The next in our Greatest Hits collection is an encore of the Healthcare Rap that originally aired in April 2022. Our guest was Alan Shoebridge, Chief Communication Officer for Providence Oregon and well-known advocate for healthcare marketers and communicators. Alan and Jared had a playful back-and-forth conversation about the who, when, and how of innovation. We wanted to demonstrate how to find common ground while representing different views.

And it turns out that we believe a lot of the same things, such as:

  • Valuing innovation doesn’t devalue operations.
  • Retail brands can be good for consumers’ healthcare choices, but it won’t be easy for them to succeed.
  • Innovation requires dedicated resources. You can’t just assign it to someone on top of everyone else that they’re doing.

This episode is on our greatest hits playlist because it represented the types of conversations that happen in a lot of organizations, and we wanted to model a path forward.
