Danielle Butin is the Founder and CEO of AYFA Foundation, whose mission is to improve global health by rescuing unused medical and humanitarian supplies. Her organization is headquartered in Yonkers, New York.
From AYFA Foundation.org: "Afya creates access to critical medical supplies where there is none, supplies like sutures, bandages, assorted surgical instruments, and more. Afya’s programs give these supplies a second life, diverting them from landfills to wherever they are needed."
Recipients of AYFA's medical supply distribution currently include people affected by the Israel Hamas war. Danielle tells a fascinating story about how unused medical supplies go from a hospital room in New York to an ER 6000 mile away, and what happens in between.
