Feeling good? Comic Con twenty twenty three.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Comic Con twenty twenty three, La, we are here with
a very special guest. I'm surrounded by actors. Right now.
We are sitting with Connor esterson Star of Spy Kids Armageddon.
You can find it on Netflix and it is one
heck of a movie. How are you doing, Connor?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
I am good? How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I'm fantastic. This is a great weekend. This is exciting.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
It's an exciting day for me because I finally get
to meet my long lost twin. How are you, buddy?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
I am great?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
How are you good? Good? Is your first comic Con?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
It is, and I am very excited. Yeah, I've seen
it online so many years and I'm like, I.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Want to go out, and now you're here, and now.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I'm here after a very long wait.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yes, there's so much to do, right, I know, I'm.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Like three hours that's not enough.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
What were your first What were your first thoughts when
you walked in whoa, whoa, Yeah that was your first whoa? Whoa?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Was it like the scale of it? You think?

Speaker 3 (01:19):
I know, I just because it was so quiet out front,
and then I walk in instant chattering. I see like
fifty stands, and I'm like, whoa.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you have a favorite show or cartoon?

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Probably Naruto?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, Naruto?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Or One Piece?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
One Piece? Did the Netflix one? The live action?

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I like the anime?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
How long?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
It's like seven hundred and thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
You're a true fan. You're a true fan, so you've
got a little bit of waste to go. It's was
it thirteen hundred more? Maybe two thousand of them?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Did they hit two thousand?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I think, really, how many is it?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I think it's like one one hundred?

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Oh is it? Okay?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Not too far?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Well, you're you're doing good. You put some hours in.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I'm glad I found One Piece through the live action,
and then I went back and started that anime. Now
you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, so like you watch so, you know, like a
little bit of a premise at a premise of what's
gonna come.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Totally, I thought the live action was incredible, and now
I'm going back to get more of the lore in
the anime. What is anime one of your favorite genres?

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Definitely? Oh cool, because I'm not the biggest fan of movies,
but sometimes like here and there, like the Five Nights
of Freddy's Stop School went straight to the movie theater.
But most of the time when I watch movies, I'm like, Eh.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
You gotta find stuff you like, right, you gotta search
out there.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
What is it about one piece that you like?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Just like the lore and how all of the powers
are set up in a specific way. That's not like
it's like this, but it's not too like I can
do whatever it wants. It's like, right, and that's wheat
spot where it's just a good anime and it's not
over exaggerating and it's not under it.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, that's a good good way to describe. It really
focuses on plot and character.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Right, Yeah, it just focuses on what's what needs to
be seen.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Instead of all the other stuff.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, all the other stuff that isn't really that important.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah. So it sounds like you really like story then,
like a good story. That's awesome. How was filming SPI Kids?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, really, yes,
from the people, to the sets, to the stunts, yeah,
to the crew, to the other actors. It was just
a phenomenal experience.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
That's it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
You did amazing, and I am worried about my career.
You're going to replace me. When did you know you
wanted to go into acting? That's kind of what I'm
curious about.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Oh, this is a really weird story.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Really.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
So I was like five, I'm ton now and I
was watching Mickey Mouse and there was an ad and
it was a diaper commercial really and I saw a
bunch of like teenagers dancing and then at the end,
I'm a bacon now. I shut off the TV and
ran to my dad. I won't be acting, And here

(04:20):
I am five years later.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
That is incredible. Actually, I mean I remember that commercial
that it's such like you know, it's such like a
pungent jingle, right, like that music is like it just gets.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yeah, it just gets It just gets gets me. Well
got me and it got me here.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
So that's all that. That is probably one of the
coolest introductions into acting I've ever heard.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Actually, I think, so did you did you get right
into where you?

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Like?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I want to start acting training or you know, I
want to start all that, Like how did you.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Said I want to act like I want to act?
And we set up the meetings and we got into
auditioning and yeah, it worked out.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
I mean that's a key step, right, is like identifying
what you're passionate about and what you're interested in. And
it is such a young age to know that. I
commend you for that because there's a lot of people
out there, you know, that are still looking for what
they want to do right, and there's no there's no
problem with that at all. You know, that's life is
searching for that. But to know that young is really impressive,

(05:30):
and especially to do all the work you did, It's
it's really cool.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Do you have any characters that you really want to play?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Let me think so? In the live action that they
were renewing it for a second season, and if either
of you have, I don't think you've got either of you.
Have you watched the anime?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I did not ask it a little bit. Yeah, I'm
not seven hundred in though.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Okay, yeah, have you heard of the character Chopper before Reindeer? Yeah,
So they're renewing for a second in season and he's
going to be in the second.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Season, wow with the live action one with the live action.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I don't know if it's going to be like if
you've ever seen this series Sweet Tooth, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
like it's going to be like that character. If it's
going to be cgi.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
With a voice sound interesting? They should do because I
really like Sweet Tooth. I like they do it.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
They should do something.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I think they should do something like that. Yeah, because
they do a really good job at like with one
piece of the live action. I think of having the
live action and then having a lot of the animated
stuff with a lot of the abilities and stuff. But
they need to call you right now. Yeah, that's that
should be yours. That's your role.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
It's like the office over at Netflix, right just be like, hey,
you know we got spy kids and now we're moving over.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, well we'll put it out there. We're going to
put it out in the universe. Maybe we can make
some calls. We'll get you here in there. Yeah, that'd
be awesome. See that. That is what you want to
see too, for acts, For filmmakers people as somebody that
loves a story, loves a you know, show, like like
one piece loves the anime and then they get to

(07:10):
play the role. You know, it reminds me of like
Henry Cavill with the Witcher or with a lot of
the roles he plays right which you look like a
young Superman to me. I think it might it might come.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
What do you like? What's your favorite Marvel stuff?

Speaker 3 (07:25):
My favorite Marvel probably a Spider Man. The Toby McGuire ones.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
That's a great choice. I'm a Spider Man is my
number one too, And I it's funny. I have a
younger brother who's ten and we play the We played
the Spider Man Marvel game when it came out, the
new one.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yeah, I didn't get it. Is it worth it?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I think it's worth it. I think it's pretty fun.
I think like the directing of it is really cool
because it's like very cinematic. But you know, he he
Lovesider Man.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Two.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
We both love Spider Man. So that's really the reason.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Why.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
What other what other Marvel movies have you been to?

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Well, other Marvel? I did the No Way Home one.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
In Holland that's the best one. That one's the best one.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
I went to. I think it was across the Spider Verse.
I get those two names confused the across the Spider Verse.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Do you like those? Those are great?

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Those are interesting because it has a lot of complexity.
It's one of those things that you either love it
or you hate it. Me personally, I'm the person that
loves it. But then again, I'm a little biased because
I love every Spider Man Man movie ever. Know.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Oh, that's not biased, that's just liking it. It's to the.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Point where I bought a game Boy to play the
original two D Spider Man.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Wow, that's cool. So you got it all?

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yes, I have. I bet every Spider Man gimix for
the Spider Man three.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Really. Oh wow, I wonder if it's in here somewhere,
and come come, I wonder if you walked around you
can find something. You said you like toys, right, yes,
what kind of toys do you like?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
That's a hard question. Like things that are like really exotic,
Like I wouldn't get like a regular nerve gun. I'd
get one of the custom wrapped in crap. So instead
of like something unique, something.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Unique, Yeah, something different. I like that. I like things
like that too, because if if everyone has it, it's
not as cool to me. Yeah, but you get to
customize stuff too, you know, and have fun. That's kind
of like what we're doing with the trailer. You know,
we're gonna be customizing this and.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Make it more fun.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Yeah. You get a little older, you're like, maybe bigger toys.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
I think, yeah, that's funny.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
But yeah, No, there's there's a lot of really cool
stuff in here. And I think if you walked around
Comic Con long enough, like with your family and go
to the Gaming West Hall, oh yeah, you'll find some cool.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Stuff animals in the gaming hall too.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Really. Oh yeah, oh I want to go there.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
One of our buddies has a booth over there, and
maybe you're gonna hook them up.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
With Yeah know, and my buddy Shane, who has a
booth over there. He knows all about manga and anime
and all that stuff, so that he's been over there
the whole time, So I'll tell him, uh, give us
some pointers where to send Connor and find some cool
stuff exactly. Yeah, where's uh, where's your cosplay?

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I wanted to do one, and I'm like, I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Be doing a podcast, that's fair. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
I didn't want to turn up as like a power Ranger.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
To a podcast it would have been pretty it would
have been cool.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, but I understand the thinking and the thought process.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
But you know, we appreciate the professionalism.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
I've done a podcast as a doctor disrespect. If you
heard of him, he might be a little older.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I don't think.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, he's like a gaming streamer. He's a little older.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Bit he's it's familiar.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
You might have seen some of his YouTube clips gaming
or something. But but we got times, you got time
to learn about him. It's okay.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
He had hair like yours and a big mustache, so
we put a mustache on you. Oh you've seen him
with the glasses? Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, very good. Do
you like? Do you like video games? I know you
mentioned Spider Man?

Speaker 2 (11:13):
But what other games do I played Fortnite?

Speaker 3 (11:17):
It's my main game.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
There we go. I was playing Fortnite other night.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
We yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Have you been playing the o G season?

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (11:25):
It ended, yes, yesterday. Did you watch the eminem performance?
M M.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I did and it went so much.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Really, yes, that's so cool. I didn't get to see
it yet, but I'm gonna go check. I'm gonna watch
it on YouTube. But uh, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
The big bang?

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Yeah? Is that the meteor, so.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
The media goes into this zero Point black hole, but
then the black hole exploded. And if you've ever watched
or heard about the Fortnite storyline, it's basically like, so
what happens in this part, miss is Jones, the Fortnite
head of Everything. He goes back with the time machine,

(12:08):
back back into the past, but he goes into a
different reality.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
So he comes back in a different reality.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
So instead of the Zero Point getting hit by the
rocket and it being fully unstable and we get sent
into chapter two, it sends us to a different reality
which changes overall because like there were glitches in the
map during the og season, like in Frenzy Fields. I'm sorry,

(12:36):
I'm a Fortnite geek. It's great, apologize he's a barn
instead of a house. Yeah, and until said towers, the
Trump Towers, which with a barn, which was really weird.
It's just like a barn in the middle of Tilted.
But yeah, everything was different, and I we're getting set
into a different second half of the storyline. That's basically the.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Really cool do you uh? Do you like to play
with one specific skin or do you like to switch
them all the time?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
I switched them. I try to stick his skins. It
doesn't work. Really.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
I did Darth Maul for a while. I thought it
was pretty cool, and then Peter's.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Version, Oh really that's awesome. So it looks like you,
Oh that's cool.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Man.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Do you have any projects coming up that you can
talk about or you know you're filming something right now?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Don't know, Ye, what are you working on?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
I'm not legally about to say, so.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
We're going to skip that. I like that, but he
is working.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Businessman.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Connor's crushing the life, he's crushing the acting field, and
he's going to keep rocking. Teacher, teach us your ways.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
What what would be your dream your dream role or
franchise one piece?

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Any anime really, so.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
In the anime for sure, any anime.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Or I'd love to be a Marvel superhero.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
What about like a Spider Man that you know they're
doing Madam Web is coming out soon, right, so maybe
they're gonna do like another Spider Man spin off or
something they.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Do another Spider Man spin off.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
I will the audition, Yeah you got they got to
put you in that.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Yeah, that's awesome, awesome, And then would you say, like,
would you want to do voice acting or would you
like in the animes.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
The anime is. It's weird because voice acting it's never
really been my strong suit because I have a very
sensitive throat. Like I did ADR for the Spy Kids movie,
and after the two days that I was doing the ADR,
my throat was burning.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Really Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, we were doing some ADR with Brock too, and
it's like it's tough right when you're like, you're not
just used to talking that much and it's like over
and over again, repetitive long hours. Yeah, it's definitely. I mean,
you can speak to it obviously better than I can,
but I just am aware of the.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
I was doing ad R for a different film, and
then I came back to LA the next day to
do ADR for something we're going to show today. We're
gonna permierre it on the main stage. Uh, And because
I did so much yelling and talking, I lost my
voice and it was like, yeah, so it's I know
exactly what you mean. If you're not drinking you know,
like water, hot water and honey and stuff like that

(15:13):
and hot and then you warm up your vocals, it
gets kind of tough. But that's stuff I think you
kind of also figure out as to keep going. But
it's good. You know that now, So if you go in,
you're like, guys, I can't do five days of ADR.
I can only do one, you know.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah. I mean there's such good experiences for you at
your age, and you know you're only going to continue
to grow and get better and get more rolls and
you know, read more, experience more. I mean that's incredible,
you know, I'm really I'm really happy for you. It's
it's really cool to talk to you and and learn
about the experiences and check it out.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
How's it. How's it been with your family watching you
excel in acting?

Speaker 3 (15:48):
It's been a very interesting I don't know, because I'm
not them. I haven't.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Come on, right, that's true.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
I don't know. Yeah, I think they're happy for me, though,
I'm sure they are.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm happy for you.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Yeah, twin bros.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
That's right? Would you uh? Would you sign up to
play my twin?

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Yes? I would?

Speaker 1 (16:07):
You should do that.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
That'd be awesome.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
That'd be cool. Except you're you're stronger than me, smarter
than me. I feel like you're definitely already smarter than me. Uh,
you're definitely funnier. It's a lot of a lot of
a lot of good stuff there. But man, we're super
grateful that you're you're here, and I hope you're having
a lot of fun today, Like it's.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
A pleasure to be here.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
The Rogue Matter booth is pretty cool, right, I know,
I saw it.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
That's cool.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Let's get you some comics and get you get you
off to the anime arena.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah, you should go challenge someone and over an anime arena,
see if they can take you. Maybe there's some games
you can play and uh yeah, oh yeah, take a
lot of photos and uh, find some cool toys. There
has got to be some unique toys. I want to
hear later what you find.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
I'm gonna find the biggest, baddest toy in all these Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
I think that's a valiant mission.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Yes, secure the diamond.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
You'll secure the You'll find the diamonds. Okay, we're sending
you on a mission, all right. We are sending you
on a mission to find the diamond. Connor, Okay, appreciate you,
Thank you so much until next time, Soldier.
