And I know who else is abit excited about the Nuggets in game six

(00:03):
tonight because she is rolling in herewearing Denver Nuggets gar the one and only
Susie Wards and joining us high susHi, it's my only Nuggets shirt that
I have, so yeah, it'sa good one. Thank you. No,
I like it. It's good tosee it, Susan. Hey,
good to see you guys too. Thanks for having me in. Yeah.
Yeah, sorry, I just kindof like rolled in because I got Yeah,
you drove all this way and leftyour real estate business for one segment,

(00:26):
one segment. Yeah, but actuallyI'm texting somebody lockbox code right now,
so yeah, we're good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think
I probably did that one time withyou. Well, oh yeah you did.
I think you probably did. Imean, yeah, I think I
did. Yeah, how are youguys? Thank you for having me.
This is fun. Yeah, we'vebeen having a little bit of fun with
the text line because we're talking abouthow the Broncos only have two primetime games,

(00:50):
and Dave said he's kind of manlike, whatever, not a big
deal. Actually you do you did, Larry David? Go ahead? Not
sure, Larry David did me?I mean I would like to think that
I was doing this even before youknow, curb your enthusiasm was part of
my sort of weekly look. Ohyeah, oh dad, I was doing

(01:11):
that with Andy back in the SportsZoo. It was on the air.
So what what was your first year? Okay, you know what I thought
about this today? I thought aboutthis is funny. Ryan. Excuse me,
but I've been work married to Davealmost as long as my husband Mike.
Mike and I got married in Mayof ninety six. We just had
twenty eight years and you started withGraduation's me January February of ninety eight,

(01:34):
right after Super Bowl thirty one.So that's about the time in that enble
known as the Sports Zuo. Yeah, that we started twenty six years.
You stay yeah all the time, that's right. Yeah. So we had
a long distance for a little whilewhen I was at nine News, but
then we just came back the same. It's hard. It's hard to put

(01:56):
that in a text, and it'slike, ehh, we have so you
can just send Larry David going itis better than me. That's right,
that's right. I've never been ano, you're not no, there's nothing
about you, but I've been whatI'm just saying, Jewish wife is Jewish

(02:23):
in the car right now? Iwas told that here. What does that
work? That that came from me? Well, no, it just means
you're I think from a in inHebrew that means you're a stand up person.
I think it means, well thisyou want to quote, I don't

(02:44):
know, do I is a Yiddishword. A Yiddish word means craziness,
foolishness, or nonsense. Oh thatdoesn't mean stand up guy? What what's
then? What? Because it wasSusan wicked Susan by the way, if
you're out there, Susan used tobe in the news department pre k away
and she paid me your very nestcompliment, of which I did not know
what she was saying because I don'tI don't speak well. Sugar was one

(03:05):
of them, but it was.It was because if she said that,
maybe it wasn't that was another Jewishfriend. It was what what's there's a
term and I'll know it as soonas you say it. Minch. Yes,
Mitch, so does Minch stand upperson, person of integrity and honored.

(03:25):
If you're out there, which youconfirm exactly which one of those terms
you used on me, I'm prettysure was minch. The person didn't know
liter moral dignity. I didn't knowwhat that was. What is right?
In response? There we go?Has bk ever said that to You said
a lot of things to me,A lot of things, and most of

(03:46):
most of them I cannot really repeaton the air, including the things you
say back to him. Well, you know, we do we do have
sort of a we do have sortof that kind of a relationship. I
didn't even know what michgan. Youcan probably say that, right. I
always want to be careful we're speakingkind of another language, you know,
like because you just like you haven'tbeen on the show long enough, but

(04:08):
you really do not have to becareful too much now because you know those
words could mean. So you know, it's I just don't know what it
means. You know, I'm makingyou sweat Ryan by saying things. Jewish
wife, I knew what was sugarmeans? Did you know? Did you
know calls me a mention all thetime, So I knew what. I
knew what that Yeah, So Iknew that's very nice. That's that's nice.
I knew it's very nice. Awesome. Literally all I know. She's

(04:30):
fantastic. I was very sweet,No, she is. I had a
few glasses of wine with her onceand we had a great time. Wow.
Wow, really shocker. Right,Okay, it wasn't just the wine
shocker. Not the shocker. Youguys having a great time the shocker,
like you had a couple of glassesof wine one time. Oh yeah,
well one time. Yeah, that'swhat I mean. That's the shocker.
I've been looking at all my placesI can go have my red wine on

(04:54):
our on our road trips. Here, Dave, this is what I get
to experience almost said, deal with, But this is what I get to
experience with. Soon. I getto run new places and figure out where
we're going to go have and Isay, I get to be there.
We're going to New York and Ihave Seattle. Yeah, Seattle, we've
been to. In fact, Seattle. We will return to the spot where

(05:14):
I have the great picture of Rickcracking your back, which I really would
love to post on social media, but both of you would probably kill me
because it looks like there's something elsehappening. Well, just like you know,
likes to be out there in socialmedia, Rick, Rick likes it
and I loathe it. Yes,so well, I'll be the winner in
this project picture. I'll show itto you. Ryan. It's pretty awesome.
Yeah, I promise, I'll justkeep it on my thought. Of

(05:36):
course, we're literally on a pierand Rick is cracking Dave's back and it's
like these two massive men. AJ. And I are crying. We're
laughing so hard, and it wasto see. Yeah, we always go
to the same great restaurant there inSeattle, and hopefully we'll have a better
experience than the last time we werein Seattle. I'm with you on that.
Come with you on that you weregoing to ask her about the whether

(05:57):
she likes the love. It's goingto know what happens, Tottle it does.
Yeh. So i haven't been toTampa Bay before, so I'm excited
to go to Raymond James Stadium. That would be great. Watch out for
the cannons, That's all I'm goingto say. Oh on the field,
I'm just telling you right now, they do aware kind of well. The

(06:17):
issue has little pop cannons. Theseare like big cannons. It's a big
cannon issue, Ryan. These arebig cannons, like on a bull.
These are big cannons at Raymond Jamescanon A cannon got to issue, people,
Seriously, the most important thing onthis schedule was that the Broncos played

(06:39):
at home the weekend of the fourteenthand fifteenth, Because what's that game is?
That's the issue? What's that gamefor? Crying out me if I
overlooked that game? Sorry? Sorry, Wow, now you have Susan Winken.
Susan must have been listening to theshow. Yeah, these are my
favorite people. Oh my god,Okay, I have to tell you,

(07:01):
no, I'm not listening. Iwish I were from southwestern Colorado and my
dear dear friend Karen Trinidad. Wewait, we all loved you guys,
but honestly, I happened to beout and about and I'm enjoying the outside.
And she goes, oh my gosh, they're talking about you better before

(07:23):
they say more things. We wesomehow got on that boy, Susie Wharton,
I love you. Good to seeit. We got on. I'm
not even sure how we got onHebrew. Yeah, so good friend Susan
Wickan uh here one time used aterm on me that I did not know

(07:46):
what it meant, and I first, I first thought it was sugar enough,
so I asked Ryan what the definitionuewas and then I said quickly like,
no, that wasn't it. Sodo you do you remember that?
Yes? I think I called youa dear mench, a real bench,
a minch. You are a truemench. You you really you're You're a

(08:07):
man of your word. And itwas about something that I think there was
a oh, I'm sure back wayback when there was some sort of ichy
something was going on, and andyou've handled it extremely well. And I
said, and I called you atrue mench. Yes, and I believe
you. And you know what thatmeant a lot, because I did not
know what that meant. And afterI learned what that meant, that,

(08:28):
uh, I took that as realcompliment. So thank you. So before
we let you go, what areyou doing in southwest vironment What is that?
Like? Well, that's that prettygood. You've got to come and
visit me in this entirement southwestern Colorado. This is where I spend a lot
of my time and it's, uh, it's one of my favorite spots.

(08:52):
It is truly God's country. Imean, the mountains are big and the
scenery is open and the people arelovely and it's awesome. It is really,
it's a great place. Good foryou. We're all jealous. Oh
my gosh. Well, I meanI don't get to hear you off and
know I'm what you No, I'mjust like you're randomly super randomly. Yeah,

(09:13):
so you called in at the rightday, no, right time and
a true man chat Okay, Ohis that a word that well, no,
not really manchett. Yeah, youknow, the feminine version. Why
not. I appreciate that. Thankyou, Susan. Susan is so great
to hear from you. Thanks somuch for calling in. Oh you guys,

(09:35):
take care by. I appreciate it. We'll come back. Somebody's always
listening to Warden and Studio from theKAI Traffic Center. Here's Darren Copeland.
Okay, Susie Warson in studio withus. Susie, we kind of had
a lot of fun in that firstsegment, but you didn't get chance to
really get your thoughts on the schedule. Spend some more time of that in
the next segment as well. Okay, first, blush, what are your
thoughts. We're on the road alot that first month. That is,

(09:58):
out of the first four Yeah, that was a little surprising. I started
seeing some of the leaks yesterday, and again my biggest concern was being home
for the Showdown and being able togo to that. So I'm like,
okay, I'm cool with Pittsburgh, and I'm like, this can't be right.
There can't be three of the firstfour on the road, but sure,
sure as heck we are. Andtwo East Coast games too, which
is kind of interesting doing Tampa andNew Jersey New York. So I heard

(10:22):
somebody, you know, I meanthere, I don't think there's any way,
there's no way we'd stay out there. Well, somebody brought that up
on was that Ben Ben? Yeah, brought up that he wouldn't be surprised
if if after the Tampa game theystay and I don't know if they would
practice well, because I will beflying back to coach a team. You

(10:46):
guys might be staying. Yeah, that is very Yeah, I wonder would
make I mean to me, Idon't know, I think you fly back,
you get these guys home, youpractice in your own facility, and
then Saturday turn around I back outto New York. Yeah, they're early
enough games that if they were nightgames, maybe you know, or if
it was like a night game,or if it was Monday night and then

(11:07):
the next one was Sunday or somethinglike that. But yeah, Ericzalala,
who's by the way, going tobe filling in on Broncos Country tonight.
He put out this stat earlier. It's been sixty two years. Sixty two
years since the Broncos played three oftheir first four games on the road.
Yeah, I saw him tweet that. I'm like, dang, good stat.
Yeah, since nineteen sixty two.For what it's worse, they started
three and one that year. Ohand they were listen, I don't remember

(11:31):
because I was seven, but barely. Yeah. They weren't any good,
were they. They didn't have theywere under five hundred. I mean,
the first winning season the Broncos everhad was in the seventies, so they
had to be on their five hundred. So yeah, sort of a fascinating
stat there. Let's we'll come back. We'll keep chopping this up because I

(11:52):
definitely want to. There's some reallytough spots in this schedule, but there's
also some opportunities just to get somewins. So Susie Warson and Studio will
come back and break down the schedule. Next, talk about very much a
creative group because Rick is also thecorona and the live guy, so full
credit for that. Yes he does. Rick invented the line in the Corona
that I was not aware of.Okay, good to me. Look at

(12:13):
social media like, I don't knowtomorrow and he's either on a motorcycle or
doing a corona with a lime Okay, yeah, there'll be some shock,
some throttle therapy real indeed. Indeed, all right, well, Susie Origin
and Studios, Rick is going tojoin us at the top of the arm
and look forward to that. Ohis he coming in? He is coming
in? Oh wow, you're justshuffling us all through. This is great

(12:33):
fun, all right. So wetalked about the beginning of the schedule and
the really difficult road that it looksfor them. Right, they got three
road games in the first four weeks, come home for a couple of division
games, the Raiders and the Chargers, and then they got the first primetime
game at New Orleans. So asyou kind of look at the first half
of the schedule, okay, andthey like to do these things in quarters,

(12:54):
what are your first thoughts if youlook at the first half I like,
I really like how the are spacedout. I didn't like last year
that we played the Chiefs, youknow those like twice in three weeks.
I think it was that we did. Yeah, so I mean, actually
maybe it was good because then weknew them and and you know, got
some things done that way. ButI like the spacing of the divisional games,
and you know, I look atthings sometimes where I'm like, Okay,

(13:16):
what's the weather going to be?Like when we get to the road,
so you're the only one that's actuallyworking out. We work in an
open booth, but Susie actually andstuff. Yeah, we we had blanket
we share. He brings blanks tothem all nights and cuddled up and it's

(13:37):
all cute. And I got totry and get like close to one of
those big heaters and try not tosend my gloves because they're so freaking hot.
So again, you know that thefirst Ryan's like stay on top of
it was okay, I like it. And again the weather's but we had
Michael Gletchie on he said that's oneof the first things he looks at.
He looks at the schedule for thedeal and what the weather is going to

(14:00):
be Glenchy told one of the beststories about too when he was in college.
Remember that I was ran during thepregame last year. How some guy
I can't remember where they were whenhe was in college and he put his
helmet down close to the heater toget it. You know, now they
have the nice heaters that are onthe benches, but you got it warm,
put it back on, and thecheek pad was so hot it melted
to his face. His teammate Mike, but his teammate, yeah, he's

(14:22):
like, was melted to his faceand they had to like try and pry
it off of there. Because Iasked all these guys, I'm like,
hey, you get in good coldweather stories. She's like, oh yeah,
I got one from college. AndI'm like, d how do you
get a melted cheek pad off yourcheek? Plastic surgery? Yeah, no,
I don't know that's had. Butso that's why Mike has like major
things because he had that experience. You know, that's traumatizing if you see

(14:45):
a guy with a cheek pad.I think I just accepted as part of
my life. Now that's there.I just went around with it like hey,
my eyes are here. Stop theface at my cheek pad. Anyways,
I do like the way in asecond. So you're taking the first
four tough, but then the secondfour, right, I mean the Raiders
and Chargers at home. Yeah, like you got it, you gotta have
you got at New Orleans as primetime. They got a mini buy before

(15:09):
week eight with Carolina. So ifyou think about the first foreign state,
boy, if you can get youknow, one or two out of that
first four, but then you couldreally really realistically take three of those four
in that next quarter. Yeah, you're looking at what the are you in
quarters or haves? Now I'm gettingcommuned. I wanted I wanted to live
at the big picture, but thenI segmented it. I'm just trying to,
you know, bounce around a littlebit, but the segmented it.

(15:31):
And so then you say for thefirst half, So the first half and
it's just thing. I know.Yeah, I'm just sort of laying out
letting you ring. Three math mods. That's how it's you know, speech
communications, three math mods done?No math? Wow? Okay, yeah,
are you still in real estate?I can actually do the real estate
math very well. Other math horrible, all right, but real estate math

(15:54):
I got I can do that, but the first half you have a chance
to go five hundred. That's whatsay, like maybe even better stop yeah,
uh, you know. Baltimore andKansas City on the road in November.
I look at those, and Ilook at the weather on those,
because that can be cold and snowy. Baltimore Kansas City on the road in
November. I look at those andI say, very good teams, very

(16:18):
good teams, very good teams bothof a games two not ideal, yes,
not great and good teams, yesabsolutely. I think you need to
pose the question to Susie that youposed to me. Okay, about the
primetime games? All right? Iread a whole question at Our Edwards Radio
on Twitter where Dave says it's oneof the happiest places on earth is Twitter?

(16:40):
Oh yeah, it's your favorite spotas a Broncos fan. How do
you feel about the team only havingtwo primetime games? Are you disappointed?
Are you relieved? Slash happy orno reaction? As disappointed? B's relieved,
slash happy or c is no reaction. I think I'm probably be just
because what is that the right answer? Am I getting exposed? We've been

(17:08):
in too many of these games, especially that first year with RUSS where we're
like national TV, National TV,and we look terrible. So why don't
we kind of just go under theradar for a little while, earn the
right to have some of those games, and then get back on national TV.
We do not agree. Yes,Susie, if you'd have been in
charge of World War two, we'dhave been speaking German. Oh oh so

(17:33):
you can't. You can't bring warinto this? Why? Why? Why?
Okay, okay, here here's mything. What is your reaction was?
I'll ask, yeah, because it'slike you play who you play?
If you run from primetime games becauseyou're scared sc a r T. You're
scared of getting exposed. It doesn'tlook else. How else would you quantify

(17:57):
you worrying about not being exposed?I'm using your language. Is that not
scared? No, that's not scared, it's being smart. We're like,
I mean, go go under theradar. Right now? You know who
we are. Here's what you're nailinghim. How can I stumble through another

(18:18):
year of this? Let me askboth of you individually, please, okay,
that serious question? What is Susie? I'll start with you, what
is your definition of panty? Waste, pantywaiste, panty waist. No,
I'm just asking p A N Ty panty oh, panty waste, panty

(18:38):
waste can elastic around panties. Okay, okay, sure, Ryan, what's
your definition of panty waste? Butshe nailed it's depending on where we are.
Listen, man, I got nothingfor you. I have nothing.
I have nothing. You'd rather notbe out there on a Christmas Day getting

(19:00):
your butt wiped all over the place. Why am I to assume I know
your answer will be, well,Dave, you call the games for thirty
five years, Why am I toassume that if you play on Christmas Day
you gotta get your butt wiped?No, I just I'm saying I don't
right now without knowing who we are. If we knew that, like,
all right, we got this greatteam with this great quarterback. We have
all these great players, Like we'rethe team We're gonna kick ass. You

(19:22):
want the team week after a week. You want to have the like when
Peyton Manny was here, So youdon't ever So okay, well we just
started totally different, totally different. You and I are on the same page
because I said you might want torethink this really when you leave here,
because what you need to think aboutdriving to your next I don't know home
sale is I just aligned myself withRyan Edwards nor so the competitive spirit and

(19:47):
fire. We're not competitive, Wedon't. It does here. It does
because you want to just go onthere. And here's what it means.
You run from challenges, which I'venever known you to be there, don't
want any challenge, and I don'tthink this playing. Why don't you want
to play on Christmas? Because wedon't know what we are, Dave,
we have no idea what this teamlooks like. So why don't you accept

(20:08):
the challenge of playing let's say nono Kansas City in Kansas City on Christmas
and saying you know what, we'rehere for it? Okay, Yes,
I mean seriously, I'm worried aboutI told him he needed to seek a
mental health specialist. You know,I've known you for years. This is
the first time I've ever ever everheard this from you. You don't think

(20:30):
you don't you don't believe that Mondaynight, Yes, I'd rather go out
and say, okay, you knowwhat we're here to find out. Now
you might lose, and they've lostquite a bit recently. What would I
say the next week, I wantanother shot, let's go, I want
another shot. No you can't,Texter says Susie is right, it's just

(20:52):
smart. I appreciate you text. That's it. And in the end and
he met you to Ryan since weagree, that's exactly anti waste me to
you. Well, I can't evensay it. I can't even say it
on the air because it would bemisinterpreted by some I just saying earn your
stripes and when we're your stripes bysaying, hey, you know what,

(21:15):
we believe we can beat you thisyear and we're here for it. We're
going to show up and I knowwhat's happened in the past that was in
the past. We're ready for thisyear. I don't care where we play,
who we play. We're about that. We're not going to run from.
I just think that is the lookat our business. And I know
we're not a football team, butour business radio. You get new people

(21:36):
in here, you don't really knowwhat they have. You put a little
team together, and where do youput them overnight? Because you want to
see what they can do. We'retalking about an equal playing field. We're
talking about the NFL, the draft, everybody, every team gets a chance
to draft. I get it,every radio thing you can gets a chance
to hire people. That's true. You know that's not true. You know
that not every team gets to dowhatever they want to do with their team
either, I'm you talking about.Because there's there's different money, there's different

(22:00):
salary caps, there's things like that. That's the same for each team.
I understand. It's how you useit that's different. So is the budget
not the same for a radio stationand still going to differently? Absolutely not.
You know that. You know thatyou're saying the budget is the same
for every radio I'm saying it's not. And that's why the salary caps different.
We're strapped right now because the salarycap the same. God, you're

(22:22):
not. You're not listening to whatI'm saying. I'm just I am.
I understand the salary cap is thesame. It's how you are strapped by
it. And some teams have somebigger straps like we do right now.
We can't do the games you wantto do. Okay, that's fine.
Russ Russell Wilson's contract dead money,Okay. I agree with that. They're
strapped now, So you don't wantto play, So would you rather play

(22:42):
if you had a chance to playlike Carolina, New England and Atlanta like
three times each next year as opposedto playing Kansas City and some of the
great teams. You're smiling because youtake Carolina. No, I'm not saying
that you don't play some of thoseteams. I'm saying you don't play them
in prime time. You still playthose teams because right now we don't know
what we are. If you geta really guilt okay, I'm gonna go

(23:03):
back to you're not listening to You'renot well. You thought you were a
better coach team, and you thought, okay, so last year was okay
to go play because you knew whatyou ran from prime time games last year
too. I wasn't interested in primetimegames last year Russell Wilson and Sean Payton
together, but I thought they wouldbe better than what they were than Thaniel

(23:25):
Hackett. So I was like, okay, let's just see what it looks
like. But this year they werenot quarterback position. The quarterback position is
a complete unknown, yes, andwhat Sean Payton looks like with that is
a bit of a non nun too. We're hoping, and I mean this
sincerely, we're hoping that this isa five hundred or slightly better time.
I want them to be I'm notsaying you don't want them to be good,

(23:45):
but to say that I'd run fromprimetime opportunities to play the best teams
in the league makes the row senseto me. It like like it's like
a cookie jar when you know thelittle the little heavy set kid goes over
takes the cookie jar. Tak someof those kids, because I was one
of them, because you take youtake the top of the panda bear that
you take the top of the cookiejar offs to get you some oreos.

(24:07):
Right, But that's I'm the cookiejar because the top of my head making
radio analogy made way more sense thanyour cookie jar thing. Just no,
yes, no, It's like listeningto you two talk about running from competition.
It makes the top of my headwant to blow off the cookie jar.
I got you, okay with theokay, it's mostly upset that you

(24:29):
agreed with me. That's really I'mjust in shock. I would have lost
a lot of money on you beinga lot tougher than that. I am
tough and I've always considered you toughcompetitive. No, you're saying we're weak.
I'm saying you run from competition. That is not true. You know,
I don't think accepted it. Ifthey had five prime time gage you

(24:52):
to accept it, I just wouldbe running from competition about those So now
now we've gone from Now we've gonefrom your You can't turn it down.
You can't be like you know.Okay, now right in the league office,
I don't want this primetime game thatdoesn't exist. Was great, let's
do two? That's great? Issomething one two years ago? And it

(25:12):
was ridiculous? Reasonable. I askedboth of you, and both of you
said no, So don't change thenarrative. I said, would you go
would you want to go play KansasCity on a prime time like a Monday
night at Arrowhead and say I'm aboutit. Both of you said no.
Okay, that's the end of thestory. But we just can't find there
is no common ground between us onthis topic. Zero. All right,

(25:37):
enough enough, you want to goback to the schedule, you want to
keep the box on this? Whatdo you guys? Just remember, are
we late on a break or something. We've got plenty of time to discuss
this again. I'm looking at thedefinition. I'm looking at the definition here
of penny waste. Yeah, I'mgoing to see what that is, Panny
go ahead? Sorry sorry? Lateby week? Is that uh? Late?

(26:00):
The positive? I really like thema little more right in the middle
all about that, just because Ifeel like by the time I know you're
talking, we're three quarters the waythrough, because there's only four games left
after the bye week, so it'sa little late for guys that need that
time for injuries. Now, wedo have the extra long little you know,
week after that Thursday night game afterwe're in New Orleans, so that's

(26:22):
helpful like to have that. Plusit's a home game with Carolina after that,
so if it was an away game, you feel like that gets shortened
up a little bit. But Idon't like that late of a bye week,
and I think that's it's probably thelatest you can have one, maybe
right or it is it's the lastone. The one thing I'll say about
that that crap soup. For firstof all, the game before that you're
playing on Monday night, So it'snice in the respect you're not gonna have

(26:44):
a short week to turn around andplay a try and you have a home
game afterwards. That's right, Soyou have a home against Cleveland, and
then you're gonna have a home againstIndianapolis, who, by the way,
is also coming off there by Indianapolisis coming off there Oh. Interesting,
Okay, that's the interesting time. You rarely see that happen, right,
So, one thing I do likeabout that is is if you do have
some injuries at that point, there'sgonna be a real good opportunity to rest.

(27:04):
You're not coming off a short week. If you're gonna play a Monday
night primetime game, you're not sortof dinged for it. On the other
side, the other the other thingI will say about it is if there
is a version of this where theBroncos are finding some momentum, especially with
Bonnix. Right, we talked aboutthose two home games against division rivals day
footy, and after they get alittle momentum with bon Nicks, are you

(27:26):
guys okay if they play in aMonday night game, if they get they
want to flex schedule gets flexed in, are you guys okay? Then the
absolutely okay, that was close sayingI was gonna say freely you almost no,
no, she's a veteran of radio. I say it a lot when
I'm not whing the microphones not off, I'm never But if you're rolling at

(27:48):
that point, you're happy about itlate by because your your team is clicking,
right, you don't want you don'twant to buy weeks us in yes,
and then lakes us in. Hey, let's let's let's make the Raiders
upon a prime time. Let's makethe Kansas City Chiefs a prime time because
that's what Bonix hit Sean Payton andhe's coaching out of his mind. So
if that le Broncs are playing well, you're okay with the bye week being
week fourteen? Is there anything I'mgoing to say that you're an agree with?

(28:14):
No? No, no, No, I mean I I think,
I think, I think it's late. Yeah. My preference would be to
have it earlier because you're gonna getguys probably even though they were unbelievably healthy
last year. Yeah, you're gonnaget guys banged up the middle of the
season. I mean that's already weekfourteen. Yeah, so that's tough.
Yeah, I mean, as theysay, it is what it is.

(28:36):
But my preference would have been, like about the middle of the season,
maybe even earlier than later. Ifyou had to choose between the two.
We didn't know this going into it. Would you have the week five,
which I think is the earliest,or the week fourteen? Oh too soon.
I don't like the way I wouldsay week five, as if Bonnicks

(28:56):
is not the starter in week ones, two, three, and four,
and then they want to make amove, and then that that's normally when
you make a quarterback change. Ifit's early in the season and you,
for whatever reason, you don't likeyour starting quarterback, that would be an
opportune time. You're probably I mean, it's not going to be week fourteen.
I wouldn't think so. I don'tknow. Happened last year practically about

(29:18):
that time. Yeah. Right. It's a really interesting point because if they
would have had an early buye rightweek five or six or something like that,
you could have looked at it.If you Sean Payton saying, hey,
by this point, hopefully he's readyto go for some reason. Here
was the bye week last year.It was right in the middle. So
if we're to believe Sean Payton, which I do, they were already contemplating

(29:40):
making the move on Russ before theBuffalo game. What what week was The
Buffalo game was before week ten,was it not? It was right after
the bye so so it was weekeleven? Yeah, I think it was
eleven. Okay, So he wascontemplating making the move during the bye week,
right, Well, I mean theyplayed they played Kansas City and one
and one at home too, athome. Wish that would have been a

(30:02):
prime prime time game. But sothat was the game before the buye yes,
okay. And then then they approachedRuster in the bye about a restructure
and that's where he got the feelingfrom the team that they would consider benching
him. And nobody really got thatstory. That story didn't get out until

(30:22):
much much later, right, Yeah, when he wanted to put when Russ's
people wanted to make sure it wasout there once it did get benched.
Yeah, they actually approached me muchearlier about the same thing. Yeah.
Can you imagine, I mean, you imagine the reaction for Broncos fans.
You finally snapped that streak against kantState Chiefs and oh, by the way,
we're gonna bench Russell Wilson. Buthere's the deal. And I've said
this before, and Alan and Ihave argued about this. I mean,

(30:47):
you go back and look at Russell'snumbers in that game. Russell was not
great. I mean the Chiefs, the Broncos defense, if you look at
it from Denver's perspective, created fiveturnovers. Hey, Russ to Wilson,
I think in the game, Idon't have it in front of me.
I think it completed ten passes.Yeah, and he had three touchdowns,
which Al always points out ten passes, how many we throw. We didn't

(31:08):
throw that many, fourteen passes somethinglike that. No, no, no,
it was it was such a lovenumber. Hold on a look at
all. It was not fourteen. He had ten completions. He didn't have
to do very much. He's here, Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Russell Wilson. You're
looking at Okay, hadn't thought aboutthat. Yeah. Uh. He completed

(31:30):
twelve passes nineteen attempts twelve nineteen yep, okay, for one hundred and fourteen
yards. Okay, you're making forme. You know that was only that
was one of my favorite arguments. You now got into because he's like three
touchdowns, he was perfect in thered zone. You're like twelve twelve completions,
the fact that he that he theyonly threw it nineteen times, yes,

(31:52):
for one hundred and fourteen yards.I mean the defense was great and
the Kansas City offense turned the ballover a whole bunch. So I mean,
however you win, however you cancome up to win, I'm all
about that. But I can't waitfor week two. I can't wait for
week two. Yeah, she wasgonna be awesome. Yes, great to
be here. Guys. Thanks forhaving me in. Yeah, yeah,

(32:14):
thank you for coming in and arguingmy point and agreeing with me. We
didn't discuss that ahead of time. That was just that was natural. I
have no idea. Listen, justdriving to the open house, just reconsider
you're just reconsider your you know,And I'm not saying something on the text
line said, you know, howare you going to know who you are?
Unless you play good teams in frontof national audiences. You can still
find out who you are by notplaying a nationally televised game. You're still

(32:37):
playing good teams. We've got goodteams we're going to face in here.
You can still find out who weare. Perfectly said, could not be
a better way to end this segment. We come back Rick close
