Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!

I am back with another Crowing From the Perch segment where I am pondering, is this the death of the console business as we currently know it? It is no secret that the last year has been rough on the business side of the gaming industry, made ever more clear in the past couple of weeks with corporations fighting with their fan base and another corporation shuttering studios left right and centre, including a studio that just delivered a very successful game. All of these events are connected to the current state of how business is conducted in the console space. What once worked and defined a platform is now seemingly the cause of its undoing. As many platform holders and big studios scramble to secure their future and achieve a stabilization, we are left in a state of turmoil with plenty of questions and no obvious answers. However I believe the answers are there, it is just taking the business a while to shed its skin. Tune in to hear my opinion on why I think the old way of doing business in the console space is dying and where I think this is headed. This episode is a follow up to episode # 42 where I pondered the future of the gaming industry.
