Who is Ray Archuleta

Ray Archuleta's professional journey began under the aegis of the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), formerly known as the Soil Conservation Service—a response to the alarming soil erosion crisis of the 1930s. Starting in 1987, Ray embarked on a career that would not only define his professional life but also transform his personal worldview. As a young recruit, he entered the agency at a humble level, but with dedication and a burgeoning passion for soil health, he steadily climbed through the ranks. Over the years, Ray developed a deep connection to the very earth he pledged to protect and nurture. It wasn't just a job; it was a vocation that changed him. This connection to the soil was something he hadn't anticipated when he first pursued his education in soil science, but it ultimately became the cornerstone of a life's work dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of one of our planet's most vital resources.
