Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I have put together some of my favorite radio moments
here to share with you on our daily podcast. What
in the world is going on in your world? Is
there peace in your heart? Is there peace in your home?
(00:27):
Is there peace in your job situation? Or is there
stress everywhere? Yeah, go to work and it's stressful. You
go home and it's stressful, and there's really no place
to go to escape the stress. Maybe what you gotta
do is you gotta go look in the mirror. Go
(00:49):
take a good look in the mirror and say ask yourself,
is there something you're doing to contribute to the stress?
And better yet, is there something you are not doing
that could lower the stress. Are there choices you could
be making that would lower the stress. I am here
(01:11):
to help you let some of that stress just wash away.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Hi, Jennifer, Hey, welcome aboard. What can I do for you?
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Well, I just kind of have a rough time. I
just wanted to see if you could play me a
song of some kind of inspirations. My husband and I
are kind of going through a real hard time money wise,
and we've kind a tear old and a three month
old and stress factor is just really high right now.
I live with my mom and my stepdad at the moment,
(01:45):
and we're trying to get enough money to buy a
place and they're having many problems.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
And okay, okay, okay, slow down, breath. Do your babies
have diapers?
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
And do your babies have food in their belly?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Is there a roof over your head? So God is
meeting all of your needs. You're safe, you're warm, your loved,
your children have their basic needs met. So any stress
that you are under is going to diminish your quality
of life. Yes, if you are stressing, you're not going
(02:19):
to be emotionally available to your kids.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
You're going to be grumpy. Yeah, and you already probably
have enough of that grumpiness going on with postpartum yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
And not enough sleep yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
All those physical changes we go through for months after delivery.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Oh, definitely.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
So stop Jennifer worrying about money right now. There's a wonderful, wonderful,
wonderful book that's been around for thousands of years, and
it says, if God cares for the needs of the sparrows,
how much more will he care for yours?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
That's very true.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
If he makes sure that the sparrows have a tree
to land in and food to feed them. He will
make sure you have what you need. Maybe not what
you want right now. You'd like to be on your own,
you'd like to have your own place, you'd like your
own house, blah blah blah here, but right now you're
with family that loves you. And even though they're difficult
and get on your last nerve and you get on
their last nerve, your babies are fed and you're safe here.
(03:16):
So stop stressing, honey.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
The last thing your baby needs is a stressed out mama.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
He needs you to have peace in your heart, and
he needs mama to know that God will provide all
your needs. Hi, good evening. You've called the Delilah Show.
Who is this? Missus?
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Natalie?
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Welcome? What can I do for you?
Speaker 6 (03:45):
I was wondering if you could play this song fte
song by what her name is?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
But Rachel Platton?
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Yes, because I've been having a tough week and just
dealing with the adult life of paying and not having
enough money for anything and kind of swift me out.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Okay, Natalie, how old are you?
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Thirty four?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
So you've been adulting for a while and you just
you're ready to hang it up for a night.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
That's why I listen to you. Can you bring such
mom the attributions to the people.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Can you pull your car into the garage or off
the side of the road and then climb in the
back seat with a blanket like you did when you
were a kid and your mom made you listen, and like,
pretend you're not adulting for just a minute. Can you
do that?
Speaker 6 (04:36):
I wish about to leave work, but I'm not driving still, so.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
See whoever is driving, Just climb in the back seat
with a blankey and pretend you're a teenager and your
mom's making you listen to me. And then you know
you won't You won't feel so stressed.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Can you do that?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I can do that all right, and I will play
that song for you.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
That's my my friend Rachel Platton, who I did a
podcast with and so now I call her my new
best friend. But she is an amazing woman and I
know she would be thrilled to know that that song
inspires you.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
It does.
Speaker 6 (05:14):

I wanted you to put a song for me and
my husband. We've been married twenty six years. And I
need a song and make me a little happy because
I'm kind of depressed today because I got so much
to do. I work eight hours, I go to school
eight hours. I go to school from nine in a
morning to foty afternoon. I go to work from four
(05:50):
thirty to twelve thirty at night.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Okay, I need to watch me.
Speaker 7 (05:54):
Yea, why are you?
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Why are you beating yourself up like this with this
crazy schedule.
Speaker 7 (05:58):
Anna, because I want to be a CNA.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
So how long is the program that you're in.
Speaker 7 (06:04):
It's like five weeks?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Oh, good for it. Well see, that's that's doable.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Yeah that's not like if it were five years, I'd
say you're insane.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
But you'll do it.
Speaker 7 (06:12):
And I got phol guys at home.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
You will, you will, you will do this. You will
get your CNA certificate.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
You will be able to get more money, bless more people,
and slow down a little bit in a few weeks.
Speaker 7 (06:26):
I'm getting tired.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, I know you are, But hanging there.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
I have my dad living with me, I have my
my husband and my two boys.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Well, good, the men can take care of the house
for you while you're.
Speaker 7 (06:38):
Yeah right, yeah right, you won't do nothing.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Uh huh no, no, no, I'll play a song for
you if you put your foot down when you get
home and say, I'm not your maid. I'm going to school,
i'm working, I'm doing everything.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
You guys need to step up to the plate.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
And help me out here.
Speaker 7 (06:54):
I'll try.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Okay, we got a deal, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 7 (06:57):
Okay, you do your show work and I listen to
you every night. I've listened to you who he is,
but I never got a chance to got to talk
to you.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
You go take care of those sweet people, and I
will place.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
On for you.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
Thank you, God, bless you, Lord, bless you, honey.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
By bye, Hi, Delilah, how are you, Paula?
Speaker 3 (07:19):
I'm good. What can I do for you?
Speaker 5 (07:21):
I needed some encouragement tonight. I knew you'd be the
person who would understand. I'm feeling a little guilty for
a losing my positive attitude I usually have. I'm a
single mom and it's been four years and I have
a lot to be thankful for, but some days I
just like the past two it's been real hard thinking
(07:42):
about if I will be alone with my kids until
they're gone.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
You know what we call that, paula future tripping, That's
what it's called future tripping. You're tripping out about the
future and it's not even here yet.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
It's true, that's definitely looking too far ahead.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Yeah, I mean, why worry about tomorrow and who is
or isn't going to be there? When you got to
day to fill with joy and love?
Speaker 5 (08:06):
And I do. I have so much. Hunter and Mallory
have done so wonderfully, and I feel guilty even wishing
for more. But I guess sometimes, well.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
There's certainly nothing wrong with wanting somebody to love you
and hold you in their arms and sweep you off
your feet and look deep in your eyes and say
all those romantic things. That's a love need that your
children can't fill. And there's nothing wrong with desiring that.
But getting all upset and stressed out thinking it's never
going to come is pretty silly because you don't know
(08:38):
what tomorrow holds, you don't know what tomorrow brings, and
worrying about it it's just going to steal your joy
in the air. Now.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Yeah, I don't like that, it's done that, it's been
a long twenty four hours.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Yeah, you know, if you just live in the moment,
and it's so hard to do. At times we're either
beating ourselves up about the past or stressing about the future.
You can just live in this present moment and love
it to the fullest, and live it to the fullest.
You'll have so much joy. And then when God does
bring that special someone along, you'll have a smile on
(09:10):
your face instead of stressed out increase wrinkle in your forehead.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Yeah, my kids know it, stressed like they see it
two opposite time. For the most part, thanks are really
wonderful for.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Well you just focus on this present time, this gift
that you've got right now. Okay, let me see what
I can do for you.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
I'll share more with you
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
