Telling people what they “should” or are “supposed to” do can come across as judgmental and might deter people from wanting to connect with and open up to you. Instead of the should’s and supposed to’s, try asking some of these questions to help the person navigate their own struggle and find the answer for themselves.
These questions aim to empower the individual to explore their own thoughts and feelings, encouraging self-reflection and personal growth without imposing external judgments or expectations.
