A common question is, when was the first official Thanksgiving in the United States? We know of the stories back to the pilgrims, but when did it become official?

It’s also common to wonder about the faith and beliefs of the founding fathers.

Were they Christian? Did they read the Bible? What did they think about these big issues?

Thankfully we have volumes of correspondence and speeches, and today I’m going to share what the first President, George Washington, had to say in the first thanksgiving address. So, let’s get started.
