Speaker 1 (00:05):
You're listening to Studio twenty two.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
We're rocking now, ready to talk about Brock's movie on Netflix,
number one Netflix movie globally called Players. We are ready
to rock. Thank yeah, Alessandra, will you look like Messi
the soccer player. That's the best compliment I've ever gotten
in my entire life. Thank you, Julie. Don't jinx it

(00:30):
trying not to. But we're good now. So we're smooth,
smooth operator.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Rock. What's going on?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Let's dive into it? Man, shall we?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Let's do it? I mean we're here right.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Absolutely. So you were alongside Gina Rodriguez, Lisa Kochi, Marlon
Wayne's Junior just to name a few. But what was
it like doing that scene with Gina?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
That was awesome? I remember I was in New York
for a couple.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Of weeks waiting to film, and I remember getting set
and you get your you know, wardrobe, you do hair
and makeup and all that stuff before you get getting
ready to go film.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
And I remember getting a set.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
And I looked at the wardrobe and it was so
funny because I'm like, why do I have camo underwear?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Like? What is why? Why?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
I couldn't figure it out and then I realized, you know,
obviously the scene got a little hot and heavy, but
I just thought it was like such a random Yeah,
it was just such like a random, funny little note
that they added, you know, as like just a little
little gem, and you have to really look to even
notice it, I think. Anyways, but that was like my
first I was like, this is gonna be hilarious. And

(01:51):
then I met Gina and Eliza, who I knew from
uh doing Boo I'm Ada Halloween with I think I
think it was are both of our first movies. Liza's
freaking amazing, Gina is amazing, and they were shooting a
bowling alley scene and I came a few days early
just to meet him and just the Salty Earth and

(02:14):
Trish Tousai, who's the director, is just amazing. But yeah,
going into the scene, I remember talking with Gina about
it and we're kind of like, you know, figuring out
the scene because I think it was one of the
last scenes.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
That they filmed on the movie.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
But it was the kind of the opening scene, or
it is one of the opening scenes kind of sets
up the entire film, so we wanted to get it right.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
But Gina.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
I remember being a little bit nervous because and I
was like, what do you what are you nervous about it?
I was like, if anyone should be nervous as me,
just because she's so experienced and so talented and incredible,
and she was because she's like, well, She's like, I've
you know, I've played a virgin for seven years and
i haven't done anything like this. And I'm like, Okay, well,

(03:00):
don't worry. Everything's all right. I just did Euphoria where
I was butt naked.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
So right, right, we can do whatever you want. I'm
comfortable with anything.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
I wanted her to feel safe and good and so
that we could just really just enjoy you know, that
scene and making it come across as good as it could.
And I think that interaction just of like there's no pressure,
there's no stress, Like we can do as little or
as much that the scene calls for, and you know,

(03:31):
just us communicating, and then Trish there too, being an
incredibly talented female director as well. It just kind of
set the tone. And I grew up with women, you know,
like a single mother and my sisters and stuff, so
I'm not like in here trying to take advantage of
a situation or like not being empathetic to a woman's
standing or or you know, point of view I think

(03:51):
in that situation, and it just made the thing so
natural and so easy, and that we literally, like I
remember at the end of it, we're like, we gotta
do have a movie together.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
This is so fun.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Like we talked about the actual premise of the film,
and well, I thought it was so so great and
so the way and the way the story goes to
it's just such a good film. And then to see
it come out and to be received so well by
you know, everybody, even though I was in a small part,
it was a small part of a now a you know,
number one globally, you know global Netflix film, So that's

(04:23):
pretty cool. Uh, everyone in the in the in the
film did such a good job. You know, you got
Tom Ellis, Uh, it's just so talented. Damon, Wayne's just
everybody was just topp tier and you could tell that
they had all had such great chemistry, which is why
the film is what it is.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Did you was there a like an intimacy coordinator or
how did that kind of how was that planned out?
Was that the director?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
I feel I feel like there was, but I I
don't remember using you know them like that. It's more
for like if you if you're feeling uncomfortable. I think,
uh like Euphoria had two of them just as like
a safety and obviously we kind of stretched the boundaries
on that. It's HBO, which was just great. But uh,

(05:14):
I think that we just we immediately and I don't
want to speak for Gina or Trish or anybody else
on set, but I feel like we just immediately connected
and realized that this was going to be a very
safe environment and there was nothing that wasn't going to
be you know, professional and handled.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
In a professional manner.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Really, I think that that's kind of and it just
was just like a very comfortable, safe space and it
was very easy to just you know, do the job.
So I don't I don't remember really needing an intimacy coordinator.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
It's yeah, it sounded like there was a lot of
trust there and you know, a previous friendship there too
that you know, seemed like a very I guess you
could say like minimal risk environment essentially, right.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
I think, so yeah, yeah, And i' mean and I
just yeah, like I just met them just a few
days before really, so it's really just going off of that.
But I think everyone's just very professional and very kind,
and it's just working with really sweet, really nice people
who just happened to be incredibly talented as well, just
made it made the whole thing so easy, and I

(06:18):
was just I remember being so happy to do it.
And it's funny going back and watching it though, because
I'm like, I remember, I think I was leaving maybe
shortly after to go film Righteous Gemstones or something like that,
and I just remember when I watched it again, I
was like, dang, my beard was huge. My beard fits,
it fits the fishermen vibe, you know, like that, and

(06:40):
you got the flannel flannel, yeah, exactly what. It was
cracking me up every time I see it on camera now.
And same thing with Righteous In the beginning of Righteous Gymstone,
my beard was massive.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, I'm trying to think back for sure.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yeah, but it's just funny seeing it, like kind of
just I love filmmaking, you know, It's so fun and
you get to live in a little different reality for
a little while, and it's even just as fun making it,
you know, but it's there for it's kind of there forever,
you know.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Oh yeah, it's just gonna live on, which is really cool.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Did you did you work out extra hard before knowing
you're gonna have your shirt off and all that.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I don't. I don't.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I feel like I had a very early call time,
so I don't know if I got it even to
work out. Maybe, so I did a lot of push
ups in the trailer.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Or like the weeks leading up to I mean, I
know you're always in good shape, but.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
I try to be. But I think I think the
pandemic made that kind of difficult for me. So I
was like probably getting back into shape and.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Then being in New York too.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
You know, I definitely was working out while I was
out there and just kind of killing time waiting for
for this for the you know, shoot day, I.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Love that equinox and soho. I mean there's a few,
but there's like wine I always go to.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
It's really good at Like, yeah, there's there's a lot
of there. Actually, New York is a very lively city.
There's a lot going on in New York all the time.
There's a lot of energy out there. As I'm wearing
a New York hat. Oh but I got to visit friends,
got to visit a lot of friends out there, and
you know, Max, our buddy, Max Plank's parents, I got

(08:18):
to hang out with a lot too. They're they're just amazing.
So just the whole experience all around, I couldn't I
couldn't have been more lucky, And I think grateful and
I feel like I feel that way every time I
do any kind of movie. Is I'm just so blessed
and lucky to be a part of that, even when
it doesn't go well or you're working with some tyrants

(08:40):
or somebody crazy or whatever. But I'm just still at
the end of the day like that. I would choose
that over any other profession if I if I had
the choice, you know, which you know in some way
we do to a degree, So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
I was just grateful.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
And you mentioned earlier, you know, you did Boo Medea
Halloween with before that with Lives so sorry, Yeah, before
that was it cool to kind of get back on
a project with someone you'd worked with before, And did
you guys, were you able to connect while you're out there?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yeah a little bit.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Yeah, we connected And then I've seen her a bit since,
and you know, she is just absolutely Liza coaches.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
She's just killing it.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
And I remember, she just has this one of the
most unique and incredible personalities that you were ever gonna meet.
And you could see it every time you watch her.
She's like nothing short of one of the most entertaining
people of all time. And that's why I know it's
a testament to why her career has gone the way

(09:42):
it has is she lights up every room she goes in.
She's extremely funny, like her her Like I don't think
I've ever seen her on camera, whether it's somebody's you know,
Instagram story or you know, a cut to you know,
at the super Bowl or you know, at the Emmy's

(10:03):
or Good Morning America. She's on Good Morning America today.
Oh and she's not just fully truly like herself and
just hilarious, lighten it up. She's so funny. She's one
of the funniest people I've ever met my entire life.
And she deserves all the success she has, you know.
And and she killed it in this movie. Killed it.

(10:26):
She got to like do her I think, and and
it showed and she shined through. So it was like,
my hat's off to Eliza and everybody really, but she
e Liza is just amazing again to see like to
go from you know, Boom Medea, Halloween to now the
you know players, and she's really stepping into and has

(10:47):
been for a while, and it's done incredible bodies of work,
but really stepping into her craft as an actor.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
And my computer is dying. That's not good.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
That's awesome, man, she sounds incredible.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Yeah, Eliza is the best. Alight, got ten percent? Do
you take this charger?

Speaker 1 (11:06):
No?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
I got to g spc oh is that is that
a newer computer? But it has like an older charger
on it?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Uh? Yeah, this is a two thousand.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
It's definitely newer than mine.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Twenty two. Yeah, twenty two.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
That's funny. I only have the other one. I'll grab
in a second once I get to five.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Okay, countdown. Yeah, how's the how's the reaction been, you know,
getting tags and calls from people?

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Yeah, it's been funny. A bunch of really hilarious videos
from buddies of mine. And I had a friend he's
shooting a movie right now, and he actually just texted me.
He said his wife was watching it and she like
screamed and sent him a video because they didn't know
I was in it and he just texted me before
we came in here. So it's been I think that's
like a fun part about making film, you know. It's

(11:53):
you don't get immediate, you know, a response. Like I
can be sitting alone in my house and if I
didn't check my phone and I wouldn't really know who
was watching it. It's not like doing a play or
you know, playing a football game or or doing something
where you get like a reaction, you know a comedian.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Right, yeah, yeah, the tables really wildly.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
And took my hands off. But yeah, you kind of
do the.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Work and then it's like months, maybe years later where
you're like, oh, yeah, you know I did that.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I hope they like it, but yeah, I know.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
But to get that's when you know you you you've
done something, because like that's what that's what happened with
I mean that happened with a couple of different shows
I've done. Righteous was one of them. Euphoria was definitely.
I got some hilarious, hilarious videos from buddies, And to me,
it's like, even if that that character is supposed to
be serious, I think when people know you and.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
They're they're just having fun.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
And they can tease you a little bit, you know,
they can, they can make some jokes and stuff. And
if it's even a serious character, to have that other
element of how somebody else received it and the way
that they're enjoying it is so different than maybe you
would have thought it would have been intended to be received.
It's all amazing, Like it's it's I would be lying

(13:13):
if I didn't say I got, you know, some real
joy out of the reactions from friends and people online
and my friends online and fans and whatever whoever it
may be.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
It's all it's all.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Pretty cool, because I mean, that's like, that's why we
do it.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
You know.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
We make films to sometimes we make them for ourselves,
but really it is to entertain people, you know, to
get people an escape and really just to have fun
kind of you know, take everyone out of the world
for a little bit and put them into a new one,
a different one, you know. And if you can do
that and people are enjoying it, I think, you know,
you're doing.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Something that's awesome. Man. I mean, I yeah, I can
only imagine for sure. I Mean, it's so many people
are watching it right now, and it's being so well
received that's great.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
I feel like it's kind of like when you get a
commiment on the podcat.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
You know, like you'll be out somewhere and somebody will say,
like there's a specific moment or a specific podcast of
ours that they listen to and they really enjoy it,
you know, and it's like it's different because it's a
different body of work, right but it's still like, you know,
you're you're creating, you're creating content. You're we're having awesome conversations,

(14:22):
we're putting stuff out there, and if it's received well
by even one person, I think it's it's a pretty cool,
pretty lucky to get to do it.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I definitely appreciate the comparison from our you know, the
podcast to the number one movie on Netflix for sure.
But yeah, no, I'll take that absolutely. You're you're creating
a piece of content and you know, receiving feedback, and
you know, I always definitely always ask too, like what
would be a criticism of it so we can improve

(14:56):
on it, you know what I mean? Where it's like
for the podcast specific, where it's like something more ongoing,
it's like, you know what else, what do you think
we can improve too? But yeah, that's that's awesome, dude.
I'm so glad everyone's checking it out and getting such
positive feedback because it is a really fun movie. You know,

(15:17):
it's dating, it's relationships, it's playing games on people and
with people, and great cast.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Hell yeah, yeah, cast is great. It's the premise is great.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
You know, it's fun, it's entertaining, it's not too heavy
or anything like his hat doesn't fit my head right,
and uh, it's is Yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
It's movies making movies.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Dude. I'm really excited for you.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
That's when I came to LA.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
It's a good one for sure. Yeah, and uh yeah,
the definitely. I'm sure you'll keep hearing about it.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Yeah, I mean yeah, I'm sure. I'm still getting messages
and stuff.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
But I think, uh, it's gonna keep making them, you know,
keep making TV shows and movies and hopefully get some
more good ones and you know, right in one now
and we'll see what that turns into.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
And I just want to keep it rocking.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Oh yeah, and Chanelle ten dollars super chat. I hope
you guys are having a great holiday and a great
Valentine's day. Thank you so much. Sel.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, I think Chanel, we appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Definitely back at you.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
But yeah, how's everybody been. How long has it been
so to be done live, It's been been a few weeks, right,
Oh and Chanel with a new membership. Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
It's been a bit. It's been a bit traveling working
super Bowl, super Bowl? What else have we done since then?
There was something else?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Maybe I did? What did I do? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
I know we got Mammoth coming up. Yeah, we did.
Super Bowl was cool?

Speaker 1 (16:53):
What was before super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Super Bowl was amazing with the fans losing, But but
that experience, like a man, what's saying? I told you
it was my first time I ever going to a
football game. In the fact that it was a super
Bowl and to do it that way with you guys
is like freaking unforgettable.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Crazy.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Yeah, just the energy inside that arena, you know, and
for it to be new to Vegas, you know, And
I feel like the city did a good job at
like mitigating traffic and.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
All the people and everything. It was. It was it
wasn't like chaos.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
It was like it just felt like a big game,
you know, and it flowed pretty nice.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I definitely think they could do more in Vegas for sure. Uh,
for a lot of reasons. Yeah, comic Con. Speaking to
Comic Coon, Yeah, we were going to talk about Gane.
Are we doing comic Con this year? Next year?

Speaker 1 (17:58):
LA?

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Comic Con? Absolutely, san Diego. We even have a few
ideas planned.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
What are the dates for San Diego?

Speaker 2 (18:07):
We can't really can't really get into it, but I
think San Diego is still July like last year.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
LA.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Maybe a little bit earlier, but I'm not sure. So, yeah,
we we got big plans. We got big plans.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Wish I had a show coming out.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
The the other thing, well, we're working on one. The
other thing. We have some comic books in the mix. McKenna.
Volume one is now coming out on Rogue Matter, so
all of Cain is out. And then we have the
trade Cain Book, which is Cain one through five, every

(18:47):
issue in one book. It's a two hundred page comic book,
graphic novel of all of issue one. You know, it's
it's a magni what is it, magnum opus from Patrick Blaine,
our penciler, and Deny Roberto our colorer. You know, it's
two years of work in one book, and we're really

(19:11):
excited about that, so we'll be selling that trade very soon.
And then we have McKenna volume one coming out, all
five issues of that are done, we'll be doing a
trade of that, and then we have two more spinoffs
or not, we don't like to call them spinoffs. They're
just more books in the universe. The Gladiator version of

(19:34):
Cain is coming out soon. We're working really hard on that.
I shouldn't say coming out soon, but we'll probably do
like a preview on it where you can check out
maybe the first half of issue one something like that.
Then we have our Ancient Greece one that'll be coming out,
probably do some sort of preview for that as well.
We love these digital previews we can do because give

(19:57):
them away for free, let people check it out, and
then if you like it, you get the book. So yeah, Gladiator,
Ancient Greece, McKenna, and then like two or three more
that are in the mix, but we can't really talk
about yet. We're just really building out this universe. And
not to mention McKenna Volume two, Cane Volume two and

(20:21):
everything associated there, but yeah, McKenna issue too, I believe
comes out a week from Wednesday, and yeah, things are
just really coming along with Roague Matter and we love
the whole team over there, and uh yeah, the comics
are are blasting out right now, blasting out, and I'd

(20:44):
write a new one, like every day. I feel like
I'm writing a comic book at least one a week,
because we got volume two's, we got Volume threes, we
got all these different books, and we really are building
a universe. It feels like we've only had Caine Volume
one or McKenna Volume one for so long, but while
those were out, we're creating the rest of the universe.

(21:08):
And now the rest of the universe is really starting
to finish up be able to come out, so we'll
have all these great other stories and books very shortly
to go along with Kine and McKenna. For sure.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Yeah, the chanel said the ending of Kane volume one,
she won't say anything, but wow.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Oh nice.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
I agree. I agree.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
And it's an extra long book too, so it's a
lot of just takes on a whole ride. So anybody
who hasn't read it yet, like I recommend going and
checking it out. If you've obviously been caught up with
the rest of the volume. But yeah, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Yeah, go get the free go get the free digital
issue one and immerse yourself and it all. In my opinion,
it gets all of our comics get better the further
you get along, if that makes sense. So you know,
the deeper you go into the universe, the more stuff

(22:12):
you're going to see and the more fun stuff you're
going to see too. But yeah, it all. It all
started with Cane Cane Issue one, which is out for
free at roguematter dot com.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Yeah, and Crystal, I think there's I don't I don't
know about the shipping, so I don't link. Yeah, but
if if there isn't international, uh, I think we could
do something where we could, you know, order the book
and we could figure out how to get it to
you internationally. If it's not available from director purchase off

(22:44):
the website. But when it comes out, let's figured it out.
You got to got to remind us. But we'll get
it going. I'd be pretty cool for anybody else who's
you know, out of the country as well.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
And yeah, international shipping like you just said, and then
just to read it. We'll have digital versions of everything
as well. But I I know. I'm the type of
person too where I want the physical book just really,
even for collecting, even if I can read it digitally.
I'm a collector.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
What in the world all these pop ups?

Speaker 2 (23:27):
I feel like I ripped my shirt collar.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
All right, so it says I connected my YouTube, so
now I can comment. Oh well, so I don't know
if it's connected people or just.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
So I can comment.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Yeah, we'll figure this out one day.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
There we go.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
But yeah, so the Studio twenty two podcasts, if you
look in the comments, I saw who said that, Alessandra.
If you click there, you can see where you can
purchase either the digital or physical copies. And then I
think you could see if they ship to Brazil, right,

(24:08):
I don't know, yeah, shipping.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
So our website will have only the books. There's that
will have all the books, and then Rogue Matter will
have digital and books. But McKenna they're still releasing, So

(24:30):
McKenna Issue Too is only available on our site because
they're only on McKenna one right now. Just we're sticking
to their release schedule because they have a ton of
other books too, and a ton of other ips that
we're releasing over time. But we're almost caught up. We're
one McKenna book away from being just as caught up

(24:50):
as we are in our site as their site.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I love the comic updates and get a nerd out
for a little bit.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
The new stuff looks so cool. The Gladiator stuff, Oh.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
My gosh, I can't wait to release that book. I'm
writing the final issue right now, and it's like probably
the biggest thing in scale I can think of for
this huge climactic ending. It's crazy, that's what we like
to hear. Yeah, well, we'll have a preview of that
book out, I would say definitely in March, one hundred percent.

(25:29):
In March will have like a preview of Gladiator. Well,
it's called Uprising a Caine Rebellion. That's the name of
the Gladiator one Uprising a Caine Rebellion, and then the
ancient Greece one is King a Caine Odyssey.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I just want to turn them into movies and show already.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Well, you know, I mayor have may not have you.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Know, stay tuned, stay should out. We do have to
catch up. Yeah no, yeah, I don't know what cameo.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
There's cameo had live streams a while ago, and so
you're able to talk with people and it was actually
pretty fun. Nice, It was actually really fun, and they
got rid of it and for no reason, so it's
been hard to catch up with people.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Well, hell yeah, man, I'm glad we got to talk
about your new movie. That's absolutely crushing it on Netflix
right now.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Give a little update on all the comics and everything
coming soon. Yeah, super Bowl was great and we have
a lot of stuff coming up. I really do did
you do?

Speaker 3 (27:00):
You?

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Guys?

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Get to check out the Frank Gorilla podcast. Anybody can
see that.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
I had so much fun with Frank. Dude, that was awesome.
I binged Kingdom his show The MMA one. I freaking
love it, dude, It's awesome. It's really just like gruesome
and fun and he's really really good in it. Nick
Jonas is great in it. There's a lot of the

(27:26):
cast is great, but just a fun show.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Excuse me, Brock, are you ready for Thailand?

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Not yet, but I will be.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Oh that's funny, Johnny. No, that's it's just artwork. That's
a cool question, though I haven't thought of it that
way in a while. I love how you have different
perspectives on art. It can trigger different results, like depending
on who's looking at it and what's going on. But

(28:01):
that's dope. That's a cool question. What was the question?
Where's it right above in green right there?

Speaker 1 (28:09):
No?

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Yeah, oh this one yeah, oh they kind of yeah,
well they could be huh.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Grilling event Julie's crushing. Are we allowed to talk about
not this weekend but next?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
I think I already mentioned it in this podcast. Oh okay,
want Mammoth?

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Well yeah, we're I mean we're going. Yeah, yeah, I
don't see why not. There's nothing We're going to Mammoth
Film Festival again.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Yeah, so uh, I mean it's uh, I feel like
it's open. Is it open to the public. It's opening
the public, right yeah, it's like a you can buy tickets,
buy tickets, Yeah, go see the screens and stuff. So
if anyone wants to pop up, we'll be up there.
It should be a lot of snow I'm assuming, especially
with now there's another storm coming through right now.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
I'm definitely bringing my snowboard. I don't know about you.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Dude, I will never forget. I went straight from the
studio with Morton and Quavo, drove alone from that studio
to Mammoth to meet you who were already there, and
I got in at like two in the morning.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
That was so crazy. Yeah, I remember I drove that.
They had this big van. It was like there van.
It's not like a it's not like what would what
would you call it? But it was like the van
for the festival.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
It was like a big red van. It matched their
hole aesthetic and I think they have the logo on
it and everything. So anyways, I drove it up. The
thing was two wheel drive and it was like the
biggest snowstorm in Mammoth history. Oh yeah, I was like, guys,
it's covered with eight feet plus of snow around every direction.
I'm not driving this home. I'm getting a different ride
if this thing is stuck. But it was quite an experience.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
I had to run an suv and I was driving
by everybody that was putting on snow chains on their tires.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
I didn't have chains. Yeah, I couldn't even get that.
My I got out. My hands were so cold. I
couldn't even put the chains on. I tried, it just didn't.
They wouldn't clip.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
I think they're the wrong size, and it wasn't my car,
so there's nothing I could do about it, but I
just drove it. It really was like another thirty minutes
in so I just risked it. You know, could have
been the last of us what do you call it?

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Uh? Was it last year?

Speaker 3 (30:28):
I was with Lorenzo, you know Antonucci we had on
the podcast and Rob Weisse. There's a bunch of people
up there. But there's a story and I want you
guys to remember this when we get Rob on. There's
a story from Mammoth that Rob has to tell of
what happened last time we were up there. It was

(30:50):
pretty crazy. You got a little physical but uh, it's
a great story and it's hilarious when Rob tells it.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
So remember that for is it still shaking? Here's just
like extra shaky.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Okay, Well, yeah, we gotta get them on to talk
talk about it.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Yeah, we'll get We're gonna need them on.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
But it's a great, great story and so hopefully we
don't have any similar stories this year, but we're gonna
have some other great stories and we're bringing the podcast
up there. So uh, probably do a couple of live streams,
but definitely get some good interviews from some really talented people.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
It'll be fun. It's gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Yet us film nerds in our film.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Zone, exactly, watch a couple of movies, eat little popcorn,
hang out with the bros.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
And now we may have a we may have a
plan for that. What did she say? Yes, heck, yeah,
presidents say every I hope everyone's enjoying it thinking of
their favorite presidents. I guess is that what we're supposed
to do.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
We've had some good ones. Yeah, yeah, No, it's gonna
be a good time. I'm just reading comments and catching up. Yea,
it should be fun. And the cool thing about Mammoth

(32:20):
too is it's kind of a smaller festival and so
it's a little more intimate and you really get to
meet filmmakers and you know talent, you know, actors, actresses, directors,
and there's been a couple of things that have come
out of it, you know, as far as I think
people working on projects together, and I've got some cool
people that I've seen at huge premieres at Mammoth later on,

(32:42):
you know, or stay connected with state friends with So.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
The snow is the only.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Yeah, no, we we had our short film up there.
The big break with Gail and Tom and all them.
That's how I went the first time. But it's proximity
to LA. You're right, it's like it's a little smaller,
but it's also newer and indirect proximity to LA which
makes it still very influential and easier for like a

(33:12):
lot of people in Hollywood to make it out there.
So it's cool, it's unique and like very.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
You can fly in, but you don't have to, which
is nice. Like I'm not driving. I mean I.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Would, I would, but most people wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
But I'm not driving to you know, Sundance or you
know something in New York or whatever. You gotta fly
to a lot of those places.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
And like Tanner was saying, they sold more films than
Sundance did last year.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Wow, I think you remember. It was like yeah, it
was like that's good. That's a good uh stat to have,
you know. Yeah, they're definitely growing every year. And you've
seen it. And two of my buddies, you know, our buddies,
Tanner and Atomic who Tanner we've had on the podcasts,
also started it years ago, and you know, they just

(34:00):
been crushing it and doubling down on it, and it's
been fun to see what they can do or what
they've been doing with it. It's a fun it's a fun,
fun time. Heck, yeah, they got a bowling tournament, which
is pretty great. They get very competitive. Those guys are
very competitive. I unfortunately had a tormentuscus last time, so
I didn't do so good.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
But if I do go this time. Came on reading comics, reading.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
The Missy what would be your dream roll? Honestly, I
wrote my dream role. It's me and Penny in the
zombie Apocalypse and my comic Desert Heat. I've always wanted
to do that, so I'm basically just made myself an
amateur action star in a in a zombie alien environment.

(34:53):
But yeah, Desert Heat comic.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
But it's actually like a really unique SI concept that
I have never seen done before. So it's like you
might say, you know, what was the term you just
used for yourself, Like an average or what was it?

Speaker 2 (35:10):
A amateur action.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
With the right circumstances, anyone can be great.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Oh dude, it's nuts.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
By the end, I was rereading the last issue because
I'm starting volume two right now, and like, it gets
effing crazy. It's like military with crazy different types of
zombies and aliens are involved. It's just as crazy as
it can be. Wall also being very grounded and all
about family and love and romance relationships, like family bonds

(35:44):
and like family expectations and aliens and aliens. Man, it's nuts,
but thank you. Yeah, that would be my dream role
is just crushing zombies. I think it's I think it's fun.
I was a big Walking Dead fan until about c
in five or six. But yeah, thank you for the question.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Swear jar, did you something? Did I cuss? Did you cuss?

Speaker 2 (36:10):
I said, I think I avoided it?

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Uh but yeah, no, we uh we love you guys.
I appreciate you. We just want to check in and
that's pretty much.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Yeah, that's a good little update of the week, right, yea,
so fired.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Up about your movie players on Netflix. How well it's doing.
Glad we got to talk about it. Yeah, comics are crushing.
It's great to talk to everybody and check in.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Hell. Yeah, and I know a couple of people from
from my app who are in here, and you guys
have been killing it, so I just want to shout
you out personally, and seeing your progress has just been amazing.
So I'm grateful that you guys trusted me and jumped
on board, and let's keep it rocking. We're yeah, we
got to make more films. Well, we gotta just keep going.

(36:59):
We have so many in the work, so they just
take time. Yeah, that's true. Actually it's very true. Doing
your workout as you watch it. That's see you see
what I'm saying. That's what's up. Love that Now you
make them feel lazy me too. All right, guys, appreciate you.

(37:20):
We will see you next time.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Thank you, everybody, Thanks for tuning in to Studio twenty two.
