really
being nice. And Belichick knows that. When he's up there

(59:53):
having to listen to Robber Kraft speak to all these nice,
glowing things about him, He's like, dude, you're just doing
this because you got called out. You're doing this because
you screwed up. I don't need flowers now like I
need it when I don't expect it. I don't need
it now, Like don't be nice now? Like how about
you know, represent me a little bit better and paint

(01:00:15):
me out a little bit differently? In that Apple TV
the Dynasty ten part series and documentary you came out with, Belichick,
you've have made mention of it on the roast, like
you made mention of it talking about how he got roasted,
Like you want to do me a solid, Do me
a solid there. Oh, well, you know we didn't have
any control over what went into that. Oh you didn't,

(01:00:37):
but it was your name and the credits come on.
So when you see that, robber Kraft is making the
same mistake a lot of people make. Look I've done
it before too, in my younger days. Not anymore. Don't
buy flowers when you make a mistake, don't do it.
Do it every other time. That way it'll have a

(01:00:59):
bigger impact. Because do you think she really forgives you
because you went to Vaughn's or the Piggly Wiggly and
picked up a ten dollars pack a dozen roses that
are probably colored in not the real color of the

(01:01:20):
actual rose, and brought it home. Do you think that
made amends? Do you think all is forgiven? Like, hey,
you know you walked in. I was with the neighbor
and three of her friends. But you know what, I'll
tell you what, take my Ralph's card, Go pick up
the white ones, all right, you know maybe if they
have some pink ones. I mean, you're throwing a couple

(01:01:41):
of the air, We'll give you two dozen. Everything's good, right,
it's not damage was done. The damage was done. Belichick
knows that look on his face where it seemed like
he was really uncomfortable. He was uncomfortable because he didn't
want to be there, because he didn't want to hear
the crap from Robert Kraft after all the other stuff
he had heard over the past several weeks. Robert Kraft

(01:02:01):
is going above and beyond because he knows he screwed up,
and Belichick knows he screwed up, and so did everybody else,
and nobody's taking it serious. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio,
at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on Twitter,
and you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. All right, it's coming up next here.
The NFL has gotten in the way. They have gotten
in the way of what could have been a really

(01:02:25):
fun race to watch. We'll tell you why that is
coming up next here. But for all the latest around
the world of sports, it's Martin Wise. You know, Jonas,
you like to give shout outs.

Speaker 7 (01:02:34):
I'll say to the people on Twitter that have had
very nice things to say about you.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Oh hell yeah, Awestin, there's just too much negativity in
the world. I'm trying to I'm trying to promote some
of the positive feedback we get on this show. You
know what I mean, I feel you, I feel you.

Speaker 7 (01:02:49):
I have to give a salute to at tall Tall
Daddy on Twitter, who corrected me very graciously.

Speaker 4 (01:02:56):
By the way, I've been reading that it was game two.

Speaker 7 (01:03:00):
Of the stars in the Avalanche all dang all day,
but tall Tall Daddy, not Shay, not Chris Purfet, not
any of the people who are hearing me, except the
tall Tall Daddy says, you know what, buddy, it's game three.
If the series is tied one a piece, it's gotta
be game three. So shout out to you, my friend, clearly,
not tall Tall Daddy, because I'm not tall.

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Well, I would say, yes, I would say this. There's
nothing wrong with a little bit of a heat sheck,
you know, like, you know, let me make sure anybody's listening,
you know, and giving out some wrong information and then
that way you know they are listening. So it's like,
all right, I just want to make sure you're there.

Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
You know. Sometimes you just do things to feel alive,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (01:03:36):
Anyway, course, in the NHL Game three, ten pm, Eastern
Stars in the Avalanche Tide one apiece to again, thank you, Tall,
Tall Daddy. That's a drop. Game four Rangers at the Hurricanes.
The Punk drops at seven pm Eastern New York with
the three nothing lead. There two game threes in the
NBA today, both series side up one apiece Oklahoma City
Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks getting ready to go. Mike

(01:03:59):
Curtis of the Dallas Morning News he's tweeting out Luka
donct's like pregame warm up highlights, So.

Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
I'm pretty sure he's.

Speaker 7 (01:04:06):
Gonna go ahead and give it a go, even though
he is listed at this moment as a game time decision.
Boston Celtics play the Cleveland Cavaliers eight thirty Eastern Cleveland.
Jared Allen a game time decision he has a rib injury.
Christophs razingis he'll be out for at least another week.
The Patriots have officially announced that Elliott Wolf will be
the executive Vice President of Player Personnel, which is a.

Speaker 4 (01:04:25):
Fansive way of saying GM.

Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
He'll have control of the fifty three man roster as
well as the salary cap. Baron's first Trump pick, Romadunze
is missing day two of practice.

Speaker 4 (01:04:34):
With a strained hamstring. His absence is precautionary.

Speaker 7 (01:04:37):
Zed Williams a professional lacrosse player who was All Pro
and an MVP in twenty twenty in the Pro Lacrosse League. Well,
he is at Buffalo Bill's rookie mini camp. And Jarvis Landry.
You've heard this name before. Hell yeah, Jarvis Landry, former
pro bowler, had a down yere twenty twenty two, didn't
play twenty twenty three. He's starting all over and trying
to make the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is currently Jaguars rookie

(01:05:01):
Minikam Jonas.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Back to you, one of the most underrated wide receivers.
A few years ago, I was making this argument that
you know, because him and Odell Beckham Junior are good buddies.
And I was making this argument like Landry's a better
wide receiver than Obj, like Obj's got the better highlights.
But if you look at career in totality, Landry was
mister dependable anywhere he was at.

Speaker 7 (01:05:23):
No I mean, he was one of the for a time.
Especially he was always like leading the league and catches reception.
He's really is a star or was a star. I
should say, And honestly, I'm kind of rooting for him.
I hope he does catch back on to the league
because listen, as a guy from New Orleans, I've seen
careers go to die there, So I'm hoping that it's
not the last thing for him.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Yeah. No, he's he had a good run and you know,
he's made a little bit of money. So if this
is it, good career. Probably didn't get the notoriety he
deserved because OBJ got a lot of the shine, and
rightfully so. But Jarvis Landry was a hell of a
player man at his prime. So hopefully catches on and
things will be that'll be fun to watch. Jonas Knox
here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up

(01:06:04):
in fifteen minutes from now, we're going to have another
edition of the Scraps things we have not had a
chance to get to. They will be yours here again
fifteen minutes from now from the tire rack dot Com studio.
So the NFL gotten somebody's the ear. I mean, God forbid,
you know, God forbid, you know we try and have
a little bit of fun. God forbid we try and
you know, promote ourselves and get excited about what the

(01:06:27):
future could be, you know, speaking of lsu Jaden Daniels
Maleik neighbors, they said they had a ten thousand dollars
bet for who would be offensive rookie of the Year,
and apparently that bet is off and they're they're citing, well,
you know, we've learned to understand the NFL's gambling policy
and their policy against gambling and blah blah blah blah

(01:06:48):
blah blah blah. Right, because these guys couldn't get together
underneath the table and say, hey, what do you think
ten thousand dollars? Like this is like it's stuff like
this where I love cat and I go are people
this naive? They don't think stuff like this like this naive?
Like do you really think that these two guys don't

(01:07:10):
have some sort of a friendly wager underneath the table?
Like do you think I think guys in the NFL
don't gamble at all? Like I've heard stories about guys
gambling on who can make a shot when they take
their the tape off their ankles and roll it up
into a ball. Whoever can make the best out of
ten with that tape ball from their ankles or their

(01:07:30):
wrist or their knees. Whoever makes that one a little
bit of coin and they're gambling real money in the
locker room, gambling on planes thing. But you know what,
these two guys talking, they just set it out loud.
That was the only issue. They just set it out loud. See,
you know what, Malik neighbors and Jade and Daniels just
have to realize sometimes you just got to play the game.

(01:07:53):
You may not agree with it and maybe kind of dumb,
it may not make a whole lot of sense, but
some some times you just got to play the game.
It's like when places were enforcing a mask policy during COVID.
You know they tell you like, hey, listen, you can
come in here and you can eat here, but you

(01:08:15):
better be wearing a mask when you walk through that door.
It's like, oh, okay, so I can wear a mask and
I have to wear a mask when I walk through
the door, But when I sit down at the table
and I drink out of my glass or eat off
my fork or conversate with the people next to me,

(01:08:38):
I don't have to wear a mask. It's just when
I come through the front door and then when I
leave to exit the front door. Got it. Okay, yeah,
that makes sense. I mean, it doesn't at all in
any realistic rational mind. But I'll play the game. If

(01:08:59):
you're a Molik and you're Jaden Daniels, you just got
to play the game. It doesn't make sense. You can
still have this bet under the table, you can still
you know, work out some sort of a wager with
each other. None of it makes any sense. But this
is how a lot of people view gambling. And this

(01:09:19):
is why I talk about it as much as I do,
because there's this notion that everyone thinks, all, we've got
it all figured out here, all right, now, that everything
is It's like any sort of violation in sports peds
is another one, you know, like you know, Sammy Sosa

(01:09:39):
is still not welcome back to Wrigley Field, to the Cubs,
like you know, like Sammy Sosa is not welcome back.
And part of the reasoning behind that is because, well,
he hasn't been forthright. He hasn't apologized for his role
in the ped ped era. It's like, oh, okay, you mean
the role in like making you have a watchable franchise again?
That role you mean the role in like, you know,

(01:10:02):
making baseball watchable again. That one that role. Oh, you
didn't know that anybody was on the gas. No no, no, no, no, no,
no, no no no. Major League Baseball had no idea that
anybody was, you know, on any of the fun stuff.
Like they had no idea, Like they thought it was just,
I mean, coincidence that all of a sudden two guys

(01:10:25):
were eting sixty plus home runs. It was, I mean,
could you imagine that just coincidence? The NFL had no
Major League Baseball had no idea at all. And then
afterwards we want to pretend like, ah, no, no, no, no, we've
got rules around here. You can't do this, you can't
do that. It's like, come on, dude, stop being naive.
Stop stop pretending that you weren't aware that any of

(01:10:47):
this stuff was going on. Mark McGuire, Major League Baseball,
Sammy Sosa, Conseko, whoever was involved, Like, let's stop, Barry Bond, stop,
let's just stop. Stop everybody pretending like you weren't aware
that there was some stuff going on or that this
didn't exist previously. Let's not pretend like these were the

(01:11:09):
first guys who were ever cheating. You got guys filing
down baseballs, spitballs, sandpaper and back pockets like all the
other like like signs like let's stop. This stuff had
gone on for a long time. You're just picking and
choosing when you want to be upset about it. Well,
now we're gonna make it. We're gonna emphasize that this
is not okay. It's okay. But back when you were

(01:11:31):
making money off it, it was okay. Oh I understood
five six years ago Tony Romo couldn't have a fantasy
football convention because the NFL deemed it was gambling. Yet
now it's okay to have sponsorship and all the other
things to come along with it. Oh hey, listen, Malik
Neighbors and Jayden Daniels, you guys, Bob, No, you can't

(01:11:52):
make a friendly wager like that is like, oh okay,
sh hey, we learned our lesson. Let's put our mask
back on when we walk out the door. And then
what do you think they're doing when they walk out
the door taking the mask off and betten ten grand
a piece on who was going to get workI of
the year. They're just gonna do it under the table.
It's like the stuff that people pick and shoes to

(01:12:12):
be naive about and it just it's weird. So I
hope these guys are gambling with each other. And even
if it came out and they were gambling and they
placed a wager through DraftKings, you know what, they're probably
gonna get suspended. But you know what, there's going to
be a time where we look back on this outrage
over this stuff and realize kind of ridiculous, kind of

(01:12:34):
ridiculous that we get bothered by this stuff. But nonetheless,
the NFL has stepped in and those guys can't have
a friendly wager, or at least can't talk about it,
quote unquote openly. Jonas Knox here, Fox Sports Radio, get
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter. Coming up next here, we're going to
close up shop with another edition of the Scraps. Things
that we have not had a chance to get to,

(01:12:55):
and they are yours here on FSR. Christ Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. You're dancing, and let me tell you something, man,
my wife's planning a uh so, for those of you
don't know, my wife is Mexican, and uh so, there's

(01:13:20):
a lot of this that happens and there's a lot
of parties because it's always a celebration. There's always something
going on, and so she's having like this Mother's Day celebration.
This it's like a Mexican Mother's Day, I guess, traditional thing.
And they're they're getting together all tonight over at the
house and I will not be there. There's not a
not a shot. Now I'll be there. Well not. I

(01:13:42):
told her, Yeah, I'm gonna take a you know, take
take the kid out. Where are you guys going? You
can you can stick around here? I was like, no,
we're just gonna where are you gonna take him anywhere
other than here, you know, like like anywhere, like we'll
swim Alcatraz and we don't know how to swim then
be here. It's too much, way too much, and I

(01:14:03):
will not be a part of it. So I'm gonna
move on as quickly away from that as possible. By
the way, coming up from the tire rack dot Com
studios in a little over ten minutes from now, make
sure you stick around. It's Alex Curry and Karma Vitally.
They will take over the airwaves. Always a fun listen.
We got MBA Conversation, NFL all the fun stuff with

(01:14:24):
Carmen and Alex coming up here a little over ten
minutes from now. A reminder before we get to the
scrap so that if you've missed any of this show,
you can check out the podcast you search Fox Sports
Radio wherever you get your podcasts. Be sure to also follow,
rate and review the pod again. Search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcasts. You'll see this show posted
right after we get off the air, and I will

(01:14:44):
tweet out a link to this podcast as well too
at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox. But right
now it is time for this Jonas, you moro?

Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
How could you not get to these stories?

Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
You morons?

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
These are the scraps? All right, Shay? What the hell
we got? What the hell do we miss so far
on the show.

Speaker 8 (01:15:04):
So, the NFL schedule comes out this Wednesday, May fifteen,
five PMPST eight pm Est. Which matchups do you want
to see the most?

Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Well? I want to see who the Chiefs open up
with the season opener. There's been some speculation that, you know,
maybe Baltimore, maybe Houston, we could see a rematch. I
kind of thought initially would they go division game with
Jim Harbaugh coming back, like there's a lot of potential
for Kansas City to open up the season, but from there,

(01:15:34):
I want to see that one. And I also want
to see who the Brazil teams are playing in week two,
just from a gambling standpoint. If you think about it,
you open up the year in Brazil and then you
got to come back, Like I know that you know
Green Bay is going to be at home week two,
I would imagine saying with Philly because they're both coming
back off this trip to Brazil. I just want to

(01:15:56):
know who they're playing because I plan on betting whoever
that team is that they're all right because that's a
long trip and who God knows what those guys are
going to get into when they're out in Brazil to
have fun for the first week of the season. So
I would venture to guess those are the two matchups
I'm looking forward to most because other than that, like
the NFL schedule coming out, the reason why it's a
big deal and people don't like a lot of people

(01:16:17):
don't think about this in sports media, but from a
fan standpoint, dude, NFL trips during the fall and winter
are great. I used to do it with my buddies
all the time. We would pick a different game each
year and we would fly out because you can fly
out on a Friday and fly back on a Monday,
and you're really missing if you wanted to only one

(01:16:38):
day of work, and you get a hotel in advance,
you go to a game, you party in whatever town
you're in, and then you fly back. It's a quick trip.
It's a lot of fun. You could even fly out
on a Saturday and really only miss one day and
fly back on a Monday. Like, just the whole idea
of the NFL and their schedule release has become a
bigger deal because this is when people plan a lot
of secondary or third vacation for the year, whatever they

(01:17:01):
have going on, to go see their favorite team or
just go see a new city. What else you got? So?

Speaker 8 (01:17:06):
Former NBA big man Glenn Davis was sentenced to forty
months in prison with his involvement in a scheme to
defraud the league's health and welfare benefit plan.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
I just don't get it, man, I really don't like.
I don't like. I don't get like. Let me let
me just go do a quick search here. Let me
just like, what would you say if you guys had
the guests, what would you say Big Baby Davis made
in his career? Like if you if you had to guess,
what would you say, ball like Chris Prefett. What would
your guest be? Glenn Davis? How much do you think
he made in his in his NBA?

Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
God, remind me what decade he worked in? Again? Played?

Speaker 1 (01:17:39):
Well?

Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
I mean he was he was part of the Celtics championship.

Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
Even eight.

Speaker 8 (01:17:44):
Last played in twenty fifteen.

Speaker 9 (01:17:45):
Okay, twenty fifteen, Okay, I'm gonna say like five million.

Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
Okay, Shay, what's your guess if you had to guess.

Speaker 8 (01:17:53):
Fight a guess. Twenty fifth is a pretty long career.
Let's do like twenty million?

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Okay, just under thirty four million dollars? Hush he made
in his NBA career? Did Big Baby Davis?

Speaker 9 (01:18:05):
Did you see this part of the story too, where
I guess his lawyers were trying to say he like
they were trying to get him off the hook by
saying that like he wasn't mentally competent or something. And
there their reasoning was his nickname Big Baby.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Oh that it was insulting.

Speaker 9 (01:18:22):
No, no, no, that that like that was like oh yeah, no,
he is actually a baby. He does he doesn't know
what he's doing here, and thus he shouldn't have to
get prison or like get a lighter sentence.

Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
By the way, I don't know anything about law. But
when that's where you're going, Like if that, if that's
your defense, then that I'll tell you that the guy's guilty,
like baby defense. Well, if that's where we're going, like, yeah,
listen to me. His name's big Baby, because if you
look at it's like, come on, dude, like he made
a mistake, committed a crime, committed a violation. Now he's
going away for a little while. I just don't get it. Man,

(01:18:53):
if I came up on thirty four million dollars, I
promise you, Like, if I come up on thirty four dollars,
I'm smart with it. With thirty four million, I'm guarding
it for my life and I'm not doing anything to
jeopardize it. Apparently I'm on an island alone when it
comes to that. What else you got to say?

Speaker 8 (01:19:08):
Jason Kelsey apologizes after suggesting Triple Crown winner Secretariat used
performance enhancing drugs.

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
This is so dumb, This is so dumb. So he
goes on his podcast and he says that Secretariat, a
horse who's dead, took steroids or was on peds when
he won the race, and people were bothered by it
so much so that he had to come out and apologize. Dude,

(01:19:38):
who cares? First of all, the horse is dead. Secondly,
if he was on steroids, nobody cares. And third why
does he need to come out? And for the record,
his brother Travis talked about nearly winning one hundred thousand
dollars on the Kentucky Derby last week. Clearly not a

(01:19:58):
listener of this show, because you had you listen to
this show, you would have heard Andy Furman step up
to the stage and announce Mystic Dan being the winner
and congratulations for anybody and listened last week it paid
out eighteen to one. And that's why you come to
this show for subpar betting advice, especially when it comes

(01:20:18):
to Kentucky Derby. We'll be back next week for more.
