Speaker 1 (00:14):
Busy day here at One Jets Drive, Day three of
the NFL Draft. The Jets all over the board, Joe
Douglas executing a total of six draft day trades, and.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
They still have mister Irrelevant in round seven.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, round seven's coming up.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Four trades today by Joe Douglas and reported trade of
a veteran as well, because it appears John Franklin Myers
is heading to the Rocky Mountains and enjoining the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
So this is what the Jets have done so far
in the NFL Draft, number eleven overall, Olu Fashion who
out of Penn State. They traded back from ten to eleven.
Then they go up from seventy two to sixty five
to draft Malachi Corley. And then let's get into it
today Braylon Allen, Jordan Travis.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Isaiah Davis, and Juan Tes Stiggers.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Two fifty seven the final pick and the draft mister Irrelevant.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
The Jets still need to make that pick.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Joe Douglas and Robert Sali will address the media following
that selection.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
You would assume, but that's also the.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Undrafted free agent gold mine that you know, the scouts are.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
They live for the UDFA. So we have a lot
to break down.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Those guys are probably on the phone right now getting
ready for post point draft action, because hey, listen, the
Jets do have mister irrelevant number two fifty seven overall,
but then they'll be.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Trying to get some free agents in here and.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Rookie mini camp commences next week behind us out here
on the field.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Joe Douglas, like we said, he's been active. Let's just
start going pick by pick. The Jets had a fourth
round pick, then they traded back. Originally they had three.
The first selection the Green and White Maid was Wisconsin
running back Braylan Allen. Now you take a look at
Brayln Allen. The book on him is that he's another
physical running back. The Jets draft physical receiver Malachai Corley

(02:01):
yesterday today their first pick, another physical option.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
He's a big dude. He's young. He's twenty years old.
I believe he's the youngest person in the entire draft class.
And here's the kid who rushed for more than twelve
hundred yards as a freshman at six point eight yards
of carrying twelve rushing touchdowns. Then he followed that up
with a twelve hundred yard season.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
He's the number.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Nine rusher in Wisconsin history in terms of yards, which
with nearly thirty five hundred thirty four.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Ninety four in all big dude.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
And also he is powerful in the weight room six
hundred and ten pounds squat and a four hundred and
five pound power clean.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Just like you Greens, this guy is a physical freak.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
When you take a look at his age and what
he was able to lift and squat, he's wear number zero.
That numbers open here for the Green and White, by
the way, and I think when you look at how
he fits with the Jets right now, you know that
Breese Hall is the main back. Iziobana Kanda has speed,
we know that, but this guy has a big time
power element of his game that maybe the Jets haven't

(03:16):
had in the past.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Well, the bottom line here is we were expecting the
Jets to take a running back here on day three.
Little did we know that Braylan Allen would be number
one because the Jets actually sandwich pair of running backs
around a developmental quarterback. So, uh, you know, he was

(03:39):
considered one of the better running backs in this class.
So the Jets go for a value pick here in
round four to get their days started again. Joe Douglas
awfully busy on the trade front, four trades in all,
and that's not even including what happened with John Franklin Myers.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Braylan Allen six one, two thirty five. The pro comp
that the thirty third team, which is one of the outlets.
Their pro comp for Braylan Allen was AJ Dillon and
AJ Dillon of course a big powerful back. You take
a look at Braylan ad Braylan I almost said Braylan
Edwards because he made the pick yesterday from Malachi Corley.

(04:17):
I assume four dot dot six dot is that is
four hundred and six pounds. And not to mention, this
video what's not shown here was taken in twenty twenty two,
So you're talking about a hand clean here of four
hundred and six pounds in two years ago. And he's
twenty years old now. Not only is he twenty years
old now, he can't have a drink until after the

(04:39):
regular season because he won't turn twenty one until his
first NFL season is underway and actually closed.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
I'm just excited about the competition at camp because you
have a star in the backfield in Brese Hall and
the Jets also are very high on Iziobana Kanda. Alan
just gives you something a little bit different in terms
of when we're talking about Abonikonda, who the Jets drafted
last year out of Pittsburgh. He's more of that shifty,

(05:08):
explosive back where Brayl Allen he's not going to outrun
too many guys to the sideline. He's more one cut downhill.
He's gonna be a downhill runner in between those tackles.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, I'm excited to see what he offers on the field.
And for more from Braylen Allen. From Braylan Allen, Man,
he's really tripping me up. I keep mixing him up
with Braylan Edwards two times.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
It can happen, It can it can happen. It's day
three of the draft. You're all good, You're all good.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
All right, So let's hear from Braylan Allen with Caroline
Hendershot here.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
With the newest New York Jet running back, Braylan Allen. Braylan,
how does it feel to be drafted by the New
York Jets.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
It's an amazing feeling.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
Waited a long time, so for it to be the
Jets call on my phone is amazing and can't wait
to get to work.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
I know you met with running back coach Tony Dues
briefly during the pre draft process. What was that conversation, Like,
what did he tell you?

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (06:05):
So, like you said, very brief really just during informal
interviews at the combine and I just remember them giving
me a test and a little quiz you know, about
their scheme and whatnot, and.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Gave him back the test.

Speaker 7 (06:19):
And he told me I was the smoothest, quickest and
most accurate through the test.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
So for sure I left a pretty good impression on them.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
So yeah, I'm.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
Excited to work with sounds like it.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Now.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
You went to Wisconsin to play defense, you end up
running back. So how do you describe your style of
play to people that have never seen it before?

Speaker 6 (06:39):
Yeah, I would just say.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
Running back with the defensive player's mindset, like you said,
you know, was recruited as a defensive player safety slash
linebacker type hybrid, So I run the ball with that
mentality of punishing and creating the contact.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
So definitely getting the physical you know, downhill running.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Now you get to reunite with a former Wisconsin teammate
of yours, center Joe Tipman. How excited are you back
with him?

Speaker 6 (07:07):
Incredibly excited. That's my guy.

Speaker 7 (07:09):
So I'm looking forward to running behind running behind those
halls again.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Now I know you're a Wisconsin native, so this name
isn't absurd to you either. Aaron Rodgers is your quarterback.
What is that going to be like for you?

Speaker 6 (07:22):
That's going to be unreal?

Speaker 7 (07:24):
Uh, definitely going to be a surreal feeling, you know,
being in the backfield with him.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
Like you said, you know, growing up Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
Kid, really you know, forty forty five minutes from from
Green Bay, so you know, whole families really Packer fans
for the most part.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
And you know, Rogers has been has been the guy.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Now, you've worked almost your entire life to get to
this point. I know it's still maybe a little surreal
for you. But when you look back at all of
this work that you've put in, how does it feel
to know that you finally made that goal of yours,
making it to the NFL draft to actually happen.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
Yeah, it's it's an amazing feeling, you know, Like you said,
so many years of hard work and dreaming about that call,
in this moment, it's amazing feeling.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
So I'm just I'm sure that to get to work.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
And what's the biggest thing that you're looking forward to
with joining the Jets?

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Winning winning?

Speaker 7 (08:17):
I know we our quarterback has has a ring of
his own, so I'm sure you know he's itching to
get back and get a second one. So that's the goal.
I know just as well as me that everybody has
that has that same goal in mind. So look forward
to to winning some rings.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Awesome, Brayliant, We appreciate the time and welcome to New York.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
Thank you so much. I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Really great stuff from Braylen Allen, and like I said earlier,
his pro com from some of the national guys, including
Charles Davis who's on the desk at Detroit is AJ
Dillon and actually Braylen Allen took to Twitter and he said, hey,
this is also from a couple of years ago, from
earlier this offseason actually in February, says when's that squad off?
Because both Alan and Dylan can put up major numbers

(09:03):
with the squad.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Rock again, Allen insane number six hundred and ten pounds squad.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, that's a lot of irons.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
So he's a powerful dude, again, very accomplished runner at Wisconsin,
and he joins a former teammate from the Badgers here
in Joe Tipman, who is going to be anchoring that
Jets offensive line from the center position. But the good
thing about Allen too is that he's young. He's twenty,
so there's a lot of development that he's still going

(09:35):
to have. It's going to be interesting training camp because
the Jets did pick up a pair of running backs
here on Day three in the draft.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, and Joe Douglas has selected a running back in
each draft that he's been general manager of the New
York Jets is Aban Kana is also a very young
running back. So between about a Kanda and Alan, the
Jets have a lot of youth in the backfield, including
Breese Hall as well.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
And then after the.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Jets elect to go running back, they stay on the
offensive side of the ball and they go to what
a position that I don't think is a surprise to us,
because Joe Douglas said he would like the Jets to
become like the quarterback factory that the Packers.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Had in the late nineties. You think about Mark Brunella Day.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Three selection Matt Hasselbeck as well and Aaron Brooks. The
Jets select Jordan Travis out of Florida State, who's an
extra intriguing prospect because you don't really know where he
would have been drafted had he not broken his leg
in November.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Yeah, and the Jets get him in round five, number one,
seventy one overall.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
In his sixth college season.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Last year at Florida State, he at twenty touchdown passes
just the two interceptions, completing nearly sixty four percent of
his balls. The problem for Travis last year in Florida
State man he had that devastating ankle injury in that
game against Northern Alabama, so Florida State didn't have an

(10:51):
opportunity to compete for the national championship. But he's a
guy who steadily approved improved throughout his collegiate career and
really got better, and that Florida State team had a
dream season up to the time.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Where he was injured against North Alabama.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
But if you're him, what better spot to be than
the New York Jets, where you have a future Hall
of Famer at quarterback and Aaron Rodgers. You're going to
be able to learn from him and watch him and
Tyrod Taylor, a guy who's done a lot of good
things in the National Football League as well.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, I think we've been saying that a lot.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I mean we said it after the Jets drafted Olu
fashion it was like, what room would you want to
be in? This is a great situation for Olu, It's
a great situation for Jordan Travis, especially when you think
about what you said, you.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Were recovering from an injury.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
There's really no pressure to need to hustle back into
the lineup for someone like him to learn from these guys.
I mean, Tyrod Taylor was drafted in the sixth round
by the Way in twenty eleven out of Virginia Tech,
so that that's something to think about when he was
drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, which of course is where
Joe Douglas came from. So I do think that there's

(12:01):
value in this position, of course, And you know that
Jets needed another arm to add in the quarterbacks room
after they traded Zach Wilson.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Dual threat at Florida State too. He set the career
mark in terms of total offense with ten thousand, five
hundred and fifty four yards and also the school quarterback
rushing record with nineteen hundred and ten yards on the
ground thirty one rushing touchdowns. So he's the guy who

(12:29):
was able to get it done with his feet if
there was nothing happening down the field there at Florida State.
One of his favorite targets, of course, is now a
division rival with the Buffalo Bills, and that's Keyan Coleman,
who started the second round proceedings on Friday.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
That's it is Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Right, the days are definitely mixing together here as we
as we're on the back end of round or Day
three of the NFL Draft.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Couldn't leader So I wouldn't say he's got the biggest
arm in the world, and he's not also the.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Biggest guy in stature.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
But again, he continued to progress throughout his collegiate career
and really had a nice season with Florida State last year.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
You talked about he's now an opponent or a rival
of Keon Coleman with the Buffalo Bills. He's rejoining a
former teammate going and Jermaine Johnson. Obviously, Johnson very excited
to add his former teammate, and for more from Jordan Travis,
Let's go back to Caroline.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Hendershot here with the newest New York Jet quarterback, Jordan Travis. Jordan,
who are you celebrating this big day with today?

Speaker 8 (13:40):
I have my family downstairs, my agent, my marketing lady,
my best friend.

Speaker 6 (13:47):
So I mean it's such a blessing.

Speaker 8 (13:49):
I mean, experiencing that movement with them, It's so cool
and I'm so blessed.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Sure, what was that phone call like receiving from the
Jets coaching staff telling you that you were going to
be in New York Jet?

Speaker 6 (14:02):
Honestly, I mean that feeling. I can't even describe it.
I kind of blacked out a little bit.

Speaker 8 (14:05):
I mean I saw the call and I mean my
heart started racing. I mean, it's just been such a journey,
and I'll glory to God at the end of the
day because I would not be here without him, my family.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
So I'm just so grateful to be here.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
It's been a long journey for you. You've worked your
whole life for this. Your college career didn't end the
way that you intended it to, but you made it
to the NFL. Can you even put that into words
Right now.

Speaker 6 (14:30):
I can't, I really can't. Once again this God Glory
to Godden.

Speaker 8 (14:34):
I'll go to my family because I wouldn't be here
without them.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
What did the Jets coaching staff tell you in the
pre draft process of what they saw on you and
what you could add to the Jets?

Speaker 8 (14:44):
Yeah, I mean they talked about the person I am
a lot. That was the main thing, is who I
am as a person and how I treat my teammates
and how I was walking around the combine and I
wasn't obviously able to participate, but I was always positive
and just treat everybody with respect. I think that's really big.
But when it comes to the football fit, I mean,
I'm a playmaker. I'm out there doing what I can
no matter what to help the team win.

Speaker 6 (15:05):
And I'm a winner. I'm a competitor.

Speaker 8 (15:07):
But yeah, I mean meeting coach Down and Coach Hewlett.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
It's just, I mean, it's such a blessing.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
I'm so grateful joining a room with Rod Taylor and
Aaron Rodgers as two of these new mentors for you.
What are you going to try to learn from both
of them?

Speaker 8 (15:25):
Everything, how they treat their teammates, how they carry theirselves
off the field. On the field obviously, how they study
a playbook, study defenses, coverages, all that type of stuff.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
I'm trying to pick their brain with everything they do.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
I mean, two of the best quarterbacks in the league,
and I have an opportunity just to go in there
and just learn from and how I can't.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Freaking wait for anyone who hasn't seen you play before,
how would you describe your style of play?

Speaker 8 (15:53):
Just a playmaker, can throw the ball, can run the ball,
guy that goes out there and will put his body
on the line to help the team win when he
needs to. Yeah, and just a hard worker every single down.
You're gonna get everything out of me, and for the
rest of my career, You're gonna get everything out of me.

Speaker 6 (16:08):
And I'm gonna do everything I can do.

Speaker 8 (16:10):
I mean to help his team win a championship, multiple championships.

Speaker 6 (16:14):
So I can't wait.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
What's the thing you were most excited about with coming
to New York?

Speaker 8 (16:20):
I mean, out of everything about it. I mean, I'm
a New York Jet and it's a dream come true.
I can't wait to meet all the teammates. I mean
all the coaches. You see Jermaine Johnson, my guy, I
just can't wait to get up there.

Speaker 6 (16:32):
I can't.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
What did Jermaine tell you in that pre draft process
when you were talking to him about the Jets.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
Yeah, I mean, he just kept saying, we need you,
we need you.

Speaker 8 (16:41):
And I was texting him a lot. He's making tweets
every now and then stuff. But yeah, I mean, I
just I mean, being Jermaine's teammate again is such a
blessing to me.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
He's such a great person and obviously such a great
football player. So I can't wait to get out there
with him too.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Well, we can't wait to have you up here. Congratulations again,
Thanks for the time.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
Thank you very much. I appreciate you so.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Up until this point.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
If you take a look from round one to round four,
after the Jets selected Jordan, Travis still had not selected
a defensive player, No we select Yeah, okay.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
I just want to say, you root for a guy
like that. That course, everything that he endured throughout his
college career to.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Get to that point.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
He goes down with the injury, and he's so humble
and he's so excited.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
He can sense his enthusiasm for coming here. And working
with a guy like Rogers. I think it's a cool story.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
I definitely think it's a cool story.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
The Jets, after Jordan Travis still didn't go defense. They
actually double dipped in the running back position with Isaiah
Davis out of South Dakota State, who was a first
team All American and he led the FCS in rushing.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Its very interesting move.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I think that if Jets fans on Twitter were a
little confused by this, but the Jets added another back
in the backfield, another horse to the stable.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Well, sometimes when we're discussing the big board, we're talking
about horizontals and verticals, maybe they just went by not
need obviously, and they just said, hey, listen, this is
the good best.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Guy on our board right now.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
I'm going to be fascinated to hear both Joe Douglas
and Robert Sala address Allen and Davis in terms of
what potentially they think either guy can bring to the
table as far as special teams is concerned. This dude's
production off the charts. I mean, you're talking about forty
six games, fifty career touchdowns, more than four five hundred

(18:36):
and forty eight yards on the ground over the past
two seasons, he rushed for more than three thousand yards
and had twenty three touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Small school, big time production.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
He led all FBS and FCS players with fifty four
carries of at least ten yards in twenty twenty three.
Ultra productive for the jack Rabbits and underrated team name
by the way, And I think that it's going to
be interesting to your point to see what they have
in terms of special teams, because when you get to
day three, that's really what you have to look at.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
That was an awesome run at the goal.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Right, Damn, that's what popped it. Melanchi.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
I would really like right thinking about it, to get
in my way by the goal line.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
I love that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
So I think it's an interesting move though with a
guy like Isaiah Davis. But now I think before the
draft you would have imagined the Jets adding a running
back to the room, whether that's a veteran a rookie.
I feel like maybe now the narrative has shifted a
little bit after adding both Alan and Davis.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Yeah, and again, Breece Hall worked his way up last year.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
As far as early in the season.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
The Jets wanted to slowly bring him back and make
sure you didn't jeopardize anything he was doing. And by
the end of the year, Brece Hall was one of
the top running backs in football. And with all these
weapons around the Jets. As far as an offensive side
of the ball, Bryce Hall might be a guy who

(20:05):
goes two thousand yards from scrimmage. I don't think that's
unrealistic at all. This season and upon a conda, I
thought he showed some flashes down the stretch. And now
you add Ellen and Davis, two interesting, big guys, powerful
dudes who were productive on the collegiate level.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Yeah, and Davis got a lot of work in South
Dakota State, over two hundred rushes each of the last
two seasons.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
And so it's going to be.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Interesting to see how it plays out in the backfield.
But then Joe Douglas finally went to the defensive side
of the football first time in the draft. With this
guy right here, Quantz Stiggers, who, by the way, is
you're talking about stories before.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
People to root for?

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yep, if there's anyone to root for, this might be
the best story in the entire draft. Quantest Stiggers quits
football in twenty twenty during the pandemic. After his father
passed away unrelated to the pandemic, he.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Returns to football. His mom signs him up.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
For the fan controlled league, which is basically an indoor
seven on seven ball. Then he goes from there to
the Toronto Argonauts, which is what you're seeing right here,
the Argos, the Canadian Football League, and today Quantes Stiggers
became the first CFL player to be drafted to the NFL.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
It's just it's a really cool story.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
It's a very unique story, and the traits are there
for a guy to actually make an impact on the NFL,
both on special teams and potentially defense.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
He started sixteen games last season, tied per second in
the CFL with five interceptions, and he had fifty six tackles.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
I'll tell you what. Very yeah, very interesting.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
Though the Jets are loaded up top at that cornerback position.
I'm gonna be interested to watch him from a special
teams perspective. But give this guy a lot of credit
in terms of person appearance, sticking with it, getting back
in there and taking the long road to the National
Football League.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
This is what Day three is all about.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Yeah, I think when you take a look at Stiggers.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
First of all, he said that he works out with
Michael Carter the Second and Isaiah Oliver. He's worked out
with both of them in the offseason. Think about Michael
Carter the Second, a Round five selection now one of
the best slot corners in the NFL. Also a guy
that he's joining this room. Stiggers joins the room with
Brandon Eckles, who you were talking about special teams defense value.
Eckles started for the Jets as a rookie in twenty

(22:33):
twenty one. He takes a step back, he grows a
bigger role on special teams. He's now as you would
imagine a starting gunner for the Jets. He was a
starting gunner opposite Justin Hardy last year. This year, as
we currently stand, you'd imagine IRV Charles Brandon Eckles your
two gunners. This guy Quantest Stiggers, there's no reason why
he shouldn't be on that same type of blueprint. Lejay

(22:55):
Doosibal talks about it all the time. The guys you
draft in Day three, you want them to be the
impact special teams players and guys who can either develop
as spot starters or straight up starters.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
Do you like watching the CFL highlights this as far
as what they do in the end prior to the snaps,
all the movement. Yeah, stickers comes to a league where
people say, hey, NFL, we're past happy. Here in the CFL.
You only got three downs to get a first down.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, I think the c the CFL is an interesting game.
And here's Michael Carter, the second who, like we.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Said earlier, that's culture right there.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
He works out with Stiggers. He said he'd like that.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Let's work and so the you know, the one thing
that I think is interesting in all this, there's been
so many trades up back. Joe Douglas has just been
a madman on the phone. The Jets have one, have you?

Speaker 3 (23:47):
So have you?

Speaker 4 (23:48):
As far as writing those trade articles on New York
test numbers are like.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Not, I don't even know which numbers are. What I
know that the Jets moves back one in round one, Oh,
here we go.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
And then in round three they.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Go from seventy two to sixty five courtesy of the
one hundred and fifty seventh pick.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Throw that in there.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Now we get to round four, the Jets had pick
one to eleven. They said, okay, let's go back one
twenty six and one ninety.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
That's what we'll get.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
The Jets say, okay, pick number one twenty six that's
going to next year.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
The Detroit Lions can have that pick.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
The Jets can have a twenty twenty five third round pick,
which is a great move.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Can we freeze this right here?

Speaker 4 (24:25):
I wish we could circle one twenty six with the telestration.
What you're saying here is a huge point. Now Joe
Douglas has two third round picks in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
I love that move.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
And somebody asked me on Twitter in fact, that hey,
I think the Jets third round pick next year is
going to Philadelphia for Harsan Reddick. Where actually that is
a third round pick in twenty twenty six that is
going to.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Philadelphia can become a two.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
So with that being said, right now twenty twenty five,
looking ahead, the Jets, I believe they have two third
round picks and two six round picks.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Okay, so well, then in round five, the Jets go up.
They had one eighty five and one ninety, They go up,
they go to one seventy one, they get their guy.
The Jets still have two fifty seven which is the
final pick in the draft. Now, the one thing that
we haven't mentioned that is related to trading on Draft Day,
but not necessarily college prospects. It was reported by Adam

(25:25):
Schefter that the Jets have sent John Franklin Myers to
the Denver Broncos, which means that's two trades within a
week that Joe Douglas and George Payton have come to
agreement with the second well, the first one being Zach Wilson,
the second one being John Franklin Myers, and the Jets
have reportedly agreed to a trade that they will get
a twenty twenty six six round picks. So similar to

(25:48):
what you're saying Jets traded away at twenty twenty six
third round pick for Hassan Reddick, the Jets receive a
twenty twenty six six round pick.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Okay, So we got to get into a number of
things here. First off, hull of a job by the
Joe Douglason company getting John Franklin Myers awful waivers.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
In twenty nineteen.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
He became a very valuable valuable performer for this team
in terms of what he did on the edge and
also his versatility because he could come dip down inside
and make life awfully difficult for guards throughout the National
Football League. Last season, Franklin Myers fifty seven, fifty five

(26:27):
percent snap share, three and a half sacks, thirty three tackles.
That followed a twenty twenty two season when he had
five sacks and thirty eight tackles. But what happened here,
I believe, and we'll hear Joe Douglas and Robert Sala talk.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
About this momentarily coming up. You can check that.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Out live if you're watching US live, if you're watching
US on the archive, you can watch the archive as well.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
The Jets traded for Hassan Reddick.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Reddick is a guy seventy four percent snap share in Philadelphia,
not just last year, but the last two years. I'm
not saying he's gonna get seventy four percent of the
snaps here, but he's gonna get a lot of snaps.
And here's a guy who's so productive fifteen and a
half sacks the last four season. I think the Jets
really valued what Jfon brought to the table. But the

(27:16):
bottom line is two money comes into this matter. Where
you're gonna save money against the cap I believe people
are talking about a reported seven million I think it's.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
The Jets still half seven to pay. They receive a
nine million dollar cap free.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Okay you're saying, okay, okay.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
So it's a changing landscape at the defensive end position, though,
we can carry this further. We saw Jermaine Johnson take
that monster leap last season.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Will McDonald was a first round pick last year, and
when you're looking at.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
McDonald in fifteen games last year, three sacks, nineteen percent snapshare.
Bryce hoff Now is a Philadelphia Eagle as well. Michael Clemens, Yeah,
still on this roster. So again, kind of like we
talked a lot about the defensive tackle changing this position
as far as who's next to Quinn Williams and the

(28:10):
depth pieces other than Solomon Thomas. Defensive end is gonna
look a lot different here next season.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
A lot of moving pieces, I mean today alone, just
from the trades, and then you start to factor in
what actually this team starts to look like. We'll break
it all down over the next couple weeks, but let's
take a look at who the Jets have drafted to
this point and what remains with the number eleven overall pick,
they drafted Olu Fashionu in round three. They didn't have
a second round pick because of the Aaron Rodgers trade.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
They draft Malachai Corley.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Then today four players that they've drafted running back Braylan Allen,
quarterback Jordan Travis, running back Isaiah Davis, and cornerback Quantest Siggers.
They have the last pick of the twenty twenty four
NFL Draft, and, like Eya said, make sure to see
what Robert Sala and Joe Douglas say after the draft
on New York Jets dot Com. Yah
