(00:50):
Denver on Top Minnesota fifty to forty four, we talked
about the underwhelming first half for Anthony Edwards Michael Jordan
just one out of eight from the floor for five points.
And let me just say this, not because he had
a bad first half, but let's just be let's just
be really honest about things now. Is there really a

(01:11):
question as to who is having a better playoff Jalen
Brunson or Anthony Edwards. I mean, really is there? Is
there really a question after the guy.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Has a question? Anybody asked after.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
His fifth forty point game tonight. I mean, I get
that Anthony Edwards is the new flavor of the month,
and here he is. He shows up and he's incredibly athletic,
and he gives us great highlights and he's fun. But
let's understand that James Brudson is dropping over forty points
every other game, and despite the fact that the Pacers
are doing everything to shut him down, It's not like

(01:43):
the TEAMLS where hey we really want to shut down
Anthony Edwards. Well, you got a couple other guys to
deal with if you want to say, hey we want
to shut down Anthony Edwards, because you know, Kat's gonna
score some points here a little bit. And still, you know,
Rudy go Bear is a guy that's gonna fill the
statuet across defensive Player of the year. You have some real,
really good players on that team, and it's Jalen Brunson

(02:04):
and two guys from Villanova. Right. As much as I
love josh Art Dante DiVincenzo. These guys are playing out
of their shoes right now. Man, it is so much fun.
But in the end, everything is designed to stop Jalen
Brunson and still the guy despite the fact he's sixty
two and one ninety five scores forty every other game
finds a way doesn't matter at home on the road

(02:25):
makes no difference. I really, I I know that we
want to look at Edwards and see his physical skills.
It gives us wow highlights. But how can you not
watch what Brunton's doing and go, man, this is the
best player in the NBA right now. He's been the
best player in the playoffs since we tipped off the
very beginning of the.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
NBA Playoffs with your colored glasses, He's.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Been phenomen better.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
He's a great last folk hero in all of this,
There's no question about it. Uh, And it's been fun
to watch, right as much as it pains me to
hear that infernal song, to see the cast have also
rans of years gone by have failed Nick squads lined up?

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Man, you could I said they were classic knicks and
you're talking about it like look at the ruins of
years gone by?

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Well, I mean you're trying to go classic when you
say it's classic North, and it wasn't really good except
for classic cars that appreciate value, and even a lot
of those are just a bunch of heaps rolling around.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Okay, but Stark's got the Knicks to the finals. Latrell
got the Knicks to the finals. They lost both of them.
But these are guys that achieved a little bit in
New York. They know, they know what it's like when
the garden is rocking like it was tonight, like it's
been for the run game.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
They know they also or a Billy Joel concert for that.
But you know they are a Taylor, So I've got
whatever it is. You don't play a game to town.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Whoever, when they play scenes from the Italian restaurant, that
place just blows the roof off.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
There's no question. You hear the beginning of and.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Then they start jumping up and down like they did today,
putting hands on opponents.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Have you ever heard this one live?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Man.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
What I point to you, you say bottle of red.
When I go on the side, I point to you,
you say bottle of light. Ready, here we go.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
I will say this, having seen Billy Joel when he
came out here to San Diego last month. Happily he
didn't do any of that. He just saw the song.
You either saying no, he did not run to the
front of the stage during that one and try to
get the crowd involved. And no, they're either singing along,
swaying along because they're drunk, or they have no idea

(04:35):
and someone dragged them there.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Just leave it at that.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Let's not pander for applause, which I applaud him, and
I all subscribe to his newsletter.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
But yeah, the thing with Edwards, everybody.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Is Patrick Beverley. Now you got to subscribe to his
newsletters right there you go.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
I mean someone tried to foist up Ears odds for
Patrick Beverly's next team earlier today.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I'm like, do I care? No, I don't.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
That's pretty far down the day a list right now
as to where he plays his next basketball after that
soft four game suspension for playing dodgeball with a couple
of fans heads, which reminds me of the joke that
Finch had earlier too, talking about Go Bear's seventy five
thousand dollars. Fine, Miles Finch, Miles Finch, that's rights was

(05:20):
in his little notebook right there.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
It was one of his great ideas.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
So Chris Finch goes for Rudy Gobert, right because he
was fined seventy five k for the money sign. He goes,
So what you're telling me then, is that it was
say ten thousand dollars for the towel toss and then
fifteen thousand dollars for the heat pack.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Is that what we're doing here?

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I think that's where we're at it because.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
People seem to have forgotten that.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
You know, Jamal Murray made the same symbol and well
didn't get anybody paid attention to that.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
But the Edwards thing, right, it's the highlight culture.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Like Jalen Brunson right now is a good cult hero,
and in New York he's a superstar of the highest degree.
You're looking to sell long term, and that's what the
NBA is doing. They're trying to sell the long term.
And while Jalen Bruntson may get a bunch of things
where he bodies a guy away and hits a little
jump shot or you know, hits him three or whatever,

(06:17):
it's it's not getting the same sex appeal for folks
on their highlight reels, although he's got to do more
Anthony Edwards than one for eight if he wants to
hit anybody's highlight reels tonight, because otherwise he's gonna be
saying it was my bad, my fault, I had no energy. Again,
we're gonna hear that same speech before.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It only gets you so far. It's like, I enjoy
when a quarterback says, yeah, those interceptions were my fault. Okay,
stop throwing them right stop. That's great that you're taking
the that's awesome. And maybe it was a bad clear
out by the wide receiver, maybe yeah, but stop throwing
them that. That's what I would like more than is
to not talk about that, but yet we have to
talk about it.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
You do it once and then and then you move on.
At some point it's the defensively they're shutting you down.
How do you or does that make you feel?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
In forty for forty four for brunts and tonight it
was a blowout win. And you know you're gonna hear
from Rick Carlyle in the second And he was mad
after the game tonight? Was he mad about the officiating?
Was he met where the pacers distracted by the Northern Lights.
What was it? Here's Rick Carlyle on what upset him

(07:21):
the most about the Pacers loss of the next tonight
if we all own it, but very embarrassing, very embarrassing,
and a hard lesson and the officials. I have one
hundred and forty two calls that should have gone our

(07:42):
way in the first quarter alone that I'm going to
be submitting to the league tomorrow. Just you know. It's
these small market things again that just keep cropping up
every time he comes to the big city. I don't
know what to say. I don't say about that.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
Well, now you put words in his mouth. Now I
haven't heard the entire the entire transcript.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
But after that said they had no game plan for
Starks and Marbury.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
That was pretty pretty clear. They did not have anybody
to get in between.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
No, I mean, how is that allowed?

Speaker 1 (08:13):
How are they you know? And that's it's a it's
a circus atmosphere at MSG where these guys are, where
you're allowed to be so close to the action, like
Stark's at one point reached out and grabbed TJ McColloch. Me,
that's an absurd It's like, what is happening here? It's
it's you go inside Madison Square Garden, It's like going
through the looking glass. It's like, what is God, I'm

(08:35):
at a table and there's the Mad Hatter, and there's
food and there's all these different what it's Matt, Madison
Square Gardens a different thing, man, It is a different thing.
Where the Knicks that felt like they had seven guys
on the court to night at once, because they did
because a couple of times Marbury and Starks are right there.
But you know, you hear Carlyle complain, right, And here's
here's what I would say. I'm glad he didn't say
something about the officiating.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Sucked.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
I said, I'm glad he didn't complain. I said, I'm
glad he didn't complain. But here's here's what I'm going
to tell you, is that you know it was a
big fail tonight was watching this game, either the Knicks
were able to or the Pacers for some reason felt
comfortable playing an extremely physical game. And when I saw
that going on, I knew the Knicks are going to

(09:20):
win this game. Because the Knicks play physical, right, the
Pacers don't. The Pacers are about pace. They want to
try to exhaust the Knicks. They want to move the
ball fast. They're more of a finesse team. Look, we
talked with this with Rick Buker a week and a
half ago. And when the Knicks play physical, if the
other team tries to do that, guess who that plays into.
That plays into the Knicks hands. And you saw the

(09:43):
Pacers all night. They were physical, they were emotional, and
and everything got away from them. They tried to match
up with the with the Knicks physically and it didn't
and it didn't work, and emotionally you saw almost there
are almost a couple of fights that broke out. The
Knicks were able to do whatever they wanted to. They
either got the Pacers to play their way or I
can't believe coming off of two games, the Pacers decided, Yeah,

(10:05):
we're feeling so confident, we're gonna go in and we're
gonna try to bully our way to a victory. That
was just stupid because I saw the way the Pacers
were playing and I said, they're not coming back in
this game. What are they doing this? Listen, this is
the worst strategy you could possibly have against the Knicks,
who are gonna use their home court. They're gonna get
the whistles because you get more whistles home court team,
and it happens that way, and they're gonna use their

(10:26):
physicality try to win this game, and the Pacers got
away from doing what they were doing. It's almost like
the Pacers walked in thinking, we got this. Now, we
know exactly what to do. We did it the last
couple of games. They're exhausted. We broke their will on
Sunday in Game four, when really it was a hey,
this was our game. We were up big early and

(10:46):
the Knicks players all rested and played twenty five twenty
eight minutes. That was the reality of what it was.
The Pacers thought it was something different. Oh we're gonna
go to and the Knicks came in and said, okay,
second quarter, we're taking over. And I really mean, I
watched this And that's the biggest thing I'm surprised about
is that not that the Knicks won, but the Knicks
one so easy, and they won so easy because the

(11:07):
Pacers just lost who they were and start trying to
play Knicks basketball, like, okay, they try to do that.
That's the big w for the Knicks right there. I
don't know what Rick Carlisle was going if you couldn't
stop it or it just got away from him. But boy,
that was a huge mistake. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I mean, you had a couple of instances, Turner hits
a couple of threes, and you're starting to get back
into it, and then just like that, you stop moving
the ball. You're trying to get down into the knicks pace, physicality,
et cetera. It's just not gonna work right. And that's
the one thing I think that comes out of this.
There's a respect and you know, at some point, you know,

(11:45):
people like when the Warriors changed the game, people got
tired of it. The happy go lucky Nick story'll hit
its point where people are annoyed by it. The bully
ball and revert reverting somewhat towards those eighties and nineties
dial of play. But generally we know with playoff basketball,
it's gonna be rough and tumble. You're gonna allow them

(12:06):
to be more physical, and that's not how the Pacers
are built. So every time they got sucked into that,
you know, jawing or chirping with Devincenzo or hart it
all started to unravel. And Hartenstein was just dominating in
the low post on the boards. Right, twelve offensive rebounds?
What do they have twenty twenty twenty game? Right, they

(12:29):
out rebounded by twenty four, which is just absurd. And
they had twice as many turnovers, you know where you're
trying to work on the inside, like keep moving the
ball around and find your open shooter because the opportunity
was there, because they certainly were gonna slump down into
the lane and not allow for easy baskets. That's the

(12:50):
thing for Indiana all night, right, there was nothing that
was gonna come simple for them, and they got lulled
into it. So as soon as they started getting back
into the game, guess what one or two big shit
the other way of Brunson three, a devincenzo dunk that
ended up getting you know that little fracas with with
Turner on that that they had to be separated and

(13:11):
they had to go to the review I mean, how
many reviews did we see over the course of the night.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
What are throat? No I play on? Got?

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Salter didn't have to do anything tonight. Hey, guys, that
was an easy night for me.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
He got well, he went to the review button. You
certainly got a lot of FaceTime it was just boys
being boys.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Move on.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Well, it was like I didn't have to worry about
extending anything tonight. It was just Look, it was the
Knicks one by thirty.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
What do you want me to just wait for those
makeup calls in game six?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Go back to Indiana. But yeah, for Rick Carlisle, I
mean I think he said it best. It was an embarrassment, right,
you got bullied from pillar to post, and you're attempts
at rebounding.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
We're just a joke.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
I mean, you watched guy and we've seen it with
Josh Hard. I mean he's turned into a masterclass kind
of thing. You know that you can subscribe to the
art of rebounding if you're under six six let's go.
Uh So, opportunity knocks and now you're on the the
precipice of vanquishing these guys and maybe setting up a
date here very quickly with the Boston Celtics.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Good theater awaits.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Exit out about a Fresco exit, swollen dome, The Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon nix. Yo,
look at the Knicks. I thought they were but everybody
said they were done. They were good. Yesterday's no no, no, we're.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Gonna run out again.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
I said at some point the magic cardk nobody's I
said it sometimes.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
No, No, I didn't that they were gonna need spreet
Well to come in and shoot some threes.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Guys, Yeah, listen, it's gonna end at some point.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
But do they have any was so good whis on
team us A?

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, Well, well I can't be not. I think he's
showing everybody. Maybe I should have been the point guard
over Tyrese Halliburton. Oh, maybe it should have been me.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Maybe maybe he took that personally and that's why he's
going out all gun.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Oh if he's answering questions of the post came using
an iPad, then you know he's taking it personally.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Line, he was so good, he would have cracked the roster.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Yeah, if the Lakers were so good, they'd still be
in the play Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
They got seventeen championships because they are so good.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Yeah, but what happened this year? What happened this year?
It's good that you have a break. You have to
worry about watching Lakers playoffs this year.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
The Knicks are good for the first time in twenty
five years.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
People said the Knicks, we're done last night night. Now
they're gonna walk back. That takes tomorrow. Why why? Cause
they got it wrong for the Knicks. Why what? Fox
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon Right now, three and a half to go

(17:23):
in the third quarter. Nuggets on top of the tea
wolve seventy six sixty five, Anthony Edwards picking up where
he left off in the first half. He is two
for ten from the floor for eleven points. Meanwhile, Nikole
yolkits twenty five points, twelve assists, five rebounds, the starting
five for the Nuggets, doing just about all the damage
so far, but still a long way to go. Three

(17:45):
and a half to go in the third quarter. We'll
have more on this game coming up, but oh, by
the way, before we get to the NFL Mike. Oh,
by the way, it's gonna be glorious tomorrow watching everybody
on TV and the radio walk back their knee jerk
to Nick.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
Game four the Knicks, You're done, They're done. They're not
gonna another game. They're finished. They're finished in this series.
They're absolutely done. Look at them, they're all cooked. This
series is over.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
It's gonna be so great to watch them walk that
back tomorrow because it's not like the Knicks out lasted
the Pacers or the officiating gave them a win where
it was a night ninety one eighty nine win. The
Knicks boat raced them and bruntson scored forty four. What
are you gonna say, Oh, yeah, yeah, everybody wants to
jetge like everybody just started watching the Knicks. Oh you know,

(18:31):
well you can't do it with five. Yeah, okay, that's
what we've been saying. It's gonna run out a luck
at some point. But do the Knicks have enough for
this series? Sure they do. They have enough for two
more wins now one more win, of course they do.
And here they were tonight and it was all on display,
and it's gonna be awesome watch appeal. I bet you
people just ignore it. And just like I never said that.
I never thought the Knicks were done. Boy, look how

(18:52):
good the Knicks are. I never said that. Don't look
how good the Knicks. Oh, look at the Knicks. Look
at the Knicks. I can't wait to see if people
walk that back to me.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
I'll tell you what I'm gonna make any Boulder prediction. Okay,
I will spend not one minute listening to, watching or
searching for any of these people's maya kulpas or explanations
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
I don't care, Like, I don't.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Care what other people. You're a fun hater man, that's
fun tomorrow. Well it's fun for you, you're a Knicks
fair for me. I'm like, look, I've already talked about it.
Like you saw more apologies before this series.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
About the the acumen and aptitude and heart of Jalen
Brunson than I think I'd ever seen in decades being
in this business.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
I don't know Joe Kim Noah, they always said he
had hard at every game he went out there played.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
No, he had hair, he was hard, he was but
he played hard if that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
No, But but like for Jalen Brunson, right, dismissed for
his contract, dismissed for everything else. And then you add
a bunch of people doing the apology tour as the
Nick started rolling and he started having these games. So
you've already gotten a bunch of that coming off the
burial on Sunday. It was more or less say, all right,
is this the final act? Have they?

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Are?

Speaker 4 (20:07):
They spent? Which I think is a fair discussion, didn't
mean they were going to go down without a fight.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Now.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
I really thought that the Pacers would be smarter than
to engage in a fight today and would try to
play their normal game, you know, the one that actually
created the thirty point burial the other night.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Sure, but they did not.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
They got goaded into a street fight, and you had
Turner and other people getting after it with Hart and
Stunt and Devincenzo whatever, like that's not your game, that's
not your identity, and they got slapped around and then
getting your getting hands put on you by former Knicks
Classic Knicks, as you call.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
The Classic Knicks. You liked it, I run that Classic.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
I think it's it's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
The Classic.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Well, remember when they tried new coke and then it
was a Coca Cola Classic and then New Coke sucked,
so it quietly got phased out really fast. Yeah, well,
I mean, if it was truly Coca Cola Classic, we
got to go back to the original recipe.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Sure, let's go New co What was what was Crystal pepsi? Right?

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Oh yeah, Crystal Pepsi? Yeah that was a winner.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Too, Yeah it was. It was because it was it
was crystal clear. Hey, this is gonna.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Work well, like your zema that you used to drink.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
This is I haven't I've had.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
A zema since Xavior McDaniel was playing for the Knicks's.
But but the point being that, you know, yeah, maybe
maybe you get some of that tomorrow. But remember a
lot of folks in our business will keep telling you
the same thing for a decade, and then when it
finally happens, they say, see, I told you, guy either

(21:43):
gets older, bones, become brittle or retired or whatever happens.
Like I told you that was gonna happen. Look, and
maybe that's what they're waiting for on the Knicks, whether
it's this series or next. See, I told you they
could run it out with five guys, And I'll.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Be the first guy to tell you Obviously there's an
extra day off before game before game six because Caitlin
Clark's got our Indiana home debut on Thursday night, which
everybody's gonna be watching. So there's a hey, I'm fine
with that. I'm fine with that. So you're also talking
about now there could be an extra day for Ogiano
Nobi to come back because game six was always the target.

(22:19):
But I have already said, hey, you know what, Friday night,
I expect the Pacers to win this game. I expect
them to go in and win. I expect them to
win big, and I would be surprised the Knicks sit there, guys,
in advance of Game seven on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
If it's the home team wins every game, you know what,
That's why the Knixt bus and they're asked to finish
in second place. Right, That's why you don't try to

(22:40):
play too much politics in the in the end of
the regular season, saying we want to play this team,
we don't want to play this team. We want to
play The Knicks went for the second seed and they
got it. And now how big of a deal does
that look? Having home court advantage? Just think about that
for a second, and when everybody else is losing games
and sitting people, we don't want to play this team
in the first round. Here the nick said, screw it,
We're going for the second. Can see, we don't care

(23:01):
who we play. We want home court. And now how
important does it look? Well?

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Part of it was to disgrace Doc Rivers. The other
part was man top TiO knows no other way. Tim says, hey,
let's go for the second wise we have home court advantage. No,
that'll screw Doc Rivers. Man, let's do it. What two
three screwed Doc?

Speaker 1 (23:18):
On three? What two three screwed Doc?

Speaker 4 (23:20):
But he knows no other way? And that's you know,
it only costs you O g on andobi along the way.
But uh no, we'll watch with with baited breadth on Friday.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
I mean, and I just saw some more.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Highlights of Rick Carlyle up here in the tirerac dot
Com Fox Sports Radio studios, and I keep waiting for
him to start busting out into country roads, looking a
little bit like Mark Strong country roads.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Yeah, you know, little Kingsman part two. Come on?

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Now, when I look at him on the sidelines, now
I feel like Rick Carlisle is from the future, Like
does does he look like someone who's come back in
time from the field. I would wear a lot.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Of those black turtlenecks, like those jobs running around.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
He's on the sideline. I've seen this game. I don't
know why I'm here. I know the final score. We
lose by it beamed in. I gotta get back into
my space ship. I mean it's like he's I think
Rick Carlisle, it's from the future, and it's so postgame
press converts. I want him to say, way, do you
see how this series turns out? I think I'm complaining
about the calls? Wait do you see? Well, what do
you mean? I've said too much already. I'm sorry, I
can't tell you anymore.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
This is one though, where he's got to figure out
how to match the celebrity row in Indiana.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
This is it.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
No all expense man, no, no no stone unturned. Anybody
that claims Indiana as their birthplace, Okay, needs to be there,
you know, to rival the effect of the classic Nicks.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
All right, so off the off the top of my head,
you want Larry Bird, right, Larry Bird? You want axl Rose?

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Yeah, absolutely right, Rose unless Guns of Ros has been
on tour for like six off tour right now, I
mean is off with the Conspirators and oh that's right.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
He's yeah, no, it sounds good. I mean, I don't
know if you saw the track list. He's got a
lot of people coming in. He's Ryan Johnson and stuff.
He's got like a different lead singer on every song.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Doesn't he Yeah, I've heard a couple of Mick Foley.
There you go.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
You want John Mellencamp, right, you want John Mellencampeah, he's
divisive though, right now, I mean Ryan Murphy. He's got
Ryan Murphy up in there, and latterman's got to show up.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Well, Caitlyn Clark has to be there.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Janet Jackson, Uh oh.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Okay, well boy, I like to say I haven't seen
Janet Jackson in the year.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Brendan Fraser.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Okay, now that like Adam Lambert could come out wanting
the national anthem.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
I'm bud.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Now I want to see Brendan Fraser sitting next to
Janet Jackson, sitting next to Axl Rose, That's what I
want to.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
Say, sitting next to Pat McAfee.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Sure, I mean, if you really wanted to go back
into Indiana. Lore, we can have a representative for Scatman Cruthers.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Oh, come on, man, too soon, too soon, too soon.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
I have to bring that up.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
I just wanted to celebrate Scatman Cruthers showing up in
my list of famous people from Indiana.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
I love Scotman Caruthers. He was so important in the
Shining until he wasn't you also go, what's it? Is it?
David ly Roth is from Indiana, right, David Roth?

Speaker 3 (26:11):
There you go get him too?

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yeah, okay, all right, you can get some people. I mean,
I don't know if you want to go on Craigslist
and do it and say, hey calling off famous people.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Yeah, but if we do that, yeah, he's from Heremilton
there you go. So like if we do this, I
mean we we could really get an all star. I mean,
if nothing else, we'd have one hell of a concert.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yeah it would be. Yeah, it would be because is
he straddling would be there. He's from Indiana actually, so
we're friends. Yep, yeah, yep.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
He can get to show up yep.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
You know instead of being in a music video with
a sign that says where's Izzy.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
That's that's how it works.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Like that there you go be going deep diving here, man,
I gotta find something with a home court advantage.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Yeah, walk back, walk back, those takes off. All the
Knicks were done. Oh, they were so exhausted, they were finished.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Look I'll tell you from they were heroes just for
one Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Look, from the beginning, this was gonna be a seven
game series. This was how it was gonna go. I
will not be surprised. Look if the Knicks, the Knicks
are gonna show up and and and come out and
try to win this thing on Friday night. But much
like Game four, if it gets out of hand early,
the Knicks are gonna sit back and get ready for
Game seven. And this is the biggest thing for Anonnobe

(27:21):
is that, Okay, it's a free game because if somehow
the Pacers won this one and they're going home tr
It's like Anonoby almost has to play because it would
have been the Pacers once again working the Knicks. And
and if you and and since losing him, you saw
what's happened to the Knicks in this series. But now
it's they have they have a freebie game. So I
would expect if it's like another game where it's thirty
four to fourteen guys are gonna sit and you're gonna

(27:43):
see all kinds of Knicks guys that you saw for
like two minutes tonight. They're gonna play like twenty five
minutes on Friday night, and they we'll get ready. They
may they may just take the guy. They may just
take Brunson and Devincenzo and Heart out of the game
and put them on a plane right away. Wait wait,
you a manue, don't look, wait till the end of
the game. No, no, no, just go, just go. If we
have to, if I have to put back in the game,
will whatever, don't worry about it. I got hey, uh,

(28:03):
some classic knixer here. We're just gonna give them jerseys
to put it back in. Mellow came to the game,
and uh uh Spreewall came to the game. I'm just
gonna put them in, give them jersey. The comeuntain play.
It's all good. Put it back in.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
Let him Why not let him do it. I mean,
Adam Silver is not gonna do anything about it.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Let him fly.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
These guys weren't eligible, nah whatever.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
And Dolan thinks they probably still play on the team,
so it doesn't matter. Oh look at Mellow. Yeah, he's
still really good.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
Dolan's still celebratinglyn Sanity.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
The hell of a couple of weeks.

Speaker 8 (28:34):
Let me tell you, Cands, you just seem like you
go a knock on Dolan's door and he opens it up.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
But he's wearing Alysanity T shirt.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Listen, Phil, I told you I'm not changing out how
we're doing things.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
I forgetting better than those two weeks.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
And he's got a SA McDaniel x men Jersey. Hey,
what are you guys doing? What's going on here? Okay?

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Great?

Speaker 8 (28:59):
But I could the Lyn Sanity T shirt, the orange
one that just says Lin Sanity and blue across the frame.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
And they sold a lot of units of that.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
I've seen many of them at Goodwills and Salvation Army
stores across this great land.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
You know, got his dory office. Yeah, drinking a new cocaine.
What are you guys doing? Oh, just wanted to see
how things are going, mister Dolan.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Thanks now you got them living. What was that? Eighty five?
Eighty six?

Speaker 1 (29:29):
New Boy, Oh boy, oh boy, the Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harver. There you go, go,
New York, Go, New York, Go, uh, coming up next.
Speaking of never a dull moment, we get into well,
last night we found out we know what the opening
night game in the NFL is gonna be. We talked
about the Ravens and the Chiefs. We now know what

(29:50):
the opening night game of Monday Night Football is gonna be.
And oh boy, is it a doozy. And there's gonna
be a surprise in this game too, just like Opening
Night last year. It's coming up next right here, Jayson.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox Sports.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Radio, The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike
Harmon YO and that maybe lights out for the Minnesota
Timberwolves an open court Steele to Nicola Jokic for the jam.
Seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Nuggets now
lead the Timberwolves ninety eight to eighty. For Jokic, He's
got thirty seven thirty seven in a row, twelve assists,

(30:36):
six rebounds, fourteen out of eighteen from the floor. He
is doing everything tonight again, very subpar night for Anthony Edwards.
He has fourteen points on three out of thirteen shooting,
So seven minutes ago, it looks like the Nuggets are
gonna head to game six up three games too.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Look at you.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
You just hate the future the way you just put
the pejoratives on top of Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
I'm I'm just saying he's having a base three out
of thirteen. He's having a bad game.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
He's gonna tell you that he didn't come out with
the proper energy.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Listen, he's not Jalen Brunson. I understand he's not Jalen.
Get it, I get stop, just stop stop. You would
trade every player on the Lakers for Jalen Brunson. You
would trade you would trade a D and Lebron for
Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Are you I would trade Browny for.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Once you draft him in the second round, he'll be
there for you.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
So, in advance of the NFL schedule lease tomorrow, which
we're gonna have all the big games, know who's playing
in all the big games across the country and who's
gonna play in all the big primetime games on Sunday, Monday,
Thursday nights. Today we found out what the opening night
game is going to be for Monday Night Football right
Thursday night. We talked about it last night Ravens and

(31:50):
the Chiefs. Monday Night Football. Your opening game is the
New York Jets against the San Francisco forty nine Ers.
That is your open night game. And I'll be the
first guy to tell you just like the Lions did
last year by winning in Kansas City opening night. Hey,
maybe the Lions are pretty good and they came within

(32:12):
a couple of bad Dan Campbell decisions. Are going to
the super Bowl. The Jets are gonna announce themselves as
super Bowl contenders with a win. This This roster is
one of the best rosters in the NFL. It's time
as long as eight is ready and healthy. And that's
the big thing. If Aaron Rodgers gets hurt again, everything
goes out the window. But he's healthy. This team should

(32:35):
win the AFC East and they should be a big
time super Bowl threat because their defense is a top
three unit. They got better in the offseason getting a
Son Reddick. They got better at wide receiver drafting Malachai Corley,
getting Mike Williams. Even though Mike Williams, who knows when
he's gonna play. This team is absolutely loaded. They are
loaded they are ready and for all the time you

(32:56):
want to spend going on, Aaron Rodgers keeps doing these
crazy andrews. I know, I know, I know, But talent wise,
this team, it's time. This is a Jets year. You said,
Aaron Rodgers. It would have been last year too, but
Aaron Rodgers wasn't healthy. Aaron Rodgers got hurt after five snaps. Right,
this is where Aaron Rodgers is healthy. The Jets have
the year this year like they did last year, except

(33:18):
it's gonna even be better because the defense will be
even better than it was a year ago. The offense
is better. Watch out. The Jets will go into San
Francisco opening night. Brock Perty is gonna go, what the
hell happened? Man? I thought the Chiefs defense was tough,
This is gonna be even more difficult. Good luck against
Sauce Gardner, good luck against Dj Reed, good luck against
his secondary. The Jets are gonna come in with the winning.

(33:38):
People are gonna go, hey, wait, maybe maybe this Jets
super Bowl stuff is something we got to take serious.
Watch what happens on Monday nights.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
The fandom just takes over once again.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
But you know, I was talking to Rick Carlisle and
since he is from the future, he gave me this.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
No, he's down, he's down, she's ankle. Why why do
we got to keep playing this? Why do I got
to keep her living this? Wow?

Speaker 4 (34:10):
I mean you never is it's a Monday night. I
mean they're tempting fate. Why are we going to get
a run out with a flag again? In the forty
nine ers home field. I'm running out with the floor?

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Why not?

Speaker 4 (34:22):
And I'm gonna plant it in the middle of It's
like you're a you're in a college environment, and here
come the he runs out with a Jets flag and
he tries to plant it and he hurts himself.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
That happened six and a half point dogs.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
In doesn't matter. Look and here and here's the best part, right,
here's the best part.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
You're banking on your offensive mind keeping that guy up.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Right, Hey, it's one game. If the offensively can't do
it for the first game when they're all fresh, then we're.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
All That's where I'll take the I'll take the offense
that gets orchestrated by the forty nine Ers with a
couple of months of tinkering versus Hackett.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Well River. It's not Hacket. It's Rogers, all right, Aaron
rod Aaron Rodgers. They brought him in last year to
cover up everything. He's the you know he is. He's
the big coat of white paint that you bring into
a room to go, oh my god, this room has
scratches and stuff. What what do we do? Well, you know,
we're still gonna have all the problems. But if we
painted over with white paint, it's gonna look new. Yeah,

(35:19):
but we're still gonna have that. It doesn't matter. It's
gonna look brand new. It's gonna be great. People will think, oh,
what a great room. This is Aaron Rodgers, the big
can of white paint that covers everything up. And that's
what he's gonna do when he shows up and is
ready for this, and.

Speaker 5 (35:30):
Leonard Floyd with another sack, Oh my god, Rogers is down.
You know he's on the Niners.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Yeah. No, I'm not a big fan that. Yeah, no,
I know, I know. He's the guy that hurt Rodgers
last year. I'm not a big fan of.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
That, not.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Itself. Aaron. What did you see out there?

Speaker 4 (35:48):
Well, like I told you in all the interviews I did,
sometimes I see ghosts.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
No, no, no, no no, no, no, no no no.
That's Sam Darnold. That's Minnesota Week one. Okay, that's what
it is.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
It's not this Iahwa's convisions.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Watch the Jet and watch when we fight out tomorrow.
I'll go over under. The Jets play at least five
primetime games. At least five five five King Kong Bundy five.
They play five primetime games, get ready.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
And then they'll get flexed out once he gets hurt.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Exit out about a Fresca exit swollen dome coming up next,
A basketball story unlike anyone you may have ever heard.
