In this discussion, we will provide a snippet of our study for next Sunday dedicated to Galatians Chapter 2. We'll primarily focus on Galatians 2:7, examining different Bible versions and their implications. We aim to clarify misconceptions about the gospels preached by Peter and Paul, and how versions can potentially impact our understanding of the content.

Our main tool will be blueletterbible.org, which allows for a comparison across varied versions of the Bible. We'll delve into the King James Version (KJV), recognized as the pure, preserved word of God, along with other versions created over time. Our goal is to highlight contrasting interpretations brought about by minor yet impactful changes in wording—specifically, Galatians 2:7.

Galatians 2:7 states, "But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter" (KJV). In comparison, the NIV and NASB versions subtly alter the text, which can lead readers to believe that Paul and Peter were preaching the same Gospel to different audiences. However, the KJV clearly identifies two distinct gospels—of the circumcision and the uncircumcision.

It's these small textual discrepancies—like "of" and "to"—that can cause confusing interpretations among readers. Both versions suggest different messages, with one insinuating the existence of separate gospels and the other implying that it's the same gospel targeted at different audiences. It's discrepancies like these that confirm why the KJV, devoid of contradictions, remains the pure, unaltered Word of God.

Join us in this enlightening journey as we dissect and understand the significance of Bible versions and their role in shaping our understanding of the sacred text.

(00:00):
Good afternoon. I am giving you a little bit of a sneak peek on our topic for Sunday.
We are going to be going through Galatians chapter 2.
And in preparation for our study on Sunday, I was looking at Galatians 2.7 and

(00:20):
wanted to point out a difference here in versions.
So this is why versions matter.
And I think why so many people are lost and not understanding that there really
are two different gospels that Peter and Paul preached.
So this kind of helps clear up any confusion as far as if there are different

(00:41):
gospels and how big of a difference there is between versions.
Versions so let's look at and
this is an excellent website blueletterbible.org this
is very it's got a lot of helpful tools you can
toggle between which versions you want to see here so i'm in kjv which is the

(01:03):
pure and preserved word of god which the toggle button here you can drop down
and see any version that well i don't know about any version but many many versions
that have been been created by man.
You can just search in here if you don't see it. So I'm going to just go through
a couple of the different versions and show you some, pinpoint some,
some different differences here.

(01:25):
So Galatians 2, 7 is what we're looking at. And it says, but contrary wise,
when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me as
the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.
So we're just looking at this verse right now, because I just want to point
out some differences here.
So we're going to go to NIV and read that again, the NIV version.

(01:47):
On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of
preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.
Now let's go to NASB, because that was a Bible that I used for a while when
I was trying to figure out which version to use and have found that it is not

(02:09):
the preserved word of God either.
So 2.7 in NASB says, but on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with
the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.
Okay. So when you read those, most people are going to think,
well, it's the same thing.
Everything is saying the same thing, but just in a different way.

(02:30):
And that is something that is taken way too lightly and people don't really study out what.
Words meet. So a couple of things I wanted to point out is a draw here.
So on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the

(02:51):
uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.
Okay. So if we look at those two little pieces and then we go back up to NIV,
let's do NIV first and we'll do the same thing.
On the contrary, they recognize that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching
the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.

(03:18):
Okay, so I'm getting to a point here. Give me a second. Now let's go back to KJV.
But contrary wise, when they saw that the gospel of the circumcision was committed
unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.
Now look here. They saw the gospel of of the uncircumcision was committed unto

(03:38):
me as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.
So you really have to stop. One word can make it not true.
So of and of, I just blurred that out, is different than, is different than two and two.

(04:01):
So if you are listening to what the words are saying, this makes it sound like
it is the same gospel that Paul is preaching and Peter is preaching.
It makes it sound like it is the same one. The task of preaching the gospel
to the the uncircumcised.
So it's saying it's a different audience, but it's the same gospel.

(04:22):
Now, if we go back to KJV and we read this again, listen to the words.
Contrarywise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed
unto me as the gospel of the uncircumcision was unto Peter.
That is a very clear distinction that there are two different gospels of the

(04:44):
uncircumcision and and of the circumcision.
That is making a clear distinguishment of two different gospels.
Now, that is why so many people, one of the reasons why so many people get stuck,
because these little tiny words of and to make a huge difference, huge difference.
And if you're not in the right version of the Bible, this is blended all together

(05:07):
and it doesn't make sense.
So if you have these confusions and you see that your version has these little
things that create contradictions, because the Bible does not have any contradictions, God's word is perfect.
If your Bible has contradictions, you're not in the right version.
King James Version is the preserved word of God, and therefore we should only

(05:28):
be reading the King James Version.
