Twenty-four year old postal worker David Berkowitz, an admitted Satanist, would later claim his neighbors dog was possessed by a demon that was ordering him to kill. The police were powerless to help, so much so that they reached out to the Mafia for assistance in getting the killer, known as The Son of Sam, off the streets.
