In Hong Kong, US Commerce Secretary Gina Ramando says tough
US trade policy on China is working. She cites as
an example Huawei's latest smartphone. The Commerce Secretary says it
shows China remains behind in cutting edge chip technology. She

The export controls are working because that chip is not
nearly as good. It's years behind what we have in
the United States. We have the most sophisticated semiconductors in
the world. China doesn't. We've out innovated China.

Ramando has vowed to take the strongest possible actions to
protect US national security. TikTok is said to be ready
to remove a key executive responsible for convincing the US
the company is doing the right thing on American national security.
Bloomberg is reporting the company will lay off Eric Anderson,
the US based general council for TikTok and its owner

byt Dance. A TikTok spokesperson said the reports about Anderson's
removal are false. US House passed new sanctions on Iran's
oil sector. The sanctions are set to become part of
a foreign aid package, and they're expected to pass the
Senate within days. Tesla has cut prices across China, Europe
and the United States after disappointing sales contributed to swelling inventory.

Tesla's Model three and Model Y both got price reductions
of about two thousand dollars. The two models also saw
price cuts in the US. Tesla also slashed the price
of the driver assistance software FSD by a third. The
price cuts came after the company reported its first year
on year sales drop since the early days of the
pandemic in China. Tesla's market share strength to around six

point seven percent in the fourth quarter of twenty twenty three.
Tesla stock is down more than forty percent this year.

Ukraine President Vladimir Zelenski says new US support could give
Ukraine the boost it needs in its war against Russia.
Zelenski spoke through an interpreter on NBC's Meet the Press.

if Ukraine really gets the weapons system which we need
so much, which thousands of soldiers need so.

have been pressing their advantage in weaponry and manpower over Ukraine.
Zelenski said the AID will give Ukraine a chance to
take the initiative. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Ettanyahu has condemned
or reported U as planned to sanction an ultra Orthodox
army battalion. The sanction is tied to alleged human rights

abuse is in the West Bank. The move could fuel
tensions over Israel's war against Tomas in Gaza. The unit
has been accused of mistreating Palestinians. Former President Donald Trump
does not have much cash left to pay his legal bills.

According to campaign finance filings, Donald Trump spent four point
nine million dollars on legal fees in March, leaving the
former president with just six point eight million dollars left
in the accounts he uses to pay his lawyers. Trump
will have to find more money for his legal defense,
and could seek to raise the money from donors, pay
the lawyers of his own money, or ask the Republican
National Committee to cover the bills. So far, Trump has

paid around sixty two million dollars in legal fees since
January of last year using his Save America pack. President
Biden and the Democratic Party meanwhile have a war chest
of one hundred and ninety two million dollars that' swice
the size of Trump's Dan Schwartzman Bloomberg Radio.

The debris and wreckage removal process has been stepped up
in Baltimore to open the main shipping channel, Bloomberg's Amy Morris.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore revealed this week crews have removed
more than eleven hundred tons of steel from the wreckage site.
The US Army Corps of Engineers priorities include clearing the
Federal Channel, refloating and removing the cargo ship that slammed
into the bridge, and then clearing the remaining wreckage. Officials
have set a goal to fully reopen the port of Baltimore,
