(01:05):
Hey moms, welcome to the 13th episode of the Front Parking Spot Podcast.
I am so excited. Today, I get my good friend over 20 years, Joy Chambly with Moms with Swords.
The fun part about Joy and I, you're gonna meet her in a minute,
is we were moms when our kids were little.
And now we're giving messages to you moms, but we were there together when our babies were small.

(01:30):
Joy is a head of Moms with Swords and they have over 135 members.
She has been doing these Bible studies with these moms and they are passionate
for the Lord. She's teaching moms to use their sword to fight for their families.
I love the title, Moms with Swords. And Joy was a worship leader when I first

(01:51):
met her And boy, can this girl sing.
Well, Joy, welcome to From the Front Parking Spot. I'm so glad you're here.
I know. I'm so glad to be here. I'm so proud of you, what you're doing and spurring
on moms. So I'm happy to be here, friend.
Yes, this is going to be great. I know you had a Bible study time today with
the moms at the Sanctuary Church here in Georgia.

(02:13):
What was your message today? Because I remember when I was a guest speaker with
my books at your, I was about a year ago, and I just loved your message.
And I just wanted to share what you shared with moms today.
Have you shared what you shared with moms today for your session?
Yeah, it was powerful today. Our whole, we kind of go, we follow the school calendar.
So we do usually eight weeks in the spring and eight weeks in the fall.

(02:36):
So we actually are going to be done and wrapping up this session,
those Thursday after spring break.
And so these eight weeks, we have been focused on the word the Lord gave me
for this session was through.
And so we've literally been looking week by week on how we pray through,
how we're passing Passing through how God is through all, how we fight through, through His name.

(03:04):
Today's was powerful. We were talking about specifically how we,
well, now I can't even remember what we did today.
Oh my gosh. I mean, I preached a whole sermon today, so it's kind of through.
Oh, right. And it's power-packed. It's so power-packed.
I just love hearing everything you have to say all the time.

(03:25):
And I remember just sitting there seeing the moms and they're just waiting for
every word because I think moms, we need this.
In today's day, we need this word and we need this intentional discussion of
how God can work through our life. So, so true. Yeah.
Yes. And yes, and that was today we talked about how God comes through,

(03:46):
how He always comes through.
And so we really sat in the book of Habakkuk and just, I talked to some moms, well, to our moms.
We definitely, we meet there and like you had said, we have like 130 moms.
I have new moms come, you know, and of course they're moms. So not every week you get moms there.

(04:06):
Stuff comes up today. day. We had some Easter egg hunts, but we also have a
live stream and a podcast.
So we have so many people watching and listening from all over literally the States.
And so it was just a powerful morning of how the book of Habakkuk and how God
is going to come through for us.
We don't know the ways He will come through, but I have been challenging the

(04:29):
moms over these weeks just to ask audaciously and to believe God tenaciously
and that He will come through for us.
And so So just giving us permission through looking through the lens of scripture
of there's permission to ask God for things that we want.
We focused on Psalm 40 verse 11 today, or no, 40 verse 1, when David was just

(04:52):
saying, I waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined his ear to hear me.
And so that was what we were just really just camping out in today was just
this whole idea that God hears us.
And so our confidence is not necessarily in the outcome or in the action that God takes,

(05:14):
but in the fact that we can be confident God hears and that builds our faith
to ask him and to believe for what we're asking for as we surrender our heart
in that posture, much like Jesus did in the garden, right?
I'm always shocked at how many people don't recognize and remember remember
the picture of the garden, which we're here in the, you know,

(05:37):
the week of Holy Week and we're coming up to Good Friday.
And Jesus himself, it actually was, you know, coming up tomorrow,
you know, figuratively, you know, Jesus in the garden does not,
the first thing Jesus says when he, you know, falls to the ground,
blood coming from, you know, he's sweating drops of blood.
He says father if there's

(05:59):
any way take this cup from me so jesus is showing us and modeling for us a asking
like ask god for what you want god i want this prodigal to come home god i want
you to work this out for my kid god i want this school to come through for my kid right and.
Self-asked first, and then he said the posture, and truly the posture of his

(06:23):
heart was, but not my will your be done, your will be done.
So that just is this whole concept and just where we've been living.
It's just this concept of asking God, like just ask him for what you want him
to do for you, for your kids, for your marriage.
Just ask him. And I say this too. This is a real big catchphrase of mine.
It's not that God will, but it's that God can. can.

(06:45):
So huge believer in, you know, faith.
God marveled at two things. He marveled at a lack of faith and he marveled at great faith.
So I am just igniting and awakening.
I'm hoping moms to just awaken this belief that God can, and he wants us to ask him.

(07:05):
So today we just really focused in on just all the ways that God's going to come through.
We don't know how we don't have have a spreadsheet. We don't know the details.
But as we wait and ask and believe, we know God's going to come through.
Oh, I love that joy. You know, and so much of it, so many times people just

(07:25):
don't know the power of prayer.
And when you ask him, I mean, it's just you.
I did a podcast earlier on how we can just go down that rabbit hole of like
worry, worry, worry, worry, worry. worry. And that was my theme of 2024.
Instead of worrying, instead of spending a half day, even all night worrying,
just take that one thought and turn it into a prayer.

(07:47):
And it is amazing to see God's hand.
And I just love that you were talking with that with the women today.
It's so on it. It was powerful.
Very powerful Thursday. Very powerful.
Wow. And that's just like Ephesians 3.20, you know, that God wants to do exceedingly,
abundantly more than we can desire or imagine.
But I think moms and people just limit themselves. They limit God and we can't do that. Amen.

(08:13):
And moms, I mean, you think they're just so, again, now more than ever, moms are stressed out.
Again, we're stressing about athletics and academics and culture and the nation
and the state of our nation.
And I just think that's such a distraction of the enemy.
And it's keeping moms giving leftovers to families, giving leftovers to mothering,

(08:37):
which it is the heartbeat of God. God, you know, he told Abraham,
direct your sons, you know, direct.
I've given you to direct your sons to me.
And so there's just the responsibility for us moms to just direct.
And I just think when we're so busy and we're so consumed with things that don't
really matter eternally, you know, like, where does my God, where,

(09:01):
God, where do you want my kid to go to school?
I might want this particular school for my kid.
And yes, ask God, God, this is what I want for my kid. I want them to go to
this particular school, but is this where you need them?
So I just think it's just that intentionality of just taking the time to ask
God for what it is you want and to just say, God, I trust you with what you're going to do.

(09:26):
But we're not even taking the time because we're so caught up,
you know, we're just so caught up in just the
distractions of our dailiness that we don't have the time to really press in
and press in to finding out the heartbeat of God of what He even wants and desires
for us to ask of Him to do for our kids because of the distractions and the busyness that is so just.

(09:53):
Expedited in this culture and in our generation.
Oh, I love that, Joy. We just have to wait and let God do it because you're
so right when you said sometimes what we think is the best thing for our kids.
God has a different plan.
And to just kind of lean into that and trust that He has our kids in the palm
of His hand, that is just amazing.
Well, Joy, where can moms, can you give some of your, you know,

(10:14):
your stats of where they can find you so that they can listen to other podcasts
that you'll bring on too? Sure.
Yeah, yeah. So we have Moms with Swords. We have Facebook. We have Instagram.
We have a website, momswithswords.com.
And then we have a podcast wherever you podcast.
There is a Moms with Swords podcast that you can go to 24-7 and hear all of

(10:40):
our teachings from several sessions back.
So yeah, those are our handles. You can find us there, Moms with Swords.
And, you know, like I said, we've got women from, I've got several,
I've got one woman in particular in Canada that listens and just,
it's just been life-giving for
her, especially during the COVID years when they were in such lockdown.

(11:01):
She was just so refreshed by Moms with Swords and we've got women in Maine and it's just amazing.
So yeah, momswithswords.com, momswithswords on Facebook, Instagram,
and anywhere people podcast, they can find Moms with Swords.
Oh, I love that. Yeah, you are such a breath of fresh air.
And I cannot wait to come back for another session, maybe next year by now,

(11:21):
since this one's wrapping up.
But wow, Joy, it has been such a pleasure having you.
And I am honored to have you on my podcast because you have just been on fire for the Lord.
And I've grown in so much just from our friendship through the years.
And I am honored to call you friend.
Ditto, my friend. Ditto, ditto. We're spurring each other on towards godliness,

(11:42):
right? and just chasing after Jesus harder and harder for the sake of us and our kids.
Oh, amen to that. And I love that by us doing this as moms and us praying out
loud, we're teaching our kids to pray.
And the best thing we can do for our kids is to model. And by you teaching women
and by me sharing some light with women as well, we're teaching them the power of prayer.

(12:05):
And even eventually so that they pray out loud so their families can hear and
then their kids can model that behavior as well. So I thank you, Joy, so much.
I hope moms will click on to themomsofswords.com and get refreshed with your words.
Thanks so much for being here today. Love you, friend.
Well, mamas, thank you so much for joining in.

(12:27):
I know you are super busy doing all the things that can consume your day,
but you took a couple of minutes to learn how God wants to build you up in your
faith, family, and life.
Music.
And He wants to applaud you for this.
Please subscribe and review my show. This helps other moms tune in as well.
I'd love to connect with you on Instagram at Front Parking Spot,

(12:47):
on Facebook at Front Parking Spot Mom Community, or my website at jenniferbosma.com.
Have an Ephesians 320 type of day, mamas, and be encouraged as you go for the
front parking spot in your life today. God bless.
