Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome to another episode of the Game Preview Podcast presented
by LifeLock. Week twelve, Short week for the Jets. Ethan Greenberg,
Cynthia Freeland in the house. As always, you'll hear from
John Polano later on little maybe a little Black Friday,
little Thanksgiving them. I guess we'll figure that out as
we get there. But in the meantime, Cynthia, like the
NFL just keeps finding ways to take over holidays. Not

(00:28):
only is it Thanksgiving football, the Jets on Black Friday football,
the first ever game Jets Dolphins at MetLife.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
You know, it's pretty cool to be the It's hard
to be the first ever at anything in the NFL,
So it's pretty cool to be a part of the
first ever anything, let alone the first ever game in
a solo window on a very special day. And obviously
it really is a very fitting game considering it's Amazon
that's distributing it, because you know, you could buy a
lot of Black Fridays. I don't know, but I do
think it's a very it's a very cool opportunity because

(00:59):
I think our our kids will be like remember back
in the day when they didn't have games on Black Friday.
It will be like we remember that you remember, and
then'll be a fun trivia question like I'm Jeberty some dayly,
oh man, was the first two games?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
You know, we're gonna know.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
You know, I know.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
It's so funny you mentioned the trivia thing because I
was literally about to say when you were done, like
we're about we're in living a trivia.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Question right here.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah, like forty However, many years from now is gonna
be like who is the first two teams to play
on Black Friday?

Speaker 4 (01:24):
It'd be like Jets Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Let me tell you you should ask week twelve, twenty
twenty three, and uh for the Jets. You know, this
is another trivia question later on in life. Who will
start at quarterback for the Jets? The answer is Tim
Boyle and the Jets made a little change here obviously,
and he meaning Boyle came in for Zach Wilson in

(01:46):
the third quarter of the end of it in Buffalo
down twenty nine to six, and Robert Salive was alluding
to like maybe this is just like the Jets need
a little bit of a spark. He mentioned that for
the Buffalo game and now entering Miami and Trevors Simeon
will be the immediate backup, Zach Wilson will be the
emergency quarterback. And you know, what are your thoughts Not

(02:07):
really on the move itself, because I don't think a
ton of people were surprised based on the way the
Jets weren't putting the ball in the end zone, but
what are your thoughts on like Tim Boyle as a quarterback,
because there's not like a huge sample size.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Here, Yeah, not a huge sample size. But we do
know a couple of things. Number One, we know that
Breeze Hall is really good and that's very helpful.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
The fact that you have a good run game will
help keep you in structure, meaning you're not going to
be in third in forevers, things like that. And you
know that the Dolphins defensive front has some guys that
can bring some heat Jalen Phillips. You know, even a
guy whose last name is Van Ginkle, which is hilarious,
but it feels like like Van Ginkle is someone who
we're going to be writing a Christmas story about. I

(02:48):
don't know, but you know, look like you're looking at
their the opportunity here and it's like, let's get in rhythm.
Let's see if we can get Tim Boyle, Like we
saw some passes to Breeze Hall that were really effective
against the Bills. Pressure keep pressure off this dude, And
how do you do that? You either run right at
the pressure or you use short passes, quick passes, anything
to kind of get them going. And I wouldn't even

(03:08):
be surprised if we saw something really like like more
like creative and really interesting from like a Garrett Wilson
like rushing. Let's like make Garrett Wilson look a little like,
you know, borrow one or two plays from Debot, not
all of them, just one or two of the like,
you know, more fun Debo esque type plays.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I think that would be awesome.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
And you know, like the Jets, first of all, maybe
call it cliche.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Maybe not. They're wearing their black uniforms on Black Friday.
Are you a fan of this or is it? Like
I'm a.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Huge fan of it.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Listen, I go straight on the nose, like, let's not PreTect,
Like who cares go straight on the nose.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
It's fun, it's playing into it.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
You're the home team, like, come on, Like, I don't know,
I think that's really cool.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I think that's if you're going to do it, do
it right, of course, the Jets do it right.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
And and like the jerseys are slick and they're only
wearing that one time this year.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
I mean, I.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Love the green ones too, but.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Look cool, both the alter the alternate uniforms for the Jets,
like the legacy uniforms which we saw twice and the
stealth black uniform which we haven't seen yet this year,
like both jennat both ten out of ten. And for
Tim Boyle, I think it's interesting though, Like this is
just such a little nugget, and it was in the
NFL research packet, but I think it's so interesting. He

(04:20):
started three games, he's lost all three, but two of
them have been decided by four or fewer points. And
not only that, he hasn't played in front of a
home crowd, like his three starts have all been on
the road.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
That's just like so different.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
I don't know, it's so it means nothing about the game,
not even a little bit, but you know, as it
does pertain to the game, like Tim Boyle does have
a you would imagine more of a grasp on the
Nathaniel Hackett offense just by being in it. From Green
Bay being in it obviously all throughout this offseason, compared
to Zach Wilson, who's just had one offseason to learn it.

(04:56):
Do you expect the playbook to change, not to change,
but to open up a little more just because he
knows it better, or are you still playing within the
same structure, because look, it's one offense when it's Aaron Rodgers,
and it's another when it's not.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Well, no matter who's the quarterback, unless it's like somehow
like someone of the other elite guys, it's never gonna
be the same as it is for Aaron Rodgers. Like
Aaron Rodgers gets like the carte blanche, like you can
do like is there even a playbook?

Speaker 3 (05:21):
It's like, well, what do you want to do? Arin? Okay, great,
anything right?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
But you know, I think when you look at at
least one stat from last week, I know it's a
tiny sample size from what happened between Zach and then
switching out to Tim, but you saw the ball come
out about a half a second quicker as an average
time to throw, which again, it just supports those quick passes.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
So maybe you open it up.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
In the sense of like different bodies, different humans get
the targets on the quick passes and you mix things
up because though looks now, you know everyone knows Brits
all is good.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I mean obviously it was the first thing I lad with.
Everyone knows Garrett Wilson's good.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Maybe we find some fun, you know, you know Jerry Rucker,
you never know, right, like some quick passes to some
names we have scene. But I think that it's just
less of a It's instead of it being like open
up the playbook more, it's like less of a drop
off or less of a change right immediately right, there's
less of a getting used to roll up phase as
there might be had he not known the plays ahead

(06:15):
of time.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, I definitely agree, and I will say that this
Dolphins defense, I would I would go as far to
say as like maybe overlooked. I mean, it's easy to
think about the Dolphins. You're like, look, Tyreek Hill, Jalen Wattle, Tua, Ballin', ballin', ballin',
Raheem Mostert eleven touchdowns on the ground, leads the NFL Ballin'.

(06:37):
And then you go to the defense and you're like, oh, wait,
like what do we have here? Like I'm just kind
of curious they have a good defense and they do
like led by Vic Fangio. And it's the numbers say
that Jalen Ramsey inserted back into the lineup has taken
that defense to another level.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Do you agree with that?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Well, yes, but I'd add an asterix because you also
get Xavian Howard more healthy as well, like he may
have been on the field before.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
But then remember the first game.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Jalen Ramsey came back, which I believe was a Chiefs game,
was like, not there was no Xavian Howard, so, oh no,
there's the one right before the Chiefs game. The game
just prior to the Chiefs game there was no x
and then there was only Jalen, and then Jalen was
coming back from a pretty significant injury. So it's like
we haven't seen these two play together. And Jalen's elite,
there's no doubt about that. He actually, to me, won

(07:22):
that game against the Raiders last week, stealing the deal
with that interception.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
But I think that you can't Xavian Howard is still
worth mentioning here. He's really really good as well.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yeah, I definitely think so. And Javon Holland just another
very good player. The Dolphins are the only team with
five players to have at least four sacks in twenty
twenty three. Bradley Chubb, Jalen Phillips, Christian Wilkins, Zach Steeler,
and your buddy Andrew Van Gingko.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Oh do you remember this movie She's all that?

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Yeah, I think so, I'm gonna glock anyway.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
So well, every time I hear it Ex Syler's name,
because he went to a small school in Michigan, it
reminds me of the Freddy Prince Junior, a character on that.
So anyone who's listening who is kind of a little
older than you my age, they will remember. And he
had this part where he uses a hacky sack and
he like he's like playing hackey.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
He's like the cool jock, right football player, jock cool.
He like makes this throw up whatever. I think his
name was, like Zach Syler anyways, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Yeah, he was like spelled different he sack, but but.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
It's pronounced it zach heck e sack. Go go go
check that out later. It's just so funny. So every
time they call his name, I think.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Heck e sack heck that is so fa.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Anyone who knows this movie. Who's listening, they'll totally get it.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
But she's all that for those who don't know. Came
out nineteen ninety nine. It is a rom com and
it is one hour and thirty five minutes, which is
how you know that it was early two thousand.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Yeah, well that's what I'm saying. Like now, movies are
like at least two hours.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
If you're one thirty five, you know that that's like
a good quality movie. And just looking at the I've
not seen this now that I'm looking at, like who's
in it?

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Uh, but I can.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Tell you that I'm really bad at like names of
actors and actresses. Looking at the faces here, I'm like,
I've seen you in a movie. I've seen you in
a movie. I've definitely seen you in a movie.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
And well, you know it's good because Paul Walker is
in it. Like anything in the late nineties that Paul
Walker was in, like yeah, you know Versity Blues, the
First Fast and Furious that was a billionaires.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Wait wait, oh wait, wait, why did John Plano to
my right just said, oh god, because he knows where
I'm about to go? Did you just say the First
Fast and Furious as and that's the only one that's good.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
No.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
No, I like the fact, but but it just means
it's so far back, like yeah, there's like Fast and
Furious five hundred and seventy six now, like they're never
gonna stop this franchise.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
You know, you know what, they're hilarious. They're actually comedies.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
If you ask me, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Watching that, I just laugh the whole time.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
I also, I've you know, Vin Diesel cracks me up
because his lines have gotten progressively shorter, but progressively like
more stoic and funny, and it makes sense when you
think about his character and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
I am grooted.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I was about to say something about Paul Walker fun fact.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
I don't know if you know this about me.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Too Fast, Too Furious is I think my favorite movie
of all time. But yeah, Too Fast, Too Furious I
could say, like almost every line from Too Fast, Too
Furious I quoted all the time.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
I have gifts on deck.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I've made gifts of the movie just to be able
to send, which I will now include whatever we decide,
like when we text and figure out when the times
are I will now only be responding in Too Fast,
Too Furious gifts. Maybe Fast and Furious franchise, but yeah,
like my favorite movie of all time.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I love that. That's so cute. Like I'm like, can't
believe it took us this many years to get there.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I know it never really came up in conversation, but yeah,
too Fast, too Furious also fun fat uh you know
I do my food video every week. I've included a
clip from the original Fast and Furious in this week's
Black Friday edition.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
So I can't wait. I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Wow, you really got you really got me fired up here.
I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
But you could also to make an awful pun and
I will see myself out after this. You can almost
say the Dolphins offenses Fast and Furious or too Fast
too furious. Hey yo, uh yeah, they're really They're really
fast though, I mean like they have like a lot
of a lot of speed, like the sickening amount of speed.
And Robert Sallis said. He also said that some he

(11:44):
was asked like, is this just a finesse team because
you think about the way of the speed, and he's like, no,
they they can get after you too, And I thought
I thought that was interesting.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Yeah, I mean it's a good team obviously, and there's
a lot of like the speed, the speed it is.
Look whenever you have Tyreek Hill, there's a ton of
burners on that team, right. But I actually thought it
was pretty funny last week. If you look at the
Next Gen's debts, you know who didn't have the highest
fastest time? It wasn't it was a Raider.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
It was a Raider?

Speaker 5 (12:18):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Uh wait, the fastest time on next Gen was a Raider?

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Was it a Raider? In coverage?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
But it was special teams? It didn't it was it
was in special But I mean, it just was. I
just thought it was funny because I was like, oh,
I want to see how much faster Tyreek is.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
And I'm like, okay, sir, I see you.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
There we go. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
So, but Tyreek is still crazy, like he's of.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
The ten fastest speeds as a ball carrier in like
forever or like you know, it's like seven or eight
of the top ten fastest speeds as a ball carrier.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
So ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
And the Jets did a great job against hill Waddle
last year. Moster got the Jets on the ground for
over one hundred at MetLife final score forty to seventeen.
That was the game where Quinnin's stiff arm Tyreek on
the fumble recovery and then he won the Angry Runs
Award on Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
I'm just curious, So, like, this offense seems to have
evolved right in year two. I mean, two is obviously
fully healthy. So do you think this is a better
group than maybe what the Jets all last year? And
mind you, the Jets didn't play against two Tungo II
looa last year in either game.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Well then number one, yes, because you have your starting
quarterback versus your not starting quarterback, you're going to be better.
But I think the thing that's more interesting about them
this year is you've seen them mix up a lot
of the looks. So you actually have Tyreek Hill catching
screen PASSSS, which is wild you have, you know, just
they've created new even if it ends up being the

(13:49):
same play once the ball is snapped, the alignment pre
snap looks very different. So I've been pretty impressed with
the fact that they've mixed up all those looks. And
they did that even before toront Armstead was fully healthy,
meaning they were trusting their O line.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
So it was just interesting.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
It was just interesting to see how in year two
they've not just like, let's run it back, let's do
the same thing. They're like, no, no, let's even if
it's the same thing, let's you know, get these details
right and figured it out.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
And Tua the last time the Jets played against him
Week fifteen, twenty twenty one in Miami, the Dolphins won
that game to a three for two interceptions that was
obviously pre Tyreek Hill. And you know, that was just
a much different Dolphins team, much different Jets team. Like
when you think when you take a look at the
box score and you're like, oh my god, like this
is a total overhaul from just two years ago, and

(14:42):
it's it's gonna be an interesting matchup for sure. I
think the interesting note here is what do the Jets
need to do on defense? Like, defensively, how do you
get after this team which has a two to three
record on the road.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
The interesting part about the Dolphins is that, like you
gotta when you have speed like Tyreek and this entire offense,
you play a lot of zone. And when you play
a lot of zone, you can get like it's a
little bit more, it can be a bit more risky.
So like if you watch, if you go back and watch,
like like there's there's some some Tyreek kill with like

(15:18):
a seventy four yard touchdown last week against the Raiders,
they just tried zone and they just didn't have anyone
that could match up with them. Now that's not the
case with the Jets. There's a lot more people who
can match up with the with that type of speed.
But again, no shade to the Raiders defense, just not
not anywhere near as good as the Jets. But you know,
it's it's interesting because Tyreek Hill carves you up and zone.

(15:38):
But then like, do you really want to play man
on him? I think that the way that you try
to do this is you try to disrupt the timing
of Tua, because Tua, when he throws from a clean pocket,
when he's not under pressure, it's hard to stop it.
And again, those are quick passes and a lot of yak.
It's the same thing like you see for San Francisco,
which obviously makes a lot of sense given with the
coaches from but you know, it's it's the type of
thing where if you can affect to his timing and rhythm.

(16:02):
What you saw last week was when the Raiders with
Max Crosby with their their front were able to affect Tua.
Then you see him starting to make mistakes. So the
more you can disrupt the timing of those quick passes,
the better off you are.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
And that's what I think that the Jets are really
well positioned to do.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
I mean, like if you look at the I was
we were texting during last week's game, Like the number
of double teams on Quinnin was like nine and the
first half something crazy. Usually see that number for the
full half, right, you see, you know, John Frank len
Myers was like five, Like there was just a ton
of guys with so many.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Double Who are you going to double? How many people
are you gonna throw out there?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Like you can only you only have so many people
that you can double teams. So that's where I think
that the Jets have a really significant chance to disrupt
that timing. Get to in an uncomfortable position where he's
throwing under pressure, not the same not the same result.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
And we'll see what happens in just a few short
days here again, the Jets have a short week after
back to back road games at Las Vegas at Buffalo,
now home for three straight games starting on Black Friday,
and we're gonna catch up with a guy, John Polano
after this quick word from our sponsors, Heads up, Jets fans,
there are more identity threats than most people realize, and

(17:15):

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Welcome back to.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
The Game Preview Podcast presented by LifeLock. John Polano in
the house. You know, we have a very important question
for you, and now I'm gonna speak on Cynthia here.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Are we going Thanksgiving themed or are we going Black
Friday themed?

Speaker 6 (17:55):
If they would award us a game on Thanksgiving, then
the NFL would get a Thanksgiving theme game.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Okay, but they didn't, So it's going to be a
Black Friday themed game.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Fair enough. I respect it.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
Some are saying black Friday is the new Thanksgiving?

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Oh? Is that what they're saying? Some are saying, I
think you're making it stuff off? Now I don't.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
I don't lie, so yeah, sure, sure, Uh, Cynthia, where
do you stand on that?

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Real quick? Is Black Friday the new Thanksgiving?

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I actually think Black Friday and Thanksgiving are one and
the same. It's just one long four day weekend, you know.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yeah, I'm more along that line as well. Fair enough,
but yeah, why don't you fire up?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Well?

Speaker 4 (18:31):
What do we got cooking?

Speaker 5 (18:32):
All right?

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, we don't mean turkey wise, I mean, what do
we have cooking on the show?

Speaker 6 (18:36):
No? When when the Jets are playing? That's actually a
really good way. When the Jets are done playing, there
will be no more cooking. All the cooking will be done.
We will only just have really really good deals. So
in this Jets Dolphins matchup, we have all of our
full price matchups. We have like Sauce versus Tyreek, DJ
Reed versus Gylen Waddle, Jillen Ramsey versus Garrett Wilson, all

(19:00):
those super.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Great match ups.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
But I want to check out the matchups that are
flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
I see, So I go to the clearance track.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
Yeah, we're we're going out in the big crowds at
three am on Friday morning. We're breaking into Target and Walmart.
Maybe that's a little bit of a data reference because
there's so much online shopping on now. But we're going
to get in line and we're going to wait for
that flat screen TV that's ninety nine percent.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Off, Cynthia. He just called us old again.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
That's okay, I own it. I'm old.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
That's that. That reference includes myself.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Yeah, sure, crazy when I was younger.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
But the guy wasn't alive then. But I heard about it.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
My dad mis Plano told me about it.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
I've seen the black and white tape told me about it.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Hey, but he put on the VHS S tape. This
guy maybe DVD at this point, I don't know. That's
scared Blu Ray, Blu Ray, like.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Where you born before or after? Can hardly wait? Don't
answer that, Okay.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
All right?

Speaker 6 (19:57):
So I have three types of and so there's three matchups,
and based on the lower the price, the more underrated
the matchup is. But honestly, all of them could play
a huge role on Friday.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
Sure you almost said Sunday. I've been doing that all week.

Speaker 6 (20:10):
I have Friday, Sunday fellas a seven day week business. Yeah,
and it's so hard to keep track.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Okay, so how does this going to work?

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Are we are Cynthia and I going to talk about
the same one or how does it work in terms
of you position what the discount is and we say
if we buy.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
It, that works?

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (20:28):
You tell me yes that last you guys work shopped it.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Okay, all right, great, great, great, all right, why don't
you fire up the first one?

Speaker 5 (20:36):
All right?

Speaker 1 (20:36):
First, and are we working as a team, like we're
going to decide if we are buying this matchup.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
I don't know if like one of you is super
cheap or one of you likes to splurgs a little bit.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
So it depends on my mode realistically.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
So but if black Friday you put I hear the
word deal on Black.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Friday, I'm going to look for the best one. It's
like the name of the game.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
Okay, So you can pass on some of these, but
so first we have our discount buy These are the
ones where you're like you walking up and you see
it on the stand and it's something that's kind of
out front and it's like thirty percent off.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
It's like, is that really that much cheaper?

Speaker 6 (21:07):
What now I'm just paying the price that you paid
for the manufacturer to get it.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
Like, that's not that great.

Speaker 6 (21:13):
So the first one we have is the Miami running
back room versus CJ. Moseley and Quincy Williams. Obviously, everyone
wants to talk about Hill and Waddle in that high
flying offense, but they have the number two ranked rush
attack in the NFL despite ranking twentieth in attempts.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
That's insane they're putting up that many hours. This does
need an injury update though.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
Devon h Chan, who spent the last five weeks on
I R with a knee injury, bumped his knee early
in their last week's matchup. McDaniel said today that it
was a precautionary removal. They were worried that maybe something
had happened with that same knee, So honestly, his status,
it seems like, is up in the air, but most
are still leads the NFL with eleven rushing touchdowns fourteen

(21:56):
total skirmts touchdowns, which is only second McCaffrey and he'll
be going against Quincy Williams CJ. Mosley to the best
linebackers in the league. So are you buying that this
is an under a matchup in a discount matchup.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
I don't think it's underrated.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yeah, that's where I'm at too.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Like I think if you, I think it's kind of
like what we were talking about before, you think about
tyreek Hill, you think about Wattle, you think about Tua,
and then right under that you think about exactly what
you're talking about. Because Raheem Mostert in the past, whether
he was on the San Francisco forty nine ers, whether
he was on the Miami Dolphins, has gashed the New

(22:32):
York Jets, and even last year I met life, he
had over one hundred and to your point, he's having
great success this year and CJ. Mosley and Quincy Williams
might lead the Jets rush defense, but the Jets rush
defense past two weeks has been spotty.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
So I'm in agreement with Cynthia.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yeah, when I'm looking at this one, I think the
outlier of that seventy to twenty game where they really
just beat up on the Broncos, it kind of pads
the stats a little bit. I mean it's especially for
Devon a Chan. I think he changed it to that
devon a Chan. So you're looking at a situation where
I mean, he was running for like eleven yards a
clip in that game. So you got to like even

(23:11):
some of that out because you don't often get a
seventy to twenty game like ever, maybe in the college,
but not in the NFL level. And I'm looking at
this opportunity for them to keep like Jets when I
win this game, they do not allow them to run
and they force to into uncomfortable passing situations. So I
actually think that this matchup of the run game, like

(23:32):
limit their ability, get a bunch of run stops, make
sure that Raheem Mostert and I don't know if a
Chan is likely to play it. It feels like it
feels I mean, if they took him out after like
two snaps something crazy last week, it just doesn't feel
like even if he's active, I can't imagine him taking
like just this huge volume of attacks. So limit that
keep them in this position where Tua has to find

(23:54):
his guys deep in the field, and that I believe.
So I think it's very Actually it's like one of
the premiere matchups in this one.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I think it's one of those like Black Friday deals
where you walk by the stand and you're like, to
your point, is this really a deal? Or like or
did you just was this this price yesterday and you're
just telling me it's thirty percent off today and therefore
it's placebo.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
But I think it's a I think it's a high a.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Price thirty percent to bring it back down.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Yes, yes, yes, there's some sneaky things going on behind
closed doors here. This is a good matchup. I'm not
buying it, all right, we're keeping our money here.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Love it, love it, it'll it'll stay to the side,
thank you, say aside. All right. Next we're gonna go
to our half off matchups.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
This one is the one that is fifty percent off,
which seems like a great deal. But you may still
be hunting for that ninety percent off one. But I'll
give you this one and see if you you like it.
So we have defensive lineman Christian Wilkins versus the Jets
interior o line, so Joe Tiitman, Laken Tomlinson, Chris Glazer,
kind of depending on who starts, but so again, the

(24:57):
headline grabbers here. The full price deals are Bradley Chubb
and jail of Phillips for the Miami Dolphins versus the
tackles on the outside. But I feel like Chris Wilkins
has been incredibly underrated. He has four and a half
sacks this year, which is already tied his career eye,
fourteen QB hits which is a career eye, and forty
one tackles. And the way I've heard him described by
other experts is he's kind of similar to Quentin in

(25:18):
terms of him just sucking the air out of the
interior of teams O lines and kind of just letting
those guys like Chubb and Jalen work. The Jets obviously
have played thirteen different O line combinations this season, and
between Titman, glaber Glazer and Tomlinson they have not found
the most continuity. So with another violenteer alignment coming up

(25:39):
on the schedule, do you think the Jets O line
can match that kind of find some continuity quickly to
slow Wilkins.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
So we have to decide if we're buying this matchup
right fifty I think, I mean like I like the matchup,
like in terms of the fifty percent off, I think
to your point, Wilkins is underrated and with the thing
for me that comes where I'm thinking about it is

(26:06):
like Tim Boyle, I don't believe has the same kind
of athletic ability as Zach Wilson. So if you have
interior pressure, that's gonna mess a lot of things up
real quick for Tim Boyle, the receivers, so on and
so forth. So fifty percent off you're telling me I
can get a good deal, I'm going to buy it.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
I think, yeah, i'd buy it too.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
The other thing I'll point out, I mean, if you
watch that Monday game and somehow Creed Humphrey got a
I mean ridiculous call, like I'm not sure how that
even happens. So I guess I don't know anything about
interior offensive lineman anymore. But if a center can do anyways,
long story short, I don't.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
I think it's going to be hard.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
I love Tipman, I think he's plaid so well, but
Christian Wilkins is coming on really strong. Plus because they've
got so many pressure cookers on every side, It's just
it just makes things more difficult.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
You're really putting a lot of stress.

Speaker 5 (26:57):
On those cards.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 6 (27:00):
All right, let's see to our last one here, Okay,
So while I was doing my research on Black Friday,
I wanted to find like what the terminology was for
deals that are like ninety percent off, and I found
one that's called the Deal of the Hour. So these
are deals that will like pop up during the middle
of the day.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Yeah, and people you can only get it from like
right now. They expire their effect exactly.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
You got to strike while the iron's hot, exactly.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Okay, so people will rush to this area.

Speaker 6 (27:23):
And for this matchup, I have wide receiver Xavier Gibson
versus cornerback Xavian Howard. And I know that doesn't sound
like the flashiest matchup. You're definitely not popping open that box,
and like this it doesn't have all the cool stuff
that everyone's expecting. But Zavid Gibson has seemingly taken over
the number two wide receivering drop from Allen Wizard and
could in this matchup draw coverage from Howard. Am I

(27:47):
crazy to think that this is a really underrated matchup?

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Not?

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Yeah, not a ninety No, I don't think you're crazy.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
I just I feel like with the sample size of
Gibson taking more snaps than Lazard, I'd be curious to
know what that is over the course of the next
couple weeks.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
And for me, that's why I'm buy or.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Beware here because like you're like, it's flashy, it's ninety
percent off.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
You're like, woo, this is a great deal. Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Maybe this is like like do I really need this
in my closet or am I just like attracted to
it because it's ninety percent off.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
That's where I stand with it.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Like do I think whoever the number two receiver is
against Alan Lazard is or against Xavieran Howard is a
premier matchup? Absolutely because Jalen Ramsey, Garrett Wilson. I don't
know if they're gonna shadow, but that's that's like a
dog on dog matchup. So to me, whether it's Lazard, Gibson, Brownlee,
Charles Cobb, whomever it is against Xavier Howard, I'm buying that.

(28:52):
I just don't know if I'm buying specifically Gibson.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
I mean I'll buy it because I think I like
the sneak hack situation here, right, Like I while I
know that the Dolphins know that Gibson's take a big
step forward, like it's not it's not there aren't a
ton of plays in the playbook where you see him
as being super impactful. So maybe that is a very
sneaky ninety percent off deal because that's the type of

(29:17):
thing where like we're talking about earlier, like you.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Can create some new plays.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
You can like borrow something that the Dolphins are doing,
meaning make the pre snap looks things we haven't seen before,
and then allow that to proceed in something that will
make a lot of sense as long as it's a
quick pass. I just think that's the smart way to
start and get in rhythm.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Yeah, I'm tired of the black Friday Shop.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
No shopping always tires me out, and like that that's real.
You put me, you put me in somewhere shopping and
I'm like, I'm out by the end of it.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
And I do so well.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
I'm like an iPhone battery or any kind of battery,
I do so well in the beginning, fully charged, and
then I just woo boom and I'm done, and I like,
all of a sudden, you look down at your phone,
You're like, how did they get to it was at
eighty two a minute ago.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
That's me shopping. That was a great job.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
I have one question for you, Cynthia before we wrap up. Yes,
kind of in the same theme of Pilano's Black Friday
discount deals.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Is there a.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Player or a deal a matchup that you don't think
we've discussed enough.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
I mean, I think I want to see in this
matchup specifically, this is where I think that the like
we'll really see Bryce Huff like just crush, because there's
a lot their old line is they're good, They're not Elie,
you know what I'm saying. So I feel like this

(30:45):
could be like a couple of.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Sacks for him, like two, like one and a.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Halfdie that'd be great, I think, to your point earlier.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Just I care more about I'm a math person.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
I care more about pressures and sacks, just because that's
it's easier to you know, like you can control a pressure,
you can't necessarily control the sax. So you know, it's like,
let's just see how this front look. I just think
this is the type of front where obviously coach knows
how to play this type of front, right so, and
he knows how to play this type of offense. So
I'm looking at this and I'm saying, Okay, we got

(31:16):
something here that could be pretty interesting.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
And to your point earlier, like you disrupt to his timing.
Perhaps Bryce Huff could be a big part of that.
Maybe maybe get to an off rhythm early. The one
player that I just want to shout out in terms
of someone we haven't really discussed a whole lot is
Javon Holland, the safety on the Dolphins, the highest graded
safety voted by or graded by PFF in twenty twenty three.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Just a real smart player, seems like.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
And no matter where he is, wherever he lines up,
you got to account for him. So that is definitely
someone then I'm keeping an eye on. And if you're
listening to this, make sure to keep an eye on
everybody that we discussed, because they just play the Dolphins.
Black Friday. I hope everyone involved your deals.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
And then watch your football.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Get your deals done early, Yes, heat up your leftovers,
get your place ready, let's go.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
I'm about it.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
And uh maybe Polano and I will do some Black
Friday shopping in the press box.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
I'm here for it.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Yeah, maybe let me know what the food is.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
You'll have to let me know what the meal is
like if they like lean into Thanksgiving or if they're
just like it's over.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
That's a great question.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Better not be leftovers.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
I kind of I'm kind of in the into the
idea of like fake leftovers, you know, like like like y, yeah,
like I'm weighing on that, if you know, I'll be interested.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Now now I'm interested to see what they have.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
Yeah, but now I'm fearful that like they're just gonna
take the leftovers from the Giants home game last weekend.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
And yeah, I'm hoping that's not the case.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
But if the Giants were to play, let's say, on Thanksgiving,
which they're not, then they would then they maybe just
have the leftovers and boom, there it is.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Thanksgiving leftovers could be worse.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
It's pretty worse.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Well, Planto, Cynthia, I hope you both have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
