Moʻolelo (stories) are central to Native Hawaiian culture and identity. Moʻolelo connects Kanaka Maoli (Hawaiians) to their genealogy, to place, to one another, to community, and to the natural and spiritual world.
Drawing upon ancestral knowledge, culture, and history of Kanaka ʻŌiwi, the Moana Nui Podcast invited three talented storytellers and cultural practitioners to share their personal moʻolelo of how they became storytellers and why itʻs important to keep our indigenous stories alive.
Hear from our panelists:
AJ Paki Perkins – Author of “Mahalo Does Not Mean Trash”, Speaker, Sustainability CEO
Lopaka Kapanui – Storyteller, “Mysteries of Hawaii”, “The Ghost Guy”, Author of “Hawaiiʻs Night Marchers”
