Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand onninety seven point one. Wash Up out
Toby at Chilly in the morning ona Monday, it's ninety seven point one,
Wash out them Chili. How isyour weekend? Anything this morning?
Give you some joy? What wouldyou like to talk about as we shake
off the weekend and get ready tospend another week together. Well, it
was a dreary weather wise weekend, but we made the most of it by
(00:22):
buying a whole new wardrobe for thekiddo. Well, you know, kids,
when they're younger, they outgrow thingsvery quickly. That doesn't change when
they get older and into college intheir twenties. Well, at some point
their body stops growing, don't they. One would hope. I don't know
that we could keep up with thispace. But yeah, it's not easy,
I'll tell you that much. Yeah, but Walmart for the wind a
(00:46):
lot of great five dollars T shirtsand shorts, and boy did we do
some damage there over the weekend. So he set for the summer's Yeah,
because we checked the forecast, it'sgoing to be warm again next few days.
Well that brings you some joy.Well, I'll tell you what gives
me some joy today is knowing thatmy daughter is home from school safely,
that I was able to make abig long marathon drive, half of it
(01:08):
alone, half of it with her. But what gives me joy this morning
is that I'm looking forward to learningwhat she has to share about everything from
social media to writing to just newthings that she's learning. It's like I
get to learn vicariously through her.And you know what, for the cost
of tuition, why not? Well, if you've got a kid that actually
(01:30):
speaks to you, that should makeyou happy, Because I know that I
have some friends who are kids incollege and they're like, yeah, yeah,
they get a grunt here and there, maybe a few sentences strung together,
but it's not necessarily a true conversation. Some kid twisted chilia. I
know when to give my kids space. She's enjoying that space right now while
sleeping, and she'll occupy said spaceuntil she's ready to talk. But when
(01:55):
she's ready to talk, I'm readyto listen. And I'm fascinated just by
some of the things she's already sharedwith me from it from spending time with
her driving back. Hopefully you didsomething this week and it gave you some

Coming up in just a few minutesas we get into this Monday, Well,
how you take your coffee or likeyour coffee apparently says a lot about
your personalitis. So if you're sittingin the Starbucks drive through line, stay
there. We've got things to learntogether. Coming up one lumpar two,
What does the type of coffee youlike say about you? Ninety seven point
one WASHFM, Toby and Chilly inthe morning. This is important because you
(02:40):
might need that cup of coffee thatyou're waiting on right now to get your
day started. And coffee can concludeespresso and latte and cappuccinos and more chili.
You saw this list, right,Yeah? Is there anything on this
list we says something about you whenit comes to your coffee choices. The
way I take it is black, but there is some sugar in it,
(03:02):
so that's not really one of theoptions, and the closest one I suppose
would be one of those like nondairy milks in my coffee. Right,
yeah, I guess it says highmaintenance, detail oriented and self rights and
self centered. What about if you'relactose intolerant, Well, there's a reason
why you can't have nothing and nothing. I mean, wow, that's like
(03:25):
bringing it down in the morning. You know, I'm lactose intolerant. I'm
not any of the above that youjust said, say, not any of
the above, But I would youknow, detail oriented? Oh yes,
I don't know. I don't know. What about you? Why do you
take your coffee? Well, ofall the options, all the options here,
I would say some degree of afrozen latte. As I discovered on
(03:46):
this road trip this weekend. Itend to be obsessive, that can be
true. I tend to like toplease people. That can be true.
I can be indecisive when it comesto making decisions. Oh have you seen
my life? That pretty much nailsit late. However, I will say
that I've discovered the new Dunkin blueberrycoffee, which is pretty good over this
road trip because there's a lot ofDuncans in New England. Oh yeah,
(04:08):
and they always have the new Duncanstuff before everybody else gets it. It's
a blueberry coffee. It's a blueberrycoffee. It's so good. And then
I just kidding, I wonder whatthat says about you? You like the
trendy things. I don't know, you know, if it's similar to the
lattes I normally drink that. Itend to be obsessive and so I'll obsess
out on it for a few minutes. What is your coffee choice? What
(04:30):
does it say about you? Eightsixty six, nine two, seven forty
three sixty one is the number ifyou feel like you want to jump in
and get involved. And now you'velearned. And also we have the complete
list, by the way, ifyou wanted to look up what it says
about you on the Toby and Chilipage at washfm dot com. Check it.
When you get that coffee kicking throughyour system and you get to work
today coming up in a few minutes, So where's it might inspire as you
(04:51):
get ready to take on a brandnew day? How is your mindset?
We'll talk and thanks for waking upwith Toby and Chilly in the morning.
Here at nutty s in point oneWash FM. We know you have choices.
We are glad that you have chosenus today. And what is the
quote now for the morning mindset?Alrighty, this might help you, especially
if you've been feeling misunderstood lately andyou're kind of anxious about starting a new

to let some people misunderstand me.Think about that. Life became a lot
simpler when I decided to just letsome people misunderstand me. Some people may
not understand why you get this oryou get that, or you're treated this
way or you're treated that way,or some people just don't understand you.
(05:38):
They don't understand how people like youcan do what you do for whatever reason.
Well that doesn't matter what they think, because well they just won't understand
you, So let them misunderstand you. What matters most is when you look
in the mirror, who understands youbetter than you? That's right. Think
about it, and those words fromAlisia Lockhart you can find if you need

there was a male model who wenton TikTok to talk about how he was
fired as a greeter from the MetGala because apparently he went viral while he
was helping out Kylie Jenner last year. He'd been working this event for the
last couple of years, but he, I guess upstaged her a bit because
(07:30):
he's so handsome. Who knows, but yeah, he's definitely not happy about
it, and he is spilling theteeth. Tom Brady was a target of

(10:48):
that itch that might need a scratch, ChIL, I understand, you get
some ways that you can help somebodythis morning who might be feeling this way
listening to ninety seven point one washFM. So tell us all about what
you found out. Okay, Sowhere I had my incisions on my chest,
it was driving me crazy. Youremember Friday, I kept saying,
(11:09):
oh my god, I cannot stopscratch. I want to scratch all the
sites. And you know, Ididn't want to comment about what you want
to ditch or where they might be, because that would just seem a little
weird for me to be comment. This is a very normal reaction to your
body healing, so it means yourwounds are healing. Anytime you have surgery
(11:31):
and it gets itchy, I justdon't know how to alleviate the itch.
So I sent a text message tomy doctor saying what am I allowed to
do here? Well, you're notallowed to scratch because that could just make
things worse. I couldn't put cortisolon it, which was my first in
Nope, because the wound isn't completelyhealed right, and it's an open wound,
(11:56):
so you're not supposed to do that. Nope. Ice ice interesting there,
and I and I laughed it offat first, but there I was
stuffing ice packs in my bra tohelp with the incision, and lo and
behold it got me through the weekend. Well, that there is what counts.
So ice is what she recommended. You used ice packs. These didn't
(12:18):
do anything to like, say stitchesor whatnot. No, no, no,
because you kind of near the incisionand it sort of helped alleviate that
area. Now, do you thinkthat using ice packs on any itch anywhere,
for any sort of a reason willbe just as helpful, say,
even if you have an itch inyour itching and you don't have stitches.
Yeah, I think I've tried thatonce with like even like mosquito bites,
(12:43):
if you kind of put an icelike an ice cube, on top of
a mosquito bite, at least temporarily, it takes away that massive urge to
scratch. That's got to be alot more comfortable than what I do when
I have a oh God, toscratch an itch. I cover the parts
of my body that is itching reallybadly. Like when I got this tattoo.
Yeah, when it was healing andI had to take what they call
(13:05):
a second skin off and start, you know, washing it often and applying
some sort of like moisturizer to it, that's when it really started to itch.
But then wondering scratch through the surfaceof whatever you're coming No, for
whatever reason, that creates a mentalblock for me. But when that was
gone, the itching was on andI was like, you know what,
where's something? So that makes mewonder if I'm the next stattoo I get
(13:26):
over here, if I need todo something with ice, Yes, it
will help alleviate that because that itchis the worst. No, it's your
the body producing histamine. It's justcrazy. Well, if you can relate,
and if you have any other itchtips ways to avoid scratching them,

At eight sixty six ninet twenty sevenforty three sixty one Toby and Tillian in
the morning at ninety seven point onewash FM. You took a solo trip
for the first time. You droveby yourself almost ten hours up to go
pick your daughter up from Emerson. How did it go in Boston? It
was long, but I went downcertain rabbit holes. I listened to advice
that we got on Friday about takingcertain breaks. However, Rebecca, there
(18:38):
was another piece of advice you wantedto throw our way. Thanks for listening
to Frederick. What was it?My tip is walking around the car for
at least fifteen minutes. That's interesting. Fifteen minutes is that the average break
time every two hours? It isfor me. It gives me enough energy
to be like okay, Tom,to get back on the road. Is
that mindset that I'm out the carand now I'm ready to go? Can
(18:59):
you on my journey? Dang?I hear that, and all I keep
thinking is then that's adding time tomy travel. I just want to get
where I'm going. It does addtime. However, by the time you
get there, it doesn't seem asbad as long as it actually is.
Maybe if I would have walked aroundthe car for fifteen minutes, I would
have taken a nap for like anhour at a rest stop. Oh my
god, I've always wondered who actuallysleeps at those places? You, me,
(19:23):
me, and the people who aredoing the boondocking next to me.
Oh, I saw you. OhI saw you. Yeah. I put
my head back and then I waslike, oh my god. When I
came to and I'm like, going, all right, I'm on the road,
but it's dark out. Oh waita minute. That was longer than
I anticipated. But boy was Irested. Yeah, you were. And
I didn't have to stop again therest of the way to Boston, which
(19:48):
I guess makes it worth it.Rebecca, thank you for that tip earlier.

Potomac, Maryland that we think willmake your Monday, involving a thirteen year

We're going deeper in less than twentyminutes. Hang out. If you

(20:29):
That's where make your Monday comes in. And this story is a reminder that
it really does take everyone to makesomeone's day happen, especially when someone is
going through some challenges. We'll explainhere at ninety seven point one wash FM.
So Jamison is a thirteen year oldgirl who lives in Potomac with her
family and the Make a Wish Foundation. They grant three hundred and seventy five
(20:53):
wishes a year to kids here inthe DMV, and Jamison recently received something
that will allow her to play withher three brothers outside. Yes, it's
a very cool Make your Wish giftof a playground that's covered for the backyard.
See Jamison has some stuff going onthat keeps her inside out of the
(21:15):
sun. And because she's been outof the sun, she's had to miss
out while she's watched family and friendsplay, ride bikes, play basketball and
more. But that's all changed now, that's right. They built this really
cool sports court and it's got uvshades so Jamison can go out there with
her three brothers, ride her bikeor just in her wheelchair, or even
(21:37):
better yet, play some basketball andshow them what's up. It took eighteen
months for this project to finish, and they even built a pathway from the
house to the sports court because Jamisonrides around on what's it called one of
those assisted scooter kind of wheelchair typethings, right, and those aren't always
easy to navigate, you know whenit comes to these things, or to
(22:00):
get outside and to go play.Well, they built that too, so
they've really taken away any obstacle toher having a little bit of fun,
getting to be a kid who getsto be a kid, you know.
And when her ten year old brothersays, hey, can Jamie come play
outside with us, Mom Nikki canfinally say why yes, yes, she
can't please, she can, givingMom Nikki get quite the break. I
(22:21):
am sure. It's a story thatwe thought, Mike, just to make
your Monday, because really, whenit comes to make a wish, they
make days every day and make awish. Mid Atlantic is one of our
favorite organizations and the people that they'veteamed with to make this happen have made
Jamison's life even better as well asher family. If you want to read
this story, maybe you want tohelp out make a wish and help make

the Caribbe until Valentine's Day. They'resaying that you'll be treated to stress free,

close free experience, but there aresome rules in place. Yeah,
Like you know, you can't goout and lay in the sun and sit
around on the chaise lounge unless you'rewearing some bottoms as it were. H
we're sitting on a Towel's right,Yes, and you probably need to go
into the formal dining facilities where somedegree of clothing because food around that is
(26:03):
not a great thing. However, yes, if that doesn't scare you,
you can always go out to thelido deck and eat on one of the
all you can serve yourself buffets andyou'll be good to go in the buff
as the wind blows through and coolsyou off after a steamy day doing whatever
you do with no clothing on onthe boat. Wow. Okay, So,
just on face value, would youever partake in any type of newd
(26:29):
affair or nude vacation in the past. No, because insecurity today, I
don't really think I would care verymuch, but I would get bored after
probably two or three days, thenovelty would to wear off. What about
you? Okay, So it wouldn'tbe a physical insecurity thing for me,
because as I've gotten older, I'verealized we all don't look perfect. I
(26:52):
just don't trust myself not to beinappropriate with taking a accidental peak. You
know what I'm saying. It's likea Seinfeld up post. I know they
did ban photos and they did banvideos, unless, of course, everybody
involved is okay with it, inwhich case they're okay with it. I
don't know that how I could havea conversation with somebody on the lido deck
(27:12):
when everything is hanging out without me, even with sunglasses on. I don't
know how I could avert my eyes. I mean, for some people,
it's just a lifestyle choice and they'reinto being free. Let it all hang
out. I know, no punintended. Who's going to apply the sunscreen?
I think you probably need to bemore careful about offering to apply the
(27:34):
sunscreen on the back of somebody thatmay not be your preferred partner, as
it works well. And just imaginehow bad your back hurts when you get
a sunburn. Imagine if your privatesget burnt well then there's that too.
Be comfortable. I mean, butat least there won't be any tan lines
except for the tan lines down therenear the nother bits, because that's required
(27:55):
in order to tan on, saidLido Deck. But I mean there's a
lot of different invariances and nuances thatgo into it. Like we were saying,
what's in it for YOUY? Isthis important? Well, if you're
into this lifestyle, then this couldbe a thing and there is a cruise
for you. If you're not, well that's your business too. But what
