Moving from military life to civilian life can be difficult, especially if a veteran is dealing with a service-connected injury. Resources are available to ease the transition, but in typical government fashion, obtaining VA disability benefits often involves a maze of rules, intricate procedures, and bureaucratic red tape.

In this episode of David v. Goliath, hosts Matt Dolman and Stan Gipe are joined by Michael Hoffman, a VA Accredited Attorney who practices veteran’s disability benefits law. Michael knows firsthand what it’s like to sustain a service-connected injury and then navigate the complicated VA process to get disability benefits. Michael explains what motivated him to get into veterans’ disability law, how it differs from general disability, and why persistence is key to unlocking a maximum disability rating. He also talks about those who prey on injured veterans and the importance of choosing a VA Accredited Attorney.
