He got a lot of run this week, you know
what I mean? Especially on my show. I brought up
the Malice in the Palace with him, and it was

(01:29):
a great point about the Patrick Beverly deal. Meet none
other than TJ. Huschman's I'd ad my guy Plexico Birds,
who was on the cart and show all week. If
you didn't check them out, make sure you check them
out on FS one.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
That's right. Does this thing? That's Stretch Armstrong Plexico Birds.
That's right. How y'all feeling man? How's everything going? How
you doing everything good? What's what's up? What's up? Feeling good?

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Man?

Speaker 5 (01:49):
He's a nice little weather out here. You know, it's
a little better, it's getting better. Just enjoying the playoff games.
I said I wasn't gonna watch when we got eliminated,
but you know, I'm back. I like I like this
Pacers next series, I like Chamberwolves, Nugget series. Hey, one
thing I will say, if you're an NFL fan, appreciate

(02:09):
the officials because these NBA officials they are awful. They
so bad. NFL officials are so good. I'm never gonna
criticize these dudes again. After watching these NBA games. Man,
just so much inconsistent in NBA. Man, I feel, man,
oh here on.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
The East coach, Man, just you know, doing one thing
on a beautiful you know, Saturday morning. Man. I will
be on FS one all week next week on the
Carton Show seven am Eastern Standard time. So uh yeah, man,
it's gonna be another good show. We got a lot
of quality information to give these people who are listening today,

(02:48):
and yeah, man, let's just do what we do, all right.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
With that being said, let's let's let's throttle down on
Frank Vogel. He's he's out as the coach. And in Phoenix.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
There was an.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Article that surfaced about Kadi also being on that list
with Lebron James as a coach. Killer I found out
to be a little bit interesting. I think that when
you're talking about two of the more prolific for sure,
you know, Hall of famers, I mean one is in

(03:24):
the debate of greatest of all time. It led me
to this question, Fellas, and I want y'all's perspective on it,
because I'm curious to know.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
MJ.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
MJ went to the league and he had a coach
by the name of Kevin Loggery, Loggery, Lotterty or whatever
it is, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
From eighty four to eighty five didn't last long. He
was outed there, right.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Then they bring in a fella by the name of
stan elback right nineteen eighty five, check this to nineteen
eighty six. Out of there, all right, So he ran
through two coaches pretty quickly early on eighty four, eighty five,
eighty five, eighty six.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Out of there.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
But then comes Doug Collins, and that's where he gets
a nice little run from Doug Collins of three years. Okay,
then they bring in Phil Jackson and we all know
what happens from there, all right. Eighty nine to ninety eight,
So he had five coaches with the Chicago Bulls, three

(04:36):
of which I mean they kind of came, two really
came and went. Doug Collins actually was his coach in Washington,
so they actually did have a good rapport and they
finished out together, but he also ended up getting kidding
sent away. The point I'm getting to right now, Fellas
that I want your perspective on is when talking about

(04:57):
greatest of all time, greats of greats and KD and
Lebron are in that conversation. Does how many coaches get
fired under your watch, under your time and tenure, does
that play a part in how we view or should
view the greatness of that player.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
No, And I think it's unfair to criticize these dudes
for when coaches get fired. And we'll focus on Lebron first,
and I might leave out a coach, but I'm I
did my research because we're talking about this the other day. Also,

(05:39):
he starts off with Paul Solace. Brendan Malone had eighteen games,
bring him alone coach Lebron for eighteen games.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
He had Keith Smart first, and then Paul Sallas eighteen games.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Yeah, Yeah, Then he has Mike Brown, played a few
years with Mike Brown, and then he leaves Cleveland and
goes to my wins the championship with Eric Sposter.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
They brought in Brent Brandon Malone as well.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
And then David Blat Did David Blad ever coach again
after the Cleveland CAFs.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Did he ever coach again in the NBA? No?

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Luke Walton, then let me not skip Tylo because he
won a championship in Cleveland with Tyler. Luke Walton, like
you have to put it in perspective to where the
type of coach he's getting. I can see if you
get a coach and he moves on to get another
head coaching job, it's like, Okay, the guy can really coach,

(06:34):
but the dudes want to win so much. Somebody is
going to take the blame. When you coach Lebron James
and Kevin Durant, somebody has to take the blame. When
you lose, somebody has to take the blame. And it's
not gonna be what you're gonna do. Fire the player,
trade the player, so the coach goes and then you
go to KD starts off with PJ Carlssimo and then

(06:55):
we all remember Scotty Brooks, Scotty Brook's longtime Oklahoma City
thunderhead coach coach when they were rolling, they had a
great team with him, Westbrook, Harden, Reggie Jackson, Ebaka, Steven Adam.
They just couldn't get over the hump. They couldn't get
over the hump. And then Billy Donovan comes in, another
good head coach, and then he leaves Oklahoma City, goes

(07:18):
to go to State with Steve Kerr and they go
back to back. But then that's when things got trigger
because he leaves Golden State and he goes up to
the Nets first time head coach, and Steve Nash think
he lasted two and a half seasons. Then Jacques Vaughn
and then Minnie Williams leaves the Suns because Detroit offered

(07:38):
him money as if he was a player. He has
a contractor where you couldn't turn that down. And now
Frank Vogel with this new ownership and so that will
be a stain on their legacy. But I don't think
you can blame them and try to lower where they
fall historically because of coaches, what they did and what

(08:02):
they do on the court speaks for itself. Have a
culture too being collateral damage. Yeah, but what superstar hasn't
had that.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
Man State pleased for the first for the first fifteen
years of Kevin Durance. For Kevin Durant's career. I think
this is the first time that I've ever heard anybody
say that.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Kevin Durant is a coach killer.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
It's the first time I've ever heard that because he
falls short of what the expectations were for him, you know,
going into Phoenix, he's a coach killer. How many coaches
have Devin Booker been through while he's been in Phoenix.
Why does it have to be Kevin Durant. And to

(08:52):
add on to what TJ was saying, when you guys
are talking about coach killers, there are certain players that
mesh well with certain coaches and it's I mean, the
prime example of that is Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

(09:12):
I don't believe that he has that kind of success
anywhere else in the NFL. If Bill Belichick is not
his coach when he comes in and takes the starting
position after Drew Blessol gets hurt basically after his rookie
or second second year in the.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
League, I agree with that.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
I agree with that, So I would that's the first
thing that jumps out to me. So when you look
at you know, Kevin Durant and look at Steve Kerran
and Curry. Yeah yeah, right, yeah, So why couldn't Mark Jackson.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Get it done? But he couldn't. He wasn't. But Buddy couldn't.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I mean he some people thought that he maybe could have,
but I mean could it would have should have? He
didn't get it done in a timely enough fashion. And
they bring in Steve Kerr and the rest of his history. Right,
I mean I just you know, for me, Fellas, I
really look at it and I say, Wow, a coach
can have a major, major impact, as you're saying, plex

(10:09):
on your success and your failures on any level, on
every level. Right, someone who has a whole lot of coaches,
I'll tell you they don't have a whole lot of stability.
If you don't have a whole lot of stability, you know,
how do you have the opportunity to really really maximize
what you're capable of doing? How does your team have

(10:29):
the ability to maximize what it is that they're doing now?
And in some cases it may be a little bit
maybe easier to adjust. You know, you got five players,
you know that go on the court. You probably rotate
maybe three off of the bench, sometimes maybe four as
a stretch, but maybe sometimes you got four coming off

(10:52):
of your bench. Okay, it's I wouldn't say it's as
as hard or as as non perceivable to switch coaches
and still have success in basketball. But with that being said,
I think there's something about having the relationship dynamic, the

(11:12):
cultural dynamic, the accountability dynamic. There are so many emotional
mental capacity things that go into whether a team has
has a healthy environment and are putting forth what I
would call strong efforts versus being in an environment where

(11:32):
it's not that. So what came to mind to me
Fellas and I know we're up against the break, but
what kind of came to mind to me when this
question came about and reading about Lebron and kd being
coach killers is really, ultimately, are are we looking at
this where maybe Lebron and this has been a big conversation,

(11:56):
does Lebron run the teams? Is the coach just the
figurehead in the scenario. I've never felt that or would
think that about Kevin Durant, So I'm not sure exactly
how to to comprehend, you know, Kevin Durant being considered
to be a coach killer.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I never looked at him in that manner.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
But we've heard of the dominance of Lebron James, We've
heard of the demands of Lebron James and how things
are handled in TV.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
You don't if you don't win, Yeah, somebody has to
take the blame.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
That's just what it.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
But why would it be Why wouldn't it be Lebron
at this point in LA would because because.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
He's a superstar. What' you're gonna do get rid of Lebron?
Whos gonna go watch the games? You get rid of Lebron?
You couldn't win with him, You're for sure gonna lose
without him.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
So that hurt Doesn't that hurt your legacy? Then if
you know it's Lebron? But what you're saying bye, by
definition is we know he's wrong, but we can't get
rid of him because we're not gonna sell tickets.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
This is the thing when when you're a really good player,
you don't agree with everything in the coach is going
to do.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
And there's certain cases where you're like, what are we doing?

Speaker 5 (13:05):
And so you start to conversate and talk and explain
to whomever is in an organization about what the coach
isn't doing. That person now starts to pay attention to that,
and if he sees it, then it's like or she
It's like, oh yeah, this continues.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
And we got to do something.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Allah, you bench Austin Reeves and you play cam Reddish
for twenty six games and the numbers show you cam
Reddish ain't getting it done. You go to Kevin Durant
when you got Kevin Durant, Booker and Bill you gotta win.
But then you say Bill on he played in fifty games.
They couldn't really get a rhythm. Somebody has to take

(13:48):
the blame for that. They had no bench. Somebody, what
was it a what?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
They had? No what?

Speaker 5 (13:56):
They had no bench? But nobody I heard a different
word when you when you get when you get to
start talking about the bench. I don't think that any
I don't think that has to do anything with the coach.
I mean, does somebody gotta saw ask some questions about
Rob Polinka.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
It doesn't talking about the No, No, it doesn't.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
It doesn't what I'm saying that on Darvin Ham somebody
I'm talking about the Sons had no bench, the Lakers,
Vanderbilt was injured, Christian Wood was injured. We we had
players that could give us production. They they're not gonna
do it. But y'all know this, somebody has to take
the blame. Who you're getting rid of Lebron James or

(14:41):
Darvin Ham. Who you're getting rid of Frank Vogel or
Kevin Durant. We all gonna do the same thing that
Jennie Buss and Ishiba did with the Lakers and Sons respected.
We're all doing the same thing. We're not getting rid
of the players. Coach, Sorry, you gotta go, but guess what,
you got a nice severage package.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
A plexico.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
You put the right way about the GM, and you
know what, We're at the tirag dot com studios. We're
gonna take a quick breaking on the other side of
the break. Well, let's talk about gms. Let's keep the
conversation about gms, and let's keep it on owners and
coaches too, Bill Kraft, Bob Bob Kraft, I mean Bill Belichick, Elliott.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Wolf Like, let's let's keep the conversation going. This is
up on game.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
That's t J.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Huschman's eyes, Plexko Burst. I'm LeVar Arrington. We'll take quick break.
We'll be right back.

Speaker 7 (15:30):
Hey, I'm Doug Gottlieb. The podcast is called All Ball.
We usually talk all basketball all the time, but it's
more about the stories about what made these people love
their sport and all the interesting interactions along the way.
We talked to coaches, we talked to players, We tell
you stories. You download it, you listen to it.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
I think you like it.

Speaker 7 (15:51):
Listen to All Ball with Doug Gottlieb on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
You're listening to sports.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
All right, all right, all right, welcome back into Up
on Game Where live from tyrack dot com studios.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
St. J.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Huschman is outa It's Plexico burst. I'm LeVar Arrington. Guys,
there's a lot going on. We'll talk quarterback power rankings
that they get it right. We'll find out out from
stretching panteen Man themselves and just a matter of moments.
But first, right now, let's let's talk a little bit
about uh, you know, Robert Crafton and Bill Belichick. The

(16:33):
Tom Brady Roast went over. It was a tremendous success,
fellas everybody watched it. Everybody's talking about it. Everybody had
their different sector of categories that applied to them. They
had Kim Kardashian there, they were booing her, you know,
grounts over here, Spike and Shotglasses. I mean, there was
a lot going on. Kevin Hart was well, look really

(16:56):
short at at the roast. It there was a lot
going on, and there was a lot that came of it.
But one of the things that continues to be discussed
fellas as we come out of the Tom Brady roast
was one. Interestingly enough, one of the only times that
Tom Brady got up and told a comedian not to
say anything or to stay away from that was when

(17:17):
he talked about Robert Kraft and Asia's Orchards of Asia, which, obviously,
if you're not aware of that, you know that that
was the massage parlor that Robert Kraft is connected to
putting some of his hard earned dollars into and disappeared.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, mysteriously disappeared. Fellas.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
There was a moment where Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick
did a toast on stage. This almost came across to
me as Tom Brady was using his name and his
brand to help Bill well, not only to help men
fences between Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft, but it almost
seem though it was more about Robert Kraft getting an

(18:03):
opportunity to clear the air and kind of distance himself
away from some of the narratives that are being created
about how he felt about Bill Belichick. Do you feel
like there's still drama and beef between Bill Belichick and
Robert Kraft and from y'all's perspectives. Is this damaging to

(18:24):
Robert Kraft? Where things are right now.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
Listen, there will always be somewhat of an unspoken tension.
The reason is Bill Belichick goes into England, we know
what he accomplished, Drew Blatsoell gets hurt, Brady comes in.
The rest is history. But when you, in that sense,

(18:49):
get fired, I don't care who you are, that's gonna
rub you the wrong way. Whether you felt it was warranted,
it's going to rub you the wrong way. We can
as professionals and well, we think this is the right move,
You're always gonna think it's the wrong move if you're
Bill Belichick, and so in Robert krafts like, we're not winning,

(19:11):
we're not developing guys, we can't find the right guys
on offense via the draft. We never do, And so
was it the right time to move on? Yes, Bill
Belichick will never think it was the right time to
move on, And so to me, there will always be
tension because Bill Belichick is a competitor and he feels

(19:32):
like I can turn it around next year, and then
I can turn it around next year, and then I
can turn it It wasn't happening so I believe it
will always be respect, but they'll always have that tension
because Bill Belichick guarantee firmly believes he should still be
the head coach of the New England Patriots.

Speaker 6 (19:53):
What you think, stretch Man, I have agree with TJ Man.
I really believe that they will always be tension because,
like you said, he got fired. And I remember when
the New York Giants let go of Tom Coughlin. They
actually had like they actually had a press conference, and

(20:14):
it was like, what the hell is the press conference about?
You basically just fired them, man. And I remember Tom
Cafflin giving his little speech. He wasn't ready to go.
I don't think that he thought that it was the
right time for him to part and no no longer
be the coach of the New York Giants. And when
he walked by John Mary, John Mayer stuck his hand
out to shake Tom Coffin's hand coming down the stairs,
and Tom gonna.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Walk right by him, like you can hold that hand.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Listen.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
I've just bought two World championships here in less than
a five years, the team in the history game and
a five year period, and now we have one bad
season and you fired me after the two thousand I
believe it was thirteen seasons.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
I believe.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
But yeah, so that's never It's always gonna be love loss.
I mean, you know when you get fired as a
head coach, specially listen, Rob Kraft was there. I mean,
Bill Belichip was the twenty four seasons, six world champions,
twenty four seasons. I think they combined for the most
wins in for history with three hundred and thirty three
wins together that would ever be done again between the

(21:16):
coaching and owner and a quarterback being together the whole
entire time. So listen, I mean, what do you expect.
So I expect Bill Belichicking and Robert Craft not to
get along, and that's just what the relationship is going
to be moving forward.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
You know, they'll get along, but it will always be
like I can't believe you fired me, unspoken.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Always you that laugh it off after after a while.
But you get to a point of where they.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Say, I mean, hey, hey, they they better get to
that point soon.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
It ain't like they got forever today. I've said on
this show several times that I never believe that that
that Rob Bob Kraft will fire Bill Belichick.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Bill Belichick will had to resign.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
But from an ego standpoint, Bill Belichick is not going
to resign. No, and that's why in essence, he kind
of feels that you owe this to me based off
what I have brought you into this organization with these
six World championships, I deserve some grace.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
I don't feel that I need to be treated or
should be treated as these other coaches in the NFL
based off of what I have to It's like being
in a relationship, right, It's like being in a relationship
and you.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Know, like you never find nobody better than me?

Speaker 4 (22:33):
Hey, you never? You know, you need to leave what
you like.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
Man, I hope I hope, I hope he or she
just leaves, Just just leave. I want them to leave first.
I want them, make them break up. But you know
it's not don't work. You know it's not gonna work.
But you're like, you just go ahead and leave. So
then when that person doesn't leave, you like, man, I
got to go ahead and make this decision.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
I got made this decision. It's been going on too long.

Speaker 6 (22:57):
And then on top of that, man, you look at
what Tom was able to do.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
Man, that's legendary. It's nothing, probably never going to be
done again.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
And then you you know, he he leaves, he goes
downtown Bay, wins another chip, and now you're Bill Belichick
looking at the legacy that has been created.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
Wild Tom was dead. Now he's gone, and now you're
trying to.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
Try to replicate the same thing, and it's not going
to happen.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
The replication will not happen.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
But I'll tell you what we can replicate another dope
part of the segment after we get some dopeness and
an update from our.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Guy, mister Ah, he's a glowing crawl. Everybody give it up.
Rides and glower crawl. Yeah, what else?

Speaker 8 (23:43):
And you know what our top story is in sports
right now? Horse racing?

Speaker 1 (23:47):
All right, I know one of jump on that horse,
one of one of three of you.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
I knew it.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
Earlier today, the Trader horse Mystic Dan, the Kentucky durb winner,
announced that Mystic Dan will run in the Preakness Stakes
next Saturday. After all, who was initially thought that Mystic
Dan would be held out of the Preakness because of
the quick turnarounds. So the potential for a twenty twenty
four triple crown winner is still alive and galloping. In

(24:19):
Game three of the NBA's Western Conference Semi Finals on
Friday night, Denver what at Minnesota one seventeen to ninety
Timberwolf Facilly the series two games to one, and Game
three of the Eastern Conference semi Finals, the Indiana Pacers
and New York Knicks were tied at one oh six
in the final seconds of.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
The fourth quarter.

Speaker 8 (24:37):
Here was Mark Boyle on wfni.

Speaker 7 (24:40):
Attleburton double teams out near the timeline three to shoot,
two to shoot, thirty five foot travel.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
For two.

Speaker 8 (24:54):
And just to clarify what, Just to clarify, that was
a reference to Andrew Nemhard's jersey number he wears two. Okay,
that was not a reference to a biological.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
He needed to go do function. Okay.

Speaker 8 (25:13):
Perhaps Nick fans needed to because the Pacers, wanting to
win one eleven to one oh six, the Knick still
leave the series two games to one. Today's action tips
off at three thirty Eastern with Game three of the
other Western Conference semi final series from Dallas, Mavericks and
the Oklahoma City Thunder tied at one win a piece.
Tonight at eight thirty Eastern Game three from Cleveland with
the Cavaliers and Boston Celtics tied at one win a piece,

(25:36):
and Fellas, it's all.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yours, appreciate it. I Low, I'm sitting there and not
laughing at you.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
I'm laughing at the list that we're about to talk about.
So and if you feel like you want to chime in,
I loo on this one. You you certainly let us
know too, all right, So listen, this is the CBS NFL.
One of the writers came out with a power ranking
of this year's quarterbacks, Cody Benjamin and we could debate

(26:06):
the top top guys, and we could get to that,
but I gotta say putting Daniel Jones at thir at
thirty two, Fellas, they they got Daniel Jones at thirty two,
and they got bow Knicks. They got guys I haven't
even played in the league yet rated higher than Daniel Jones.
They got bow Knicks, they got Jaydon Daniels, they got

(26:29):
they got Caleb Williams, and basically all of the guys
that got drafted this year ranked higher in the power
ranking than Daniel Jones, first and foremost.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
That's disrespectful as hell, they say, you know what, No, man,
that's good because that gives you motivation.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Man, if you're a competitive supposed to you.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Think, if you're a competitive bro, that should motivate that,
you know what out of you like y'all really think
some dudes that have never taken a snap of the league,
that should motivate him, man, it really should.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
They got Aaron Rodgers at eleven, so he's not even
in the top ten. They got two at twelve, not
in the top ten. They got Kirk Cousins at fourteen,
not in the top ten. They got Trevor Lawrence at fifteen,
not in the top ten. They got Russell Wilson at nineteenth.
And now here's the one that's pretty crazy. They got

(27:22):
Caler Murray at twenty one. All right, now let's go
back to the top. Of course, we know who's number one,
all right. They got Pat Mahomes at Patrick Mahomes at
number one. But here's where it gets interesting. Brock Purty
at number two, Josh Allen at number.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
Three, they wrong on that.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Joe Burrow at number four, they wrong.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Once you said the number two, they're wrong.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
C J.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Stroud at five, Lamar Jackson at six, Jalen Hurts at seven,
Dak Prescott at eight, Justin Herbert hitting you up at nine,
and your boy Jordan Love rounding you out at ten.
That's your top ten right there? How how how off

(28:11):
are they? How off is this one wrong?

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Is two left feet? Dang?

Speaker 5 (28:15):
You can't try to try to can't put Brock Party
number two? Now, me personally, I would have Rock Party's
top ten for sure, the way he's played.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
But number two? Come on, man, all.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Right, who's your number two? I'm gonna tell you who
my number two is. Who's your number two?

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Joe Burrow?

Speaker 1 (28:31):
I got Lamar Jackson number.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Two, Joe Burrow's number two, and then.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
You know his wrists is still a little bit a
little shaky.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Josh Allen is number three.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
See, I think you've been a little biased.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
I'm not being biased. He's not being biased.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
Yeah, you could go either way with the number two,
with Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
I mean, the man just won the MVP of the league.
He did, and that's his second one he did. How
do how do you have a reigning MVP not number two?
Your number two? I would say he's number two on
my list. Then I would go Joe Burrow.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, do that before.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
I'm not putting Josh Allen in my top five.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
I'm just not doing so who's up next?

Speaker 9 (29:19):
Four?

Speaker 6 (29:21):
Brock person out in my top five either. But you
know we get to talking about, you know, just playing
the quarterback position. U. Anon Rodder is still in my
top five. Wow, he has to be. I know that
he got hurt last year, but I mean he's still
going to be Ann Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
If healthy, if he stays healthy, He's still I.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Don't disagree with that. I don't disagree with that.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
Four.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
I put Anon Rodgers at four and round it down
at five. When it when it comes to playing the position,
he has it, you know, got to where you know
people want him to be. But I gotta put Justin
Herbert at five?

Speaker 4 (30:01):
What I do?

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Yeah? What? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (30:08):
Hey, No, board were receivers, bro we're looking at who
we want to catch the ball from.

Speaker 6 (30:13):
Herbert at five when it comes to throwing the football
at being a quarterback. I happen to put Justin Herbert
at five.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
So you got pat Patrick Mahomes at one, you got
Lamar Jackson at two, TJ you got, you got Joe
Burrow at number two.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
I got Burrow, Allen, Herbert Lamar Burrow Allen, Herbert Lamar two, three, four, five.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (30:41):
I thought that's Patrick Mahomes one with Lamar Jackson two.
I'll take Herbert three, and I'll take Annon Rogers four
and Justin Herbert five. Right now, listen without Stephan Diggs
this year office, I believe I think just Allen is

(31:01):
gonna struggle. I really do. It's gonna show us how
good he really is as a quarterback. That that's what
you just said is the key.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
He will either show his greatness or we will say, right, wow,
Diggs meant that much.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Right all I'm gonna say, this is what I'm gonna say.

Speaker 6 (31:19):
And you can put party in the rest of them
boys whatever you want, but you cannot sit here and say,
I know Aaron Rodgers was the season, but there's no
way in hell that brought Perdy is a better quarterback
than Anon Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
There's no way. There's no way.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Nah, there's no way to justify that, man. I mean,
that's that's there's some there's some legitimacy there, and and
and and for what it's worth. Kirk Cousins was on
MVP trajectory before he got hurt. Like, let's let's state
that i'mp for Kirk Cousins to be at number fourteen.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
I think that's blasphemous.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Hey, I might put CJ. Stroud at five, bro, And.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
And I was coming, I was, I was, I was round.
Let me tell you something. I'm putting c J. Stroud
number two on my list. If it's not Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
I.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
See, it's just one.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
If that's the key with what Plaque just said, I
got to say this off his rookie ear, I'm putting
five because we believe this is gonna be a continuous thing.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
I do what, Yeah, concerned about Here's here's what I'm
gonna say. The only reason why I'm not gonna go
with Joe Burrow is because I'm concerned about if he
can stay healthy.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
I really am at this point.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
I'm just very concerned about you if he can stay healthy,
and that plays a part.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
We are basing this quarterback ranking if they're healthy.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Yeah, I mean, but I'm basing it off of both.
I'm kind of basing it off of both, like because
availability is the best.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
You can do that, Yes I can, Yes I can.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
If everybody everybody is healthy who is your top five
quarterback to the list if they're healthy.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
I mean, if Tom Brady's healthy, he's my number one quarterback.
I'm just saying we can throw out i's and odds
and listen.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Can I tell y'all something I'm not?

Speaker 3 (33:08):
I was not all the way sold on Patrick Mahomes
and how he played last season.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Like if I'm if, I'm gonna be honest, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
I think their defense largely in part of the reason
why that team wanted.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
To carried them. He can the Patriots defense.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Patrick ma Holmes was not the best quarterback in the
National Football League.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Last get it done. He win and catch it too.

Speaker 9 (33:36):
I mean, what you want to do, let me go
catch this. Look at what these receivers did to this
young man that was destroyed, Like.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
I can't throw it no better, and much was left
on the plate. Think how much yards he would have
had in touchdowns if they just catch.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Half of the balls they dropped. At least thirty plus
footballs this year. Man, That's that's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
All right, Well, I think this debate will continue to to,
you know, be a major conversation because obviously, I think
this is a pretty controversial list that has been put
out as a power ranking.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
But that's the fun of doing things.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
At this point during the course of the year, nobody
really knows what's gonna be what and how it's going
to turn out.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
But we do know this.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
You are listening to Up on Game, and you know what,
we hope you're enjoying Up on Game. We're gonna take
a quick break, and on the other side of that break, well,
we're gonna talk about Jaydon Daniels and mister Neighbors his receivers.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
They made a rookie bet. But did it get canceled?
What happened?

Speaker 3 (34:54):
It got a little bit of attention. We're gonna talk
about it here right now when we take a quick break.

Up on game wherever it is you get your podcasts,
and you'll see this show post it right after we
get off the air. Fellas, before we take this break
into the second hour, there was a story that hit
about well, Jaydon Daniels and Malik Neighbors. They had a
ten thousand dollars bet amid you know, this whole NFL

(36:00):
gambling policy concerns comes out that the two you know,
they made the bet that you know the other would
get the offensive Rookie of the year, they would receive
the most votes. And now that it's become common knowledge,
it's been canceled. They said Friday during respective rookie mini

(36:24):
camps that the bet had been canceled, citing that they
were previously uneducated on the NFL's gambling policy. Should there
be a problem here, Should this be a story? Should
there be an issue that Malik Neighbors and Jaydon Daniels

(36:44):
were going to bet each other ten thousand dollars on
who gets Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 5 (36:48):
No, but and it's not they're not betting on games.
As players, we make bets with each other all the time.
All the time. You may make a bet would a
teammate somebody on another team.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (37:05):
The exact nature of what's going on is actually crazy
because Monday, I will be doing a gambling class with
the NFL so that I can educate the players that
are coming into the league. So I'll be well versed
on this next Saturday. But this Monday, I will be
doing a class to better understand the dudes and the

(37:28):
don'ts and all the language that that goes into this.
But I don't believe this is a problem at all. Now,
they did call the bet off because I guess you
know Malik, he opened his mouth and so they don't
want to have any problems with the National Football League
in this bet.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
So the bet was caught off.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
But looking at it and hearing it for the first time,
I didn't believe it was a problem.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
But like I said, i'll know more after Monday.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
Man the better still on even I'm glad you called
it out. I'm glad nowhere they just told you all
that we fake.

Speaker 6 (38:07):
Come on, many, we know how this thing go. Man, Listen,
the better still on America. Even though they came out
and said it was not knowledgeable about the gambling rules
in the NFL. Listen, we got to get out there
and say to these people that were not gambling anymore.
This is how the text with the phone call went.
And then once they came out and.

Speaker 5 (38:26):
Apologized and they said that they were no longer it
was no longer a friendly wager, they double back soon
they got off the phone, no doubt about it exactly
how it went down.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
That is still on.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
I know it is, Yeah, tell me, I know how
it go. Hey, I'm telling the truth. That's why you're
over there.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Last.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
We're gonna say the badness off.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
But it's still on.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
That is on America. Yeah, yeah, I didn't want to
say that.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Come on, it just ain't on to y'all, y'all. You
know what.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
I guess what since since it ain't only y'all, it
might have went up an unuppen. It might be twenty
now days, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (39:11):
Man, Hey, for neighbors, say, you better hope Daniel Johnes
come through.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
He better hope he comes.

Speaker 6 (39:16):
Oh, bro, you ain't like Jay is in a better situation.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
Man, take cat that Mad raked thirty two out of
thirty two quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
You mads to your boy, you're gonna get rookie any year,
and they got your mad.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Rated below all of the income if drafted rookies.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
That is, that's ugly. How does that work? I need
to understand how does that work? Right there?

Speaker 3 (39:43):
So you guys don't feel like there be and I
know you you got you know some more you know,
deep roads and roads as it applies to representation of
the league. So TJ you you just see it like
definitively as there's no problem here, won't be any type
of you know, kind of investigations or anything.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Now nothing goes. It doesn't go any further than.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
We don't know how to go in the locker room.
Like Penn State played Michigan State. You bet or man,
we bet a car.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
I had a G wagon, Clint Porters had a G
wagon and we made a bet on some game and
we bet pink slips, Like who won?

Speaker 1 (40:16):
I won? Didn't give me the pink slip?

Speaker 3 (40:19):
Oh no, no, yeah, I ain't gonta give me the
bread then you know what I mean, he ain't getting
I mean.

Speaker 4 (40:24):
It happens all the time.

Speaker 5 (40:26):
Playing your boy here on another team, I bet bet
who get more yards? Like if you're a receiver like that,
that happens a lot. And so it just hadn't been
spoken up publicly. But again I don't know more on Monday.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
You know more on Monday.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
Yeah, all right, I'm actually gonna ask that question to
the bet that was made, how does it apply to
the NFL gambler policy.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
I'm gonna ask that exact question so I can get
the answer.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Perfect. Perfect. We got our two coming up.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
We got cups to the Legend coming up as well,
a lot to get to make sure you stay locked
in to un Dan. This is up on game Fox
Sports Radio. Take a quick break and yes we will
be right back.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
That's t J.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
Huschmansada Plex Coberts. I'm LeVar Arrington. Yeah up, one game, baby,
