This week’s guest Elaine Belson obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1987 and her master’s degree in Social Work in 1993 from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and has been a clinical social worker for 30 years
In addition to this, she decided to join the Army at the age of 42 because she wanted to be part of something bigger than herself and have a bigger impact during her time served in Afghanistan, from 2008-2010.
She is an expertise in the following topics: anger management, anxiety, coping with chronic pain, depression, domestic violence, eating disorders, grief/loss, low self-esteem, parenting, relationships, stress, substance abuse, trauma, women's issues, and work issues and she has provided trauma services for Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, bank robberies, military deployment and has helped children and teens cope with academic challenges, bullying, divorce, peer pressure, and low self-esteem.
