Hey mamas, we know how hard it can be to find time for yourself and your friendships when you're busy taking care of kids and everything else life throws at you. In this episode, my sister Sam and I get real about how challenging it is to make time to see friends and take a break from mom life. We chat about the guilt and worry that comes with leaving your little ones, even though you know you need that time to recharge. I open up about how my husband Brett and I barely did anything just the two of us for months after our son Beau was born.
Sam and I discuss our different experiences - for her it's been key to get together with girlfriends for casual brunches or dinners for a few hours here and there. For me, Brett is my best friend so a lot of my "me time" is spent with him. But we both agree that whether it's with your partner or your gal pals, those times to talk, laugh, and just take the pressure off for a bit make you a better, more refreshed parent.
The struggle to make friend time happen is real, but it's so worth it. So call up your girlfriends or your spouse and plan that brunch, dinner, or just a walk and some ice cream. A little break from being "on" all the time is exactly what you need, mama. Enjoy your mom's night (or day) out!
